hi if anyone can help thatll be greatly appreciated. I just bought an att tilt 8925, and well this is what happens. it boots up and goes into windows screen and then as soon as it goes into the main screen it vibrates a whole bunch of times and then just shuts down. can't get it to active sync to reflash because it wont stay on after it goes into the main screen any help would be appreciated!
Where did you buy this Tilt? Did this happen straight out of the box or have you already flashed it?
Search on how to manually get into boot loader and re flash; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=383904
i bought it like that. the phone is in great condition. all features seem to work but i think the guy did a hackjob on the rom so it's not working right and im all new to trying to get it to work.
Since it's new... start with some baseline work.
1. Do a hard reset.
2. Record ROM and radio versions
3. If it comes up... consider loading the ROM of your choice.
I see you're new here so PLEASE read my signature.
Thanks,
Your best bet would be, download the OEM official Tilt ROM, Manually get into boot loader, then flash it. There are also other methods of flashing such as from your Sd card. The previous mentioned link has allot of answers.
okay i just tried entering bootloader but it wont get into the screen. i hold the camera buton and hold the soft reset button at the bottom of th phone but it just boots up normally. anything im doing wrong?

First of all i do not know where to post this. I have had a HTC wizard for over a year now. it has been working fine after cooking up wm6 and installing it for 6 months. today when i restartet the phone pulling the battery out and inserting it, the phone starts up, then the blue screen comes and shows ispl etc, then windows image shows, there it stops. i do not know what to do. It has been a while since i did pocket pc modding now, and i have forgotten all about it.

Maybe something crashed the OS software.
Hope you have a system backup, or at least PIM backup using ActiveSync because what you need now is a hard reset.
Punching the reset hole (next to IR window) while holding CommManager+VoiceDial, then press "Dial" as prompted.
how do i hard reset my dash/s620?
i have tried hard reset
i have hard reset the phone. i do not have any backup in active sync. and i dont think that matters. because my phone does not connect to activesync since it does not start up. and in the three colored boot mode the phone is not detected by active sync. when i hard reset the phone it just came to the same point and freezed
If you didn't touch the ROM for long time, then it is probably a hardware failure...

