Orange TyTN II troubles - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

Hi there folks. Appreciate you having a look here, and bear with me while I try to explain everything as I am unsure what on earth is wrong with my phone.
Firstly, I have read pretty much everything that the wiki and stickies and various other posts have pointed me to before making this post, so I am going to utterly hate myself if you guys point me in the correct direction within a couple minutes. I don't think that will happen, but none the less!
Secondly, as the title says, I am running a UK HTC TyTN II with boot SPL 1.81.0000. I have Radio 1.27.14.35.
I only got my phone on Weds of last week. After reading various bits, I tried installing HardSPL, and got the white screen of death. I didnt have time at that time to find the answer, but have subsiquently located it. Shortly after that I located and installed KaiserTweak, and then Resco explorer. Now, both these programs were installed, but I made no changes to anything with them.
After a little bit of searching I found the white screen fix. Great I thought! So went ahead and downloaded the files and stuck them on my PDA. When I tried to run them, they would not run. The error tells me that they are not signed or corrupt.
Ok, so I thought I would try and fix the signiture issue as that is most likely the problem. So I try to run KaiserTweak. No joy. I try to run Resco. No joy. Neither program will do anything. Next I try to re-install either of these. Nothing. Wont work. Either tells me the same thing as the SPLs do (invalid signiture or corrupt) in the case of KaiserTweak, or tells me the installs have failed in the case of Resco.
Now I have tried to install anything and everything since this, and not one thing will install. Nothing. It wont let me change anything or get to anything. I have tried hard resetting the phone, nothing changes. The phone still acts like it did the day I bought it, and as most Orange users will know, they have destroyed any useful software that HTC has used in order to rebrand it with their OS. I would dearly love to get another cab on there, but I am at a loss as to figure out how to get past this stuck phone?!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Radio Upgrade rendered PDA2K useless! Newbie needs help!

Well, I took a chance and this is what I get. It's 10:46pm and I have a PDA2k that won't even turn on now. Removed the battery and the whole thing.
Here's what happened, I have a PDA2K from Expansys. I decided to upgrade my radio from .06 to .10. I read every article regarding this and backing up very well. I took the instructions from http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_Radio_1.12_Upgrade and proceeded with the backup. I did the soft reset, and put my system in the cradle. A hot-sync took place. I then went to my folder on my desktop, clicked BAupgradeut.exe and I got the screen that popped up. I followed the instructions and clicked ok. It read my old configuration and what was going to be changed, and I clicked next. Up popped a screen saying checking information on your device...then my Active Sync shutdown, XP detected a new device and said it was ready to use. I noticed that the power light (charge light) on my PDA2k went out (yet there's power to the outlet) and Active Sync never came back on. I thought "this can't be good" but proceeded to wait 20 minutes, tried to get active sync working again and it couldn't find my unit. I finally tried to kill baupgradeut (and it's still up and running with the same "checking your information" screen. I finally said screw it (after 25 minutes) and yanked my pda2k off the cradle. No power, can't do a hard reset...nothing works at all...its completely dead. Tried pulling the battery off for a couple minutes and that didn't help either.
I'm pretty stuck here and hope you guys can help me out. (Even though everyone is probably asleep.) So, I've got a really nice paper weight here. If anyone has any thoughts, pass them on over. I chose the 1.12.00 upgrade from the same page as I mentioned above if that helps. I guess my main concern is just being able to get some response from this thing. Right now I get NOTHING.
Thanks,
Tom
Now I feel like a silly twit! Turns out I had a grey screen and was in bootloader mode. Its not too bright in this room tonight and I didn't see that...could have something to do with the 4 Guinness I had. I noticed it when the light reflected off the screen. I checked the troubleshooting guide and discovered the "grey screen" problem.
I just finished the upgrade and am setting things up. Everything's just peachy.
Sorry about being such a baby. I have insurance on this too. I could have just run over it in my Land Rover and got a new one....those trucks really flatten things.
Question: I used Sprite to backup just before I did this. Can I restore without jacking anything up?
Thanks for what I'm sure would have been a lot of help and support.

Hermant - Thank you very much for your reply. I just wish it came 13 hours ago.
I found it on the xda-developers somewhere that someone else posted. I was trying to find your link which I stumbled upon before. But alas, I found something. It required that I use GetData before the upgrade, which I didn't do. I followed the rest of the directions (which was similar to your link) and everything is perfect. My Radio and BT upgrades are still there. Thanks again for the help! I bookmarked it this time

Tom,
Actually even i had found this link here but now i have tried it many times and it is working perfectly.
Glad that i could help someone since i have learnt a lot from this site so now is the time to give back.

upgrade gone wrong - HELP!!!

