Is there a way to connect to phone via bluetooth? - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

And by that not meaning tethering or active syncing. I don't want to sync my phone. I just want to transfer a file (58mb) from my laptop to my HTC Tilt's storage card via bluetooth. Normally I use the USB cable and the phone will be detected and I can see it in Windows Explorer. Then I click on it like a drive and paste the file.

you don't have to actually "sync" it. You can disable all syncing and just use the file explorer. Or you can enable the ftp folder on your phone(under bluetooth settings). After which you can go to your bluetooth explorer on your PC then go file sharing or ftp etc. Your particular computer may be differnt than mine.

Using tilt as a (wireless card)

Ok, sounds stupid but here is what i want to do, connect the tilt to a computer via usb and use the tilt witch is using the signal from my wifi router to enable the computer with internet.
And as always i really appreciate the help and info xda provides.
Hummm... I would recommend you look in your manual for info about Tethering (connecting phone via USB to a laptop). You have to pay for tethering (over the air) but i dont know if you have to pay (or if its even possible) to tether using WiFi.
What you want to do is find the program shortcut in ythe \Windows folder called Internet Sharing.lnk.
Copy it & paste it to your program directory located \Windows\Start Menu\Programs, paste the shortcut there.
Launch the Int Share program, hook up to pc via usb, select usb as connection type & MediaNet as the connect to. Press connect & activesync will drop out & you will be connected. You're all done.

Accessing shared bluetooth folder on PC

I am trying to access the folder that I shared in the bluetooth options on my laptop via bluetooth. I have vista, on the Tilt, i checked the FTP option and on the PC, I pointed to the directory that I want to be visible with bluetooth devices.
I cannot seem to connect to it or find any info regarding the matter...
Is this even possible?
I simply want to share my "My Music" folder so that I can see it on the tilt while connected via bluetooth and transfer music to my tilt via blutooth without having to use my PC via the drag and drop method.
Thanks

USB Connection Loss during file transfers

Whenever i try and transfer certain files i suddenly lose my connection.
I am using Windows Mobile Device Center and the file transfer part.
Strange thing is i will be able to transfer a 14mb file with no issues then a 6mb that kicks me and disconnects my device from my PC.
anyone know how to fix this or why it happens?
Tilt Phone
Vista Ultimate
Also is there a good FTP program that will allow me to download songs from my FTP server to my phone?

Not having any luck with Bluetooth and my PC.

This by far one of the toughest phones I've had. I can't use the dock to sync as it only gives it power and local Bluetooth audio.
Ok, I tried connecting to the USB cable directly. Nope, I have tried many time to copy files to the SD card. I can mount it but it will only stay connected for a short time. It's seems as soon as any other application tries to read it the phone dismounts the SD card. I can tell it to mount again but then whatever program I'm using crashes because the SD card has disappeared in the middle of a file transfer. Anyway...
So, now I try Bluetooth to the PC. Nope, the PC and the Nexus One can see each other but if I try to pair from either the PC or the phone they fail to pair. The computer pairs with a keyboard, mouse, HTC Cruise (just did it for the first time and went like clockwork) and a Plantronics head set. The Nexus One has paired with the Plantronics head set. With the HTC Cruise it asks for a pass code on the phone and the PC but the Nexus just fails without asking for anything. I have also set it as discoverable.
Help!
Edit I disconnected and unpaired the Plantronics headset and then was able to pair with the PC. The android Bluetooth implementation seems to be a little buggy. I was then able to re-pair the Plantronics headset.
The is no android desktop "sync" most of your phone data is kept in the cloud by default, so it's much less relevant. If you want to copy data to your sdcard, you install the usb driver, plug in your phone and select "Select to copy files to/from your computer" from the notification area.
However the current drivers seem unreliable in win7, we're not sure if win7 or the drivers are to blame.
As an aside if you install "ES File explorer" from the android marked you can access windows file shares via wifi.
There are _no_ bluetooth profiles for file transfer in default android.
I still think there are a lot of people that like to sync MP3s and pictures to their phone with various apps. When data plans are free and way faster than they are now, maybe I'd say that the really fast free connection to my PC is less relevant.
What is the best way to sync MP3s from the PC? ES File Explorer?

Transfer Files From Mac to ATT Tab

Hey guys, sorry again if this has been asked before,
How do I transfer a file from my Mac to the ATT Tab?
There seems to be no USB option on the Tab and the Tab wont mount on my desktop.
Kies don't support Mac file transfer.
Thanks
I use WiFi File Explorer PRO. Seems to be much faster than USB and it should work on your mac.
or use airdroid.
i forgot how to use usb when i used airdroid.
Honeycomb, on this tablet, doesn't use USB mass storage because there is no SD card. It uses MTP storage. It is functional but has some issues. Just use the USB charging cable from your charger and connect the tablet to the computer. make sure usb debugging is turn off unless you want to attempt to use abd to push the files.
You can get wifi file explorer, a free app that will attempt to connect the tablet to the computer via wifi.
Another option is a file sharing service like dropbox or sugarsync
http://db.tt/1v0BC1VS
these let you upload files to a cloud server. Then install them to any device with internet access. The starting point is 2GB but you can't expand that. If you want to go the route of dropbox, that link will give us both a little extra space
Thanks, I found that WiFi Pro app and it works fine.
I also just bought the G-Tab 7.7 so will be returning the 8.9 anyway.
