Handsfree over the spreaker - Touch Diamond2, Pure Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Since I'm a lot on the road, driving, it's handy, when recieving a call, if the phone automatically is set on handsfree (speaker of the phone).
In the past there was the program from Oldsap to do this but the latest version of this does not work on my Diamond2
Does somebody know other free software for this? or,
Does somebody know a registry tweak or entry so the phone is alway's in handsfree modus, over the speaker of the phone?
Thanks in advance....

Try searching for touch_incall_screen_tweak in the forums.
Works well with my d2, just need to flip over the phone & it turns on the speaker, flip it back the speaker shuts of.

Flipping the phone when is placed in car holder, during driving, is difficult, don't you think.
There must be another way to do this...!!

Why does every body oohing and ahhing about this piece of junk? IT DOES NOT VIBRATE!!!!.... Let me repeat. IT DOES NOT VIBRATE!!!! So the only way for you to get call notification is to either wear the ear pieces all the time or turn on your Athena default ear shattering notification sound. Now, I understand that a lot of you think that no one will ever call you or the line of work that you're in will never ever require you to attend any meeting at work so the default loud Athena notification is not a problem. But think again!!!! On that rare occasion when the hooker you paid to go out on a date with you calls, you will find yourself looking like an IDIOT emitting that horrible stupid default call notification sound that came with the Athena. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY BUYING THIS PIECE OF SH*T.
The only stereo BT headset that also vibrates up until now is the Jabra BT8010.

Manner would be spending a minute searching for more info (problems, etc...) about the item one is thinking of posting that have been reported time after time after time after time... up here before starting another thread tricking people into buying junks....
I'm with you Red_Toyol.
I bought this headset and the Jaba but took the Jaba back after a few days in favour of this one for two main reasons. First, the sound quality on the Sony-Ericsson is definitely better, both on Music and both ways on calls. Secondly, the wires for the earpieces act as the necklace so you wear it round your neck (and inside your shirt) and it only comes out when needed.
Now, since using it for some 4 months now, I can give you a couple of other pointers.
The DS970 has caller display so I can see who's calling before I answer. OK, it's number only (there's probebly a fix for names) but I'm good with that.
Also, I charge mine once every two weeks or so. That's as I use it only now and then for music but for phone calls all the time. However, I leave the BT on the Ameo ALL the time but switch off the headset when not using it. That's because, when the phone rings (and I only have 20seconds before switching to answer machine), I have time to power up the headset (about 5 secs including logon to Ameo) and answer. When call finished, I hang up and switch off.
If you do this, you get sooo much battery life for no convenience loss AND it means vibrate would be useless anyway.
Each to their own I suppose but I am so pleased with this bit of kit. IF you need vibrate, look elsewhere. If not, this is the best IMHO.
Oh, and as for the ringing, why would you use the default ringer anyway? I have my own ringtones for various purposes and when I get a call, my Ameo rings as if I didn't have a headset. The only difference is I can choose at that point which method to answer by.
Hope this is helpful to those searching. Cheers.
DS970 indeed looks like quite an ideal BT headset.
Vibration is completely unnecessary for me also. Even if I have such a function, I won't use it. The reason is this. If I'm outdoor, I want normal ringtone to come through from the phone's speaker. If I'm in the meeting, I would just switch via profile into one of those "special ringtone". Special ringtone could be mosquitoe ringtone (ultrasonic frequency ringtone which I can hear but some others can't), sound of coughing, or even sound of a vibrating phone, etc. Something that sounds acceptable from etiqeutte standpoint. In addition, my profile would have set the ringing to go from soft to progressively loud. There is no need to actually vibrate.
I like the style of the phone where you can hide it in your shirt with only two wires hanging out. It is much better than hanging it on the ear, which looks really wierd in my own opinion.
Thanks for the recommendation.
Beware of fake HBH DS970 from ebay sellers.
I did a quick research on this, and noted that many have bought from Hong Kong sellers mainly, but some are out of US too.
If you have it very cheap, it's likely to be a fake.
Attached are some articles related to these fake items.

Tritton - Another Option
Here is another option I came across while looking for a BT solution. The Tritton relies on the housing to clip on your pocket, shirt or coat but I have also used it with a lanyard when wearing a t-shirt. It also allows you the option of using any stereo headset with a 3.5 mm plug.
It is a very clean, mimimalist design (no blinking blue light) with an OLED display and Caller ID (number only) to conserve battery and relies on only 3 buttons for all the functions. So far it has worked very well with the Advantage and the range for both headset and stereo functions has been excellent with no static or popping at all. You can actually keep your device in your pocket, bag or briefcase without any degradation to audio quality. The only con is that there is not vibration feature.
I purchased mine at Tiger Direct for less than $100.
While trying to source for DS980, I came across DS220, which seems to be similar to DS980 except you're free to plug in your 3.5mm earphone of your choice if you wish.
Has anyone used this before? If so, how is the sound quality?
Anyone knows if there are other differences between DS980 and DS220?
bizarre this thread should appear as i bought some of these this very day for 40 quid from Cex, though they are brand new and CERTAINLY not fake. certainly if they are available for twenty quid il be gutted!! they seem to work fine. sound quality is great and i dont feel like a **** wearing them. all good then. the only thing i havent figured is whether i can get it to automatically open up media player when i press play. i also cant get it to work with my n95 - after pairing it just says 'unable to connect'. stupid n95.

