Not sure if anyone is interested but I created a ROM using a bare T-Mobile 2.26 with the complete Extended ROM from the Cingular 2.25. This is for unlocked G3 type phones ONLY as it has the 2.26 IPL/SPL embedded.
This was my very first attempt at cooking a ROM and it didn't turn out bad if you need a truely Cingular looking phone. Actually I can't tell the difference except it's much faster than the stock 2.25.
This has no customizations included and was for fun only. I've been running it today with no problems. Being as that I don't need GoodLink email or other such Cingular stuff I'll be flashing tomorrow to something different. (but that's me ...)
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Wizard/Roms/Other_Unknown/Cingular_RUU_Wizard_2.26
I forgot to include the .rar extension when I UL'ed to the FTP, sorry! ( DUH! )
thank you. I've been using the 2,265 for some time now. it looks like these newer roms seem to be faster and better performance wise.
so this is a basic rom with cingular customizations? I'm deciding on either trying this out,the aku 2.3 beta by shogun or waiting for the next aku 3.2 release.
just wondering. will we see any official cingular/htc releases or have they abandoned the wizard?
If on a Cingular network I'm kinda partial to the shogunmark ROM. For a beta it's worked out pretty well and I'm going back to it today probably.
The 3.2 is a work in progress, not ready for primetime IMO.
This ROM I threw together is for those that need all the Cingular stuff that come on the stock phone. It's got the Cingular Splash Screen, complete Cingular Extended ROM and that's it. It's near impossible to tell that it's not the stock ROM unless you purposely look at the device info. I was simply addressing an extremely small (if existent at all) need for such a critter and to have a little fun.
Thanks, this is what I was looking for. I am going to load this today.
Keep up the good work.
bout time you put that out..
Wow! If only one person benefits from this ROM I'm tickled!
Good luck!

All those union breaks I guess! And it actually turned out nice, quite quick in stock mode without molski's speed and performance tweaks... actually never got around to installing any reg hacks as I was happy with it the way it performed. Back to your ROM now though as I don't need all that Cingular stuff ... with my enhancements added in of course !
Will this rom work on the qtek 1010?
I wouldn't thinks so, being that that you're referring to a Wallaby I believe.
Sorry!
Would you happen to know how to get cingular to work on my Wallaby?

Sounds like you might need to unlock it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=1190&highlight=unlock
I believe that you need to change over to the Wallaby upgrading etc. instead of looking in this Forum. From a 5 minute search there it would appear that the Wallaby working on the Cingular network would require you having 1900 MHZ coverage rather than the typical 850 MHZ which I don't believe that the Wallaby supports. I'm not a Wallaby owner however and claim no knowledge of the device nor do I really care to learn.
The subject I posted here was Cingular 2.26 ROM. It is for Wizards only. If you happened to be able to flash it to your device I'm sure it would cease to exist as a usable device. If your question is regarding the Wallaby operating on the Cingular network you're in the wrong place.
Sorry and good luck!
Thank you for the info, but I decided to sell it to someone in Europe. But thaks for the help
What is in ext rom? I dunno cingular rom...
If you dunno you dunneed!
(Trust me !)
in the beta versionn, the voice dial button locked the phone. in this one does the voice dial button really do voice dial???
This is the standard Cingular Extended ROM - no more and no less
going 2.26.. can't go back?

Back to what? My psychic advisor is on vacation...
Actually if you CID unlocked you can install whatever ROM you want. Typically you have to downgrade to the 1.05 ROM to the downgrade to another ROM lower than the 2.226, say the 2.24.
But you really should get into the habit of including all information about your ROM when you ask questions here.
Hey guys,
I bought a new unlocked Tilt (Kaiser 8925) the other day and I tried to install PointUI on it, but it seems to be choking with the AT&T OS.
I figured it might be prudent to flash to the standard HTC ROM without all the extra AT&T crap (I'm on T-Mobile, so it needs to work with that at least, lol). Problem is I don't know WHAT ROM to download or even how to install it. I did some digging around and a friend recommended this forum to me so I'm hoping you guys can help. I did poke around but didn't see any threads relating to what I need, but I could have easily missed one.
Either way, please help. Thanks!
System info:
HTC AT&T branded Tilt (Kaiser 8925) running WM6.0 (CE OS 5.2.1620 build 18125.0.4.2). ROM Version 1.57.502.2 (8/25/07) with radio version 1.27.12.11 and protocol version 22.45.88.07H.
The problem that presents with PointUI is this: When the UI loads other apps (messaging, contacts, there is a gap at top, it won't go back to the home, and it stops working all together). I am using PUI 1.02b. If I am using the wrong one, let me know!
Thanks in advance for the help guys. Sorry I'm a nub.
you did not spend enough time poking around

