Shameless plug: Just wanted to tell any fellow Twitter-ers out there with Windows Mobile Pocket PCs that I just released a new Twitter client that allows you to use nearly every feature that Twitter provides. Its pretty small (214k download) and requires the .NET Compact Framework v2. Its quite a stable program and has been successfully used in prototype status for nearly a year (and remained stable throughout that time!) and I have now released it to everybody to try. Heck, its free, so why not! Please let me know what you all think!
Download it from my site: http://www.infinitumsoftware.com/twobile
Has anyone done one that can also tweet your gps position ?
ps There is also twittercam which is by far the best twitter updater I have used on the kaiser it enables you to take a photo, tweet and upload then together in as little as 3 smooth steps.
Take pic
Tweet
Hit send and place the kaiser in your pocket.
Unfortunately it too does not tag gps data
Hi everyone! I have my Raphael since November 2008 (man, time goes fast!) in replacement of a Palm Lifedrive. The PPC sistem is very nice, and I love my phone... the only thing I miss is the calendar/agenda sistem of the Palm OS, where you can separate your meetengs, etc by category and these are showed in the agenda in differents colors. I think this is VERY useful! I now using the GREAT and last version of ENERGY ROM (TP2 Manila xbmod), and this interface have a nice improvement in the TF3D with the CALENDAR TAB, but this "show" a "busy" day only by a white mark, and the WM6.1 calendar doesn´t have any colors to show in the Week or month view. So... my question /request is : Is there any way to tweak the TP2 manila or the WM6.1 default calendar so it could show different colors depending on different categories? or Is there another good software that replace the default agenda and has this feature?
...well , that´s it!, THANK YOU VERY MUCH !
PD: sorry my terrible english.... Chile present in an international forum!
I use pocket informant 8.... better cal app then the default.
SoBBie
Thank you! I´ll give it a try!
There's also Agendus that was on Palm and now is on Windows OS
http://www.iambic.com/agendus/wmppc/
thumbcal is very nice.
Actually if you are using Win. mobile 6.5 you will want to stay away from pretty much every 3rd party app until 6.5 is officially released. none of the 3rd party cal's have the information to update there software and many are creating (in my opinion) big issues with the cal. and the phone.
I was using 6.1 and PI worked great. I also liked SBSH Cal. touch but it was not as robust. BUT now that I upgraded to 6.5 I am trying to stay away from any of them since none fully work with it :'(
Thanks,
SoBBie

This is so true. I tried PI8 and SBSH. Neither worked right. However, Thumbcal is working like a champ.

I have been using Agenda Fusion 8 for a few years and find it to be, by far, the most productive app on my phone. It works fine on my 6.5 ROM. I can read and write current and new appointments and tasks with no problems at all. Frankly I was surprised to see that some other apps are not working with 6.5.
If you try Agenda Fusion 8, be sure to give it a good try. It has so much functionality that it takes a while to sort through what you will use and not use. The trial is 15 days. It has a great interface for tasks and appointements. It also has the ability to create templates for new appointments and tasks to speed repetitive entry on the go. The app is stylus based and not finger friendly, but as a business application to manage my Outlook data on my phone, I have never found anything that even comes remotely close, and I have tried several.
There are several that look better, but none that are more productive.

Hi,
In order to get an overview of my appointments in different colors I have the following setup:
- I use Oggsync to sync OTA my Google calendars (category is automatically assigned for each calendar)
- I've installed 'Manila Today Page' http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=508102%5C
- On the extra Manila page, obtained from MTP I've put TodayAgenda http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2723505, which allows to display all of my appointments, with colors according to their category.
- I use Thumbcal to create appointments for it's 'finger-friendliness'.

AgendaFusion looks good but I dont think they ever made it touch friendly ... I will play with it again but pretty sure it is stylus based. PI8 and SBSH both are great for thumb use. PI8 has just as much functionality as AgendaFusion PLUS it has the touch feature which is very nice.
But that is my personal preferance. I want a thumb based organizer. ThumbCal works fine but I use tasks a lot and I dont know if it handles that (dont think so last I checked) but I may also take a look at that one.
Thanks,
SoBBie

