Hi People.. This is a BETA version, found today through Mess.be. I installed it on my BA running WM2005 and it works fine as far as I have been able to test it .. Hope you enjoy it
OK.. a bit more info.. I have tested the nudges and the voice clips, all work well. It is a bit annoying that the MSN contact list integrates into outlook, but hey... once its sorted and cleaned up, its ok!
It took about an hour to synch the first time.. just so you know.

The mobile Windows Live Messenger client we brought to you at the end of last month did have the Windows Live look, but it had a very meager feature list. The Windows Mobile 5.0 version, on the other hand, will boast many useful features like Voice Clips (just press your Call button while in a conversation and you can send 15-second voice messages), group conversations, file transfers (send your camphone pics), nudges, etc. Unfortunately, it's still in private Beta as part of the G2 suite of Live services which also includes Live Mail, Contacts, RSS and Local Search.
A couple of days ago, the Beta was refreshed to version 10.6.0023.0200 for both Smartphones and Pocket PCs. Over a hundred bugs have been fixed since the last update, and some features were added. For instance, users of previous Beta-versions will be glad to hear that contact synchronisation isn't obligatory anymore (just untick the boxes when asked). You also have the option to add your Messenger dashboard (showing your nickname, e-mail address, Display Picture (!) and current status) to the Today screen. Other changes include support for Personal Status Messages and several extra menu options here and there.
We've tested the next-gen Messenger client and it's truely a killer app that will boost mobile IM significantly once officially released. Obviously, lucky owners of a Windows Mobile 5.0 device are eager to get their hands on the Windows Live G2 Suite, so I did a bit of searching and found that it had been leaked less than two days after its recent Beta release. Mess.be nor Microsoft supports this leak, so install at your own risk. The private Beta is currently available in English only.

Thanx buddy
Thanx buddy I was eagerly waiting for this BTW r u the official beta tester neways.
Cheers Matt!
Thanks Buddy am installing now!
Already been posted in news few days ago, the exe in news contains both versions, and the version is not 5 but 10.6.0023.0200
look here for it
I've given it ago, and ignoring it's beta status I find it werid that although it has the new "roaming picture" support that has just come out on the PC beta version as well, it doesn't seem to support offline message which has been out on the PC version for a while. Maybe it's something they are working on?
Otherwise it's looking like an excellent release!
I'm unable to connect to Windows Mobile....It's my problem?
Nope, can't connect either.
Same here.
i had it going for a week. did a hard reset and re-installed, but now can't connect. also another funny thing. after i installed and went on the mobile dslreports site and checked my ip it says than i'm connected through msn.net, which is very odd as i use either wifi or usb connected to my pc (my provider is freedom2surf), or i use gprs which is orange.
looks like a case of big brother is watching!!!
Hmmm....
Yep doesn't work.
That's a scary thought about big brother watching... something was strange about it, there's proof. Looks like we're gonna have to wait for the next leak, oh well...
I think MSOFT have closed the service to non legit beta testers. I get a msg saying that my phone connection is poor, check my reception. you getting the same?
Me too cant able to connect , seems M$ has blocked this beta version .
I got the same message about the reception.
I registered at http://connect.microsoft.com to download the new beta legally.
Live messenger for PPC
hmm.. Sorry guys.. At the time of posting It was working fine.. I logged in on all three of my acounts.. Seems M$ has limited the beta release to just a few of us who are official testers!
As soon as I get a new version or any more news I will let you know.. Until then....
The frustrating thing is that it seems to be working fine. I don't understand why they'll let anyone download Office 2007 (worth serveral hundred pounds) but won't let us have Live messenger (which I'm guessing is gonna be free).
Does anyone have a link for this download? I have the new AT&T Tilt working with BB Connect, but cannot find the download to the BlackBerry Application Suite for Windows Mobile 6.
Don't think the app suite is released as of yet.
Why would you want blackberry suite?
As mentioned above, the Blackberry Application Suite does not exist. Its never been released. not sure if it ever will be.
But if you are looking for Blakcberry Connect for WM, that does exist. See my post on this thread. And in the future, you might try searching some.

HI, I have been battling with BBC against to our BES due to policies and I heard from a very reliable source that the product will be ready for our deployment Q32008... So its is coming and I think will support the encryption etc and will be support friendlier since the interface is a propiraty BB interface. Plus, there aren't many security risks around virus etc since it will be a virtaul application suite that supports any BB application and doesn't integrate to VM mail client etc.... So, you can have your WM as a standalone OS once you minimize the BAS... These are great benefits for enterprise adoption and really simplifies the risks around the device support when compared to BBC running on any WM device (or symbian etc)...
as of 2009, it hasnt been released. At least its been showcased and that bring a hope for it to be soon.
it been 2 years since when RIM Compeny said they gonna release it but they haven't released it yet!
its a vaporware.. playing on our patience...
it would make WM so much more powerful... and blackberry so much more popular... when will the two organisations ever realise it?