welcome to the forums
Thanks!
I did actually go through those, but I didn't know which ROM I should get. The closest I was able to figure out was by matching the radio versions, correct?
1.56.405.5 (radio 1.27.12.11) original wwe rom found here would be the appropriate one in this case then?
Also, since mine is an unlocked AT&T phone on T-Mobile, I'm going to have to unlock it again, or with the ROM listed above suffice?
I'm ready to Flash my 750 for T-Mo usa but I've read a lot of different opinions here. I'd rather not flash and reflash a million times to get it right. If anyone has played around with these roms and radios, which one would you recommend for T-Mo usa? (would rather avoid AT&T stuff)
So far I gather:
ROM: Not sure which one, lite or full, cooked or not
Radio: 1.54.30.10 (even though some say it's for AT&T)
C'mon guys, someone make a suggestion... I'm sure others can benefit from this as well.
I can not recommend the radio
but I tried both - the lite and the normal versions, and the normal is better and stable.

Hello..
I am gettign a good deal on a Sprint TP2 .... I am currently usign a Kaiser(Tilt) and love it... I am unlocking the Sprint TP2 so I can use it with a GSM providor.... I was wondering if someone can reccomend a hopefulyl unbranded Rom & radio combo that are known to work with this phone.. The gsm carrier I will be using is called Einstein PCS... But I think any one that works well for AT&T will be good for me as I roam i ntheir networks often.. I am not worried about the 3G speeds as my carrier doesn;t offer that, and I will usually just use Wifi anyways.. Thank you in advance...
Lately lots of people ask this question, but no one want to answer I think you must flash some Roms and choose the best in your opinion

Firstly, DO NOT flash a GSM ROM, or use any of the GSM unlockers. Head over to the Rhodium CMDA forum and use the tools there.
Secondly, just pick the ROM that you like the look of, there are some in the CDMA forum and a few more on PPCGeeks IIRC. It's not that hard, if you don't like the look of a ROM, change it, if you don't like any, put the stock ROM back on.

I had my TILT 2 for almost a year now. I don't know what to get. I am kind of scared which ROM to install. I read the forums but most of them are too in depth and complicated..a noob like wouldn't understand anything. My phone lags and freezes a lot. Can ROM solve this issue? If so what should I get? I am getting bored and annoyed with my phone please help. I know I am gonna get a lot of comment like "read the forums or something" I've been reading them and they don't really give the info I need.
I appreciate any suggestions and advices.
Thank You

The stock ROMs are generally pretty bloated and prone to freezing. I would recommend that you read the Hard SPL thread, then go ahead and flash the Hard SPL. This will enable to you flash any ROM you like.
Once you have done that first step, just choose a ROM (look over the various choices in this section). You can always flash a different choice later.
WARNING: Make sure your phone is GSM before flashing a ROM from this forum!
^^^^ what he said
You've got nothing to lose and everything to gain by flashing a custom ROM - you can always try another one or go back to stock if you don't like it. Just make sure you back up any data that you want to restore (e.g. contacts, messages etc) before you flash.
All the info you need are in the stickies - e.g. the HardSPL thread for flashing HardSPL, and the "Flashing your First GSM Rhodium ROM" thread.
If you're not sure which ROM to pick, you could always just pick one of the most popular ones to start with, based on the assumption there must be a fairly good reason for those to be the more popular ones.
what I did
Hey
I am about to flash my phone too. I also have it for more then a year ( since last September ) and i did a bit of research just for piece of mind
The most important step is Hard SPL this is so if something goes horribly wrong u can still re-flash it to try and repair the damage ( someone confirm this: there no hardware damage done when u flash , its all just software), besides its also needed in order to flash custom roms aka cooked roms.
For what custom rom to get I did the folowing: sorted the threads based on stats ( posts / views ) and looked at the most popular ones and something struck: Energy rom by NRGZ28 is BY FAR the most popular one, so it must be good for a 1st try then some new unknown cooked rom
Also if you would like to get more info I found this youtube video ( 20 mins / 2 parts ) very informative:
Since I'm new and can't post links search for " Real Time ROM Flashing " and u will find it.

HardSPL removes the SPL lock which normally only allows flashing of ROMs officially released by your carrier. Without it, you won't be flashing anything, except official ROM updates from your carrier. Yes, HardSPL allows you to run Task29, which formats/wipes the memory. And in some cases this can help you recover from a bad flash. Sometimes flashing back to the stock ROM can help you recover as well.

Energy ROM is what I use, and I love it. Its a good tradoff of speed/stability and looks/features. But some feel its not the fastest or most "lightweight" ROM out there. If you want that, some people have recommend Jackos or Valkyrie. Also, lots of people like Deep Shining.
There really is no "best" ROM. It depends on whether you prefer eye candy or speed (or somewhere in the middle), what kind of apps you like to have cooked in, etc.
But I agree to the previous advice given to the OP. Flashing a custom ROM will fix many, many things over the stock ROM. Your phone will be faster, more stable, and have more functionality and features. Figuring out how to flash a custom ROM can be a little intimidating at first. But once you've learned how to do it, its really a snap. And then you will wonder why you ever waited so long to do it! Just make sure you read all the "stickied" guides, read as much as you can about the ROM you are flashing, and follow the instructions carefully.

