[Q] PPC Limewire?

I know there is a few bitorrent apps, but I am looking for a lime wire app. I found Pocket G2 Pro but it is def dead as I think the last update was made in 05 or 06. I just think the phones are getting fast enough to really start using software like this.

it's like a simple kazaa... try it and love it!

First off most of the big cellular providers are monitoring usage of this sort and will not hesitate to cancel your phone plan if they find you using such software. AT&T is a big one, they have even put out press releases about this on their site. I wouldn't be suprised if you will eventually see such applications blocked from being used on devices and data cards.

blocked? that's nonsense... p2p is legal the only thing that's not is the things the people choose to share... but you don't have to try it. Im just tryin' to help people that are asking for something.

I would because of the legal ramifications as well as the impossibility. How do you "block" an application from being on a data card? You don't block applications from being on a hdd. You aren't blocking it from being on a flash drive either. Now blocking ports an app uses is another thing, but even then, it's as simple as using another port.

Its ridiculous to say that this thread should not be posted... If it’s not illegal it’s a valid topic and a question.
And besides why would someone care about one wanting to run any software on his ppc if its not against the law… (and frankly I wouldn’t care if it was against some law I dont work for the police, but that’s just me and a totally other matter)

Please link to this Press Release. That would be unreal. I pay for a teathering plan and if they started terminating people for using legal software I would imagine it would be a law suite. I use Torrent software on my phone racking up Gigs of downloads and never heard a peep out of ATT. I don't see why this is such an out there request. I want to make this phone like a full PC, with TV out, then a wireless keyboard and mouse.

ok tht pocketg2 ware has one glitch I feel
its unable to download beyond approximately 17MB of any file it downloads .tht software crashes and requires a soft reset..
anyone else facing da prob??

man this is a must have application i use it all the time ever since i upgraded to a verizon smartphone i missed the ability to download music on the go the only thing is that this app is free so it makes it a million times better thanks alot i didnt think an application like this existed thanks man it really helps

i have the same problem i havent tried it yet but i think that if you install it to the memory card you can download the files there and save space and keep them there

I also would welcome such an app......

Me too, would be nice to, upon a peer asking about a track etc, to be able to download it in a few seconds or minutes.
Lime/frostwire is open source and Java based, shouldn't be too hard to port it to wm java.

It still needs alot of work, but im not sure if its worth the effort.
That is why I release this thread with a xperimental rom to play with, to see if ppl wants this application.
If many enough wants this, I will work more on it.
I dont need reports on in.ex audiomanager dont fit screen and stuff like that, those will be resized when and if I continue work on this

what is different to you other ROM IT-Xperience 3.5?

Both blue and black are equally good, in my humble opinion. Wouldn't it be great if we can switch from blue to black and vice versa when we feel like it? I flashed the 3.51 rom, and installed the original black manila skin. Now I cannot change it back. Lol nvm black works fine.
Anyway, if there are advantages of M2D over tf3d (such as faster performance etc etc), then it would be worth trying.

i never tested m2d on a wvga screen but on my wizard (qvga 195mhz) it performs really well scrolling between screens is smoother and the quick dialer is much more usful then tf3d. tf3d looks better though

mm, yea possibly..but it will take quite some work...easier to cook it.

yeah, Its basicly same as 3.5.
but after customization, you need to manually reset device, It dont reset itself, other then that, it should work out.
but m2d is still in very early stages, but its an ok app.
Im more into tf3d, I would like to have footprints, but im sure that will be implemented in next versions of tf3d, we just have to wait for it

I was hoping that a ROM cooker would consider TF2D instead of TF3D, purely from a performance point of view. I've tried TF3D using cabs and I thought the phone felt more sluggish than before. If TF2D is less resource intensive then I'll gladly sacrifice some eye-candy for a more responsive application.

its not so responcive as you might think, tf2d is using high amounts of recourses.
I cooked this rom to test how it is, its not ready for daily use as it is now, I need to work alot on it if it is to be used on a daily basis

tf3d when cooked in is much faster than the cabbed one
its faster than tf2d was on my athena
itje have you managed to ge the new camera app talking to the x1 I had a look and it didn't want to work, or is it possible to use the se cam app? I didn't try that admittedly..

nah, have not tried, and it will aquire alot of work making it wvga in the first place

forgive my noobishness but how come m2d and tf3d work so much better and faster when cooked rather than cabbed? that would make a cabbed version quite usless
are there any practical ways of making the manually installed or cabbed versions work as well as the cooked version?

