I'm trying upgrade my MTeoR to WM6. I read a fair bit on all the bits to try, inlcuding using the power and camera buttions to get into the loader, at best my phone just goes stripey. I've formatted my memory card to FAT 32, still no luck. I've renamed the image files to breeimg.nbh and tried it from the root on my phone as well as on the storage card but not luck. I then tried using the ROM updater from version 1.34 and this got me the furthest yet, it gets to the loading stage and up to 2% and then I get the following error msg "This NBF file cannot be used for your Smartphone. Please get a newer NBF file." Could someone please post a sample nbf file or tell me how to get past this? I can't find any NBF file on my pc.

How do you unlock the bootloader so that a tool like mttyxxx.exe can be used to apply *.bin images :?:
Does anyone have insight into how this bootloader lock is done? Is there any information about it that I can read. I have searched high and low everywhere and I am not finding anything.
Same here. I assume this is the problem since I get "Not allowed" running mtty.
I've read some people are using SD - is that a workaround not having to unlock the bootloader?
it is much easier to flash your device without MTTY. You can convert any type of update to NBF file and use normal blueangel update utility to flash it.
By the way, where all of you are getting these BIN files?
convert .bin file to .nbf
mamaich can you please provide the tool to convert .bin file to .nbf file?
Mine is from MS PB. Just trying to play with it to see what I can do. Problem is I can't flash the device since PB romimage makes bin formats. How do you convert these?
Anyone?
Ok, a blind leading a blind I'm new to this. I'm trying to read up what the options are available. There seems to be different ways for different types of devices.
Here's my current understanding.
If the bootloder is locked there seems to be 2 workarounds.
1. create an NBF file and use the BA update utility. converting the bin to a nbf file seems tricky. It depends on the .bin file if it has a bootloader or not. There is a utility called splitrom that I think can do the trick - you need to know what's in your bin and if it has a bootloader. That's what I'm currently trying to understand. Not sure how yet.
2. Boot from an SD card. I was first looking at a tool called OSImageTool. However I was reading some posts and from what I understand it doesn't work wth BA. I tried it anyway but was not able to get the device to boot from the SD - I think I need a bootloader or OSImageTool simply is not for BA. I'm now looking at a utility called NTRW.
I was reading somewhere that people have had success with 2.
Hopefully someone can correct me if I'm leading you in the wrong direction...
Hi!
Trying to figure out how to upgrade but I am missing something.
I downloaded the file JASJAR_WWE_11353_137_10301.EXE.
When I run it it gives me a country ID Error 120
Following other posts I downloaded the file MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe which gives me the error missing run.dll.
In another post it says to put the MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe in the same directory of the JASJAR_WWE_11353_137_10301.EXE.
BUT THE JASJAR_WWE_11353_137_10301.EXE DOES NOT CREATE ANY FILE NOR DIRECTORY.
WHERE THE HELL ARE THOSE EXTRACTED FILES???
P.S. What a nightmare.
I don't want to be rude but if you don't know how to unpack those files - you shouldn't be doing this.
And why do want to put a JJ rom on a wizard?
no offence...are you on crack or somethin?
jasjar ROM into k-jam device?! :?
My Qtek 9090 Dead after or in time flashing
I try .....
1. Flash with NO_ID
2.TRy via romupdate and nb1-file
3. Try via I-mate and T-mobile roms includes NO_iD
and nothing... only dark screen and USB or Serial string......
HELp plz.
...... and IF I insert in it SD card string serial no change after put him in cradle.....
What you can try.
if you have the seral message on your screen then just replace it in cradel and rerun the no_id application.
Are you SURE that you are using a valid ship.exe file and that you have extracted all the files and are following the upgrade instructions for 1.42 as per wilki.

