I have searched this forum far and wide and still have not come to find the answer I am searching for. I have the amazing Aserg Wing Rom. The Text messages come linked or "threaded" where you have "conversations" and not individual text messages. Is there a way to get the individual text messages back? I really like the threaded texts, however I can view text messages sent from a while back. I need to be able to see a text from a few days ago or even a week back and I cannot. Any help, suggestions or solutions would be very much appreciated.
NOTE: I should also add that i have used the cab file to Disable SMS threading and it has not let me see them individually.
Well i dont knwo if you can do that without going back to WM 6.0 but i DO know there is an option to view older messages, when u scroll all the way to the top when u look at a conversation there is a link that says Older and lets yo view older messages
I know its not a complete solution but i hope it helps
I'm kind of torn between liking and hating the threaded SMS... it's kind of nice to have .. but its not 100%.
Also, I receive ALOT of mms pictures, and there's really no way to clear the MMS box without deleting the SMS box entirely... so it starts to fill up your main memory.
This is pretty much my dilema, I like seeing the threaded texts but when I do click the "Older" link it only goes back at most 20 texts. And like Duprade said you have to delete them simultaneously or the memory is FULL. This sucks because I love the ASERG Rom the most of the couple I've tried strictly on speed and stability alone and it only has threaded as an option. I dont want to switch a ROM for just this problem.
I bumped into this earlier, I haven't tried it, but it looks interesting.

Thats really cool I"m gonna have to check this out. Thanks bro. btw Ironically enough After I used the Disable threaded sms cab file 3 days later and a couple of Soft resets after it actually worked. So now my text messages are individual again. So now my problem has been solved. Aserg is the man! I have been a member for a while and I just wanna say that the creator of this website is genius! I have been addicted to XDA since October. Finally posted recently. hope to be in the Senior member ranks eventually.
Thanks for all the help guys.

well, if you log in to the forums, they announced that the server is having problems today, you can send emails, but you can't recieve.
If this mail works as advertised, it would kick ass, since It support IMAP, I and can check outside emails too, I would centralize all emails there.
But I want it to be reliable, true, if it doesn't work, is not good.
Lets give it a test run.
If anyone finds problems please report them here. That way we will know if its worth keeping.

OK, I've searched up and down, xda, win4mobile,
here is my deal,
I have the ATT Tilt,
flashed with htc's rom, ive been having trouble getting it to sync,
now that i have it synced, it won't sync my calender or tasks???
It says sync error, "ActiveSync encountered a problem on the desktop."
fyi, I use windows mobile device center 6.1,
I am so frustrated and have no idea what to do, i feel like just picking this phone
up and hurling it onto concrete, help xda,
thanks.
Not sure if it will help you, but I encountered sync problems because I was in OFF-line mode with MS Outlook. Somehow ActiveSync needs to be On-line to enablesync with your PocketPC...
forgot to say i use windows mobile device center 6.1 because i run vista,
somebody HELP ME!
Did you try the obvious?
* Delete partnership
* Restarting the PC and Device
I had an issue and it was due to me using Windows Live OneCare. You might want to check your antivirus or firewall. It could be blocking the access.

Your not the only one.
I have the Tilt (stock ROM) and am using Activesync 4.5 and Outlook 2007.
I have this set up to sync my contacts & calendar. My contacts sync fine.
I have my Outlook calendar set up to sync automatically with my Google calendar, this is working fine.
The problem is, that nothing from my outlook calendar is syncing with the phone.
I have tried deleting the partnership and re doing everything but that does not work.
Do you run multiple Outlook profiles? For example, I have one that connects to my work Exchange e-mail and one for personal accounts. I can only sync with the personal accounts profile on the desktop, and if Outlook isn't open with that profile or I have the Exchange profile open it'll fail to sync.
I only use one profile and don't even use it for any e-mail. Only contacts & calendar.
Have you tried creating a new mail profile on the pc and syncing with that?
If that works, then just set your mail accounts up on the new profile and import your pst data (unless you have an exchange server).
I think I figured out the problem but I still dont know how to fix it.
ActiveSync is syncing the standard calendar which is blank and not my internet calendar which is listed in Outlook as "other calendar"
Is there any way to sync the "other calendar"??
Pic attached.