hi everyone. im new to the site. i'm amazed how much i never knew about my xda2i before i found this site. there are sooo many cool tools and stuff i'd never heard about. indeed, i wish i had found this site before i made a huge mistake!
i found an update for windows mobile 2005 and tried to use it to update my xda2i (which i now know is really called alpine). of course it didnt work out how i hoped. it ran through the whole process correctly. it erased the curent rom and - so it said - it wrote the new rtom to my device.
unfortunately my xda2i no longer works. the screen is blank and nothing seems to help. soft and hard reset dont work. i tried taking out the battery, and putting it in the cradle. the red light on the top right corner flashes when i do this. but still no joy. i tried re-loading the 2003 se rom but active sync wont detect my xda2i!!!
i cant get any other tools to work because they all seem to use active sync...
i was hoping there was a way to manually put my device into bootloader mode but i cant find anything on how to do this. if anyone can help it would be much appreciated!!!!
all sorted
well it looks like i was a bit premature in posting my problem. i've just been told how to manually put my alpine into bootloader mode. it worked a treat and i have no problems anymore. many thanks and once again im grateful to the have such a great resource as this site! i'll definitly donate next time i have some money in my paypal!
for anyone else having similar problems i'll just say how to put your device into bootloader mode as i had the hardest time finding it out. too many people assume this to be common sense and dont explain for all of us newbies! lol
simply hold down the power button, the select button (thats the directional pad pressed down centrally) and the reset button for a couple of seconds. this puts the alpine into bootloader mode.

need help extremely new

ive posted before but really didnt get the answer i was looking for. all of this pocket pc smart phone stuff is new to me. i have the cingular 8125. my first pocket pc and it is all new to me. im trying to get the htc touchflo on my 8125. im like a baby learning how to walk haha as desperate as it sounds i need like a walk through of simple (non pocket pc savvy) how to install it all and everything like someone to hold my hand haha. sorry to sound so desperate and needy but any help is extremely appreciated.
First, we need to know a bit more info...is your phone locked or unlocked...stock rom, etc.
Secondly assuming everything is stock, you need to use the search button and search for lokiwiz, follow the directions explicitly.
Thirdly, search in the WM6 Wiz section for the rom that has the touchflo added...
I too was new and thought that if I said help I'm new, I'd be flooded with answers...I quickly discovered that the reasons the answers wouldn't come is because I didn't give enough info about my phone. A stock wizard is different from an unlocked wizard, which is different from an unlocked wizard running a rom from someones kitchen, and if your phone is a G4 then that's a whole different animal, etc...get the idea?? So to help, more info is needed about the phone itself. Power off, reboot...on the first page that pops up, there will be a few lines of info...copy those down with the numbers corresponding with it, then get back to us. "Knowing is half the battle" (famous philosopher=GI Joe). Hope this answer helps you.
thankyou.
i already unlocked my phone and went through the whole process im just not sure where to go from there.
ipl-2.26
spl-2.26
gsm-02.25.11
os-2.26.20.2
i just need to install the wm6 and toughflo im asuming i dont want to mess my phone up thats why im asking for help. thanks again.

If you haven't flashed the T-Mobile OEM ROM yet and your IPL/SPL are still at 2.26, then you may not have unlocked your phone. I missed some of the reading first time around and this took me a while to catch, even though it was there in plain view. You may need to flash the Button ROM to get back to IPL 1.x as the lokiwiz only works with 1.x IPL.
Be carefull using the lokiwiz in the DOS window, and READ everything that comes up, especially notes like I/O error or unable to write, etc. . . If you try to flash a ROM and it appears that nothing has changed, then you're not unlocked, just going through the motions.
there is a thread here somewhere...unlocking for dummies or something like that...gives very detailed step by steps....follow this to the T. Then go to the WM6 threads section, choose the rom you want (download it), connect your phone via usb to the pc and fire up active sync. Run the loader to the rom you chose. The screen will go red and blue etc stripes and if done properly, a few minutes later it will say completed and reboot itself. DO NOT interrupt the loading process by disconnecting the usb before it's ready etc...re-install any third party apps or whatever, and you are good to go. NBo one can "hold your hand" you just need to try it until you do it. It's the only way to learn this stuff. Don't worry, I've thought I've bricked my phone so many times...MOST of the time, you can bring it back from the dead...unless you really fubar and rush things, don't read instructions properly, etc... good luck