Installing the CABbed version can be done without HARD_SPL-ing and flashing the phone. Installing a CAB can be considered safer, and gives no problem with the manifacturer warranty.
That's why some people (including me until last month...) often prefer to use a slower but safer CAB version.

There wont be a full working cab with manila, there are to much other packages that needs to be installed or rather cooked, that now is tightly integrated in manila. And to install all that stuff via cabs will be way to much.
The mods will be available as a cab, but can only be installed on top of a system that has wm6.5 and manila 2.5 (newer versions) allready cooked in.
And stock SEUS 6.1 roms will most likely not work as this is build around a 6.5 system.
And besides, this system has a very high system load, its very heavy on ram.

Wow, full landscape support on Manila 2.5 - sounds exciting...
The only feature I will miss is Smabergs actionscreen, which saves a lot of time making notes, appointments etc.
Maybe sometimes you two get together with smaberg - this would be the perfect team for perfect roms !

I have tried a LOT of the ROMs here over the past month. I've only been using this one for an hour or so now, but I will say this - IT IS BY FAR THE FASTEST ROM I have used thus far. My device is snappier than the day I bough it from T-Mobile. I will advise if I run into any bugs. Thus far, I've found none.

Looking good, one question, how to disable manila start menu all together?

Maybe i'm the only one here but i've been up and down your site and all it does is link u to a page with a name. No download link. Maybe I'm just missing the obvious here.

Apparently there has to be some sort of registration before we can download. Isn't this getting kinda redundant. You have to register on XDA to view the txt then u have register on another site to download the rom.. Just my personal opinion

Same here. Unless we need to register but if thats the case then i will not try it sorry but if everyone keeps on doing that we all have like 10 different acounts in 10 different sites to go. That makes no sense since all roms are posted here and then linked to other sites.

Nice ROM, pretty good speed and aesthetics. I changed the Start menu back to the 6.5 menu, but that's my personal preference.
A small request - is there a way to turn off the current 'task manager' where it puts the icons near the start menu icon? I'd like to just use the standard Task Manager.

How did u change the start menu back to 6.5? I cant find the option to do that?

Also wifi does not auto start after reset. Have to be turn on manually

I used your Rom on the Kaiser and it was superb! Great to see your contributing to Rhodium, however I've registered onto your site, and I too cant find a download link, do I have to contribute or pay for a link?

I was wondering the same thing... it would probably be a better idea to just link to where schaps posted it. Credit should be given to schaps, too... I think people are getting the idea that the op is involved with development.

Well firstly no I didnt as I didnt know who schaps was or that he was a dev here. Second I put in by brackets that it was by TouchXperience, at no point did I lay claim to it so if people got impression I was dev then its down to them.
Anyway I've edited it with dev and homepage now so that should curtail the confusion if there was any.

It's great to see that schaps is developing for wp7. He is a great developer. His new Windows Phone Device Manager looks like it will be great... it will take away the need for chevron. If you guys like this app, go to his website at www.touchxperience.com and check out all his work... maybe donate to support his development. Schaps is also the developer of touchxplorer which all of us use on wp7.
For newer members of xda who don't know of schaps, he was an important developer for the winmo community here, but hasn't been too close to the scene here for the last year or 2. From the looks of it he will be just as important to wp7 development, so lets support him so he can help the wp7 community do great things.

This is common and not related to this program.
You need to unlock your phone again because you didnt unlock it properly in first place. You also need to do reg hack so it doesnt re-lock.
There is also a version of chevron that doenst have a 10 app deploy limit.
Unlock using this guide..

(When you have deployed XBMODeployer to phone remember to run it on phone manually, unless you use TOMS deployer which will automatically run it once deployed. This is where most people f*ck up and end up getting relocked.)

Im not sure if the ones on XDA are the ones with limit or not but this is the one I used and havent had any limit on app deployment.

Hi, if I create an new theme for #000000 I do get a nice gray brown not black theme. After that I can no longer use Internet Explorer crashes constantly from. Why?

Well why did Julien Schapman not release it on XDA? Well the copy is for the REAL WP7 and not for the LEO7/wp7 copy, so that proably why it has never been posted. But I am lead to believe that it could crash you Leo7/wp7 mobile, so dont download and use until this has been confirmed by the Dev himself.
He has been informed about this, so will wait for his reply about using the Real WP7 copy