That would explain it. I don't believe you can do this through ActiveSync, but can through third party apps like GCalendarSync or OggSync for Google Calendar.

Thanks a lot.
What a the big changes between .36 and the newest one? I could never get the newer one to work on my kaiser either but I am trying to obtain a FUZE soon.
Found this post searching even more. I did not see too much differences but this may help out others.
"Hello there everyone! I am sure you all are quite a big user of Hotmail and MSN services on your Nokia, Motorola or LG phones or any other PDA devices right? I know I use MSN messenger everyday to keep in touch with my friends and families on the go from my mobile. Microsoft Hotmail charges some extra bucks for push mail services which Google doesn’t but I am just so accustomed to using Hotmail, I just had to find a work around. And good news is that I actually did. Just discovered the latest version of MSN Mobile Messenger with free push Hotmail support, the local search, and the live search have been released.
In this latest version the messenger interface have been enhanced even more, you can do conference chat on the go and even chat in five different friends in five different windows at a time from your mobile phone or PDA. Hotmail have been integrated which actually simply configures itself once you give the email address and the password for your account. Additionally beside all these, you have exclusive online access to password protected parts of the Windows Live Spaces, online file storage and what not. Think of it, if you are an windows live spaces blogger or webmaster, this is a dream kit for you. If you are not, well still then it is a dream kit for you cause the messenger interface is far more superior than anything else out there in the mobile applications market.
With the latest Push version of this MSN Mobile Hotmail, you can be sure that you will never miss another mail due to access problems. It even has the auto complete feature enabled so that when you want to mail someone and you forget their email address, you can still email them by just typing what you remember about that person, let it be their email name or address. The coolest part of it is that you don’t even have to scroll to find the mail. The Microsoft Windows Live spaces feature lets you upload photos from your mobile phone on the go, believe that? Now you can blog on Live spaces even if you are not in front of your desktop. If you are lost in the road you can simply open up the Local Search option and find the detailed address by looking into the map feature, you can even pan, scan and zoom at the same time which will also show you the dynamic weather report just like you see in the desktop version of MSN Local Search. As in the laptop or desktop, you can also save those specific maps/points on your MMC or phone memory to retrieve and view later without incurring GPRS or 3G cost.
MSN mobile lets you view stock quotes, weather conditions, latest happening news from all around the globe and also lets you browse the latest in Entertainment as in movies, celebrity gossips etc. You can seek up phone numbers of anyone you know, or get the latest tips on Tax and other financial stuff all on the go. This is particularly very useful if you are a businessman and need to keep up with the current market and situations even when you are out of your workstation. All unlocked version of Att or Atnt, tmobile or sometimes known as t-mobile, verizon wireless, Sprint and Cingular prepaid and postpaid subscribers can also enjoy these information and services to the fullest from their smartphones or pda. The nifty MSN messenger feature also lets you see and set your own status message, add or delete contacts, appear offline etc just like you do on the PC. You also have the integrated Live search and if you have signed up with the SMS text features of MSN then you can also access and use that."
Not sure if this version does it or not, but I would LOVE for it to sync my profile pictures that I save for contacts.
I've used Windows Live for a while now, and I use it to sync my contacts and email, but its a PITA to reassign my profile pictures everytime I hard reset or flash a new ROM. That was one of the things I liked about Exchange.
Another feature on my wish list would be to sync my calendar/tasks.
If they did those two things, then I think it would be almost as powerful as an Exchange server...for free!
thanks for this unfortunately i still can't send or receive files through it.
Hi Da_G,
I downloaded your cab earlier and just installed it but nothing happens when i click the "windows messenger" icon. I have done soft resets too but it does not work. I have installed it in storage card.
Thanks
try installing it on the device, i haven't heard of it being installed on the storage card and properly working
Not sure if his version is different, but I've read where this version doesn't actually have messenger.
As stated in the title, and visible in the screenshot, this version is with messenger.

i tried it but it was hell to use due to everything on the screen being so small, and i wasn't able to sucessfully send a file, but maybe i wasn't patient enough, will have to try again. does file transfer work for anyone else? still trying to determine if this is a problem with just me or if its universal and no one shares files for live messenger
Thanks, I'll be installing this in just a bit
i just installed and tried sending/recieving files, works like a charm over here
Updated first post, 10.6.46.800