You are absolutely correct. Agenda Fusion is not the least bit finger friendly. For me however, I can use the simple Today screen on 6.5 to see upcomming appointments. But if I really need to spend time with my calendar and tasks, I use Agenda Fusion. It works so well for me, that I do not even take my laptop home or on appointments. Everything I need is accessible through Agenda Fusion.
I did write to DeveloperOne a couple of months ago to see if a newer release is scheduled. They have stopped development becuase they already had so much functionality, there was really nothing left to do. So... no finger friendly versions are headed your way...
If I had a tool to do so, I would post screen shots, but I do not have anything.
Doug M.
Doug,
I am playing with agenda fusion... and yes, it is a good program. But, I would advice you to try PI8 again (wait till Windows Mobile 6.5 comes out and they update it). PI8 has at least as much functionality as AF but they were smart enough to make it touch freindly. I am not saying jump right into it but I would advice you to try it again. if you are still using a 6.1 ROM then I would suggest that you give it a try now... but as I said above if you are on 6.5 dont bother with it yet... but try it as soon as they build a version for it.
Have a great day,
SoBBie
Please help, why pocket e-sword menu for book, chapter, and verse are squeeze in mostly new ROMs dated 2009.
This program was work perfectly in earlier ROM.
Any solution?
Same issue
I've had this same issue with the shrunk toolbar icons and misalignment of some of the controls. I'm not sure what the solution is.
One more
I've been using pocket e-sword since ages (dell x50v, Hermes, Kaiser, Raphael) and this is the first phone which has trouble displaying it. Actually my original 1.90.405.1 Raphael ROM did show it correctly, the trouble came with the official 5.05.401.1 upgrade in February.
I can confirm that EnergyROM 2.0 41609 also suffers, though e-sword was one of the first things I tried on it :-(
Maybe we should also bug Rick Meyers to try to see the cause of the problem. Hopefully all new WM phones, not just HTCs will be effected, so the pressure might increase. He upgraded the program when the new VGA PDAs came out.... The best Bible program in my opinion!
I sent him this bug report:
[greetings...] This February I upgraded my VGA WM6.1 HTC Touch Pro to a new ROM version, and e-sword appears garbled. As I've been searching for a solution to this problem I'm starting to realize the amount of people being effected, anybody with a newer HTC phone: VGA, WVGA alike :-( While we are trying to find a solution, I can imagine it might be a very little change in your program which could fix the problem... Maybe not...
The icons shrunk to quarter size, forms squeezed to half width (I'd gladly send screenshots, let me know if they would help). I'm still trying to use the program, but it's almost impossible. Maybe there's an easy fix. I'd guess it has to do with the screen metrics the OS reports to e-sword and the way e-sword then uses these values. People also think it could be related to .Net 3.5, but even if I force my PDA to use 2.0 it doesn't seem to fix. [greetings...]

I submitted the problem twice through the website with no reply. Sounds like he's got to be well aware of it by now.
I've got some commercial software that works ok, but it just doesn't function as well. Also, there aren't as many commentaries available.
I've been looking around for a solution to this problem as well. I have a Sprint Touch Pro; it works when I use the original ROM that came on the device, but on any other ROM from any kitchen that I've tried (including WM 6.5) this problem exists where the program seems to think it is on a QVGA device,. I've gone through the registry looking for the possibility that something has the wrong resolution encoded there, but I've not been successful.
There is a config file for the Pocket e-Sword itself; perhaps on VGA devices it sets a value in this file (for those cases where it works)? I'd rather not go back to the stock ROM at this point, so perhaps someone else can look at this file (\Program Files\Pocket e-Sword\Pocket e-Sword.config) to see if there is anything related to resolution there when it is displaying correctly?
I've emailed Rick Myers through their web site also, and like the others I've heard nothing unfortunately so far.
Confirmed
I can also confirm this on elite RC3 ROM for the Fuze.
Thanks for bringing this up, Im running the NRG Rom which is great but having the same issue. Esword working properly would make make the Fuze the best phone I have ever had.

I agree, the config file is just for storing personal settings. What we need is a response from RM. I've sent bug reports in the past and never had replies, which is a shame!
I'm glad someone mentioned that forcing .net 2 doesn't help I was about to try that!
Here are the ROMs I've tried that e-s has these problems with:
Official HTC Touch Pro Updated ROM
Elite ROM RC4
Shep's ROM 21222
Shep's ROM 21232
I haven't found a modern ROM that works as yet but if I do I'll let everyone know.

e-word display problem
Hello,
I wanted to communicate you only briefly, that i contacted Rick and he work on the problem with the display.
Bye,
Tom
Great new to hear Rick is working on the problem.
Hopefully we get as well an update for the pocket e-Sword (the desktop version just launched a new version recently)
A new version has been released!
It solves almost all problems, the only thing left (at least on my Raphael) is that the bible text is WAY too large, even with the smallest font size selected. I've contacted Rick about it, hopefully he'll come up with something.
Pocket e-Sword for Windows Mobile 6 (VGA only)

