Yesterday -- after getting my Wing just as I like it -- I installed the Pocket Mechanic trial. Curiosity got the better of me and I ran it's registry cleanup option. When it asked, "do you want to delete these entries?" like a fool and complete noob I clicked "yes."
Now my voice command doesn't function, with a popup that says "voice command has encountered a problem ...." I'm sure when I deleted the registry entries there were a bunch of "sapi" ones -- voice command. Oops.
Anything I can do to restore it??
You don't need to reinstall it. Check this thread. I guess by now you already did a hard reset or something, but just in case ....

Hi
Just flashed my rom with bal666's splash editor, which is so easy to use.
Then restored my data using xBackup for the 1st time when it came to softreset i got an error saying
'Cannot find 'VoiceCmd' (or one of its components)'
Does this file belong to Microsofts Voice program or something else and whats the best way of fixing the error now and to stop it happening again on the next restore.
Thanks
fixed problem.
it was microsoft voice but i don't know why it happened
thanks
voicecmd.exe issue on htc touch diamond
I dont know how i managed to do it, but even after upgrading to latest official ROM, i deleted something and then I started getting "voicecmd.exe" errors every time the phone started up. My fix was to install Microsoft Voice Commander. This worked but i found that I was using memory for a program I dont use, or didnt seem to work out of the box.
It might be a great thing, but i havent lost any time trying to learn how to use it, and even without it, voice speed dial works normally/perfectly and allows to start not only a call to a contact (you still need to record the voice tags) but also to start applications.
If anyone out there has decided to remove microsoft voice command, like i did, then you should use a tool like sktools to find invalid registry keys and you will find the key by searching on sktools registry tool, for "voicecmd".
I should have taken note of the path but i can tell at least that the word "startup" is in it.
Anyway, removed key, phone starts faster and hey, nothing like 50% used memory!
Screw TF3D and thumbs up for handy weather!
Btw, love my HTC Touch Diamond...
how did you fix it guys ?
I had finger friendly friends installed and it said that my trial was over...so i uninstalled it. Now when i touch contacts, it says that FFF cannot be found..how do i convert back to the normal contacts?
And why the hell do i have to pay for it?

Hi SkyylineGTR,
try this: Use a registry editor to change following entry
HLM\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\:MSCONTACT\1 (path for FFF.exe)
and maybe (don't know if this still exists after deinstallation or is even necessary)
HCU\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Taskswitch\4 (path for FFF.lnk)
to \windows\poutlook.exe (and \windows\poutlook.lnk for the second if necessary).
The answer for your second question is easy: Because the developer of FFF (Jahnotto) decided to.
Anyway, you are not forced to use FFF, so you don't HAVE to pay for it
I wish you a happy new year,
Hans Olo
Would KaiserTweak work to insert these commands?

hey guys, as you know, the left soft key is mapped for the calender, and i had no issue with it. i used the program in dutty's #7 rom to change it to something else (htc action button).. however, i decided to change it back to calender, and now every time i try to open the calender through the left soft key i get the following error message:
"The file "HTCCalendar" cannot be opened. either it is not sined with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. if the problem persisits, try reinstalling or restoring this file"
whats going on? thanks
omar
Use a registry editor and go to the following key:
Code:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\112
Change the value of "open" from HTCCalendar.exe to calendar.exe - there is no HTC version of the calendar application, but the soft key changer seems to think there is!
Mark.
hey thanks for your help, i did what you said, and now it gives me the same error message but with Calendar instead of HTCCalendar. ha u know whats going on? thanks
Does your registry key look like this?
\windows\LSK\calendar.exe
If so, look in your LSK folder in Windows via Explorer and I'll bet you'll find it's empty. Mine was and I had the same error as you. All I did to fix it was remove the LSK\ from the registry. Soft reset and it should work, mine does.
Yeah...what he said
Sorry, I forgot to say you had to remove the "LSK" bit from the path in the registry key.....it was late and I was tired OK
Hope it's working now!
Mark.
hey guys, worked perfectly, thanks for all ur help!
omar
I just noticed this fix doesn't stick and will be wiped out during a SR. Maybe it's something I've done wrong.
EDIT: Memmaid was causing this problem during a Quick Clean operation.
I didn't find anything about this in the forum and I was hoping that someone could help me. Basically I soft resetted my device (used the stylus and hit the deeply embedded button) but when it booted up, it ran the setup that it does when you first turn on the phone or if you do a hard reset. I mistakenly ran through the calibration and finally it booted up with the bloatware and original settings. The weird thing is, all my files and programs are present but all my registry has been reset. Also I cannot open SKTools, the latest program that which I installed. But, this didn't happen right after I installed it. It was after a couple of days.
I did however accidentally selected "restore settings to default" or something like that under "Tune up!" in SKTools. But this weird hard-reset paradox didn't happen right after I did that. It was much later. So it may or may not be the cause of this. Also I cannot seem to open SKTools but I can open everything else that doesn't require any registry... =[ Also, some app files are missing but some things are left like shortcuts? I'm not really sure...
At least my contacts, calendar reminders, and everything else is still saved.
btw I do not have a backup file or anything (yeah I know I gotta) but I guess I was careless ='[...
Someone please help, is there a way I can restore it- maybe an automatic restore image is hiding somewhere???
hi i have installed a the Colour 3G 10 Button touch home dialer comm manager on my tytn ll but dont want it anymore and now i cant uninstall it, i try to run the installation process again to have the existing installation removed but i always get a message that it cannot be uninstalled, so i have gotten the SKTools program to remove it but still cannot find or remove this thing, can someone tell me where to look or how to get rid of it. thank you.
In SKTools:
- to be safe, start by doing a backup of your device (Sprite Backup or similar)
- select installed programs, then select the app you want to uninstall (and no other, otherwise they will also be uninstalled !)
- it shows all the components installed for that app
- make a screen capture of the installed components and save it for later reference
- select "Action", then "Uninstall marked" (not Uninstall marked standard !)
- if all goes well, it should be uninstalled
- otherwise, manually uninstall the components in your saved screen capture.
hi and thanks. see this is the problem tho, this 'Colour 3G 10 Button touch home dialer comm manager' is not showing up in the installed programs, i actually cant find it anywhere, i mean i know its there somewhere obviously, but i've even unzipped the file on my computer then looked for the files that came out of it manually in the windows folder and a few other places and using the search function of the fone and on SKTools and still can't find it haha. bugging me man. actually the search function doesnt bring up anything, i type in the exact file name of a few of the unzipped files and get no results. and now actually my original dial pad on the phone has been messed up too.so if anyone knows where i can find the windows mobile 6.1 phone dialpad i'd appreciate that too. does it even come separate?
First, did you soft reset after your uninstall? It often helps.
Also, being careful and using a registry editor, did you check if there are any unwanted remnants of the old dialer in the registry?
hi, thanks. no i didnt do a soft reset, i dont even know what that is actually. and i can't uninstall the app thats my problem. how would i know what files to look for in the registry?
thank u.

1) search for soft reset on this forum
2) under HKLM/software and HKCU/software, look for the name of the editor/developper or the name of the app
Again, be careful
Have you made sure commanager is not running before uninstall?
A way to make sure is to soft-reset "turn device off then on "
