This is my response to this request REQ : loudspeaker App/tweak for S730
slideSpeaker v1.1
1. Install slideSpeaker
2. Restart
3. Make a call and try that yourself
gr8, I'm going to try it
Tried it, doesn't work.
Couldnt make it work either :-( I would really like this app.
Is it something we are doing wrong?
I just installed it and made a call and opened up the keyboard > no loudspeaker.
EDIT :restartet the phone and now it works! THANKS alot dude i really LOVE this.
I made a small donation to you moneytoo. Thanks for your great work!
Have you restarted your phones? I have just installed it one more time and it works...
1. Do you have shortcut (slideSpeaker.lnk) in \Windows\StartUp
2. Open some enhanced task manager and check if slideSpeaker is running (it's not visible as an application but it should be visible as a process)
EDIT: Thanks.
Funny, I got it to work, but it works a little funny. When I slide it open it doesn't switch to speaker, when I slide it back closed again the speaker works. When I open it again it turns off the speaker. i don't know if I'm opening it too soon or what. Either way it is functional, just takes a few seconds to kick in.
awesome. thanks!
Just wanted to update this and let you know it works fine on my S710/Vox, so you can update your homepage to reflect this, but it seems that you're simply toggling the speaker on and off, for example - if the keyboard is slid out and a call comes in, if it is answered the regular handset speaker is used and when the slide is closed, it is being switched to the external speaker.
Seems like a limitation of WinMo anyways, but your application is neat and works. Thanks.

OK, fixed in v1.1.
I have installed this program. But when i'm in my car and my Parrot bluetooth carkit is turned on the phone sends some of his sounds via the car radio what i didn't had when the program wasn't installed!
but the program is nice
Works perfect! Thank you very much, moneytoo!
600 k of ram. ouch that's a bit heavyweight for me.

with two presses at the headset button you recall the last number
How can i deactivate this function.
If you hear music and put the butten by mistake, that is boring.
Have somebody an idea?
Please, please.
What do you mean with "headset button"?
Such a hardware button does not exist.
TDO
oh ye it does exist? on the cable "hub" of the headset, I've got this problem aswell
carrying a bag arond the shoulder putting pressure on that spot making calls to different people :/
getting tired of coming up with lame excuses for why I'm calling them from out of nowhere!
Should be able to deactive it somehow?
Very annoying indeed. Anyone's got an idea on how to disable this button?

Yes open it up and stick a piece of paper under the electric contact.
I have the same problem.
If you press the answer/hang up button on your headset twice you'll going to do a call to the last called person. I actually made a 3:rd call once by mistake during a call and have BIG problems with be sure that i end phonecalls by using a headset.
This sux. Also, the music player hangs and sometimes the phone if I got an SMS or alarm notification while music is playing. If the music player hangs, I have to re-sync the headset bluetooth devices with the phone. that sux also.
I find this an anoying feature as well. Keeping the whole set in your pocket will most likely lead to an accidental call...
Anyone a solution to this?

...programmatically.
He he what a surprise was when I was walking on a street n listenin to music n suddenly music stopped n I heard "hello hello are you there??"
Yep that sucks but I think there´s no option how to disable it..perhaps only that way what´s written above
Ok, see I'm not the only one with this problem.
The funny thing is that almost nobody uses the functionality, but everybody is annoyed with it
any sollutions yet, I really hate it
grtz
Would love to find a solution for this too
my button is definitely malfunctioning and activating without any button press. until i can deactivate this thing, leaving the headphones plugged means i'll call someone within a few seconds.

