OK, so I had some all day items in my calendar that weren't showing up on my tilt. So I tried and tried to replicate the occurence but I couldn't. Well after a couple weeks I've finally traced the issue, here's what happens.
I'll be on the road and will create an item on my calendar on my laptop (seems to only happen for all day items that I have "labelled", where you choose a color), but outlook will be "disconnected". I will then get home and regain connection to my outlook server, and the items will sync. Well usually, almost instantaneously, the item will be pushed to my tilt and will show up on it's calendar, but they don't.
So can someone test this on their device? Just disconnect outlook (you can right click on the "connected" in the bottom right portion of the status bar to disconnect), create an all day, labelled event for say, tomorrow. Then reconnect outlook, and sync your device.... does it show up?
Noone can take 30 seconds out of their busy day to test this?
I haven't run the test that you're asking, but I have around 100 recurring all day events with labels attached and they're showing up on my TyTN II (holidays, birthdays, conferences, etc).

And I have lots of labelled items showing up as well.... the key here is that the item has to be created AND labelled before being sent to the server.
Example 1: You create an all day event while outlook is connected to server. By the time you save, and right click on the new event to label it, outlook has already sent the event with no label to the server, and this is replicated to the tilt, without a label. Then you label the event in outlook, and the event is simply modded, and that mod sent to the tilt.
Example 2: You create an all day even while outlook is NOT connected to the server, and once you save it, it is NOT sent to the server. Then you label it, and reconnnect. The event is then sent as a new event, label and all, which is in turn sent to the tilt as a new event WITH a label, which I suspect the tilt doesn't like.
Think about it in terms of mail. How many times have you been away for a while, done a send receive in outlook (from say a POP client into your exchange mailbox) and when the mail comes in, you have rules that move it from the inbox to a certain folder, this happens almost instantaneously but I still have had items pop up in my normal inbox on my tilt because of that split second it's actually in the inbox before it's moved to a folder.
Played around with outlook calendar some more yesterday and I can also replicate the issue by doing the following:
Find an all day, labelled event somewhere on your calendar, copy it (click on it while hitting Ctrl-C very quickly, this is in month view), and paste is on a different date. That new event should not show up on your tilt calendar if you are syncing over the air (as in over the cell network, not a bluetooth or wi-fi sync to your home computer)
Can SOMEONE try this? Not asking for your first born.
bumpity bump

Blackjack and MotoQ
I can confirm the same issue for a user here using both a Blackjack I and MotoQ.
Hi dear developers,
Do you know if its possible to make pOutlook contacts that have birthdays filled to have it assingned as an all day event in Calendar ???
Unfortunally i have to Sync my Calendar/Tasks with work PC outlook and Contacts with my Home PC outlook so i guess i could not use the sync trick to do this.
I have a terrible memory for birthdays (once i have forget mine ) and i could not use that great birthday today plugin with TF3D...
Is it possible to do it programmatically?
Thanks for the help.
CreativeBR
Well I sync my Diamond with Outlook and I don`t have any problem with that ... all birthday`s are displayed as all day events on Diamond
All my birthdays are displayed as all day events as well...! Only annoying thing is, every time Outlook adds an alarm reminder to the newly added birthdays. When I forget to delete them, I will be remindered 15 minutes before midnight... I already cleared the Default Reminder option.
Has everybody a solutuoin for this problem? I have the same problem as CreativeBR. When i sync my outlook calendar with active sync, i have no birthdays.
you must sync the contacts
hi biersoeldner,
in order to get the all day events synced to your phone (via activesync) you have to sync your contacts and not only the calendar. the birthdays are coming out of the contact entries and are only displayed in your outlook.
I have synced (in activesync) the contacts and the calendar. Now i have checked the details of the contacts and there are no birthdays.
Some birthdays I have written direct in the calendra an they also not in my xda. I use Outlook 2007 an HTC ROM-Version: 1.93.407.1 GER.
Currently I have checkt birthday, which were in the near future and lock they are there. I belive I shoud check the differenz between this persons!
thx for the answer!
I put birthdays into the calendar as standard all-days events, repeating on the same day every year (and set an alarm of 5 days out to remember to buy that card/present!). You don't touch the contact entries then. Will happily sync between PC outlook and mobile outlook then.
I had found a workaround for my problem, if i delete the series of appointments and i create it again, than is the appointment on the pda calendra. Could someone explain me this?
None of this could help me because i need to sync Calendar/Tasks with the work outlook and it has so many business contacts (that i dont want in my personal mobile).
Thats why i cant send my personal contact birthdays to outlook and receive the all day events via calendar.
That free birthday today plugin fits nicely to what i need but i cant have it running with TF3D.
Maybe SecondToday app could help me... But run it just for one today plugin 8(
since someone mentioned birthday problems in calendar...
does anyone of you have the problem when synchronizing the device...
birthdays are synced, they r showed in the device, but they will disappear in outlook... but if you do a search it's there, it just won't show up in the calendar view...
i currently need to re-enter my contacts b-day to make it visible again in outlook...
anyone having the same problem too???
The only way I've ever been able to reliably add birthdays is add a new recurring event, starting on the year of birth. Then each subsequent event has a number in brackets indicating the age that year.
Contacts, plug-ins, any other way just didn't seem to work for me.
well...
My pc sync very well with pda all contacts and birthdays... but, the problem is that birthday, doesn't show in tf3d! What can I do? there is any tweak for this problem?
Hello,
Can anyone tell me how you use the agenda birthday reminder with HTC Diamond ? I've just bought the phone and sync it with mail2web (outlook exchange service on Internet). The phone is not reminding me birthdays which is annoying me...
Before, I was using TYNT II with Spb Diary plugin which was great ! It was showing the coming birthdays and also ringing the D-day.
I read that other Diamond users had also this kind of issue. To solve it they manage birthday's on Outlook contact (on their computer) to generate entire day event and then sync it with their phone.
Do you know another way to get this reminder work ?
Thank you
i HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM... HOW CAN i USE BIRTH REMINDER ON TOUCH FLO.
ANY BODY KNOW???
LEO
It seems that no one else has this kind of problem....
i do, but i haven't any solutions for this ****ty bug
Finally I've manually created reminders in the calendar...
I have all the birthday in the Outlook (like meeting)
and all ok after sync the Phone with the Outlook (to outlook exchange server at work via the Internet)
Just open the Outlook and add new Item in the Calender , cycle it evey year as u add the item (Press on the Recurrence button), that all ...
I have added birthdays to my contacts in outlook. Is there away to make those show up on the today screen? its kinda odd the calender is only for meetings or perhaps i am missing something here.
I assume i could add birthdays by hand in outlook but that kinda defeats the idea when you can have it all in the contact info.
Regards
I use Birthdays 1.2.10, so I don't need to touch the calendar.
http://pda.jasnapaka.com/birthdays/
I know Birthdays 1.2.10 but this programm don't work with manila3d
becaus all today pugins don't work with manila3d
The funniest thing
In also seem to have a birthday related problem.
I bought my diamond several months ago and synced it with my compu (outlook 2007). I just yet noticed it didn't sync all my birthday info. (The info is in he contacts, the birthdays just aren't coming up in my calender, neither on my compu nor on my phone ).
Is there a way to 'update' the calender in such way all birthdays come back to my calender?
Thanks in advance!
Hi all,
If you enter the birthday in outlook contacts, normally a all day event will be created in outlook. please check if this is ok. finally i have turn off the reminders for this events, because the alarm will go on at 11.45 pm by default. This all day events appears on my home sreen in TF3D.