Flashed without Hardspl

Ok so I think I have some sort of problem here. Previous Kaiser started to act up (hardware keys and keyboard stopped working even after a hardreset) so I took the measures needed to get the phone back to factory stock conditions. Got the refurbed tilt in the mail today and of course tried to get it to the way my previous tilt was. Here is where I think I went wrong.
I placed JumpSPL1.56-KAIS on my phone and ran it and got the tri-color screen and what not. I think after this step I was supposed to install hardspl onto the phone but I forgot that step and instead installed a rom instead. The rom installed but it was the wrong one (Dutty's Hybrid NO.7b TouchFlo Final vs the one I really wanted: Duttys_New_years_Rom_2k8_[DualTouch_v2]). At this point I noticed my error because I tried to do the same thing again but when it got the rom% loaded screen it just stayed at 0% and froze.
From here I went through the motions to install hardspl properly but got the same results as above (freezing at 0%). Is there any way to correct this? I would really like to switch this rom (not that it's bad, it's actually a very solid rom but not what I want). Thanks in advance for any advice!
*Edit* Also for some odd reason I have no sound from the phone when getting a phone call (and yes I checked the settings and it's not muted).
*EDIT* Ok I'm really sorry for starting this thread. I figured the problem out. It wasn't even hardspl I was trying to install. Not sure what is was. I got the correct file and installed and updated the rom. Sorry again.
you did many things wrong, but atleast its working now. I would bet all you needed to do was reset phone/computer. as far as the sound issue, it is found everywhere. It is the result of an incompatible radio.

Bootscreen WTF?

Okay, ive seriously tried about every possible thing on here to get my stupid phone to work but heres my situation.
The ATT Tilt i have was working great up until a couple months ago. At one point it just shut off and then went straight to the RGB screen with
KAIS1*0
SPL-1.56.000
CPLD-8
and "serial" on the bottom
Some of you might say "download HardSPL " or whatever and flash from the computer. Problem is I dont have ANY of the software or hardware that came with the phone. All i have is the phone and its charger. Thats it.
Ive tried flashing through the SD card, and it goes to the loading screen. I've used Dutty's, HyperDragon, and the original ROM as a test base. Hyper and Dutty's i renamed the RUU.nbh to KAISIMG.nbh and it goes to "Loading" and thats it. Ive even tried naming it KAISDIAG.nbh and still nothing. Stays there for a while but doesnt go anywhere. I dont know how long exactly its supposed to take to load the damn thing but every post ive seen makes me think that its just "It loads, flashes and you're done"
The furthest i got was with the original ROM i downloaded that was shipped with the phone. Not sure whether or not the version was correct but then again i have no idea what vers. my phone is or where to find the rom that works with it. Anyways, i used the shipped rom, named it KAISIMG.nbh loaded it, said Checking, then says "Not Allow" with some numbers n **** on the top (0028002), then resets back to the boot screen.
No, its not named KAISIMG.nbh.nbh im sure of it.
Its not a kingston sd or none of that.
Ive formatted, used fat32. (however, i cant make it allocate to 512. windows gives it a "default" allocation size which is unknown to me and i cant change it)
Whats wrong with this stupid phone.
Help me please.
ps. Ive searched the archives frivolously and havent really found anything that completely answers my question.
I solved my own problem.
The file i downloaded called "Tilt_RUU_Kaiser_CINGULAR_WWE_3.57.502.2_radio_sign_25.88.40.05_1.65.21.18_Ship.exe"
Fixed it.
Well sorta.
Since it was an exe i knew i couldnt use it, so i opened the whole thing with winrar, removed the RUU file, renamed it to KAISIMG.nbh and it worked fine!
Well thanks for all the good info throughout the site though. a MAJOR help for someone who thought their $600 phone took a **** on them.

Only problem is you still have your original 1.56 SPL but now have a WM 6.1 ROM so don't expect plain sailing until you properly update it fully (or have it reverted back to a full WM 6.0 installation).

Heres the software you can download, its all you really need.
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/help/synchronize/activesync45.mspx
Microsoft ActiveSync 4.5 is a new software update release for Windows Mobile powered devices that provides a great synchronization experience with Windows-powered PCs and Microsoft Outlook.
Note: Microsoft ActiveSync works only with Windows XP SP3 or earlier. If you have Windows Vista, your synchronization settings will be managed through the Windows Mobile Device Center. Windows Mobile Device Center is available through the Windows Mobile Device Center page.
Supported features
ActiveSync acts as the gateway between your Microsoft Windows-powered PC and Windows Mobile powered device and allows you to synchronize Microsoft Outlook information, Microsoft Office documents, pictures, music, videos and applications to and from your device.

****.

What gives now?
I just want the phone to work. Is there a WM6.0 i can download??
If so where?

Doesnt work for me. I DONT have hardSPL on my phone already, PLUS, i dont have the cables n things to flash it on my computer. I just want it to work normally!
Did you even read my post?
The screen STAYS on the tri-colored screen. Once i turn the phone on, it goes straight to it, and stays like that. I cant even power it off. I have to take the battery out. Soft Reset, just does that; Resets. Ive even managed to get a nbh. file that reflashes it to the original rom. Once prompted for the power button to reset, i press it and it goes right back into the boot screen.
I need a way to COMPLETELY redo my phone through SD.

Uh, don't tell us you don't have a standard mini USB cable anywhere... you get one with pretty much any computer device you'd buy. You don't need anything more. As said, do an effort or find your way yourself.
