install the zoomboard v.2.00 then when you have at least 4 DAYS LEFT, uninstall/ update to v. 2.01. when you have four days left, and it has been more than 7 days/expired the previous zoomboard has been uninstalled, again, replace 2.01 with 2.00 then youll have 0 days of trial . im assuming(cuz i actually hard reset my pda cuz i felt like it) that this is unlimmited. pm me if this is true. if you cant find a v. 2.00, ill post it. just message me.
tell me if this actually worked or msg me. im actually doing it as we speak.
i think this goes the same for the rest of the vito products.
also message me if it did work.
so whats the point of this?//
showing us how to hack the program and not pay for it?
if it is...then its not allowed
i discovered this by accident. dont know if it works tho.
hey. theres the pain of reinstaliing it and shutting it down. i WOULD PAY to get that pain out
and this is trial mode which can be extended. you probably have to pay for more features
they made this trial free but still left a glitch here. I am happy that someone might inform Vito about this and make their trial versions more "secure"

uhh im not rich.
and i dont guarantee it wont work tho you tell me before anything happens.again, just some really weird thing that i just discovered. itll probably have some weird effect on the phone or something and dont ask what it may be.
well just wanted to share what i have accidentally discovered. if you dont like it then fine with me. Im cool with me just having this unlimited paid service which i got by accident, and not sharing it with others if thats the rulez.
ive got more important issues such as this:
Ive copyndpasted the storage card folder into the start menu and dissapeard. i wonder why. can someone post a link on how to "fix" this so that i could access the storage card directly from the start menu?

for some reason i have been getting a prompt about every few hours that says
"BatteryStatus Today-Plugin"
"this is shareware and you can use it "as is" and as long as you want!
thank you for using BatteryStatus Advanced!"
i have Open Touch v3.0 Biggy WM 6.1 that was just flashed last week w/no problems (only this little one).
any one have a solution for this?
thanks
DK
I have the same exact issue, it just started this morning. It used to do it before, too, and it took another flashing to get rid of it. It looks like the cook used an incorrect version of BatteryStatus.
From the BatteryStatus Author's site:
I have a nag-window sometimes. How can i remove that?
A registration system is currently in testing state. If you want a nag-free version (for a while) you need to register at xda-developers and use one of the versions provided there.
:'(
so where does this leave us

alright, its not just me. so what now? i really don't want to flash again. i am already registered here, so how do i get/install an "xda version"?
let me know if you have any ideas.
I just installed the BatteryStatusExt.1.05.UPXed.build_0290.CAB from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=270751
So far it seems like my issue has been fixed. I hope it works for you, too.
I had the pop up since this morning too. I did a soft reset, and since then there hasn't been a prompt yet
thanks for the searching

I followed the thread and it says on the first paragraph that the BatteryStatusExt.1.05.UPXed.build_0290.CAB could damage your device.
this has me skeeved out. i might just give it a day or two, and if it continues, i'll just flash to Open Touch v4.0 Biggy. i just got this phone a month ago and i don't want to kill it yet. thanks for the suggestion

EVERY version of BatteryStatus can hurt your device if you use it incorrectly. For example, overclocking to above 260 is not smart and will shorten the life of your device. It could just freeze up and stop altogether. It's nothing specific to that version, just that overclocking in general is pretty risky stuff if you push it.
i did not know that...

cool, well thanks for that info. i have seen a lot of people clocked at 247 and up, and i tried that, but i swear the back of my phone was getting hot. i switched it over to 234, and it runs just fine for me. i don't think i would be able to tell the difference anyway. great, then i will open that cab up and see what happens. thanks for the info orochidp.

I see there is an update to Photoslide in the market but it's not downloading. It just says "starting to download" and sits there and never actually starts to transfer. Been almost 17 hours now. I've restarted several times... tried using 3G, 2G, wifi, etc...
I've read tons of people complaining about other apps doing this, and they say to remove the app and re-install the updated one --- but I don't even get an "uninstall" option --- just Install
Its doing the same thing for me with HelloIM and SnapPhoto Pro. I hope this isnt something permanent for root users. I'm definately going to need my refund if I can't update the apps that I've paid for.
Honestly, I can't see google doing that. Hell, they were posting the link to xda to let people know how to root their phone. Plus, (I hope) they're not (that) stupid.. if they make it so that rooted phones cant get apps going the legit route, they're pretty much forcing a pirate scene.
well over 35 hours and I still cant get the updated version of the photoslide app. I've managed to uninstall it and I can't even re-install it now. Of course, I can't find ANYONE to ask about this... I'm a little upset at the moment, really making me scared of shelling money out for anything else in this buggy market.

