I have an extra Hermes/8525 lying around and i have been pondering something.
I want to start a project to mod my 8525 with a tilting screen.
But to do so, I would need pictures of the disassembly of the tilt, in or around the areas of the hinges/spring where it slides out, and when it is out. However I don't have or know anyone with a tilt, which is of no help.
If any of you could assist me in this, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
The Wiki is a wonderful place!

Have a look at the bottom of the "Specs" section and there's a couple of links to disassembly pages.

Evidently there is a new TouchFlo operating environment coming from HTC. Anybody knows anything about it? There is considerable detail on BoyGenius and it refers to the url shown below:

There is also another site with more details:

Amazing, all these people using iruja's screen shots (from TWO days ago I might add) and not even so much as to link back to the post.
Interestingly, I searched the forum for the word Manilla before I posted the thread and it found nothing. In retrospect, I realize that it probably searched only the Kaiser/Kaiser part and not the whole Kaiser, which I thought it was searching. I apologize for the duplication in the information.
I want to know if the tilt can cycle through wallpapers! Do you know if there is any 3rd party applications that I may could put on the phone to make this happen? I have searched everywhere and have had no luck! if anyone could actually help me out by finding something or at least pointing me in the right direction I would be very appreciative! thank you
Try SPB Pocket Plus. Several Ways.
Moved to Kaiser from Upgrading. My comments on this other thread are relevant

LOL, thats funny.
Hi All --
So sorry to bother the community with my query, but at least I'm not posting it in the ROM forum... ;-) and this might be of interest to others.
About 2 months ago, I remember browsing to a web page that detailed how to open the Tilt case and make a couple of incisions so that the viewing angle of the screen could be tilted to a more acute angle.
This is great for setting your Tilt on a car dash and using TomTom to navigate in Landscape mode.
Despite 30 minutes of messing around with the Google on teh internets, I have been unable to relocate this page.
Does anyone have a pointer?
Now that my Tilt is more than 5 months old, I'm feeling a bit bolder about cutting into it.
Thanks in advance,
-Humbert

Gracias, Amigo. It was actually on a web page that I saw it, I think, but this PDF note is great. When I get a T6 and T7, I may want to do it.
Doing hacks like this make me feel my engineering roots again....

Glad I could help.
hello all you great developers out there. i spent hours turning pages after pages of endless information and endless searches. what i am suggesting is i think simple but may be to much can some one make a thread specifically for just the at&t tilt i know there many names around the world for the tilt but i have tried many programs and end up on the more confused that eccentric side. well just my two cents, thanks for all the great info.
Check out the Wiki, you'll find a link to a Thread for tilt specific issues.
As for software, anything that works on the other Kaiser models is fine for the tilt.
I have looked all over for either instructions, pictures, videos, etc. for help in taking my phone apart safely to replace this. Any information would be greatly appreciated as I have searched the forum and I don't know if I just can't think of the right words to search for a thread on this subject or if just a rare few exist because I have looked all over. THANK YOU
in my case i had an extra kaiser and i just replaced the boards and that wasnt hard at all. i no you can google and find a how to take apart guide. ill go look for u
did you look in the WIKI?
everyone says the WIKI is a great place to start for ANYTHING related to your kaiser...and i just went there and saw a sub-heading for "Disassembly Pictures" that link to Mike Channon's Service Manual and Disassembly Guide.
its probably what you have been looking for all along...the sticky at the top of the general forum says "Before you post start here!"...and the WIKI is one of the links there, go figure!
hope this helps
