A problem I have is that when reciving a SMS the Kaiser wakes up (turning of the button lock). After this anything can happan in the pocket...
Any ways to let the Kaiser sleep right through a incoming SMS or MMS?
Here is what I use to ensure that my Kaiser is locked "On Device Wakeup"
I found it on XDA-Devs a while back. All credit goes to the author "Matt Armstrong".
Basically it adds a CPL Applet to the System Tab called Device Lock.
Check the option to "Lock on Wake"
I just set mine to lock after 5 mins anyway. Then even though a text wakes it, it simply goes to the pin screen so it cant ring anyone or the like.
Thats a device lock(?)
I just want my Kaiser to not wake up on incoming sms/mms.

The Device Lock doesn't stop your phone from waking, it simply locks the keys and dims the screen on wake. So in your pocket (or elsewhere) it will still notify you unless you are set to silent.
If you want to stop the wake up process have you turned off all notifications for SMS/MMS? I believe it is the notification that actually triggers the Wake-up not the actual receipt of the message.
thanks..this problem annoys me as well
Hi
The phone has to wake up (i.e. come out of standby) to accept the text message, so it may as well light up the screen and let you know about it.
Regards
Phil
So it isnt possible, in any way, to make the kaiser just notify incoming sms and keep on sleeping.
Thats pretty sad because the on/off switch is the best device lock on the market in my opinion.
I get the idea with the device lock on wake cab but it would be perfect to just lock/unlock with one simple keystroke.
*swenglish...*
I find it strange that the device doesnt wake up when an email comes in (on a outlook account), but it does wake up when an SMS comes in?
^ drives me nuts! lol
so in other words the only way to avoid this is the fact on turning off the text message notification all together?

Hi all,
I can't seem to discover how to achieve this and I'm tearing my hair out.
When my Ignito is in standby (ie, screen off and resting in my pocket) and I receive a text message, the screen comes back to life and it plays a little sound. I'm happy to hear a noise, but I can't work out how to make sure the screen stays off.
Picture the scenario: Walking along a busy road, a txt arrives, unheard in my pocket. The screen comes to life. Then the touch sensitivity comes into play and suddenly my phone is carrying out random touchscreen activated functions, including some rather long and unexpected phone calls to my brother in law!!!
How can I ensure the screen stays off? In Settings/Sound and notifications, my "receive text message" only has "play sound" checked. "display message on screen" is off. So I expect the screen really ought to stay off!!!
What am I missing here?
Cheers,
Mike

You can stop your device from getting awake by downloading the Advanced Config app here on XDA http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=418151
Then, when you installed it, you select the option 'Messaging'....from there you go to: 'wake up on new sms' and disable this option....hope this will help you to solve your problem
Thanks for your help.
I have already downloaded this app (advanced config version 3.2) but under messaging, there is no "wake up on new sms" option.
Is there a registry key I can amend manually? I've had a look around my device but can't see a suitable "wake on SMS" key.
Then again, I'm quite new to windows mobile...
Cheers

Strange on my copy of advanced config 3.2 i have that option....have you soft resetted your device after installing the app??...might be worth a try.
If you set it to 0, does that mean the device does not wake up when there is a message? Do you still hear the sound? How would you then unlock the phone?
(Sorry, I still don't have the Touch Pro but will get it once it's available here )

Yes...the phone doesn't wake up when you receive a new text...i'm not sure if it will make a sound....(in thought not so) i'm not sure...good luck
Yes, it will sound accordingly but the screen will not come on (wake up). That option to turn it on/off is available in Advance Config V 3.2.
Well, my Advanced config definitely does not have the option as described. However, i made the registry key myself and it works quite nicely.
Strangely, now when I receive a message and the device in standby, it plays my "text received" sound twice. Odd indeed. Unless the device is locked and in standby, when only plays the sound once. I can live with this.
Thanks everyone for your help

