Office Mobile Notes - Names - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

Hi
After changing rom to Ruu_Signed_Duttys_WM6.1_Hybrid_1.64.08.21 [RTM] all new notes are named with the date. How to change that so they were named with firs letters of the contet, how it used to be.
thx!
EDIT:
Problem solved. you need to change short date format in the registry.

Strange (null) In Kaiser HTC Homeplug

Hi all
I installed the HTC Home plug Based on the Kaiser one. With the Weather Patch
But now I have a strange problem. In the Weather Tab it says (null) instead of High or Low.
Same go's for the Ringtone.
Well the problem is: When I reload the Plug it works. But when I reboot my device it show op (Null) again until I reload the Plugin.
Does anyone know this problem???
Thanks in advance.
Same problem, haven't found a real fix yet but I got a workaround you can try.
After every reset of the device follow these steps.
- Disable HTC Home from the today screen.
- Open HTC Home Customizer
- Change some minor detail (usually selected weather city for me)
- Save
- Go back to today screen and HTC home is there with all language files working magically.
It's a bit of a pain in the ass but I haven't found a better solution just yet. Hopefully someone else can answer this for us but in the meantime you can use my cheap method to make it look right.
You have to rename:
windows\HTCHome.dll.0409.mui
windows\HTC_HDlg.exe.0409.mui
windows\HH_0409_WeatherCities.xml
to your locale variable (if your rom isn't wwe), in my case it's spanish (0C0A):
windows\HTCHome.dll.0C0A.mui
windows\HTC_HDlg.exe.0C0A.mui
windows\HH_0C0A_WeatherCities.xml
It worked for me.
There's another way to do it, harder but way better, i usually do this with my own cabs because after a hard reset i don't like having to change everything again. Steps:
1- Decompress the cab with winrar
2- Edit the file "setup.xml" and correct things you want to change about installation setup: name of files to install (like in this case), name of registry variables to write (like in 10-button commanager for wing), etc
3- Find and download "Cabpack 1.4", be sure to use the following options for it to work: "compression type = mszip", "Create cabinets for = 16 bit extractor"
4- Use it for re-compressing your modified cab and install.
5- Voilá... great pre-modified cabs that you can keep for the next hard-reset.
Hope you like it. Regards

Hello and thanks for this help !
But it doesn't work for me. Maybe you can help me ?
I have the same problem with "null:null"
But the files are already named with my locale variable. (I'm not sure)
windows\HTCHome.dll.040C.mui
windows\HTC_HDlg.exe.040C.mui
windows\HH_040C_WeatherCities.xml
The language of my Windows Mobile 6 is in french. But i want to display weather of "Lausanne" in Switzerland (100C)
You say : if your rom isn't wwe --> How can i see if my rom is wwe ?
Thanks a lot for your answers

Changing the photo filename sequence?

Hello
Just a quick question... I recently re-flashed my Kaiser with a new ROM which, of course, reset the photos' filenames (IMAG_001, 002 etc.). I automatically have my photos uploaded to a webdir so continuing the naming convention is quite important.
My question is, is there a way to have my devide name files, in sequence as usual, but starting from a specified number (e.g. IMAG200)?
Many thanks
Colin

Not that I see.
After a flash mine usually starts numbering from the last picture in the folder. For example I took 35 pictures the Last one being named IMG032.jpg. I flashed a new ROM. Clicked a New picture and it was named magically IMG033.jpg.
Hi, thanks for the reply. My friend suggested that to me but for me it didn't work; images are named from 001 onwards again.
If there are any other ideas out there I'd be most grateful to hear them.