it must be due to the connection and market stuff
just give it time.
I had to update my credit card information on Google Checkout. I don't think they allow you to change it on the G1, so you have to change your info via PC.
All of a sudden, it downloaded. Took almost 40 hours of trying off and on. Removed the product, switched to 3G to 2G, wifi, let it run for hours, cancelled it for hours, rebooted a bunch of times.. just.. all of a sudden it worked.
Ive been playing around with roms for a while now but i still cant figure out how to get rid of a few things.
1. during activation needing a sim card plugged in (and how to skip the google sign in)
2. the dialer and contacts (i haven't removed them because i dont think alot of programs would work because of the dependencies)
no one?
well most roms these days have the "skip" button and if not that most hero roms have the Wifi option so you can use your own connection to log in your gmail but there is also a way to sign in if you dont have data with a wifi connection if you have one i can provide that for you
and as for your second question i dont understand but as far as i kno everything with contacts on every rom seems to work fine so you should be ok but if not i dont kno how to answer your question
any other questions just ask ill try and help
just to clarify If i remove the dialer, contacts and phone.apk and mms would android (the os itself) run fine? and would programs that need accesses to those things work?
(sorry for all the questions, this is my first from the ground up build i've previously added and removed a few things to a cryogen rom but thats its)
bump :O
Make a nandroid backup and just remove them and see for yourself

haha ive seen worse..like that guy who bumped his thread after less than an hour.
im still sick, i was gone for two days and there were 4 pages of Q&A's X_X
New problem, after making a rom with no phone apk just to see what would happen im greeted with android.core not responding force close and it does it every 5 seconds how could i get around that problem? what file controls programs on start up that i can edit to get rid of the problem or is all hope lost and i need to hang up my belt on the android mid rom?
I have a dead phone I'm toying with. It's not on with the network. This is my first attempt at rooting etc. I would like to just have it as a sort of game/fun/toy phone. I have a G1 from Tmobile that I use and not going to try and root until I get a new one, then perhaps also have that as a game/fun/toy phone. Anyway, I have a Sprint Hero and how I've been getting apps and such on it is by swapping SD cards and doing a back up or connect via wi fi from one of the sites with a list of freeware to download. I want to get rid of the apps that I don't want/need for this phone. I'm not going to use it to call people so I would like that off too if I could. I would like to keep the wi fi though. I am new to this and trying to figure everything out. I just got busybox and rom manager on the phone. So, now what? How do I get those annoying stock apps I don't want/need? I really don't need to change the whole face of it, just those apps to be removed and I'll be happy with it. Thanks
by the way
I forgot the build.
I'm on 2.31.651.7
rooted from one click that I found from the unlockr

ok thanks. it's just so time consuming to be sitting on the computer trying to search and read through so much. I don't sit on my butt all day staring at a screen. I have a baby and any screen time is when he's sleeping. It's just easier to ask and hope for an answer. I'll look through the links later. Thanks.
I also want it as some type of "toy" for him to play with instead of taking MY phone! lol. I have toddler lock on it and he seems to like it. But I don't really want him to have it until he stops "chewing" on it. My G1 case cover is ruined from him. lol. oh well. He likes to play with phones because everyone else does. They start early now. I downloaded all sort of kid games so when that day comes, I can say, here you go when he takes mine!
But I'm lost on figuring out if there is a program I need? Or if the superoneclick has it in the app. I have it on our Windows computer and I'm currently on our Mac. And that computer is so slow and now I have to spend the time to try and clean IT out. Its running Vista and I have a copy of 7 but I don't feel like dealing with all of that. sigh.
Does tethering work with phone to phone? Like connect my non network phone to my G1 for internet like when we go on vacation and my nonsmart phone partner wants to use the net and so do I, that we can share. I'm guessing USB cable would do that? I don't know, there is just so much to read up on for a newbe trying to figure it out. Time for sleep now.