We have had a few (very few) that were not able to do an upgrade form thier pc. Not sure if this is a USB issue or software but after all the suggestions that we gave these people and none of them worked all they had to do was move over to a different pc and it worked.
So we know that the wiki 1.42 upgrade page works, that the file works and that the instructions are correct. Best for you is to try a different pc.
I've tried to do a hard reset but it doesn't do anything. I can enter bootloader screen though. Is the wiki correct about hard reset being the two soft keys and the soft reset button?
Please help! I'm stuck without a phone!
The wiki is correct about that, but if that won't fix it I suggest flashing a new firmware to your phone from the microSD card. You can follow the instructions from the wiki on how to do that, just one thing that it leaves out: you must format the microSD card to FAT32 file system, most come set to the FAT file system.
This has saved me when my device couldn't boot after a bad flash, in fact I now do all of my flashes using this method and they never fail. Good luck!
Is there a HardSPL file to run from the MicroSD card?
Download HardSPL, extract the files, find the .nbh file, then follow the wiki instructions of renaming it to KAISIMG.nbh. That will work fine.
There only seems to be one file...an exe....
You have to run the .exe file to extract its' contents. In the folder that it extracts to you can find the .nbh file.
Sorry to pester you but which file do I rename...
sspl-kais
or
kaiser-hardspl
?
Actually both are required, first do the sslp file, then the hardSPL file.
So I rename the SSPL file and enter bootloader...
then repeat for the other file?
That is correct.
Thanks for your help.
For some reason when I format the MicroSD to FAT32 and copy the file over (and rename it) it enters bootloader and quickly accesses the card only to say something to the affect of no file found and then return to the bootloader screen.
It will only detect it the file if 3 things happen: it must be fat32, the file must be named KAISIMG.nbh exactly, including the caps, or it will not be detected, and the file must be valid for your phone. If the sspl isn't working, try just the hardSPL.
If all else fails, put the official AT&T firmware back on the phone (it can be found in the FTP under the wiki), then flash hardSPL from your PC.
down load the att rom found here ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Uploads/Kaiser/Roms/ run the update.
download pof/olipros hard spl found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=334679
no more worries, have fun flashing all the roms you want.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=446070
Per the above thread, here is where I am:
Step 1 (preparations)
DONE
Step 2
-I formatted a card with FAT32 ("e:/ fs: fat32") method on XP
-downloaded a ROM from here (Touch-IT Xperience v2.1)
-extracted the files
-renamed the .nbh file "Kovsimg.nbh"
-copied Kovsimg.nbh to the card detailed above
-inserted card into X1i
-powered off X1i
-entered bootloader mode
From there, the 4 color screen comes up and turns white. Phone says it can't find the image. returns to 4 color screen and says "serial" in the bottom color bar. I can pull the battery out and phone reverts. I'm not SUPER technical, so I don't know what I am doing wrong. Any ideas?
get the harspl app and flash it, after that it will get in to bootmode and automaticly flash from your card

I already have HardSPL on the phone. That was included in step 1 of the referenced link.
Try it again when the bootloader comes up does it say Olinex xxxx? If not then it didnt flash correctly.
Files are located here also:

It did say Olinex!
Hmm... it must not have flashed correctly then. What causes that usually? I'll try again later tonight. Thanks for the heads up, guys!
if it's not finding the image file the hardspl won't make any difference, but it sounds like you've got that stage sorted.
I'm presuming the file isn't named correctly. Double/triple/quadruple check the file name on the card and that the file is on the root of the card. (I managed to get a space into a nbh file today, it didn't pick it up).
How are you copying the file across to the card? double check that its the same size on the card as it is where you downloaded it. However even if it isn't I still think that the bootloader will find it.
Try re-extracting it and copying it again.

my EXACT path is "E:/Kovsimg.nbh" where E:/ is my SD card. File is verified on the card as same size as on the computer. I copied it with the drag and drop method between windows on XP.
I'm charging up the phone again to reload HardSPL
Thanks guys! Now running Xperience v2.1 and it is SO much better than stock!
What was the issue? Glad you got it sorted.