[GUIDE] Translate a ROM into german and maybe any other language (experimental)

Hi folks.
At first i have to say, that this is a somehow unclean and tricky solution, but it works somehow and maybe it can be improved.. There are some threads on this forum, which deal with that, but i'm going to describe, what i did, to get it working.
You need:
- The new Touch IT 2.1-ROM (don't know yet, if it works with other ROMs - think only if it's the same build)
- A backup from a german ROM (mine was made by SPB-backup from the cmEX-image, also don't know if other ROMs/backup tools work)
- The language files from here (German.rar)
- A registry editor (I used PHM regedit)
First i took all the mui-files out, by using the Windows search and copying them into another folder, then i transferred them via ActiveSync into the \Windows folder.
Then I put a link to the registry tool and to the explorer and PHM regedit in the TF3D programs panel (you'll need that, because after changing the registry to use german language your start menu will be screwed up for some reason and you can't access any program anymore).
Now you have to change two registry values and optionally set your region in the regional settings:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\MUI]
"SysLang"="1031" (for german)
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\MUI]
"CurLang"="1031"
-> It's time to do a soft-reset and you'll notice, that the pin-dialogs and so on are in german.
Go to the TF3D programs panel (as i said: Start menu will be screwed up - there are links for programs and settings, but they won't work) and start explorer to execute your backup.
After that your ROM should be fully german.
This is probably not a very good solution and it's kind of buggy, but it is a start..
I couldn't get it until know, how to cook the language files into a ROM (tried it with extracting the new Touch IT 2.1 and inserting the files from German.rar, but ended up with the device starting up and showing a black screen all the time).
If somebody could help me out with that, i would, if i am allowed, make a german version of the Touch IT 2.1 ROM.
Any additions or corrections appreciated!!

Forces Opera 9.5 build 15233 to save cache to main memory??

A strange thing is happening to me...!!! i've installed the Opera version described above on my diamond and despite the right entry in the file opera.ini
Cache Directory4=\Internal Storage\Operacache
...the cache files are saved on the internal memory in a folder named Storage Card
WHERE SHOULD I PROOF TO IMPROVE THAT ISSUE??
thx in advance
i can not believe it, i'm the only one with that issue?
what exactly is the advantage of the omnia opera compared to the one for the diamond?
huh? oops?!!
well..... i will uninstall that version, i don't find where is the issue coming from...!
maybe it's because the omnia doesn't have the same storage structure as the diamond...?
dunno, but I would try changing the path in the registry.

Hi jodeltje, i've search the entire registry and there's not entry to do this kind of changes, only in the file opera.ini but i did it and does not work, do you have the same problem as me..??
no sorry, I was just wondering why you used that version of opera...
because is a faster a responsive version, and support all the plug-ins flash, and wmp..!! the others work buggy and slow, which one are you using?
uhmm 2392, but I was thinking about 15233.
can I get it to open through the link in touchflo? and can I use the capacative part to zoom with 15233?

Yes you can get it, at my Diamond happens automatically after the installation. The zoom function works too, but others like we are usual from Opera for Diamond, take a look:

eventualy you have the "\" set to the end... my string looks like that:
Cache Directory4=\Interner Speicher\operacache\
(for GER-Roms take "Interner Speicher" for WWE "Internal Storage"...)
i use Opera 9.5 15233, too - and it works great...
under this link you can get my opera config
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=470245
open opera and navigate to opera:config. go down to users settings and change the cache location from this location not the regestry.
you can tell it to store it anywhere you want. depending what you SD card is called (Internal Storage, Storage Card) just type in \Storage Card\opera cache or what ever you want. make sure you save the settings before you exit. opera will create the directory for you the next time it tries to cache pages.

Hi jlavoie THX too for your support, i don't have the possibility to do those changes under the settings menu from Opera, i only can fix the cache size in under advance.
not thoes settings.
type opera:config in the address bar. all opera builds have this option.
after in the preferences editor, it is tward the bottom of the list(2nd from last). click on User Prefs and in it is the 12th setting = Cache Directory4
when you put oper:config in the address bar make sure the http:// is gone so the only thing in the bar is opera:config.
after you make the change continue down the list to the end and click save. you must also exit opera and restart it for the change to take effect.
it's amazing, thanks a lot jlavoie can you believe I didn't knew that prompt in Opera? I have solve the problem without troubles using your recommendation.....!!!

greek or symbol system font

I've searched for this topic but came up empty.
Some system files, Align Screen for example, comes up with Greek letters in the title but English instructions. I have run Kaiser Tweak and Advanced Config at different times, but I don't see any utility to change the system font.
Any ideas?

This is a wery weak post, you dont include any needed information as ROM, phone, installed apps and so on. To try answer this blindly you can goto my cab corner and grab one of the font cabs I made and see if that solves it for you.
