Since my car stereo is not working right now, and my favorite radio station streams over the internet, I was wondering if there is a way to listen to it using my Tilt.
I tried browsing to the website using my phone, and once I click the "Listen Live" link, I get a connection error. Any insight appreciated.
Radio Station: 93.3 WMMR
http://www.wmmr.com
Listen Live link:
http://gmppodcast.com/stream/WMMR
download gsplayer or tcpmp player. I listen to shoutcast on both of these.
I'm trying to listen to WHTZ-NY Z100...
http://www.z100.com/cc-common/streaming_onesite/index.html?refreshed=yes
They used to have an embedded link, but I think it's been changed to some dynamic link or password. Can anyone figure this out? It's a WMA stream, too.

I already had TCPMP installed, and I just tried gsplayer. Neither works unfortunately.
Can someone that has either of these programs working on this Kaiser try to connect to the stream I listed above?
Try going to the settings in TCPMP and checking the unchecked boxes in the file associations tab that pertain to what type of media you are trying to access or stream in your case...
Have you tried www.thestreamcenter.com/pda ?
Click on PA, then scroll to 93.3 WMMR
It worked for me using WMP.
I am able to stream a NJ station, WFMU through TCPMP, but I haven't had any luck with either of the other two stations mentioned in this thread. If you want to test out your player's streaming capability try http://mp3stream.wfmu.org
It appears that the links for both of the other stations mentioned in this thread load a player that in turn accesses the stream. If you can get the actual stream's URL I'm thinking it will load fine. Those URL's wont stream in WMP 11 on my PC either.
One thing I did notice about TCPMP is that it didn't initiate the internet link, I had to connect using IE and then start the stream. I was accessing via EDGE, don't know if you would need that step with WiFi or not.
Your sig says att. Did you uncheck the proxy in the connection setting manager and try it?
Winamp Remote works really well on my Tilt. It's not radio, but you can stream your music (and videos, though I haven't tried any yet) from your home computer right into Windows Media Player.
did you download the .dlls that tcpmp needs for this type of stuff and copy them to your windows directory?

To those that still have this problem, try installing flash Player 7 to your device (fp7_ppc_en) you can google it. Don't install it to your storage card. I tried and it am getting some sound and not the message to download flash player. I had already had flash player downloaded to the storage card.
Hope this helps.

I was able to find the stream on this site. After I click the link, WMP opens and starts to buffer, but then comes up with Failed.
Do I need to modify proxy settings in order for the stream to work from this site? And if so, will that affect any other web browsing? I do not use MEdia Net, so I'm not worried if it affects that.

Is it possible to watch youtube videos on my tilt? i go to youtube.com and click on a vid and it says file type invalid and it's showing real player as the program to play the video, i downloaded TCPMP, went through all the instructions to get it set up correctly, but still the same thing, is real player the default program? if so how do i change that? so windows media or TCPMP is the correct one? thanks
Either get vTap (google it) or HTC Streaming Media. It has been posted here before very recently.

Couldn't i just make TCPMP or windows media player the default player? would that work? if so were do i make either one the default player, i couldn't find it in either program.
The HTC Streaming Media proggy will fix your problem. vTap is a self-contained app that pulls videos off google and youtube. Take yer pick.
just go to www.ytpocket.com it works the best out of all the you tube solutions ive tried
you just need tcpmp and flash bundle. Search on this forum. I've installed them and working youtube and all other flash base website playing fine on my tilt. Just browse through youtube, click on the video, tcpmp just opened by itself and play the video.
Thanks for the help, i've give these ideas a shot.
Tap http://m.youtube.com/ in your mobile browser. Vids will automatically launch in Streaming Media.
Anyone have a link to HTC Streaming Media download? i did a search but didn't see it.

ok, i've tried eveything mentioned here and some things mentioned on other threads and i still cant get youtube to work, the only thing i haven't tried is vtap and the only reason why is because when i go to install it on my TILT, i get an error that says " the file Vtap_pcc" can not be opened. either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of it's componets can not be found.
I deleted it from my tilt and tried it again, i made sure it was from the tilt selection on the vtap site, but still same error, Anyone able to help me with this, i've been working on this issue going on 3 days now.
also the error i'm getting when i go to youtube and click on a video link is "failed to conect to network" it opens up the streaming media player, and after about 5-10 seconds i get that error and it closes out.
did you find the HTC streaming media cab? That's what fixed it for me. vtap also works quite good.
I don't know if you tried the link I put above. Also look at this one: LINK
i used ytpocket on my wizard and now my kaiser. you can stream or download. works perfectly
I have HTC Streaming Media pre-installed on my Vario. I have since installed RealPlayer.
Now when I click on a YouTube video in IE nothing happens.
If I do it in Opera it tries to load the video in RealPlayer and fails with "Request failed".
How can I make the videos load in the HTC Player instead?
Ok I've got a tilt, so I've got the HTC Media player installed and I can now access m.youtube.com with no problems. However I would like to have access to the classic youtube.com however when I click a video it takes me to an error page saying to install flash player etc etc
What's the deal? Did I miss something? I thought the HTC player would handle standard youtube as well
I navigate to the mobile version of youtube. OK.
I find the thumbnail of the video i want. OK.
My tilt opens HTC Streaming media program. OK.
PROBLEM:
Get's stuck on connecting..... for hours and hours.
My connection is perfect.
Whats the problem?
Im having the same problem... Ive looked around... everyone says the answers are there if you search but Im not seeing it... Im not getting any videos from online sites to work...
I visit newsarama frequently and I dont even see that a video exists in the PIE....

