where can i get the original PTT software from htc that came on my att tilt?
nobody? =\
You are not going to be able to add PTT to a non-at&t Rom.
What you need to do is use an at&t Rom that has not been castrated to the point of having PTT removed.
The problem lies in the fact that there are hooks to at least a couple of the dlls that are specific to at&t Roms.
i have the same rom as i always had.....and i still have the the DLL's...
If you are running a stock at&t Rom then you don't need to reinstall PTT.
If you have followed the instructions to disable PTT your best bet is to hard reset.
I have attempted to create an installer to put PTT back into my cooked at&t Roms which retained the original at&t dlls but have not been able to get it to work.

Hi,
I've recently updated my MDA Vario to the new dtuch QTek rom (2.18 I believe). Everything went smoothly and my phone now has a much higher standby time. However, in the settings menu for my GSM network it says 'no service' where it should say 'T-Mobile. I tried softreset, switching flightmode on/off, using 'automatic' and 'manual' to select a network, removing SIM card, but nothing works? Right now, I can't receive any calls even tho people hear it like I'm just not anwsering my phone and the 'call' hardware button or the 'phone' button in the windows menu don't even open up the call screen where I can enter a number.
I only CID unlocked my device before I updated to the new rom so I am not sure if I needed to SIM unlock as well but I don't think so.
Can anyone help me out with this problem? Thanks in advance
anyone? I am beginning to think this is a serious problem... maybe my telephone is defect? :S Or do you think this is just a software problem?
try flashing it back to the old ROM
Can I just overwrite the 2.18 ROM with the older T-Mobile rom again? And if anyone else knows a better solution that does not require another rom 'update' please let me know!
Also, I've found out that a hard reset didn't work, in fact, I couldn't hardreset because when I needed to enter the Call key to confirm the reset, the key just didn't work... :?
Okay, after downgrading again to the T-Mobile 1.6 rom the phone seems to get a signal again? How can it be that the new QTek rom doesn't get a signal but the old T-Mobile rom does? I DID CID unlock the device, and altho I am unsure if it worked, I assume it did, since the QTek install went flawlessly. I did NOT do a sim unlock, but I figured that wasn't needed since I would stick to T-Mobile anyway?
Sorry man, I've no idea. The main thing is that you now know that there is nothing wrong with your hardware.
If the radios are different versions I guess you could try keeping the old radio and updating everything else.
Good luck.
On the ftp there is a tmobile file voor connection settings
Can you get PTT to work on the Kaiser without flashing to the AT&T ROM?
anyone working on this?
Short answer is no.
PTT requires a special RIL driver that is in the at&t Roms.

Is there a way to pull that out of the AT&T ROM, and include it into a cooked HTC ROM?
I'm thinking of getting a Sprint Diamond this week, but I want to be able to modify it so that it doesn't answer in the pocket, and so that the keyboards and apps will work in landscape mode.
Will the mods in this forum work for a Sprint Diamond, or just the GSM ones.
Also, just to be sure, if I decide to return the Diamond to Sprint within my 30-day trial period and buy an unlocked GSM Diamond or a Fuze, will a hard reset restore the firmware to its original version? If not, is there a way to restore it to original so that I don't have any return problems?
Thanks for your input. You guys are the best.
Almost all apps should work, the ROMs will NOT.
Hard reset takes it to current ROM image, which may or may not (if youve flashed it) be the Sprint image.
There are tools to relock and ROM images of the stock Sprint image available (or will be).
Is there any chance that someone will cook up an enhanced Sprint ROM that includes the Sprint-specific apps (ie. TeleNav, Pocket Express, etc) that will incorporate many of the performance enhancements the GSM ROMs have? I would be very interested.
Thanks to any cooks working on this in advance!
First, I searched and read a lot of threads and didn't find an answer to this and I'm sure many will find it a very simple question. I have heard that this is possible with some version of Sprite but don't know what.
A little help on that please?
Also, any pointers to what its going to take to unlock the ATT FUZE so I can use it on TMO like I do my Tilt? I suppose the FUZE also will not work with TMO's 3G?
Also how to remove the ATT bloatware, I know this isn't a FUZE forum so please forgive me asking all this here, I've received a lot of help here so naturally this is where I come back. Hopefully I've given a little back and of course I'll continue as I am able.
Thanks!

The apps are all windows mobile, if you back up the apps onto a SD card then you will be able to reload onto the Fuze. Backing up settings with Sprite, and reloading from the Tilt to the Fuze, probably will not work ( but I don't know for sure )
AT&T and T-Mobile have different 3G frequencies, and that has not changed.
To unlock and flash your new Fuze, mskip to the rescue. (again)
AT$T bloatware is the same as the Tilt, just soft reset immediately after the " tap here to setup your device " screen, before the " customizations in 3 seconds " screen.
Thanks, well the Fuze has a faster proc and more memory and probably doesn't have all the troubles with the GPS as the Tilt... but if I can't get better internet over it then maybe I'll just ebay it and wait for something better to come along.
Hmmm... gotta see what a New Sealed in Box Fuze goes for on ebay...
I did decide to ebay it, I can use the proceeds to help fund a trip to Alaska with my son this summer.
My Tilt still has plenty to give, I know better phones will be out later - they always come out with better phones later.
In case anyone is interested, here is my auction:

Trying to get this section of the forum really active .
Those other ROMs that are listed on the regular Diamond development portion of this form, can they be used on the CDMA phones as well?
Also, in the interest of me wanting to completly wipe my phone out (I mean getting rid of the sprint ROM that is "hidden", that starts up after WinMo gets installed, I see the Sprint ROM link on the PPCGeeks site), I would have to re-configure my phone for my phone number, MSID, etc.
is there a guide to do that on a CDMA / Sprint phone?

You shouldn't have to reprogram the MDN or MSID after flashing a new ROM

no, gsm roms do not work on cdma roms and vice versa, it will ruin your phone if you try flashing a gsm rom.
It wont completely ruin your phone all u have to do is hold the volume down, power, and back, buttons and then press reset all at the same time(which is somewhat difficult) and flash a CDMA ROM onto it... I've done it plenty of times.
