Ok, I'm confused. The app is called "long press end key", but it has nothing to do with the end key, but rather the right softkey?

Very strang name for a program that dosen't do what the name says. Nice application, but on my Tytn II it dosen't want to use the RED END key, instead it uses the right soft key.

Does anyone know how to map the HTC end key program to the end key?
UPDATE:
the regedits HKCU\ControlPanel\Keybd\LongEndFunction enables or disables the longendkey function.
When I set it to 1 it enables the function, however it only does a devicelock. Right now I'm trying to find a regedit that will set the function to open up the ENDKEY app. If we had the registry from the Touch Dual this would be easy to find.

anyone knows how to remove some positions? eg. new mms? or how to switch positions? i tried to work with registry, but it switch everytime back and it is also not possible to delete the registry..

AFAIK you can not.

hmm.. i am able to remove text close to the icon - like new sms, mms, ..., i can move each "new menu" on different position (there is x,y position in registry). then i am sure, there is some solution, how to eliminate some of items in "new menu"

What do you mean mapped to messaging button?
Do you mean the letter icon on the keypad next to the windows key.
How did you do that if so?

Just select HTC Action Screen from the buttons app in settings....

1- its not assigned to right soft key. I have to start it from Programs menu.
2- When opened, if you dont do anything for 3 seconds it exits the application. Im not sure if this is an error or a cool feature.

It does nothing! you control the app. if you choose an action it will happen.
if not, the app exits...

you can close it quicker by pressing OK button.. anyway, it has automatic close function

nevertheless you can easily localize it by going to HKLM\Software\HTC\Biotouch\ActionScreen
and modifying the "Name" value under each APP_x subkey.
soft-reset, then it's done.
the only non-working stuff is the message on top of the screen (see screenshot on page 1 of the thread) wich must be contained in the .mui file.

Before I install this tonight, can I have 1 quick confirmation please?
When this software assigns itself to the "right soft key", is this the ACTUAL Messaging Key? Or does it override the default Calendar Softkey?

It would be cool if we could assign it to the actual Messaging button on the d-pad as we already have a tab on the home screen to access our messages.

Remapping PTT Button?!

I've searched all over and found programs that will remap the volume up and down keys, but haven't yet found anything about that damned Push To Talk button. Every time I accidentally push it I get something popping up asking me to enable PTT ($9.99/mo on AT&T) and I'm tired of it. Even if I could just kill its functionality without remapping it, that's fine with me. Any ideas?

Ugh, I find it hard to believe nobody's done this. I downloaded a program (AEBPlus or something) and used it do disable every hard button it could find, but the PTT button is still active. Lame.

The HTC touch diamond has no PTT button ...

Seriously, I don't have such a button and I suspect many (most?) others don't either hence the lack of responses to this thread... I guess you've got a slightly different version?

Haha well I have a Raphael but I assumed it'd still be there... Damn.
Not enough people have a Raphael to have attempted mapping this, what's why I asked in the Diamond forum. Oh well.

You do realise you've probably just sent a whole bunch of Diamond owners checking the sides of their phones and questioning their own sanity 'cos they were sure they'd never seen an extra button there before...?!

Well, it might be all Raphaels or it might only be the US version, I don't have a camera on front either.
I don't use push to talk, I don't want push to talk, but I guess it's good having an extra button to be used for something else... If only I can figure out how to use it.

I want to assign a button to open the above Volume applet. How do I access it? I looked under "Buttons" and scrolled through the list of "Assign a Program" listings, but couldn't find anything resembling the Volume application.
I know there are some other ring/vibrate applications. I've heard that some of them don't work so well on an AT&T Tilt with wm6.0. Anyway, I'd just like to access this volume option with a button press.

You might want to check out SetVolume. I have it set to the PTT button on my WM6.1 Tilt, and it works perfectly every time. The best part is, it works with the system volume, so whatever changes you make with SetVolume are reflected in the system volume tab, and vice versa. I guess in a round about way it's exactly what you wanted.