I have this problem too, so it seems like the ignitos dont have this in their registry..? How did you make your own registry key..anyone able to help me out here! Today I received a text message and while in my pocket the phone just started dialling random people
Just upgraded to 6.1. I would like to keep the phone asleep when an alarm goes off, I only want a sound or vibrate notification. I'm pretty sure I had it set-up that way before the upgrade.
The problem is that the phone wakes up for a reminder and it will end up dialing a phone number or some other random thing before it goes back to sleep. This happens because I don't hear the alarm, it is still in the holster and movement pushes on the screen. This has happened several times.
Maybe I was using an app before that I need to put back on, I don't remember. This is very annoying and potentialy embarrasing.
Come to think of it, I want the phone to stay asleep no matter what, until I wake it up. I may have had a phone call that I missed and the movement caused the phone to redial. How can I keep the screen disabled until I push the wake-up button?
Thanks-
Diff
Edit:
This is the Tilt w/ ROM from HTC site
Lock your handset
I think locking the handset will solve your problem. I just tried it, I was able to dismiss the calendar reminder but other functions needed me to follow the unlock route. I assume this will work if you also get called.
Install S2U2.
Set it to lock on wakeup.
Thanks Proto, I'll try S2U2. It looks like it may work, and it is pretty cool too.
Although I would rather use a method with a smaller footprint. There has to be a registry hack that would simply keep the screen disabled until I activate it.
Anyone?
no wakeup on reminder without s2u2
I don't like s2u2 so that doesn't do it for me. I've searched a lot on the internet but I can't find a solution that prevents reminders waking up my phone (and after that being awake in my pocket )
Somewhere in the phone there must be a list of events that can wake up the phone? Somebody knows?
Is there any solution to this problem? Last time my phone woke because of a reminder and then it sent an new appointment to a collegue while moving around in my backpack. There has to be a RegKey or smth on this
I know that many of you have disabled the "Fast Sleep" mode while making a phone call. Well what I'm wanting to do is just the opposite, disable (or lock) the touch screen entirely while making a call. The problem I'm having is that when talking on the phone I always end up touching the screen with my cheek and either accidentally end the call, call someone else, or whatever. I would like to have a utility which would lock the touchscreen maybe 5-10 seconds after a call is established. One of the hard keys or an i-pod type slider function would unlock the screen.
Does anyone know of a utility like this?
I do have the "fast sleep" mode enabled within Kaiser Tweeks. However, while the fast sleep mode turns off the screen to save battery power, it still wakes back up with just a touch.
I have an AT&T Tilt.
I've seen some discussion of S2U2 on this forum, but it appears that S2U2 is a whole new today screen. I would like to keep my today screen unchanged. I only want the screen to lock during a call.

It is a lock not a today replacement. That is what I use.
Thanks parleyp, I guess I'll give s2u2 a try. The info that I've seen just seems rather complicated when all I need is a simple lock utility. Why is there discussions on s2u2 affecting the weather tab, clock display, background, etc?
Which version are you using on your tilt?
Would you be interested in something like that??
If so search for opal dialer in kaiser Rom development subforum.
I am fairly certain that you can just press the "power" button and shut the screen off. When you are ready to hang up, just hit the end button. This is not automatic, but it works for me.
yea, i was gonna say: what's wrong with just pressing the power button?
Is it possible to tell the Diamond to stay locked with the screen off until unlocked manually while a handsfree is connected? I keep my phone in my pocket while driving and it unlocks itself when a call is in progress and then locks itself again, when the call finishes. But if anything is pressed, and it does if I even move a centimetre, it won't lock back again and will in most cases call back the person I've just had a conversation with.
Is there a setting I'm missing or would an application have to be used?

Use TouchLockPro
I have the same need and tried plenty of solutions, no good so far.
One of them was actually an early version of TouchLockPro, however it lacked an important functionality of treating locking as a mode. It has a "lock on incoming call" feature, but that's not what I need because most of the time my phone is on the desk and shouldn't lock on every incoming call. What I need (and I guess IceBone is with me on that) is just a way to make sure that when the phone is locked - it just stays this way till instructed otherwise...

