Hi,
I have JF 1.51 and its been running pretty well for a long time now. untill today when I was on the phone and it suddenly semi--rebooted, what I mean by that is it didnt go all the way back to the T-Mobile G1 screen, but only to the android screen and it doesnt stay their for a long time only for a couple of seconds and then the phone is operational again !! it only takes about 10-15 sec. from Android screen to fully operational with a network signal !
Happened three times already, and I havent installed any new apps that could have made this !
My only guess is overheating? I checked the bat. temp. the first time and it was around 42 C so i thought it could have overheated since I was charging and talking at the same time. But then the second time I was at 32 C when it started rebooting, but it was also charging.
So Any ideas ?

Sounds like a Kernal oops. Wipe and re-flash, you should be fine.
Ouch!! Cummon man.....their gotta be something else I can do besides a wipe!!
I just wiped and reflashed about a week ago because my SD got corrupted, and doing it all over again now......is really a pain in the ass
format your sd card then wipe and reflash. It should not corrupt your sd card. I suggest flashing the cyanogen recovery image 1.3.1 because it will make your life 10x simpler...
Good luck

Thanx again, and yea im trying with the Cyanogen image.
my GFs G1 is rooted and running an eclair rom.... and has been running a few others but a strange problem is going on with it....
it constantly completley loses service then wont get it back unless u reboot the fone about 5 minutes later
and it frequentley says NO SIM CARD
im like wtf... i rooted it and upgraded but made sure i read everything painstakingly time after time, it was hard because im a TP2 user but im sure i di it all correct
so with that said any input? i even tried 2 other sim cards in the fone and it still has the same problem...
not sure if it means anything but the fone has no water damage.. im so confused

sounds hardware related.
after doing a little rerading.
I found a link about flashing roms and another about a 3 button download mode.. and that you should check that this mode works... before you even try to flash so after reading it I tried it out...
yes my unit showed the correct screen but thats a far as the topic went..
and thats exactly where my phone sat for quite a while, after about 5 minutes of this screen being on my hone it progressing I figured that since there was nothing for it to download that it would exit out after a few more minutes and not exiting I decided to remove the battery as nothing else seemed to work....
yes I did read do not turn off unit.. however I was not downloading anything as the sim was removed and the wifi was turned off on my router.. so I could not see that this would cause harm..
however now my phone is in a boot loop...
I pulled the batery for another 10 minutes and replaced still the same... can sombody please help me..
I have searched and found nothing....
Well I fixed my issue.. I went intothe recovery mode adn selected reboot system.. the top option.. and all is good.. I would have thought that removing the battery and restarting the system wouldhave been the same but it seems that the system must read stored info. on reboot..
Yay all good I feel I learned something...

can you get into download?
go to where ?
the only thing i get is
1 black screen Galaxy S and under it Samsung
2 Then one big S with some colors on it and under it GalaxyS (the loading Page ) it loads around 30 sec
3 then just go to black screen and vibrates from time to time
My sensor buttons are working i think because when i press them they light them self but they are not doing anything ..
I can just stay in that black screen :S
EDIT: oo and when it's turned off and put it into usb it goes like it should .. Black screen one battery in the center and several dots under the battery

Good news then its not bricked The best bet would be to flash your stock rom with odin though you will lose data contacts etc. You could also try recovery mode vol up home power to factory reset.

To be honest id be more worried about getting your phone working first.
You really need to do a clean install losing data but atleast phone will work

does pc reconize phone? if not then no.
well idk . In Kies it loads for really long time and after that it says that the sd card is empty 0mb/0mb but my sd card is 8gb . The computer cant recognize it in the My computer . I thinkg that my be because before everything breaks the phone was in debugging mode . Other thing i have PDAnet and when i connect it to the USB PDAnet finds the phone and says to connect or something like that. So i think that it can be recognized

if it reconizes internal sd then copy every thing you need if it doesnt then you gunna lose it im afraid.
if the phone is in the debugging mode will i able to see the sd card in the my computer ?
You will lose all system data (applications, contacts, sms), but all your stuff like music that you copied over onto the sd card will stay intact.
To my knowledge there isn't any easy way to backup the system data, unfortunately :/
Hi,
I dropped my S1 in water(s*** happpens) and now its stucked in a bootloop.
It just bootes the samsung logo then it reboots.
(And I havent put it in rice ....) But i opened it up and there was no sign of waterdamage.
Its rooted with and cynongen is installed.
I cant get into native recovery mod but i can get to download mod for 2 sec then it reboots again.
I tried to connect it to windows but windows wont show it....
Then i tried to enter download while connected to windows and it showed the phone for to sec but then it reboots again.
i have looke up all diffrent kind of guids but they all require recovery mod...
I have a 4gb sd card lying around , to format it and flash somthin from there thats the thing i havent tried....
thats it if you need more informations tell me ...
Probably the hardware got damaged. I don't have any idea on how to fix.
Remove the battery and leave it several days on dry, warm place, then try again.

like i said if the hardware would be damaged it woudnt turn on....
You think the internal storage is damaged ? what ware the signs for that...
I would remove the battery and give it a week of time, it can not do any harm and could just help. If there is a drop of water on wrong place it could totally screw the device now. Unpatience is wrong fellow now. Aftet some drying time, it might work normal again.