I've always liked using Spb Pocket Plus, but with the newer ROM builds released over the last few months, it has caused a glitch where drop-down boxes in Pocket Plus configuration, and System>Personal>Buttons would not drop down properly, which was highly frustrating.
I contacted Spb, they are aware of the problem, and they have recently released a new beta, 4.1.0 beta, that fixes it, and gave me the O.K. to share it here:
Dear Stan, recently we released public beta-version of Spb Pocket Plus, you can post this link to our support forum:http://www.spbclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=22266
They will eventually have a similar fix for Spb Backup. I hope this helps a few others out there that are die-hard stylus and/or Spb Pocket Plus fans, but wish to continue to try new ROM builds.
Thanks for the update..it was one of those pain in the ass things that I just assumed was bad design. But when I click on the link provided in the support forum it just takes me to the product page, not the beta download. Any thoughts?
Here are some icons I made from the famous sticker Icon pack. I only made 64x64 because that is all I use, but maybe someone can use them.

Hi everyone! I have my Raphael since November 2008 (man, time goes fast!) in replacement of a Palm Lifedrive. The PPC sistem is very nice, and I love my phone... the only thing I miss is the calendar/agenda sistem of the Palm OS, where you can separate your meetengs, etc by category and these are showed in the agenda in differents colors. I think this is VERY useful! I now using the GREAT and last version of ENERGY ROM (TP2 Manila xbmod), and this interface have a nice improvement in the TF3D with the CALENDAR TAB, but this "show" a "busy" day only by a white mark, and the WM6.1 calendar doesn´t have any colors to show in the Week or month view. So... my question /request is : Is there any way to tweak the TP2 manila or the WM6.1 default calendar so it could show different colors depending on different categories? or Is there another good software that replace the default agenda and has this feature?
...well , that´s it!, THANK YOU VERY MUCH !
PD: sorry my terrible english.... Chile present in an international forum!
I use pocket informant 8.... better cal app then the default.
SoBBie
Thank you! I´ll give it a try!
There's also Agendus that was on Palm and now is on Windows OS
http://www.iambic.com/agendus/wmppc/
thumbcal is very nice.
Actually if you are using Win. mobile 6.5 you will want to stay away from pretty much every 3rd party app until 6.5 is officially released. none of the 3rd party cal's have the information to update there software and many are creating (in my opinion) big issues with the cal. and the phone.
I was using 6.1 and PI worked great. I also liked SBSH Cal. touch but it was not as robust. BUT now that I upgraded to 6.5 I am trying to stay away from any of them since none fully work with it :'(
Thanks,
SoBBie

This is so true. I tried PI8 and SBSH. Neither worked right. However, Thumbcal is working like a champ.

I have been using Agenda Fusion 8 for a few years and find it to be, by far, the most productive app on my phone. It works fine on my 6.5 ROM. I can read and write current and new appointments and tasks with no problems at all. Frankly I was surprised to see that some other apps are not working with 6.5.
If you try Agenda Fusion 8, be sure to give it a good try. It has so much functionality that it takes a while to sort through what you will use and not use. The trial is 15 days. It has a great interface for tasks and appointements. It also has the ability to create templates for new appointments and tasks to speed repetitive entry on the go. The app is stylus based and not finger friendly, but as a business application to manage my Outlook data on my phone, I have never found anything that even comes remotely close, and I have tried several.
There are several that look better, but none that are more productive.

Hi,
In order to get an overview of my appointments in different colors I have the following setup:
- I use Oggsync to sync OTA my Google calendars (category is automatically assigned for each calendar)
- I've installed 'Manila Today Page' http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=508102%5C
- On the extra Manila page, obtained from MTP I've put TodayAgenda http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2723505, which allows to display all of my appointments, with colors according to their category.
- I use Thumbcal to create appointments for it's 'finger-friendliness'.