TouchLockPro can be tuned to your needs, just disable autolockonpoweron and you are in control...
I will check it out.
EDIT: Sorry, but that's completely useless to me. There's a thousand other options that I had to disable, it didn't unlock itself with the power button, it also didn't stay locked on incoming call, even though I double checked I had that enabled, it also puts an annoying white square in the windows status bar, which covers the clock.
All I want is for the phone to stay locked on incoming and outgoing calls. If it can be set to only stay locked only while a handsfree set is connected (the phone does know the difference, it shows a nice little headset icon), it would be perfect.
This is the biggest issue with my TD...
Because of this issue BT headset is totaly useless (if device in your pocket or case).. After incoming or outgoing call need to check device for unwanted actions..
Well, if we get more people requesting this, maybe one of the devs could cook up a quick fix.

The white square is the inidcator that it is locked. The configured foreground and background color are reversed when locked.
I will put a convenience setting (Bluetooth) in the action screen on the wish list, so it will never unlock/lock when that mode is activated by te other unlocking methods. But there must also be way to unlock then. Maybe the Stylus still unlocks, so you can disable Bluetooth mode?

I will add this to the next version of TouchLockPro, a way to enable/disable bluetooth lock mode
Could you possibly release a cab that does only that? It would be perfect, it's the only functionality I want.

You can use StylusLock, which makes it possible to lock/unlock only using the stylus sensor. This can be used in combination with Bluetooth.
Also TouchLockPro can be used in combination with Bluetooth, but then you need to change more settings, but this is easy too, via the TouchLockAction settings screens:
- Light Sensor: Uncheck "Use Light Sensor"
- G Sensor: Uncheck "Use G Sensor"
- Nav Sensor: Uncheck "Use Capacitive Nav Sensor"
- TAPI: Uncheck "Use TAPI"
- Other Settings: Uncheck "AutoLockOnPowerOn"
Thereafter you can lock the phone by taking the Stylus Out and putting back in within 1 second and use Bluetooth for picking up the phone. If you take out the Stylus, it will also unlock.
But I would still have to take the stylus out if someone called and I wasn't connected to the bluetooth. Or is only the screen locked?

With the settings I gave, you are in control of locking. So if you did not lock the phone via the Stylus Out/In, it will not be locked, also when a call comes in or you power on (or external event) the phone.
From your response, I understood you only wanted locking with Bluetooth:

But of course, you can also use the capacitive touch area for unlocking and configure power on also as a locking means.
Other Settings: Check "AutoLockOnPowerOn"
Nav Sensor: Check "Use Capacitive Nav Sensor"
In the Nav Sensor screen you can fine tune your capacitive unlocking methods.....
Yes, the only thing I want is for it to stay locked until I unlock it manually when BT is connected.

Ok, so the settings I gave you will do that.
But will those settings be disabled when bt is disconnected and the phone will unlock on an incoming call?

Hmm i have the same problem , this sound very interesting. I did tried everything too. Nothing yet. The only solution is that "ZuinigeRijder" will find a fix or an addon. That would be really helpfull !!

It would still require me to fiddle with it when I connect or disconnect. I've been thinking and the light sensor could also be used, lock the screen/keys permanently when in the dark (pocket) and switch to normal when out. I suspect your program can do that as well, but it's just too fiddly with all the other unneeded options. Can't you delete a few lines and make just a simple locker like that? Wouldn't even need to have a status icon like it does now.
It wakes up everytime I get a text message and sometimes seems to wake up for no reason. This didn't always happen but I can't find and option to disable this.
Anyone know what I can do about it?
i dont think so it might be better to leave it alone.

On my phone, every time I receive a text message, the buttons light up for about half a second then starts to vibrate and play the ringtone. It's been doing that since the whole CnD thing and I've just ignored it since it didn't seem to be causing any issues.
You could go into the SMS app and shut off notifications from there. Might make a nice, powersaving script.
I don't know why the phone powers up without a notification. I have found I can't turn on my Wifi when I turn on Background data and it's been off for quite a while (still have autosync off). My data connection is showing heavy useage. The big G is watching us all. It makes me wonder if something is coming in to your phone from somewhere to wake it.
If it's killing you, you could try living without apps for a day you suspect might be doing it, or just schedule a kill at intervals if you can't uninstall it.
You could go into settings and change the screen timeout to 15 Sec so if it does come on, it wont stay on long..