Hello all, i have found out that Microsoft released update to Pocket Outlook, which should work with Exchange 2010. The download link is here. But whenever i try to install, this error appears: "Installation of OutlookLiveSetup.cab was unsuccessful." So is there anyone who managed throug and installed it succesfully ?
i get the same message .
me too...
Maybe you should try to stop some services before trying to install. Go Task manager and...
Just a quick suggestion...
the installation was successful, but it says my Exchange mailbox must be on Echange server 2010.

How did you do that? Which device, ROM etc are you using?
I just extracted the cab and ran the exe that is in it. But a requirement to download the update is exchange server 2010. I was going to set up a exchange server on my computer just to get these files but it requires a 64-bit processor. I only have 32-bit.
all this is a setup app to download the new Outlook Mobile from a Exch 2010 server. YOU MUST BE USING A 2010 SERVER TO GET THIS TO WORK. This doesn't actually install the Outlook app, it just installs the spftware downloader to get the app from a 2010 server. Since 2010 is still in beta you are not going to find anybody using it yet.

HTC touch pro, the original ROM.
I tried on my Diamond with a WM6.5 Juicy ROM and no go. I ask a co-worker to try on his TP2 and he manage to get it installed but he got the message "Mailbox needs to be active on 2010 server". He is still running Stock ROM.
I guess Exchange 2007 is not compatible with this upgrade. Too bad. Maybe SP2 for Exchange 2007 will resolve that... I might have to upgrade our server within the next few weeks. I guess I'll keep an eye on this thread.
Thanks for everyone's feedback.

Exch2007 SP2 doesn't help, this is for Exchange 2010 only, which is in beta. I think the OP mentions something in the first post.
Original post about Outlook Mobile for Exchange 2010 was posted on wmpoweruser.com. For those who really want to try it, you can download Evaluate version of Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 RC here. It is limited for 120 days, after this it will stop working. Here are some screenshots of new outlook:

Anyone get this working yet? (as posted previously, you need Exchange 2010 running-- the CAB is just an updater that pulls the update OTA from Exchange Server)
I'm curious as to whether they finally fixed the broken IMAP support.
For many, many years, WM has had an RFC-noncompliant implementation of IMAP, with hard-coded names for IMAP folders (e.g. sent mail has to be in ".Sent Items"), no support for folders located in non-root locations (e.g. "Inbox.Sent Items", as in many Linux mail servers), and other such issues that make the IMAP support useless for many people (if you care about having your messages synced to the server, which is sort of the point of IMAP).

It sounds to me like you don't have a Windows Mobile OS on your phone. Please confirm. If so, you are in the WRONG place. If not, you either have a problem reading menus, or your phone was not purchased new, because all WM phones have Outlook Mobile installed on stock ROMs...
Outlook Mobile may be called "Messaging" on your phone.
Hi,
I have my phone with wm6.1. Orriginal also. When I go to start > office mobile I don't see outlook in there. In windows there is a file named poutlook but I can't open It.

ActiveSync is the equivalent to Outlook for mobile devices. There, you can set up and exchange account, POP, IMAP, etc...
EDIT: Make sure you don't have your phone connected to your PC when you open ActiveSync to setup a mail account.

that is so unaccurate, and only a wrong opinion on your part....I do not have Outlook on any of my phones, your post is inaccurate to say the least... based on ignorance... I have all the ms office stuff, but no outlook on my phones... Heck I refuse to even use outlook anyways and am thankful for it... I can back up all my stuff and never have to use ms outlook.... so next time u make a post , base it on facts not your wrong opinions
sorry, but it's seems you're the one who bases his posts on his ignorance.
you have pocket outlook on your phone, even if you never saw it.
Pocket outlook is the software which manages your emails, contacts, calendar on WM devices. the EXE is Poutlook.exe launched with different parameters depending the shortcut.
If you use your mobiles contact, you use Pocket outlook. If you use the calendar, you use pocket outlook. Etc..
also if you configure activesync for mail, you even got the outlook icon :