AgendaFusion looks good but I dont think they ever made it touch friendly ... I will play with it again but pretty sure it is stylus based. PI8 and SBSH both are great for thumb use. PI8 has just as much functionality as AgendaFusion PLUS it has the touch feature which is very nice.
But that is my personal preferance. I want a thumb based organizer. ThumbCal works fine but I use tasks a lot and I dont know if it handles that (dont think so last I checked) but I may also take a look at that one.
Thanks,
SoBBie

You are absolutely correct. Agenda Fusion is not the least bit finger friendly. For me however, I can use the simple Today screen on 6.5 to see upcomming appointments. But if I really need to spend time with my calendar and tasks, I use Agenda Fusion. It works so well for me, that I do not even take my laptop home or on appointments. Everything I need is accessible through Agenda Fusion.
I did write to DeveloperOne a couple of months ago to see if a newer release is scheduled. They have stopped development becuase they already had so much functionality, there was really nothing left to do. So... no finger friendly versions are headed your way...
If I had a tool to do so, I would post screen shots, but I do not have anything.
Doug M.
Doug,
I am playing with agenda fusion... and yes, it is a good program. But, I would advice you to try PI8 again (wait till Windows Mobile 6.5 comes out and they update it). PI8 has at least as much functionality as AF but they were smart enough to make it touch freindly. I am not saying jump right into it but I would advice you to try it again. if you are still using a 6.1 ROM then I would suggest that you give it a try now... but as I said above if you are on 6.5 dont bother with it yet... but try it as soon as they build a version for it.
Have a great day,
SoBBie
I have decided to retire this ROM, it has served it's purpose and it is time to move on.
I'm very new at this, so don't expect anything flashy, I'm going for stability.
I'm working on a T-Mobile stable stock 6.5 foundation ROM.
The idea is to start with the stock 6.5 release and remove any apps that can be updated from the Internet. That way you always have a stable ROM with most of the standard features found in the T-Mobile 6.5 release and you get to pick and choose what structures you want to build on top of your foundation.
Due to multiple removal requests, I'm no longer hosting this ROM, however, other people are providing mirrors.
MD5 hash: b1448986dec4abf841909b4017bcb1e9
Recommended install
Hard SPL (follow instructions)
Task 29 (follow instructions)
To save time, install the T-Mobile 6.5 release, it will put the radio on and reset the splashscreen (if you like the TMo splash, some do)
Install the Foundation ROM
Changelog
v0.5 - First release
v0.51 - Minor bugfixes
v0.6 - Fixed some menu items, updated XDA_UC
v0.7 - 1% battery driver. Added some changes to XDA_UC.
v1.0RC - Fixed minor issues with XDA_UC. Registry. ROM appears stable.
v1.0 - Released - Stable
Flash at your own risk. This ROM is pre-configured for T-Mobile US phones only. Other phones may not work, and Verizon/Sprint phones absolutely will not work and you will brick your phone..
ROM has the following removed:
Google Maps
Handango
MyPhone
Bing
Facebook
MyFaves
Visual Voicemail
Sample Music
OZ IM
Windows Live
Windows Live IM
WM Live Search Widget
WM Money Search Widget
WM Weather Search Widget
Jetcet (I never use it, but if people want it back in I'll keep it in)
Updated:
.NET CF to 3.5
Sense 2.1 - Compressed CFC
Turned off Push Internet to save memory, can be turned back on easily.
Added:
XDA_UC - I don't use it (yet), but I'm guessing some people might find it useful.
Things I left in and why:
Office 2007 - So you can upgrade to office 2010 via the marketplace.
Opera 9.5 - It's a solid browser, it works well and you can always add Mobile 5 later.
Youtube - This version seems to work well on the TP2, I'm not going to break a working app, again, can be updated to Google's latest version.
Sense 2.1 - The ROM came with this version and it performs well. I CFC'd it to improve memory, I did not notice much of a difference, but it can't hurt.
Structures
A Structure is a simple app or script to build on top of the Foundation ROM. Examples of structures would be an script to re-order the menu, or something to update a core component. They are completely optional and should be easy to customize.
I've attached a simple script to organize the start menu a little better. Rename it to menus.mscr and run it on the phone. Like I said, it's very simple, feel free to open it in notepad and make changes to your liking.
The second script is nobackup.mscr, it will remove the T-Mobile backup app from the startup and menus.
Much Success
May you be very successful in this. I just got into flashing a couple of days ago and its the coolest thing. I have the HD2 my wife likes what I am doing a wants to have some fun as well which is why I am in this section. I will check to see what progress your able to make.
I would have liked to have Telenav cooked in because I can never get it to work on custom ROMs so I have just settled for TomTom... But you may also want to remove the IM apps because a lot of people including myself just use Palringo (much like ebuddy if you are familiar with it)... Good luck with this, I was sad to see the Timor series discontinued as I am a T-Mobile USA customer too, but maybe this can be better.