I am having a similar problem. I installed Opera. when i go to YouTube using IE dont have a problem watching video TCPMP launchs and everything is great... but when i go to youtube using Opera i am rerouted to myoutube.com, when i click on the video, Streaming Media launchs and it just hangs there. Is there a reason why it doesnt work with opera. Thanks, and again sorry because i am pretty new at this. I am also running Dutty's WM6.1 and i have assossiated TCPMP with the 3gp files. any idea why Streaming Media is still launching. I have installed the files above and am still having the same problem.
thanks
Problem in streaming media on you tube
hi every1. can any1 sort out my problem. actualy i have streaming media software in my XDA and it was working alrite but after installing real player it stopped working with youtube.com. i have even uninstalled real player and deleted its aplication backup but still having problem. when i click any video on youtube.com it doesnt respond a bit. i will wait for any expert response. thanx
Youtube = TCPMP + FlashVideoBundle
Mobile Youtube = Streaming Media (Which is Real Player with HTC's wrapper)
For Mobile Youtube via HTCSMP you need to change your connection settings in the app. to MediaNet for AT&T or whatever you browse the net with.
Thanks GSLEON3,
However here is where i stand. If i go to Youtube.com everything is fine. however when i got to m,youtube.com and go to launch a clip. all that happens is that streaming Media Launches and hangs. This happens wheather i am connect via wifi or 3G.
If i go to Streaming Media ->menu->options->network
No matter how many times i change it to media net, everytime i go back, it says "The Internet"
Under Settings->Connections->Manage existing connections->Proxy Settings
The Box that says "This network uses a proxy server to connect to the internet" is NOT checked.
Under Settings->Connections->advanced->Select Network, both say Media Net
Under Settings->HSDPA, The Turn on HSDPA box is NOT checked.(not really sure what that is for)
I have no idea why i cant get the m.youtube.com vids to play ... any idea ?
Thanks

from what Ive read, youtube videos wont play with Opera Mini because that browser doesn't support flash videos as yet.
its is not opera mini, its mobile, and the problem also happens in IE. Flash is installed and works well
I think what i need is a copy of Streaming Media 3, I think reinstalling it will fix my problem. However i need something other that the IMAX 5?
m.youtube.com will not work with Dutty's WM6.1 rom
Hello,
I agree with my fellow posters, their is a huge difference between the full youtube website and the mobile youtube website. I think something is wrong with the HTC streaming player in the Dutty's WM6.1. Rom.
After clicking the thumbnail i get the message, you are about to go online. And then it starts "Streaming Media" with an endless "Connecting" message.
Had someone any luck with Dutty's rom to get m.youtube.com running?
Regards Tom

same problem here. I'm using Streaming Media 3.00 (build 1001.711). Still looking for a solution.
Hey,
I just managed to solve my problem. I downloaded the HTC Streaming Media CAB file and installed it, overwriting the installation with the Dutty 6.1 rom. Now it works perfectly fine for me.

You might want to follow my articles, they're cross-posted to the General forum so you don't even need to go to another forum / page. In some of them, I've pretty thoroghly explained why this happens: the RTSP protocol doesn't work in a firewalled environment.
Solution: go for a non-RTSP-based solution like CorePlayer, the TCPMP-based plug-in and other playback solutions etc.
Read my YouTube Bible for more info: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=387986

Note that, if you are firewalled, it won't work, regardless of the ROM versuion.
I am runnig duttys wm 6.1 rom and I am having problems with streaming media. Whenever I try to play a video streaming media opens up and does nothing. Then when you press connect a filed pops up to enter a url. On my previous roms I just had to paste the url in and it usually worked. I am not sure if this issue has ever been resolved. I don't understand why the player fails to open it on the first try. Anyway the real problem I am having now is that the player fails to connect to the internet. I am using media net as my default data connection, unfortunately when I go to change the connection setting to media net, (it is currently set to "the internet") its does not save. As soon as I press ok and return to the settings menu it remains on the internet connection. I also tried editing other settings and none seem to remain changed. I am not sure if this is just an issue with this rom, or this build of the htc streaming media software. Any fix for this issue would be much appreciated, but I am willing to remove and avoid using this software entirely. The only thing is that I don't know how to remove or disable it as is is not listed as an installed program. So if anyone can help me out with that, that would be great.
get the flashvideo bundle and install tcpmp first, cabs and step by step instructions are in the wiki
Does anyone know why TCPMP will not open when accessing mobile Youtube videos? When I try to open a link at m.youtube the stock HTC "Steaming Media" player always opens.
I have:
-a HTC S730
-WM6
-TCPMP Ver. .72RC1
-Installed FLV Plugin 0.4.2
-Associated Files-Flash Video, MMS Protocol, Mpeg, HTTP, AIF, M3U, NSV, OGG, Matroska, Musepack and PLS -and at one point all files
-Done a soft reset
-uninstalled and reinstalled both TCPMP and the plugin
I expect that the TCPMP would open...?? Please correct me if Im wrong.
The reason I want to use the TCPMP player vs the Streaming Media player is that the Streaming Media player has poor A/V quality and Im hoping TCPMP will improve it. Thanks.
You might want to take a look in This thread, might help.
Thanks for the reply. Ive read through the tread, different problem.
Ive downloaded the files and followed the instructions @ ytpocket again. Still opening files with Streaming Media..!!!! Its driving me nuts.
Hmm, if no one has responded by time I wake up i'll take a peak into it I never really use You Tube on my phone and if I do I find the default to be sufficient.
In the mean time double check all the menu options in it to see if you can change the default association, I know you mentioned associated files but the program needs to tell the OS that it will take over instead of the other, this might be accomplished with a simple registry change but again not sure.
