Yes, $12 is a good deal! to bad I couldn't get that deal a year ago. I have since moved on to the 8gb Micro SD and find anything less than 4gb useless to me as I cant fit all the music and movies on it.

WOWZERS, I wish I was leet enough to get a 8gb. I find that I can't watch a ton of movies on the phone so I don't carry a lot of them, I can stream my music and movies via orbit and sirius, etc etc. So 2gb is enough. Now I will have a spare card.
I have (2) 1gb, (1) 2gb, (1) 4gb, and (1) 8gb Micro SD cards and I'm sure I'll get the next larger one that comes out just because I like making my Tilt happy. So I don't spoil myself, I spoil my Tilt...

seems good if its not fake,can always try researching a bunch of estores and compare prices or use pricewatcher or pricegrabber,etc to find best price.if you arent worried if you could be spending a lil bit over what its worth then go for it

thats a good price. Make sure that card wasn't anwhere near the fires of Mordor in Frodos pocket or something. That's hella cheap though.

Meritline is an awesome site. I order tons of stuff from there (especially their 3 packs of HDMI cables, usually with coupon for 6.99)
But there shipping is quite slow unless you live close to California. or can wait for things to arrive from the Far East. (Hong Kong, Singapore, China)
The other thing is their customer service is top notch!
For just a couple more dollars you can get one from Newegg if you are in a hurry...
I got a class 2, 8 GB card at my local electronics store for $17. Don't waste money/effort getting your hands on a class six because the Hero won't read it at it's native speed.

That is false, and frankly I'm damned sick of hearing that BS repeated over and over. The "class 2" thing comes entirely second-hand from some user who apparently got a note from a random low-level customer service rep saying something to that effect. Well it's not true.

The Hero is fully capable of exceeding the read and write capacities of a Class 2 card. My Hero maxes out at about 2.5 - 3 MB/s writing to the included Class 2 card, but easily reaches 6-8 MB/s using my aftermarket Class 6 card.
Definitely, definitely, definitely get a Class 6 card, whatever size you buy. It's absolutely worth it.
Anyway, NewEgg will ship you an 8GB Class 6 card from the US for $22.95. I'd recommend that instead.

Assuming you mean the Transcend card, I got it at amazon at roughly the same price after shipping...and I'll +1 that recommendation.

Even if that wer the case (which is not), then you try and buy stuff hard proofing it for the future, so the logical way would be to buy a class six card, which you can use when in the future you dont have a Hero anymore and do have a phone that "supports" class six.
Even less expensive!
Meritline has another brand Class 6 8GB for a dollar less (with shipping)! Only $18.45.

This is not a deal. If you think it's a deal you're new to the internet. I got a SanDisk 8GB Micro SDHC Class 6 for $18 shipped from new egg. Keep your sights on dealnews.com for micro sdhc deals.
On top of that Meritline is good but has insanely cheaply-built knock-offish type stuff. Got my sdhc card reader from them for $0.98 shipped. See what I'm saying here?

His was also Sandisk, that's noteworthy.
I know a lot of people have good luck with Trancend, Adata, etc... but I try my hardest to stick with Kingston or Sandisk for my SD cards.

yeah but I paid $74 bucks for the one i got now...so I figured hell, returning it and throwing the extra 26 bucks plus shipping with it couldn't hurt anything, IDK, I might just keep it, and when the time comes (upgrade phone) go out and buy the 10 class as well, and just have two kick ass 16GB sdcards for dual booting

haha thats true 24$ more is nothing for what you're supposdly getting, if that's the case might as well go for it, and see how it goes.
Is it worth getting a class 6 sd card?
I don't use aps2sd atm or swap or JIT and my phone is ok (no secondary partition). It's not worth doing with the card I have.
If I put a class 6 cad in and enable all the above would it make a difference?
Why are you guys getting 8GB cards? I don't even use half of my 2GB.

Most people store more on their SD card then you probably do. For example I have nearly 16 different ROMS at any given time stored on mine. Each ROM is about 40+ mb if not more so it adds up. Then I also store Apps, Wallpapers, Audio files (which is HUGE), and other things. You always want a little extra space.
A 4gb card is usually more than enough for the average user to still have plenty of space and not worry about filling up the card. BUT it all depends on your intentions for the card.

I got 1x16GB and 1X32GB both genuine, and very quick shipping (4-5 days to Belgium). The 32GB already 1 month working very smooth in my Trophy.
Unfortunately every large memory card I have purchased of Ebay has been fake, either 2gb reworked to show as a 32gb but still only holds 2gb or a cheap nasty card classed as Sandisk or such like, Im not saying these are fake but I would use Paypal where available, this at least gives you some protection.

Sure, you try shoving a full sized sd in the micro sd slot.
Even though that is obviously an SD card, that site has by far the cheapest cards in the last few months.
They had a Sandisk 32GB MicroSD class 4 for £44.99 the other month, which is the cheapest genuine card from a trusted retailer I have seen.