maybe U can to use a software like mToday and to have 2 Today profiles ... one with manila and other with regular WinMo plugins
http://mobile-sg.com/software/?p=mToday&platform=ppc
I think you need to synchronise it with outlook on your pc for it to take effect. Outlook on the phone isn't smart enough to figure it out by itself apparently, but I've just synched it with my pc, it's showing up in the calendar in outlook and in the calendar on the phone.
Is it possible that there is no any simple WM application to check contacts evey day for birthdays.
Pocket PC should be smarter than some "smartphones"
I've noticed a problem when syncing my Tilt that may be a windows mobile problem. For recurring events with a really old start start date (ie George Washington's Birthday of 2/22/1732) activesync will display a notice that attention is required. When clicking that link this message is displayed:
The following appointments failed to synchronize from the desktop:
1. Subject: George Washinton's Birthday
Time: 2/22/32 12:00 AM
Duration: 1440 minutes
Support Code:1

If you change the year to 1932 instead, it'll sync just fine without errors. Does anyone know what the oldest syncable start date is, or how to get around the limitation?
Thanks,
Roger
Outlook Oldest Allowed Recurrence Start Date?
I really need a solution for this too. I have a recurrence dating back to 2003 that has suddenly stopped syncing to my Tilt (Windows Mobile 6.1). It used to be there, on my Tilt Outlook calendar, but now all traces of it are gone.
The recurrence is still in my PC Outlook calendar. I've tried everything...changing it slightly and resyncing...
I use the calendar not just as a planner, but as a sort of journal, so it is important to me to resolve this.
Is there some sort of registry fix for eliminating the apparent limitation for how far back a start date can be for a recurring appointment?
Thank you and best regards, Barbara
When I open calender and switch to month view, I try to select a future date for which I have nothing scheduled and instead of going to the day I selected, it goes to the last day have something scheduled. Does that make sense? Anyone else find this annoying ?
Yep - happens here also
I work night shifts and want to figure out how to get the times to show up on the lock screen instead of Wednesday - Thursday as I don't work the same times everytime.... :/
Doesn't happen to me - when i press future date from month view calendar, it goes to the future day i selected.
Calendar option: Windows live is ON
phone name and model: HTC HD7 T9292
OS Version: 7.07004.0
FW Rev#: 2250.09.12302.728
Same as BlueGreenWhite, doesn't happen on mine. When i select a future date from Month view, it opens up that date.
It depends whether you are in a day or agenda view (before accessing the month view). If you are in a day view it'll go to the selected day, if you are in agenda view it'll go to the next day with appointment which makes sense as days without appointments aren't displayed in agenda view.
There you go, Mystery solved
Thanks, makes complete sense
Calendar working good.
I sync with Gmail Contact and Calendar. Everything works fine except that the Birthdays recorded into Contact cannot be show/sync on HD7 calendar.
Thanks for the tip, it does now make sense!
Another problem I have just found, after one month has passed calendar appointments disappear from handset calendar (not reoccuring ones) but remain OK on Windows Live Calendar on PC/in Outlook. This is a problem for me as I like to keep all my past appointments with me on the handset.
Does anyone else have the same problem?

I wouldn't call that a problem. Why is it so important to have past appt's on your calendar?
Past appointments are important to keep on the handset as sometimes I need to refer back to certain dates in meetings.
Past Calendar is IMPORTANT

Yes. Agreed. Past calendar is very important when you need to trace back your appointment.
I do have the same problem, I think something wrong with the Sync . . .
Under Windows Live (Primary), the setting only allow to check/uncheck the Mail.
Under Gmail, the setting allow to check/uncheck the Mail, Contact & Calendar.
Sometimes can sync and sometimes can't. Waiting for the FIX from Microsoft.
Yes, I am hoping this will be fixed by Microsoft in the next update. Will be most dissappointed if it is not.