Pocket e-Sword for Windows Mobile 6 (VGA only) (v3.1.0) 4,452kb
Updated 06-22-09
Not tested it yet as I'm at work on a Mac but hopefully all is well now!
Thanks Rick! (If you're reading this?)
Update: Having now tested it on my Touch Pro running WM6.5, I can confirm that everything that was teeny tiny, is now as it should be - top marks! That said, the text size is abnormally large... hopefully Rick gets wind of this bug and fixes soon otherwise people will be reading over my shoulder on the train - maybe that's not such a bad thing!?
New version works on Touch Pro2
Hi all
I am using the new (VGA) version on my Touch Pro2 and it seems to work well. A couple of times it's not been able to open the bible and other resources but a soft reset solves this.
Cheers

First I wanna thank all the ROM devs around here for their work and time spend to bring us all the new user interfaces to our X1´s. After working for years in developing a linux system I think I know what time and effort you put into this development.
I wanna share how I found MY perfect solution for a ROM which had to fulfill my needs which are:
- fully german localized, because I am a german Kraut
- no major bugs, if possible also no minor bugs
- eye candy
- smooth operation
- good battery performance
- Sense UI 2.1 with weather clock
You have to know I am a "power user", which means I am using the phone for managing my mails (Profimail), surfing the web, chatting, watching Youtube vids, doing phone calls (even that!), playing games, listen to web radio and also FM radio and much more.
After flashing a huge amount of the available ROMs, tweaking them and finally being disappointed after using them for a few days because of the bugs here and there, this is what is working for me for a handful of days now and as far as I can tell, this will be a keeper on my phone:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
I flashed Itjes Touch It v3 (german edition) which can be found here: KLICK ME!
This ROM at least was fully german, smooth, with a good RAM usage and a good default software setup. Also it doesnt drain the battery as much as the Manila 2.5 ROMs do.
But this ROM disappointed me in two things, which now are solved for me:
Bug:
There was a (known) problem with the hardware keyboard when trying to type formula data inside Opera browser.
Solution:
Installing Opera 9.7 solved the issue. Cab can be found here: http://www.opera.com/mobile/download/
Bug:
In the german rom the software dialer pad was misaligned and unusable, see this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4832499&postcount=39
Solution:
As I wrote above, I also was looking for eyecandy on my Xperia. I did experiment with various themes and finally settled on the Dusk theme.
Installing the Dusk (Rhodium) dialer fixed the dialer issue!
The complete Dusk theme for Sense 2.1 can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=570322
Addons (the dialer!) can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=524797
For completion I added S2U2 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=527523) with dusk theme (http://s2u2.lifestylepics.de/?page=b&e_id=63).
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
For me this combination seems a perfect solution, maybe some of my german mates here can benefit from my experience.
Again a big THANK YOU! to the ROM devs, in this case especially to Itje!
Have fun,
OldNick
Thank you for sharing these informations with us and especially thank you, those who made these nice Rom's and Cab's.
I flashed many Rom's and jumped from one to the other and there are so many, that I have lost the overview. What I miss, is a list with ratings of the Rom's and some kind of clearly laid out list of critique.
But to cut a long story short, great Rom, great Cabs, great advice.
greez
Great solution, although the original dailer would be better than the dusk dialer.
and unfortunately still the mms issue here which I haven't been able to solve...
I added the X2 dialer. Looks rather precious.

Whats wrong with the Dusk dialer? I like how it integrates in the rest of the dusk-themed system. The original dialer would look a bit strange... At least for my taste.