I didn't think Telenav would be an issue, I'll put it back in. Hopefully I'll have something to show soon.
Version 0.5 is up. Let me know if you like it.
The usual warnings apply to anyone flashing, flash at your own risk, this is a beta release.
I fixed some problems and put up version 0.51.
Future releases
Future releases:
Does anyone want any of the following removed?
Jblend
T-Mobile Mobile Backup
T-Mobile email setup wizard
Youtube (can always download from Google)
Office 2007
MS Voice command
Does anyone want the following added?
New icons (Cook some in, or let you make your own set)
better folder layout (Again, do I do this in ROM, or would you rather do it yourself)
sense 2.5 (might be too tough)
Are there any additional apps that should be in the ROM.

I think you should keep it simple and try not to add custom gfx/icons. Leave that up to other chefs like Sergio and NRG.
I also think you should leave in youtube, MS Voice Command and the email setup wizard. Can you toss in the latest version of Office and Palringo?
You should also stick to Sense 2.1 for obvious reasons. (RAM, stability)

As this is your rom most of this should be up to you and what you think is best, but to keep most happy, I would say keep HTC Youtube because the Google version is not as good as HTC's app, and HTC Youtube is very tricky to get to work via CAB. Everything else you mentioned I would remove. I can only give my advice as to what I think you are trying to accomplish here, a stable and clean rom for T-Mobile users. So I'd stay away from Sense 2.5, because then you would probably have to change the WM build for stability reasons... And in that case you may be better off starting with the stock rom that comes with Sense 2.5 (which would make this no different from the popular Energy or DeepShining roms). So, to stay away from that I would leave the Sense and WM builds alone.
Other than that, I'd stay away from freeware apps that can easily be added via CAB. If you intend to include UC in the future it will be easy to get our favorite apps installed. But some are best off cooked in, like Youtube and Telenav... But one of my pet peeves is chefs throwing in Total Commander, and I am a Resco Explorer user. Total Commander can easily be installed wit a CAB, no problem. These apps I feel should be left out of custom roms. And I would also leave icons as is... Too much time wasted on something we can and usually will customize ourselves, more focus should be put on speed, stability, battery life, etc...
I will try this out soon.
EDIT: OK here is some feedback after a few minutes of use...
-You have an empty Instant Messaging start menu folder
-T-Mobile's e-mail setup app is redundant because there is an HTC app which does the same thing
-Very fluid, responsive, and fast
-Start menu needs some cleaning up
Thanks for the feedback.
I'm working on the next release which will fix a couple of minor issues, fix the menu up and I'm thinking about Office Mobile 2010.
I'm avoiding adding Palringo for now, it's easily installed.
Overall, I'm happy with the ROM so far, it boots up to about 50% free memory, it's fast and the battery life is excellent.
I'm always open to any suggestions, comments or other ideas, so keep them coming.
v.06 released
I have released version .06 which fixes some issues with XDA_UC and creates some submenus to hold the extra tools and internet components.
Please send feedback.
Also, I will start writing a few minor structures to build on this foundation in the upcoming days.
Downloading now...
I've uploaded a simple script (see third post) that will improve the menus for anyone who likes a more organized layout.
I'm also going to write one to disable the T-Mobile backup service.
A few things to consider for future releases:
- Add 1% battery driver and 1% compatible taskbar (stock with battery % above the icon)
- Additional tabs
- 4 rows start menu
- Action Screen
Other than that, this rom seems pretty close to final IMO... Maybe update Office to 2010 or remove it, I'd also remove Mobile Backup. Really loving this rom so far, my only complaint is the problem with starting up where you get the select time zone screen. It happened to me on the stock rom too, but I was hoping for some kind of fix.

I'm looking into all of them, including office 2010. Mobile Backup is easy to remove, I've uploaded a mini script for that. See post 3.
As for the timezone, you shouldn't be getting it. I have not seen it myself since I did a task29 clean, you might want to look into that.
Yes I did so too... But I have been getting it on and off. I got the same thing happening with the stock rom.

You might want to remove Office 2007. Office 2010 is now a free download to any device that has WM6.5 installed. In keeping with your stated theme that anything that has an upgrade is removed that should qualify. I will be trying your new ROM soon.

Unfortunately, it's not a free download unless you have Office 2007 installed. Attempting to install on a ROM without 2007 will fail.
Another solution is to use a copy of Office 2010 found here, but I'm reluctant to do so. I would rather keep the ability to download updates from Microsoft.