Since I lost my headset, I no longer have this problem now
if you press the headset button twice, the system will simply run redial.exe in \windows, so you can disable it by replacing any program with the same name that do nothing.
Mine annoyed me so much I pulled the front off the button and ripped the metal contact bit out. It worked, but isn't ideal.
I now have a wicked pair of Jabra BT3030's bluetooth headphone receiver and I love it. Much better!
i installed Total Commander an simply edited the Redial.exe .. after nearly throwing the phone out of the window..
PS. i know the thread is old but maybe there are still ppl looking for a solution to that problem just like i was ten seconds ago
Same here.
There are other threads about this problem.
Still looking for a solution like, let's say a registry hack that disables the headset button...
HELP
Just found this trick the other day when I was looking for something to do voip with video. I ran into a program called tivi phone. I tried to make a video call. It crashed. No big deal, I wasn't expecting too much. I found, though, that tivi phone had re-routed all of my audio to the earpiece. When it crashed, it never got sent back to the rear speaker. I started skype, had a conversation with the phone the right way around for once, then restarted tivi phone and exited normally. Audio all back to normal now. Seems like if tivi phone can re-route the audio then skype should be able to do the same, but whatevs. now, whenever I want to skype without a headset, I start up tivi phone first, and the audio is in my ear, where it should be.
Hope this helps someone, it's definitely made my life a bit easier.
yep you're 100% right, great find.
Run tivi in background and then skype works as it should.
and coders from Skype watching? we need another app to make yours work as it should.
Thanks for this easy workaround
nice. gonna check it out. thanks
bro
Wow, this has been a dream for long time...
The only problem is that the sound continue to work to the ear speaker even if you close the Tivi Phone application...even ringtones
Nice find. It's working for me as well. I have never been a big fan of wearing a bluetooth headset. For this reason i never used skype mobile. Now i think i will use skype alot more.
Thanks for the tip!
Since I'm a lot on the road, driving, it's handy, when recieving a call, if the phone automatically is set on handsfree (speaker of the phone).
In the past there was the program from Oldsap to do this but the latest version of this does not work on my Diamond2
Does somebody know other free software for this? or,
Does somebody know a registry tweak or entry so the phone is alway's in handsfree modus, over the speaker of the phone?
Thanks in advance....
Try searching for touch_incall_screen_tweak in the forums.
Works well with my d2, just need to flip over the phone & it turns on the speaker, flip it back the speaker shuts of.

Flipping the phone when is placed in car holder, during driving, is difficult, don't you think.
There must be another way to do this...!!
Somebody has an answer
I just upgraded to 2.2 for the Captivate using the ODIN3, and everything is working great except sound through the headphone jack.
Music, navigation plays through the headset, but phone calls and notifications don't.
How am I supposed to hear them with music blearing over it?
Anyone know of a fix? I checked the settings and I don't see an option for it.

Search would have told you that this is a known issue - 2.2 is Beta.
There is no known fix.

You are lucky, mine doesnt let me even hear media or music thru the 3.5 mm!
???
I have 2.2 installed and don't have any issue with the headset.
Both music and phone calls work great.
BTW I'm using the stock hands free, the one that came with the phone.
My bluetooth works fine, it's the headphone jack I'm talking about.
i am having the same issue after upgrading via odin3. I also have to click the home button to clear a read text message or else it reminds me again.

No voice out of the "3.5 mm"?
Yeah that was a LOLWUT post. And that's been on the phone since I've had it, it's intentional, I think. Because you have to press the back button to clear the notification, because when you click on messages again, it stays at the same spot and the notification stays in the title bar because you didn't clear it.
i hear sound but i dont hear voicalls or notifications. if im listening to music with my sony headphones and someone calls i dont the ring through the headphones or the voice. i have to use the handset

when i was on 2.1, if i clicked a message from the notifiaction bar it would bring to the thread and mark it as read. froyo is not doing that. is there a way to fix it
IDK what 2.1 you had.
The one I had, I had to press back to clear the notification. It still does the same thing on 2.2.
It could be a bug, it is a beta.