questions?
Can you tell me some more about the ram-usage?
How much ram is available after some time of normal usage?
On my device its around 50-60% after use of some apps and stays there. Beside running different apps I also have a handful of appointments with reminders active each day and I am using the phone as router for my notebook too. I didnt face any RAM problems up to now. Of course a small bit of the RAM is needed by the dusk theme, so you wont be able to come down to 40-45%.
Great
That sounds great ! I will give it a try
Thank you for sharing your experiences with this rom.
My last WM6.5 was a catastrophy and I was just on my way back to the original wm6.1 rom.
Greetz
Marc
Good luck!
Good luck and tell us your experience with this combination!
Thanks man, finally a WM6.5 which works. Every other german RON I tried, was deleted just a few hours later. Everytime switchd back to cmex 0.8 WM6.1.
Nice solution, looks pretty neat, but has issues - at least for me. Maybe you can help?
For one, the Weather tab just won't update - it did once, 4 days ago, but never since. Hitting the refresh button makes that little globe icon rotate for a few seconds, then nothing. Any suggestions?
Also, Google Maps doesn't seem to pick up any satellites - maybe it doesn't interface with GPS properly, maybe GPS just doesn't see any satellites (weather has been rather crappy these days, so I'm rather reluctant to go out). QuickGPS won't update either. I'm getting slightly frustrated here...
No problems at all on my phone. Everything works properly. Do you have a naked one installed or do you have other apps installed as well?
I followed the suggestions in the original post to get the entire look (very neat), only additional piece of software I installed was Mobipocket Reader.
I really have no idea what the problem is here... Might have to reset and see what that changes.
looks very interesting to me. I always looked for max speed and eyecandy. I also like wm6.5 wich is much more finger friendly. Probably will check this one out. how is battery performance?? always had problams with my X1 and its battery. It sometimes only last for one or two days because of heave performance usage in the background. the real x-button never worked for me :-(
Ok, so I just installed this ROM and also modified it the same way you did. At the beginning typing with the virtual keyboard went fine. But suddenly without any know reason the virtual keyboard changed into "nubmer input" so just signs and numbers. And the key to switch back to qwertz is missing. it should be next to # but there is only a black button. Any suggestions?
Would really appreciate it, if I don't have to do a hard reset or switch to another ROM.
The same problem I've got also.
I already made some posts like http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5256704&postcount=972 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=606499 but no solution yet. Thinking about changing to another german ROM like XKan's Topaz v1.07 or YYYYY's H.V4.1
Which Radio version you use?!
tried what you said... and its very nice thx but just use the x2 dialer instead and dont use the dusk theme :] and opera 10 beta which is awesome
I found a way to switch back to "normal keyboard" but not to disable number keypad at all. You have to search for persons in your contact menu. Maybe another textfield works also.
I'm using Softwareversion R3AA010
I don't know why, but my battery decreses really fast since yesterday. I charged it using notebook connection. Before I installed this ROM I always had problems with killing Active Sync. I disconnected from the notebook, Active Sync closed but after some time started again and ran in background. How longs does your battery last?
When I change the settings for the softkeys in settings/personal,
it always resets it to default when restarting the device,
any fix for that?
I have decided to retire this ROM, it has served it's purpose and it is time to move on.
I'm very new at this, so don't expect anything flashy, I'm going for stability.
I'm working on a T-Mobile stable stock 6.5 foundation ROM.
The idea is to start with the stock 6.5 release and remove any apps that can be updated from the Internet. That way you always have a stable ROM with most of the standard features found in the T-Mobile 6.5 release and you get to pick and choose what structures you want to build on top of your foundation.
Due to multiple removal requests, I'm no longer hosting this ROM, however, other people are providing mirrors.

Changelog
v0.5 - First release
v0.51 - Minor bugfixes
v0.6 - Fixed some menu items, updated XDA_UC
v0.7 - 1% battery driver. Added some changes to XDA_UC.
v1.0RC - Fixed minor issues with XDA_UC. Registry. ROM appears stable.
v1.0 - Released - Stable
Flash at your own risk. This ROM is pre-configured for T-Mobile US phones only. Other phones may not work, and Verizon/Sprint phones absolutely will not work and you will brick your phone..
ROM has the following removed:
Google Maps
Handango
MyPhone
Bing
Facebook
MyFaves
Visual Voicemail
Sample Music
OZ IM
Windows Live
Windows Live IM
WM Live Search Widget
WM Money Search Widget
WM Weather Search Widget
Jetcet (I never use it, but if people want it back in I'll keep it in)
Updated:
.NET CF to 3.5
Sense 2.1 - Compressed CFC
Turned off Push Internet to save memory, can be turned back on easily.
Added:
XDA_UC - I don't use it (yet), but I'm guessing some people might find it useful.
Things I left in and why:
Office 2007 - So you can upgrade to office 2010 via the marketplace.
Opera 9.5 - It's a solid browser, it works well and you can always add Mobile 5 later.
Youtube - This version seems to work well on the TP2, I'm not going to break a working app, again, can be updated to Google's latest version.
Sense 2.1 - The ROM came with this version and it performs well. I CFC'd it to improve memory, I did not notice much of a difference, but it can't hurt.
Structures
A Structure is a simple app or script to build on top of the Foundation ROM. Examples of structures would be an script to re-order the menu, or something to update a core component. They are completely optional and should be easy to customize.
I've attached a simple script to organize the start menu a little better. Rename it to menus.mscr and run it on the phone. Like I said, it's very simple, feel free to open it in notepad and make changes to your liking.
The second script is nobackup.mscr, it will remove the T-Mobile backup app from the startup and menus.
Much Success
May you be very successful in this. I just got into flashing a couple of days ago and its the coolest thing. I have the HD2 my wife likes what I am doing a wants to have some fun as well which is why I am in this section. I will check to see what progress your able to make.
I would have liked to have Telenav cooked in because I can never get it to work on custom ROMs so I have just settled for TomTom... But you may also want to remove the IM apps because a lot of people including myself just use Palringo (much like ebuddy if you are familiar with it)... Good luck with this, I was sad to see the Timor series discontinued as I am a T-Mobile USA customer too, but maybe this can be better.