my main gripe with the sony units is that they have their own propriety charger connection, a kinda bastardised Sony phone charger.
IMHO the tritton unit is much better, recently upgraded to one from a hbh-ds970
i guess it all depends on each other's preferences. some like the headset to vibrate, some like it hanging via neckstrap, etc.
this is what i've been using for 2 years now:
http://www.itechdynamic.com/en/products_spec.asp?cid=2&pid=02030
it's an r35 itech unit. i use the white one and i like it for the following:
- no need to hang it in your ear all the time
- minimalistic and you can hide it in your shirt collar...or clip it
- has a built in buzzer that i can hear even when outdoors. when a call comes there are 2 beeps that go off. they won't stop until i answer or the caller hangs up
- my x7500 is either in my laptop bag, the diaper bag or in a backpack. so this saves me the trouble of carrying it all the time
- during meetings, i can disable the buzzer and change the notification to rapid light mode. basically, i leave it on the table so when a call comes through the normal flashing light turns to 2 rapid flashes
- i can change the single earphone to dual for a2dp stereo use. the headset also allows me to skip to the next track or go back to the previous, etc
- and i can plug my nifty bose noise cancelers on it as well
cheers
I really cant understand why no one does the following:
a2dp
usb chrging
option for using your own headphones
vibrate
full caller id- not just number
sms viewing
full music controls
mp3 id tag display
lanyard or clip on option
equaliser controls
oled
wm and symbian compatitibilty
Surely it can't be that difficult- I just wanna be able to leave my Ameo in my pocket until I choose to take it out

bluetooth hands free connection problems

Hey just tried connecting to my Blue ant supertooth light hands free.
it paired Ok but I have two problems when using it.
1. the hands free wont auot answer & i cant find if there is a setting on the diamond to set this.
2. when i receive a call as sson as i press the answer key it disconnects the phone from the hands free.
any ideas?
thanks
Peter
I had the same issue with other Win mobiles too. Maybe some issue with the windows to bluetooth?
I suspect so, but no one else has mentioned it in other posts
can anyone shed some light?
I don't have this issue at all, I am using Sony Stereo headsets right now.
The biggest issue for me right now is...after I finished using bluetooth, the phone will be muted until I soft reset. And this is relaly annoying!

No problems here pairing it with my car. Maybe a soft-reset can help?
Yea I'm having this issue with the Motorola i710 headset....only mine disconnects after about 4 minutes into a call....same other issues
I'm having problems too with Bluetooth headset/hands free... I'm using Dell BH200 headset which does stero wireless and hand free calling... When I dial numbers I can hear throught the headset, music plays fine through the headset, however it seems as soon as the phone connects/it goes into sleep it drops the headset and the small ear speaker in the handset works... Its annoying... I'm going to test with platronics hands free tomorrow...
Also, when I make a call, like a few seconds after it connects the phone's screen turns off... I thought it was only supposed to do this when you bring it up to your ear i.e. when light sensor in the ear speaker detects little light..?

I think I solved the problem with muting the phone after using bluetooth: using TF3d configuration tool I disabled the music tab. Now i use wm player for music and, during 1 day ,I had no problem - my phone is not going to mute anymore. Please try this method and post here the result. A lot of Diamond users have this problem and is few topics o the forum related to this.

deactivate Headset Button

with two presses at the headset button you recall the last number
How can i deactivate this function.
If you hear music and put the butten by mistake, that is boring.
Have somebody an idea?
Please, please.
What do you mean with "headset button"?
Such a hardware button does not exist.
TDO
oh ye it does exist? on the cable "hub" of the headset, I've got this problem aswell
carrying a bag arond the shoulder putting pressure on that spot making calls to different people :/
getting tired of coming up with lame excuses for why I'm calling them from out of nowhere!
Should be able to deactive it somehow?
Very annoying indeed. Anyone's got an idea on how to disable this button?

Yes open it up and stick a piece of paper under the electric contact.
I have the same problem.
If you press the answer/hang up button on your headset twice you'll going to do a call to the last called person. I actually made a 3:rd call once by mistake during a call and have BIG problems with be sure that i end phonecalls by using a headset.
This sux. Also, the music player hangs and sometimes the phone if I got an SMS or alarm notification while music is playing. If the music player hangs, I have to re-sync the headset bluetooth devices with the phone. that sux also.
I find this an anoying feature as well. Keeping the whole set in your pocket will most likely lead to an accidental call...
Anyone a solution to this?