I missed reading that in the notes.
I've searched quite a bit and never ran accross anyone mentioning it.
My headphones play music, notifications, everything just great, but in call volume is terribly low (NOT on headphones, but when I route the aux cable to my stereo in my car)
I had the issue initially in 2.1 from stock ROM, but managed to fix it somehow, and I can't figure out how. I tried all the evice level fixes, eve 6 different audio control apps off the market.
My typical setup is that I never use earbuds or headphones. I plug the aux cable into my headphone jack and run it sraight into my car CD player in aux mode. It plays everything at normal levels EXCEPT in call volume. If this is a bug, I'll just have to deal with it then.
hey guys, I've got a problem with my xperia sp
I was on vanir 5.1.1 aosp when my phone went to bootloop so I restored back to stock 4.1 firmware(.254)
but I realized that my speaker does not work with musics but it does sound in some places like setting
and also my primary mic and earphone does not work during call
I typed *#*#7378423#*#* in dialer and tried testing speaker-earphone-mic and there was no response
So I installed the app soundabout like it was said in another topic and it shows that bluetooth(MONO) is being used for calls and I dont know what that means!
I tried changing setting through app and now i get sound from speaker and mic is working but whatever i do earphone wont work, and there is another issue, the phone wont recognize my handsfree anymore(stock one and other ones) is continues playing through speaker even when i plug in my handsfree!!
and after changing soundabout settings the sensor which turns sceen off when its close to ear is always on and when my finger is close to it, screen goes off!!!
help me out guys I dont know what happened!!!!

Recently I had a similar issue. My SP always thought headphones are plugged in but actually they are not.
Reflash stock wiping everything.
About that SoundAbout app you better learn how to use it before you modify any setting. For now only check the notification bar whether headphone or loudspeker is used for media output.
Set phone call audio to "Let App Decide"

edit: btw, I did that graphite thing but still no luck, how much is needed? what should actually be done?
is it a hardware thing or software?? cause it happened exactly after downgrading from 5.1 to 4.1 stock, I also relocked bootloader and restored TA but no luck.

Dont try graphite method right now. First we need to confirm its a hardware or software issue.
Uninstall and install SoundAbout app and dont make any changes. Then u hit SoundAbout Service and choose ON-With Status and then tell me what u see in the notification panel(in use for media).
P.S. Use thanks button instead of saying thanks.

well I flashed the rom all over again and installed soundabout, there isnt a ON-with status option instead there is on-forground so i chose that the moment the notification came, touch sounds started to work(and walkman plays now through speaker) but handsfree is not detected - mic and earphone still not working
in status it says: Bluetooth (mono) in use for phone call
I actually did the graphite thing! but no luck and also i think it's not even a method cause graphite can even cause damage!

Now i got your problem. It has nothing to do with graphite thing. Graphite method is used for stuck in headset mode.
Some sort of bluetooth device is connected with your phone and ur phone is transferring the mic and earphone control over to that bluetooth device. U turn off bluetooth and check if mic and earphone work. Also check soundabout status and if possible upload the screenshot of notification panel showing the current media status.

Okay...... Okay ur device reporting false positive that Bluetooth device is connected but in reality its not. For now the temporary solution would be set phone call audio to let app decide or earpiece. Note that this could be temporary solution tomorrow i would research in more detail and sort this out once and for all

anyway, you dont know how much you would make me happy if u figure this out!

My version is the latest one v2.6.4. I recommend u to update it.
But anyways u try this.
1.Bluetooth behavious->tick (Mono) microphone override
Probably ur mic will start working.
2.Phone call audio->Earpiece
This would be an universal override to force audio from earpiece.
If possible update ur app coz the setting i said may or may not be available.

I strongly recommend u to do that graphite thing.

Actually it should work. Dont give up.
The actual description of the problem is phone is stuck in headset mode.
Here is how to get graphite from pencil.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8AFYtNMweyM
Put the graphite powder in the headphone jack and plug in & out headphones 10x times. Try to put more graphite powder and repeat until your notification panel shows "Phone speaker in use for media" (check attachment).
At last if it didnt work then the only solution left will be replacing the headphone socket.
Good Luck!
Just a little Addition, replacing the headphone socket would be cheap and easy. I had opened my phone yesterday to clean it and this socket was easy to take out.
By the way: There can be a LOT of dust under the protector of your front speaker. Cleaning this has improved the sound while calling quite much!