I recommend Jackos S2 Rom. It is by far the fastest rom i've tried. When you first flash it, it looks very close to a stock rom and it works great just like that and if you want to, you can modify it to your liking. If you want to take a look, you can find the thread here--->http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=632617. If you want to see what it looks like modified, take a look at my profile pic. Jackos rom has been what i've used for the last few months. Like everyone else before me said, do the HSPL before anything.
Thanks everyone. Really really appreciate all the comments. You guys definitely gave me enough ideas and confidence to flash my phone. I can't wait XD

You can also read ROM reviews on The Wingster. But there's no best ROM as everyone said. Find something that fits what you need....
If you want SPEED: Choose a Sense 2.1 ROM or even a ROM without Sense (a.k.a. Titanium)
If you want FEATURES: Choose a Sense 2.5 ROM, with CookieHomeTab or another similar enhancement. They will be slower overall, but they have some neat extra features.
Go with Windows Mobile 6.5.5 unless you really like the Windows Mobile 6.5 design.
Then test out a few ROM's and see what works for you.
If you need any help, in addition to the forums, you can use the Support link on The Wingster and I can help you out. But if you read all of the instructions, everything should work well!
I did my little research and I believe it's a GSM. My phone is TILT 2..is that right?

If you bought your phone from AT&T, then YES it is a Tilt 2, which is GSM.
Your phone is always GSM except if you bought it from Verizon, Sprint, or Telus. Every other provider (T-Mobile, AT&T, and worldwide ones) is GSM!
So if yours is GSM, pick any ROM from the forums here.

Only CDMA Worldphones do have a sim slot.
Sorry guys, but I´m a little bit noobish about that. How can I get if I am "GSM" or "CDMA" with Touch Pro 2 for sure ? I still don´t get the signs of recognizing....
I saw some thread about it, but still do not understand the problem of this separation.

Take the back off your phone, remove the battery, and look for some lettering under there. It should say "RHODxxx", where the "xxx" are three digits.
RHOD100, RHOD200, RHOD300 (and variants) are GSM. RHOD400 and RHOD500 are CDMA.

Yea only a dual band phone would still have a slot if it has gsm slot its gsm or dual band point blank... Know what your talking about before you speak..
can a world phone use these roms?
i just got my touch pro 2 off ebay for $200, new in box, which is a pretty good deal. Anyway I want 2 flash one of these roms. The phone's original company is Telus. This phone's marked RH0D500, it's got a GSM slot but is listed as CDMA... (I'm on at&t) From what I read it seems that this has to be treated as a CDMA phone? r there any cdma roms that will still allow me to get corporate emails and use all the good functions of this phone? Oh if anyone's interested the guy i got it from on ebay has like 5 more, but if they're only going to work with CDMA roms then people should probably not buy them for that reason...

As far as I am aware "RHOD00" is not a valid marking. Is that a typo? Or maybe you should look again. It should be RHOD100, RHOD200, RHOD300, RHOD400, RHOD500, and there may be some variants, like RHOD210. But there should be 3 digits after "RHOD" under the battery. Looking around the net, the Telus version should be RHOD500.
All the "CDMA" variants of the Touch Pro 2 actually also have a GSM radio as well (and therefore a SIM slot) since they are intended for "World" use (international travel). This is because CDMA alone is nearly useless for foreign travel, since most countries outside of North America use GSM. So the presence of a SIM slot will not tell you whether its GSM or CDMA.
For the purposes of these forums, the versions of the TP2 that are CDMA/GSM are considered "CDMA" and can only flash the CDMA ROMs. Phones that are solely GSM radio should only be flashed with GSM ROMs. Flashing a GSM ROM to a CDMA/GSM Rhodium will render it inoperative.
The Telus version of the TP2 looks to have the correct GSM bands (850 and 1900 MHz) to work on ATT. But the phone will need to be SIM unlocked, if it isn't already. If you Google around, you will find some posts on the net (and probably on here too), where people have gotten the CDMA/GSM versions to work on AT&T and T-Mobile, so it should work (if SIM unlocked). But it appears you will only have EDGE data speed, not 3G, since the HSDPA/UMTS radios seem to be missing from the Telus version, based on looking at the phone's specs.
You would have been better off buying the ATT version of the phone, the Tilt2. Its the only version that has the necessary hardware to get 3G data speeds on the ATT network. And you should completely understand all the specs before you buy any phone that isn't from your carrier.