Well, nobody around here sits around on their butts staring at the screen, waiting for people like you to ask questions... so that they can answer. If you think of this as "Customer Service", think again. Everyone here has primary jobs, they do this because they like it and are passionate about it.
Having said that, nobody is saying "No" to answering questions... just try searching and looking up the obvious links, first.
Geeze. sorry. I just thought Maybe someone else maybe already had done it and point me in the right direction. I try searching and can't find anything in what I'm trying to do. So a here, try this and this and such would be nice. Thought I give a bg on what I wanted to do with it. And I'm still new and get lost around here. Tech langauage changes every 6 months along with the phones. I see "flash" and I think of the Adobe program or the flash on a camera. So forgive me. And I guess nevermind.
I agree with the others here. There is a wealth of tutorials available, and when used will achieve your goal of a "toy". However, I will help you out by providing a framework of things you will need to do. Bear in mind you will need to do the searching though. This way you will learn more about the phone, and you will have a better sense of what to do if something doesn't go right, etc.
First, you need to have your phone rooted. Rooting allows you full access over the phone. Most rooting utilities will install "Busybox", a set of binaries that grants you the ability to use special commands. Next, you will want to install a custom Recovery image. There are two mainstream ones available: Amon-RA and ClockworkMod. Either is fine. The recovery image allows you to make backups of your phone, install new ROMs, and reset settings, among other things. After the recovery image is installed, you will want to search for a list of "safe to delete apps".
I hope this helps you somewhat. If you have anymore questions feel free to PM me.
Mike
I just got mine, even flashed the ROM for mine (T Mobile) and this phone freezes almost literally every 5 minutes and programs freeze a lot and won't allow me to open any other programs and I'm just curious if this is common with other people? I cannot use this phone at all for daily use unless I ONLY use it for texting and not open or use any other programs .
why did you flash it? :S
Mine actually works really nicely, and after changing my polling to 30 minutes instead of as items arrive, i get a completely full day of hard use out of mine...why did you flash it?
Moved to General
Well if you flashed anything theres your answer
You can flash HD 7 ??? never knew it lol what did you flash it with...
I do get a bit of lag now and then if i open too many programs, but not that bad
must say MS has done a good job of winmo 7 hope the updates come soon though
What ROM? How did you flash? Where did you buy the device.
This is the FIRST device I am using with MS OS on it, that actually did not freeze on me at all. The WP7 on my HD7 is fluid, fast and stable. Not a single freeze or hangup. Of course if you are talking about loading of apps like Twitter and Facebook, well, they take time to update and thats an App issue. Not th OS issue.
I think there is something seriously wrong with your device or what you have done with it. Better call up the customer care and get a replacement.
Not even one freeze in 8 days
I flashed the official TMOUS ROM that's been posted in these forums, and nah I mean it way freezes like every 5 minutes... guess I'm the only one with the problem then ? Even factory resetting it still freezes then reboots like every 5-10 minutes... man this sucks, and the phone is so fluid though...
I do mean it freezes/reboots A LOT!
Is there any way I can get a replacement even though I bought it off a friend? (practically straight up brand new) Like lie or something to T-Mobile and say I got it off some smaller T-Mobile dealer? The phone is scratchless and scuff free.
Or any suggestions?
Is it possible that it's a hardware issue? I don't think it could be though...?

T-Mobile has a 14 day return policy, and if your friend purchased it on contract (new line, or as a upgrade), then only he can return it as he will be asked for proper ID in order to identify himself as an authorized person the account.
If he bought it outright (full price) and gave you the receipt, you should be able to go back to the same store and return it and get a new.
Either way, I'd say return it and get a new one. And however you flashed it, don't. Its perfect out of the box. Not once has the phone froze on me.
Blah guess I just got bad luck , it seems to freeze 90% of the time whenever I start up the HTC Hub and am in it or go to the main screen. But thanks everyone for your input .
you still haven't answered what rom you flashed.
Also, maybe your friend knew it was defective and hosed you.

he did actually answered on post #9
anyway, does anyone experienced a lockup when using the alarm when the alarm sets off but left alone for a long time? cause i tried using this phone as an alarm but could never wake me up even on full blast volume. so it is left there for hours .. then when i do eventually wake up .. i see the snooze and dismiss buttons up front and when i tried pressing any of the buttons ..the phone doesn't respond.. so i restart the phone and its back to normal.
Ah yeah guess I did get scammed blah. Oh well, **** happens... the one time I did use the alarm it worked for me and woke me up.
But I seriously wonder why it's all super messed up?
Could it be a hardware problem?
Hmm and right when it freezes it automatically enters airplane mode... then stays frozen until I take out the battery.
EDIT: Actually it seems like the HTC Hub makes it freeze 90% of the time and makes other apps not pop up or nothing. Bah! Would like an update (when HTC/Microsoft releases one) fix this problem?
Please, can you tell us, HOW excatly you've flashed a new ROM , because I thought it was actually impossible before someone find a kind of HSPL or something like that for WP7 ????

I flashed mine because of reboot issues too. Mine would reboot and not only that it would hard reset ! After the flash the phone works like a charm. No freezing, no reboots, no hard resets.
Be sure to choose the right one. I don't believe these are upgrades in anyway, just a fresh ROM to install to start from the beginning.
mine hung at the white splash screen / boot screen, so i hard reset (dialled into my memory from HD1 days!) and it was fine. Took the SIM card out later to put into HD1 to write down things to manually move across (cheers MS for no easy option to migrate*), put it back in, frozen again.
Hard reset: still frozen. Doesn't seem like anything i can do - phone seems bricked. Will have to take back - can't find anything on forums. LAME!!!
*option to migrate / set your own ringtones / use swype / send texts, etc, will be available from 2011
OP, have you called htc and reported the problem. It might take them a couple weeks, but they will warranty it for you since you can't take it to t-mobile.
It has to be hardware if it did it before and after flashing.
call htc @ 888-356-2375 (for USA HTC)
If you have an SDCARD in the phone it could be the problem, remove it.