Thanks, that does look like a good solution, but I really want to activate the original Voice application that comes with the AT&T Tilt with wm6.0. I want to press a button and have the Volume app open up.
A friend has a 8125 and he can open the Volume applet by moving a slider down on the outside of the case. I looked in Settings -> Buttons on his 8125 and he has a link to Comm Manager, but the sliding button on the phone does not seem to be there. There are no buttons with an app like Voice associated with them.
I'd like to hunt down the .exe file for the Voice applet and write a .lnk file to start it up, but I can't find it. I'm also having trouble getting the file extensions to show up in the wm6.0 File Explorer. I can get all files to show by clicking on the "Show All Files" menu item, but I can't figure out how to get the file extensions to show up. Some files are easy to tell by their icon, I'd be surprised if you couldn't get the extensions to show up somehow.

I'm assuming you have a Tilt, correct? I may be misunderstanding you, but you want to be able to control the volume via a hardware button?
I'm asking because that's what I meant by setvolume. I activate it via my ptt button, and I can them use my scroll wheel to change either system volume or call volume.

Yes, I have an AT&T Tilt with wm6.0.
I want to be able to control the volume with the volume control that's already on the phone. See the image in post #1 of this thread. I want to press a button on the phone and have the volume control in the image I posted in message #1 of this thread pop up.

It's a little executable that does exactly what wanted. There's no install... just unzip WisVol.exe, then use ActiveSync to Explore, and copy WisVol.exe your Tilt (I put it in a folder where I keep such utility programs: \Program Files\Utils\ ). Then you can make a shortcut to wherever you put the .exe. Run it, and it opens the volume controls, just like you wanted! It's a useful little app... thanks to whoever wrote it!

Thanks for the tip.
I tried this and it works, sometimes. I have my PTT button programmed to use this program, but it doesn't always pop up... sometimes it just flashes, but doesn't stay on top of the screen.
Does it work correctly for you?

Wonderful little program. now I have to ask is there a way to pop open the manilla2D style volume changer? I have used SetVolume, but i prefer the built in volume changer. Thanks!

with the hidden softreset button and the need to pull off the back so slippy ;-) , i tried an old soft that i was using with my kaiser:

so the VGA black spider skin i chose

I don't get this. If the phone is in such a state that you need to access the reset button at the back, then surely you're not going to be able to reset the device using software since you won't be able to get at that software. And if the software's working well enough that you can run a program, then why not just hold down the power button for a few seconds and switch it off and then on again that way?

Hi Andy,
sometimes windows you know ;-) , needs a reboot, it's not frozen but, one application is working wrong, perhaps the memory is eaten and not given back
i encountered many times worries with my gps(cold start) on my kaiser and that helped, i have not enough recoil to know if it will be so needed with topaz.
nb: there's also an autoshut off, suspend, timer
i must confess also while driving but hush

I manily need to soft reset the phone after installations (like .net CF 3.5) and don't like the idea to remove tha back cover every time (since it will get loose).

When i installed HD Tweak, it installed even HD Soft Reset.
And it works to reset our Diamond2

Why on Earth would you want to install and use an application to do a soft-reset?
Holding down the power button, switching off the phone that way, then touching the power button to turn the phone back on, does the same thing as a soft reset anyway.

apparently a soft reset isnt the same as turning ur fone on an off, i just dont want to constantly take the back cover on and off.

Sorry i cant remember, just remember reading it in a thread on here once, which is why i started soft resetting instead of just turning my phone on and off.
May be one of the senior members could clear this up?!

just saving the on/off button's life(you have to press it twice), i have received my diamond since 4 days
and i had already softreset at least 20 times for soft install which requires a reboot and several times for example device.exe, shell.exe crashing or touchflo worries.
so i dont like removing the back too often when i could it do by software.And after all if you have no use of it dont install it ;-)