I fixed some problems and put up version 0.51.

I think you should keep it simple and try not to add custom gfx/icons. Leave that up to other chefs like Sergio and NRG.
I also think you should leave in youtube, MS Voice Command and the email setup wizard. Can you toss in the latest version of Office and Palringo?
You should also stick to Sense 2.1 for obvious reasons. (RAM, stability)

better folder layout (Again, do I do this in ROM, or would you rather do it yourself)
sense 2.5 (might be too tough)
Are there any additional apps that should be in the ROM.

As this is your rom most of this should be up to you and what you think is best, but to keep most happy, I would say keep HTC Youtube because the Google version is not as good as HTC's app, and HTC Youtube is very tricky to get to work via CAB. Everything else you mentioned I would remove. I can only give my advice as to what I think you are trying to accomplish here, a stable and clean rom for T-Mobile users. So I'd stay away from Sense 2.5, because then you would probably have to change the WM build for stability reasons... And in that case you may be better off starting with the stock rom that comes with Sense 2.5 (which would make this no different from the popular Energy or DeepShining roms). So, to stay away from that I would leave the Sense and WM builds alone.
Other than that, I'd stay away from freeware apps that can easily be added via CAB. If you intend to include UC in the future it will be easy to get our favorite apps installed. But some are best off cooked in, like Youtube and Telenav... But one of my pet peeves is chefs throwing in Total Commander, and I am a Resco Explorer user. Total Commander can easily be installed wit a CAB, no problem. These apps I feel should be left out of custom roms. And I would also leave icons as is... Too much time wasted on something we can and usually will customize ourselves, more focus should be put on speed, stability, battery life, etc...
I will try this out soon.
EDIT: OK here is some feedback after a few minutes of use...
-You have an empty Instant Messaging start menu folder
-T-Mobile's e-mail setup app is redundant because there is an HTC app which does the same thing
-Very fluid, responsive, and fast
-Start menu needs some cleaning up
Thanks for the feedback.
I'm working on the next release which will fix a couple of minor issues, fix the menu up and I'm thinking about Office Mobile 2010.
I'm avoiding adding Palringo for now, it's easily installed.
Overall, I'm happy with the ROM so far, it boots up to about 50% free memory, it's fast and the battery life is excellent.
I'm always open to any suggestions, comments or other ideas, so keep them coming.
v.06 released
I have released version .06 which fixes some issues with XDA_UC and creates some submenus to hold the extra tools and internet components.
Please send feedback.
Also, I will start writing a few minor structures to build on this foundation in the upcoming days.
Downloading now...
I've uploaded a simple script (see third post) that will improve the menus for anyone who likes a more organized layout.
I'm also going to write one to disable the T-Mobile backup service.
A few things to consider for future releases:
- Add 1% battery driver and 1% compatible taskbar (stock with battery % above the icon)
- Additional tabs
- 4 rows start menu
- Action Screen
Other than that, this rom seems pretty close to final IMO... Maybe update Office to 2010 or remove it, I'd also remove Mobile Backup. Really loving this rom so far, my only complaint is the problem with starting up where you get the select time zone screen. It happened to me on the stock rom too, but I was hoping for some kind of fix.

I'm looking into all of them, including office 2010. Mobile Backup is easy to remove, I've uploaded a mini script for that. See post 3.
As for the timezone, you shouldn't be getting it. I have not seen it myself since I did a task29 clean, you might want to look into that.
Yes I did so too... But I have been getting it on and off. I got the same thing happening with the stock rom.

You might want to remove Office 2007. Office 2010 is now a free download to any device that has WM6.5 installed. In keeping with your stated theme that anything that has an upgrade is removed that should qualify. I will be trying your new ROM soon.
I would love to see a T-Mobile ROM with manila 2.5

Unfortunately, it's not a free download unless you have Office 2007 installed. Attempting to install on a ROM without 2007 will fail.
Another solution is to use a copy of Office 2010 found here, but I'm reluctant to do so. I would rather keep the ability to download updates from Microsoft.
