Greetings all,
Just wondering if anyone would be interested in acquiring a Tytn II before I put it up on Ebay. The unit has been treated with the utmost care and and I still have all the original packaging (including the box, etc...). I paid about $749 new and would at least like to get $450-$500 as I've only had the unit for about three months and even then it's had light use.
Note: I'll be shipping the unit from Ontario, Canada.
Also... I'm flexible on the price.
Hit me up with a message if you're interested or send an e-mail to [email protected]

I'm curious, where is everyone buying their TyTN IIs? I almost got burned on a purchase through eBay (decent rating, but had to file a claim to get my refund).
I looked at smart-mobile-gadgets.com which looks pretty legit. They even have the version with TomTom in stock, and a good price. However when I called the number it went to a generic 'the person @ is unavailable' voicemail box.
I know it's carried at the XDA store but there's no guarantees yet on versions (I want TomTom) and I need the phone sooner rather than later.
On top of that, I've looked into becomming a reseller but none of my distributors carry it either, and I'm getting a lot of runaround from HTC America.
Any suggestions or stories of good experiences of your purchase? Please share!
i bought my unit from supergps - but it was faulty so i sent it back - they said they couldnt reproduce the fault and sent it back to me - so ive now got back to them and have asked for my money back - we'll see what happens - i will probably be buying the next kaiser from someone else who has a bit of credibility to their name (i dunno, maybe expansys)
i bought mine from phonesource-usa.com's store front in las vegas. It had tomtom, uk plug, and no us adapter. no hassles. only caveat is the 14 day return policy. my unit has a bad pixel, but i didn't feel like fussing over it (assuming they would have exchanged it anyway).
i'd buy from them again.
the XDA-Store has a great Deal: http://store.xda-developers.com/HTCTyTNII-unlocked.html
Comes with TomTom and US adapter for the UK plug
I bought from MobilePlanet, myself. And got a discount for getting the AT&T plan through them (need to call their CS to get that).
I would ask a question, though - if you're in the US and don't already own maps for TomTom, you're likely to end up unable to use the taster version that's included. The maps you can select from are relatively small (the LA area is three maps, for example), and I haven't run into anyone who could purchase additional maps for the included version without popping for TomTom 6 anyway.
So if you're in the US, you might want to reduce the importance of TomTom on your purchase decision.
I bought my HTC TYTN II directly from Clove in London in September. It worked perfectly on AT&T. Pretty soon after getting it, I got the "solid red light" which meant the chip failed and had to be replaced. I understand from reading around these posts that it's quite a common occurrence.
In the interim I needed a device for work so my company bought me a Tilt. I finally got around to sending the TYTN II back to HTC to be repaired and it now works perfectly. It is in perfect physical condition and has the box, software (including Tom Tom), etc.
I don't need two of these babies - anyone want to buy the HTC version? Not sure what a fair price is but I'd think aroud $500 US. Reply or send me a private message if you are interested.
Thanks!
(p.s. sorry if these types of postings are not allowed, I looked around but didn't see any rule prohibiting it)
P.S. I am located in California.
I'm looking to purchase a new Tytn II (Kaiser)to use with ATT. Not the Tilt, because I want the front camera incase it is hacked to use for video conferencing(or 2-way video).
I think some members of XDA can help me save a couple hundred dollars by informing me of a cheap place where I can get one new. Maybe someone buys in bulk and sells cheap, etc.
here is my email for private assistance: [email protected]
Any tips will be appreciated.
Thanks a million.
You can't use video conferencing with AT&T. They don't offer the service, compatable phone or not.
I know you don't want the tilt because of the front camera thing but I got mine refurbished for 170 shipped from ATT because of Premiere. I'm in the Marine Corps by the way and you type in your work email address to see if your eligible for a discount.
Hi everyone!
I'm interested on buy this PDA, after a couple hours of search on the web I discover the alibaba(www.alibaba.com) it's also like ebay...So, i search on alibaba and found a lot of companies(most in china) solding HTC TyTN II.The company that maybe i choose to buy are Putian Hengwang Trade Co., Ltd.(http://hencan.en.alibaba.com/)there you will find a lot of mobile phones.I entered in contact with the sales manager and he told me the price of tytn II is $420 + $30 to send in Brazil.
Has anyone with some experience on buy products from chinaa?About this Company? Can I trust on her?Any information will be helpfull
I'm so crazy on buy the TyTN II, but my ded will not let me buy on expansys +-$800 + 60% of taxes
Thanks!!
Certainly does NOT look like a company I would trust.
I wouldn't trust that company... I mean, look at their "Products" section... they're selling shoes, jackets and handbags along with the phones and mp3 players. Don't get lured by a cheap price.
Don't do it, my friend bought a FAKE Samsung i718 from one of those companies (found on Alibaba)
well, i think think and think and i will buy htc tilt, its the same of tytn II but it doesn't have the frontal camera. on ebay i found +- $500,00. On the begining fo March I will put my hand on tilt!!!!
Thanks to asking my questions!!!!!!!!
Resist the temptation to buy the HTC's in China. There are too many copy-cat and "lost in production" items.
And do not forget that you do not buy a PSP or PMP if you want to use it for watching movies (untill a fix is out)
Good luck
afaik, HTC is still called Dopod here. I am working somewhere near Shanghai and none of my friend recognize the HTC on my kaiser until I told them it's same as Dopod.
Sure that you only want the TyTN II but not an at&t Tilt? You intend to make/receive a lot of video calls? If not, go ebay for Tilt and you'll save bunch of money over TyTN II. In additional, discuss w/ sellers if (s)he can declare it as a GIFT to void the import tax. 60% is highway robberries!
Funnies thought a bout China website.
Where the heck are Forty Thieves? Does it sell stuffs from thieves? That's really ridiculous name even though it's very popular in China and its CEO wants to beat google. Goodluck to another day-dreamer! LOL
I ordered a HTC TyTN II from MobilePC.com but when I got it the mini usb port did not work So they offered to give me a full refund or exchange for another phone since they are out of HTC TyTN II pocket pc's.
Where online can I get this phone for around $550 or less? I want to get it from a reliable source with returns or someone local in Phoenix, AZ where I can test it out.
Also Anyone recommend any other phones I might want to consider before buying a new TyTN II?
Thanks
CC
Buy one of mine. I have two and one is in perfect condition. It is sim/cid unlocked and comes with everything. Going to list it on ebay this week for 375.00.
Jeff
Is it a TyTN II or a tilt? Can anyone on here vouch for you? Just heard bad things buying on the forums.
Thanks
CC
It is a tilt. My ebay username is tonyandjeff if you want to look me up. I could list it on ebay and just have you buy if from there. That way you get all the buyer protection that ebay/paypal affords you.
Jeff
I found tilts online locally for $299-$350 so I am going to check those out first. If you want to drop your price then maybe.
Do you have skype installed on your Tilt? If so how does it work?
Thanks
CC
Locally would be the best bet for you. I do not use skype so I can't help you there