...programmatically.
He he what a surprise was when I was walking on a street n listenin to music n suddenly music stopped n I heard "hello hello are you there??"
Yep that sucks but I think there´s no option how to disable it..perhaps only that way what´s written above
Ok, see I'm not the only one with this problem.
The funny thing is that almost nobody uses the functionality, but everybody is annoyed with it
any sollutions yet, I really hate it
grtz
Would love to find a solution for this too
my button is definitely malfunctioning and activating without any button press. until i can deactivate this thing, leaving the headphones plugged means i'll call someone within a few seconds.

Since I lost my headset, I no longer have this problem now
if you press the headset button twice, the system will simply run redial.exe in \windows, so you can disable it by replacing any program with the same name that do nothing.
Mine annoyed me so much I pulled the front off the button and ripped the metal contact bit out. It worked, but isn't ideal.
I now have a wicked pair of Jabra BT3030's bluetooth headphone receiver and I love it. Much better!
i installed Total Commander an simply edited the Redial.exe .. after nearly throwing the phone out of the window..
PS. i know the thread is old but maybe there are still ppl looking for a solution to that problem just like i was ten seconds ago

HTC Diamond headphones autodial problem

I have an wierd problem in my htc touch diamond.
Everytime i connect the headphones it tries to autodial a name in my contacts list.
And if i connect the radio it doest it nonstop... i heard the "bip" and then its like if it wanted to dial a name...
It sounds strange..but it is like that.
hope somenone knows what im talking about cause im gettting nuts...
Spanish original vodafone rom, not that many programs installed, although started doing it after installing thumbcal and pocketmax alarm today.. although I dont think that is the problem since i restored with spb backap a 1 month ago backup i made and still same headphones problem.
Have checked the headphone button.. and it seems to be ok (at first I though if maybe was stuck..)
Got the same problem. Did anyone know how to solve it?
sounds to me like a faulty headset. Try to connect a different set of headphones and see if it acts the same way.
I got same problem
Hi, your problem solved? my HTC diamond got the same problem, so irritating.
I have the same problem, I was told it was that the button on the headphones was too sensitive, so as I never use it I ripped the button off.
It isn't nearly as bad but still does it sometimes.
My friend with the same phone says that this fixed his though.
I think I need to have another go at it, see if I can stop it properly.
Ok, so I pulled the cover from the button on the headphones and ripped out all of the metal button that is attached to the board inside.
It's certainly working so far.
headphones HELP PLEASE!!!
hey guys i picked a pair of headphones from the store they fit my htc daimond and all but wen i plug them in nuthing happens wen i plug ionto to my razr or slvr they work fine is there an app that can help change this or something please help
HTC headphones auto dial problem finally solved!!!!
guys,I am using HTC Touch Pro2,I have same problem when headphone is plugged into HTC touch pro2;
Description of symptom:
Sometimes when you touch or move the wires of headphone, the phone will automatically dial back the first number in your call hisory (it's not "contacts list" as this poster said),the problem is not stable, when you deliberately fiddle with the wires of headphone hoping to find out what is the problem,it doesnt auto dial, while when you casually try to adjust the position of the wires to make yourself comfortable,it auto dials!
People completely have no idea what is going on,like it's a ghost behind it.
I initially believed that maybe the movement of the wires shakes the USB slot, which triggers internal electronic touching or somthing.
Like others,I checked whether there is some button along the wires of headphone,I found none, thus this mystery remains forever.
However, the other day, suddenly I did find a button in the wire. Now pls look at your HTC headphone, the middle of the black box(where two wires are jointed) is the button! the cover of this box is clickable, pls try to click it sveral times, the phone will auto dial.
it is now clear that this clickable cover (button) is specifically designed to auto dial back the call when you use headphone.
The button is so sensitive that even small touch will make it execute.
I had the same problem
I had this annoying problem and i sent my phone in service. I got a new pair of headphones and after some time (~1 year) same problem occured. I think this are the crappiest headphones i ever seen . THX HTC ) anyone found any good headphones (not necessarily original) that I can buy?
same problem
Had the same problem. It's caused by faulty wiring in the headphones. Mine do the calling when the wire at the end of the connector gets wiggled into certain positions (i.e. when I keep it in my pocket or in my hand while running). It's really annoying especially since this is my 3rd set in as many months that has this problem.
I've also noticed that Orange is selling them at a quarter of the price they had in December. I'm guessing they're trying to get rid of them since the new models from htc come with standard headphone jacks.
Only sure fire solution to the problem is getting a new pair.
Same here.

Diamond automatically calls

Hello,
Recently I started using windows media player in my diamond and it was working really good. But for about a week now my phone have been starting to call up random people in my phonebook, several times in a row. I always put the phone in lock mode and put the phone to sleep. But still it continues to call up people and it's kinda annoying when your friends get pissed because your phone accidentely called them up at 6am in the morning haha.
Anyone else have the same problem?
I am pretty sure that you are using some extUSB adapter ( 3in1 ) and that is the reason. If it is poor quality the cables very often loose the isolation and in result occasionaly connect causing effect like with normal headset and double click of active button which is normally redial.
I hope I helped
Awesome reply
I checked my headset and you were right. I pushed the headset button and it automatically redialed. Can I configure this setting so it won't happen again?
Best Regards
