Favourite People - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

Is there any easy way to remove Favourite People from the Today screen and maybe completely remove it?

Start -> Settings -> Personal -> Today
Choose the HTC HOME TAB and uncheck the favorite people -

are you sure that works? I attempted to do this several times and I still have six tabs afterwards.

It doesn't seems to work, I guess there must be another way to modify it through registry...

HTC Home Customizer has a "Tabs" set of options...

I did this several times, but my co-worker is still in the cube next to me. When will he be removed?

The option is not there on the my TyTN II (Running the original HTC Rom)

Annoying HTC Home bug!

Hi,
For some unknown reason, all entries in the "Favorite People" tab in the HTC Home plugin were gone! Suddenly, when I check my phone, its gone.
They just disappeared.
This was the second time.
And I dont know what it happened.
Did you get this issue also?
Do you know why it happens?
gogol
Yea, I spent an entire day trying to fix it and I did. Here is the fix: go into the registry and delete this entry: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\MASD]"QuickDial"="1_0_xxxxxx_xxxx" I guarantee it will fix your problem. Best of luck, mate.
is this the window in the cube that allows you put pictures of the people?
i noticed after a reboot they disapear, but they come back after you go back into it the 2nd time..
as "dtjunkie07" has pointed out ...
this info is also shown from one of Dutty's ROM thread.

I also have my Favorite People selections removed upon each soft reset (or Today refresh). It's annoying. The tab is visible and usable, but the Favorites do NOT stay.
Any ideas?

Wireless today disappeared

Strange behavior - w/o any reason the wireless today setting disappeared in my "today list of programs"
Usually it lives in the list (second picture) but it's gone.
In addition SPB mobile shell doesn't give me anymore the option to link to ANY program just the limited list shown in the third picture.
Any idea/ what hack to the registry could be applied to get it back?
kaiser tweak-> today screen -> wireless today
if that doesnt work :| idk
there are issues with wm devices having too many today items on the list some simply dont display removing some items by uninstall or editing the reg

THUMBS UP!!
Though I didn't change anything in the tweaks it disappeared but NOW I know how to get it back, though it doesn't appear in the today's list...
What would be the regedit hack couldn't find an entry "today" ...
Thanks YOU ROCK
What does the wireless today display?
For me:
a.) The quickest jump to the comm mgr
b.) Shows status of all connections and BT
It's more or less a personal preference like almost everything with a device.
You can either do it as in the first pic displayed directly or one tap away (pic 2 and 3)
I do not like scrollbars on my Today screen so I rather opt. for one tap to get the info/options I want.
Sorry for the blast of pictures but that explains it perhaps best.

HTC Home question

I've used a few roms that had a few different htc home setups. My question is, I can't seem to find the Favorite People tab in the htc home customizer. How do I get that tab? Do I need a different version of HTC Home? If HTC home came bundled with a rom, is there a way to update it? Also, how do I find out what version of HTC home I have?
I'm not sure what you have as standard, but this thread will show you how to tweak the registry to change what shows up.
Hope it helps - good luck

That was very in depth. Unfortunately, I went to regedit the portion of the HTC Home registry that corresponded with the number of tabs and the order but my registry is already edited to 1,2,3,4,5,6. So my HTC Home should be showing 6 tabs but it is only showing 5. I've used HTC Home customizer and it is showing all but the Favorites tab. No matter what tab I remove I still dont have the Favorites tab.
Can only suggest you unselect the HTC Home in the today menu, go to the registry, remove number 2. Soft reset. Back to the registry, add in 2 again. Soft reset. Select from the today menu.
If that doesnt override the customizer then you'll have to post in the ROM thread or a Customizer thread.
Best I can suggest - good luck
Backup your complete phone on your desktop/laptop and do a hard reset.
Before you install all your programs, install the HTC customizer/Home FIRST.
My Wife and I each had this problem. Apparently one of the programs interfered with the HTC Home install and we didn't have the favorite people either. If you install it FIRST; your people tab will be there.
this happened to me yesterday, this is the answer
To get the favorite people tab back, delete this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/OEM/MASD/QuickDial
then soft reset..

[HOW TO] How to revert back to old start menu?

Hi All
I've been looking here for the last hour and serching the registry keys that need to be edited but I can't seem to find them! Can someone please help me?
Maybe this will help??

To enable "old" LargeMenu (Disable new manila start menu):
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\EnlargeMenu\Enable ManilaStartMenu =dword:00000000
To show favorites programs page on manila:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Manila\Manila://programs.page.hidden =dword:00000000
This will revert new Manila with old Start Menu.....
This was taken from Hellonasty rom thread.
Next time do a better search.

I'm trying to map the Touch HD "Back" key to open the HTC new Start Menu by using AE Button Plus.
I succeded in remapping the "Back" key (it didn't use to work in previous versions) but i don't know what action to map it to.
Does anybody know what the action is to call the new HTC New Start Menu?
Thanks !
This is for Classic stat menu and tab programs

If you stick with the new start menu and use the following cab to turn the long list of apps into a row of 4, I'm sure you'll find that the new start menu is actually better. Well it is in my opinion. Just stick with it!!
is there old notification menĂ¼ cab please

Don't need cab. Open Task manager > Click on top right drop down menu > Services > and hold down on Notification Manger(NTFO and set to manual instead of automatic. Soft reset phone. You should now have old notifications. To revert back, follow same process and set to automatic

You can do all of the above. Click on start menu > Setting > All settings and you are presented with original settings page
As easy as that!!
Reverting to new start menu???
Could someone please help me? Ive used the cab to change to old start menu but I dont like it. I would like to go back to the new one, but changing the registry values seem to only screw up things as my start software and hardware buttons dont work at all!!!

TouchFlo 3D Removal Help

I am having issue with my X1 at the moment and I think it could be to do with TouchFlo.
On a regular basis my phone just scrolls through all the tabs and I can't do anything about it other than to remove the battery.
How do you completely remove TouchFlo so I can do a trial and see if it works with just the normal software?
Cheers
i'm guessing it's probably cooked in so completely removing it would be out of the question. Try disabling it instead - settings, today, items - uncheck TouchFLO3D
How'd you get TF in the first place? By a ROM or by a cab?
To do a "Trial", go to settings > personal > today > items then uncheck touchflo 3d

Via cab..... That does remove it, but just wish I could sort the issue of scrolling out as I love TouchFlo..
It worked to disable it however, didn't stop the damn scrolling issue...
