Hi,
I want to replace my cracked LCD. I've combed the site and a number of posts suggested going through NJbridges for a replacement screen -- but he is not responding to PMs and his site is down -- does he still carry them.
Alternatively, I can go through Ebay and get one from Hong Kong/China. but there are indications that some of them don't fit (e.g., cnn.cn). I want to go through these folks: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI....s=algo=SI&its=I%2BIA&itu=IA%2BUCI&otn=4&ps=42
any experiences with them ? Any other reliable sources?
thanks - MN

Does anyone know where I can pick up a new screen. For the Kaiser (VarioIII)
there are multiple places just to a search in this same kaiser forum, there are some recent updates to some of the threads, (from what i have seen/used 2-3 reliable sources)
Hi,
my wife and I had the same problem with her Kaiser - I've ordered a screen (both LCD and digitiser) off ebay. It should come with tools to assist in the sawp out as well. About £55 all up. I'll let you know how it goes!
I think www.cnn.cn sells them.
I believe PPCtechs will replace the screen for you for like $150.
Following up on my earlier post, I've just finished replacing the cracked screen on my wife's Kaiser. Worked first time and we are both now back up and running with our Kaiser's (her's a bit worse for wear). The screen swap took about an hour and worked first time (and much easier than the replacement I did on my O2 XDA years ago) - immesurably helped by the PDF instructions posted on this site. Thanks greatly!
I bought my screen from Sandymobiles (on ebay) and it was about £55. It was speedily dispatched, well packaged and came with two of the three tools that I needed to due the full replacement. But there are other sellers out there. Just make sure you know if you need both the LCD and the digitiser. I just went for replacing both to simplify things.
How is it? Like new?
I am not really afraid of digging in and taking it apart if it isn't too difficult. I am just aggravated with myself that I broke it.
Where should i find the best deal on a replacment LCD\touchscreen for my tytn II.. mines wacked out and not workin?
there are some on ebay for 59-69 USD
and some US site for $169 http://www.pocketpctechs.com/main~u...II+LCD+&;+Touchscreen+Replacement+Service.htm
anyone had to replace one? mines not responding. i see a chip, and maybee a crack on mine (cleaned it too hard i guess )
I would rather get a quality item
*Disclaimer* While I've never used this company personally, it seems that cnn.cn is rather reputable 'round these parts: /*disclaimer*

edit: seems the screen is out of stock...

Bump for this site as well. Quick turn around and i found someone local to install it for $15
Hi all,
My girlfriend has a MDA Vario III with a broken screen. The touchscreen is in tact but the screen itself is broken. Does anyone in Holland knows someone or a (online) shop who can fix this? Or if anyone has a service manual please let me know so i can order a screen and try to fix it myself.
TIA!!!
www.mikechannon.net
It's really easy to open and replace the screen in these. I've opened mine a few times, no problems.
Thanks so much for the manual. It really helps. I think i can do it myself. I have opend and fixed many Nokia phones but never a HTC. With the manual it should work. TNX again !
Search on ebay and other online places like cnn.cn for the screen and use that manual to replace it. Should be easy if you have experience opening devices.
Good luck and enjoy!
oh also while your at it, you might want to do the "screen hack" which allows you to tilt the screen to a greater angle than normal. I think a guide for it is found in the wiki, if not i remember it being on mike channon's site.

Thanks. I was looking for a screen at the www. This one is cheap also.
Can you tell me if this site is safe?
I ordered rom them before and sometimes the shipping is average speed and sometimes its insanely fast (considering its coming from hong kong).
The only issue i had with them is once i ordered a screen for an N82, the package arrived but you can tell it was opened by customs and taped back together. Well they didnt do a good tape job and there was no lcd in it. I emailed cnn.cn several times with no reply, so i just called my bank and reversed my payment. So i guess just buy insurance when you ship it and you'll be fine.
Hi, this is my first post but I have been following this forum frequently. I want to say thanks in advance for any advice.
I dropped my X1 (a couple of times) and there is a lot of aesthetic damage. So, I was wondering a few things:
1. Can I purchase replacement parts; just the parts that are damaged?
2. If I can purchase replacement parts, can I purchase black parts? I currently have the silver X1 that I purchased from Best Buy and I wanted the black version. I figured if I am going to replace parts, I might be able to replace them with a black "body kit" maybe?
3. Is there a tutorial on this website (I've tried searching but I couldn't find anything) of how to replace the parts?
Once again, I want to say that I tried searching but I couldn't find anything (I hope I don't get yelled at for asking such a dumb question as my first post) and thanks.

Welcome to the posting brotherhood .
It really depends how good you are with electronics. If you fell confident enough to do the repairs yourself, then by all means, try it. Otherwise, purchase the parts and go to o a professional repair shop.

Thanks for the help, the videos definitely makes things easier. I'll post pics as soon as I begin to show the damage and then I'll take pics throughout the repair so I can post them.

I fairly confident that I can finish this myself and if I can't I refer to this forum; after all, this is a brotherhood, right?

--edit--
ok i bought it and gonna give it a try. this would be mine fourth full case changing on phones.
Hi All
I'm about to sell my kaiser but my daughter dropped it outside recently and it damaged the casing, so does anyone know where to get a replacement outer case (& buttons) from?
I've seen kits on ebay for around £35 and although they have everything I need they include a keyboard which I don't!
Can anyone help??
Thanks in advance
Have a look at this link:
http://cnn.cn/shop/p4550-tytn-kaiser-c-277_447.html
I see the whole assembly on eBay for £35 including buttons & keyboard. if it has more parts than you need simply resell them on xda or feeBay & you'll recoup some of the initial costs too.
Thanks mister b but unfortunately only the keypad appears to be in stock so maybe I am looking at £35 on feebay!
Unless I can sell it as it is of course
I have a friend looking for a Kaiser.
Post or PM me photos showing current condition network lock status, price ect & I will pass it on to him.
yep ok will do, just so you know it is fully boxed with unused accessories that came in the box and is unlocked completely so it can be loaded with whatever rom you choose from here. At the moment it has a DUTTY rom on it, win 6.1 I think.
I'll take some photos as soon as I can!
Hi
Just sent you an email with piccys
I've just checked and the rom is exactly what it says on my sig. I thought I might have changed it since I put my sig up but I haven't!!