READ YOUR PHONE MANUAL, and THIS IS NOT DASH FORUM.
hard to believe
First off, thanks for fast responses.
It cant be hardware(Not as a total theory of course) or likely not, because phone was not touched by water, shock, bumb fire or anything. it laid on my desk, worked, laid on my dask more, freezed. and it has been working for 6 months with wm6. is there anyway i can flash something into it. without activesync, but in the three colored boot mode?
Get into bootloader, plug in your usb cord and give it a minute...ON THE TRI-COLORED SCREEN do you see in the bottom corner "USB"??? If yes, you are OK. Get a stock rom such as the Tmo 2.26 and flash that. If you do not see "USB" in the bottom corner then as far as I know, you are fukd.
For more info on issues, read the linky in my siggy. There is valuable info there that may help with other ways to flash a rom.
Good luck.
i see usb
thanks, guess i am not fked then
Only problem is i have forgotten all about this now, and that i am sorry for.
But i have to ask you, as from norway wich stock rom to choose, what is stock rom, and when you say bootloader, is that an expression for the three colored screen or is that a program, that can flash in three colored screen? Thanks, i do not expect an answer on this noob questions, but i would really apreciate answers.
stock rom & bootloader
stock rom is the rom which comes with ur phone while purchasing it.. u can call it base rom..bootloader is tri-coloured screen which is bios for ppc if it gets fked then phone is bricked..next time if u cant boot up, then u can flash ur phone with the help of bootloader...
that was fast
thanks, but i do not think i have the rom that came with my mobile phone:/
and i do not know how to flash from tri colored screen, because all the files i have tried cant detect my phone.
ipl adn spl are 3.08 if that helps anything.
that was fast
is there an app you use to flash from tri colored
there is no need for any app, just connect ur phone to tri-coloured screen..u willl see usb in down left corner.. then ur phone is connected then run RUU utility.. if any problem comes i am online at hotmail... [email protected]
Can you power down? If not, remove battery for 1 seconds, the re-insert. Then press all at once the camera, comm and power buttons (or I believe you can also press the camera and soft reset. It is in the wiki explaining, as are some stock roms. Use any stock rom if you plan on flashing a cooked rom. The Tmo 2.26 is a decent stock rom, there is a 3.08 on the forum somewhere that you can also use. Get a stock rom. Get into the tri-colored bootloader. Look to see if it says usb in the bottom corner. If yes, connect your cable and using the ruu from the stock rom, flash your phone. Once a stock rom is installed follow the directions to cid/sim unlock your phone. Once unlocked, you can flash any cooked rom.
PS- I am assuming you have a G3 phone.
PPS- reading the wiki and the stickies are very helpful. Give them a try.
im sutch a noob
yeh i got same problem... i will try a hard reset but im at school... hope it fixes it... i got imate jasjam... BETTER WORK OR I WILL KILL MY BROTHER 4 STUFFING AROUND WITH MY PHONE
im sutch a noob
gah... it diddent work what do i do now????
I'm not sure why, but my 8925 shuts down after the vibrate and the att screen comes up. It doesn't get to the 3G splash. I tried to enter bootloader, but to no avail. I guess the power isn't on long enough. Is there any other way to get into the bootloader mode so I can try loading a new rom or at least hard spl. I tried a battery from my other tilts and same response. I've tried the hard reset also, but nothing. This is my first post so hopefully its in the right section. I've flashed many roms, etc, but not on this machine (still running att rom) so I know just enough to be dangerous. But this one has me stumped. Its out of warranty, so this is my last hope. Thanks for any ideas you may have!!
please go read this thread and start from there...there are quite a few links that you help you in that thread..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=433835
when you go into that bootloader, make sure the camera button is ALL the way down, and also click that link up there ^
I've been waiting for hours for someone to help me and I searched and searched, I can't find any help!!! I have to go to work soon and I've been on this screen since 7:30AM EST!
Looks like I'm stuck at the boot loader screen and it goes back to it when I do a soft rest. I can't do a hard reset since I can't turn off the phone.
I think it's the bootloader screen.
Says RUUNBH on the top right corner and the screen is red, green, blue and white which these codes or whatever.
Took the battery out for a few and it went right back to that same screen.
Can someone help me bring back my Rhodium to stock???
EDIT: I might of posted this in the wrong section. Should this be in Rhodium General?
*UPDATE*
ark666 found the stock rom for T-Mobile HTC TP2 and I did a flash to get it back! Thank you so much ark666!!!
Flash stock rom.
I have no idea on how to do that, I searched how-to's but I can't find any full instructions or where to get the stock rom for T-Mobile HTC TP2.
This is the worse ever!!! Somebody please!!!
Isn't this the best site for things like this?
Try a manual hard reset? The instructions should be in your manual.
It says while the phone is off to HOLD SEND/END key with the power until the message comes up. The phone wont turn off unless I take out the battery for me to do a hard reset.
EDIT: I took the battery out then put it back in. The phone is now off, I hold the buttons and did the hard reset. It went right back to the boot loader screen.
hi,
what happend after you hard reset the device?
regards,
twisted
Asked me to press the VOL UP button to reboot. I did and it went right back to the boot loader screen. A flash happened on the screen when I try a soft reset and it says really quickly!..."NO IMG FILE" then it goes back to the 4 color screen.
EDIT: Image below on how my screen is since 7:30 AM EST!!!
on some device, active the RUU, connect it to PC & press soft reset button (the one in side the battery cover).
don't know if it help, just try that
good luck
Thanks for the reply, but that was the first thing I tried. Looks like I will have to go to work with no phone! This is crazy on how this can't be resolved.
Looks like you've basically erased the flash I'd say...
If you can get the t-mobile image, then try flashing that back to the device... If you connect a usb cable to your device, at the bottom, where it says serial it'll change to usb...
Or, if you have a goldcard, maybe try installing another image. But I'd say you're best to install the t-mobile image if you can get one?!
Ok so where can I get an image that will work on my phone? I also will need instructions on how to do it properly.

Where are you from? Can you find the rom on your tmobile site?
Or, creat a goldcard, copy the RHODIMG.nbh into the root of the card and try flashing that...?
As far as I know, your device is not bricked, you simply need your original supplier rom...
I replied to the PM (basically do set 16 0 command in mtty)
but I see your photo now - you have 0.85.1000 SPL? that's mfg SPL so if "set 16 0" did not help (you didn't describe what you did to the phone when this happened), you can just take any official rhodium ROM and flash it
sorry if I misread your photo... quite blurry
Ok that's my main problem that I've been having. Where can I get an official Rhodium ROM and how do I do a flash? I've been searching all morning.
And yes 0.85.1000, that's what it says on the screen.
I tried to this ROM...Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=548546
Did the goldcard, but I think I did it wrong. I added the RHODIMG to the SD then tried to update my TP2. That's when I got an error saying it's not for PDA and how I need to update my utility.
I got the steps to do the goldcard correctly, I just want to take another shot at updating this ROM.

see my PM first, maybe set 16 0 will be enough.
is your SPL version really 0.85.1000? how did you get this phone? what happened when it got stuck on bootloader screen?
as for flashing, see xdadev wiki on rhodium.
Ok, will try what you PMed me. Brb!
It says 0.85.1000 on the screen so I guess so and I got it from T-Mobile. Ordered it through Customer Service.
post #15 has been updated to let you know what I was trying to do.

then the set 16 0 will work just fine
weird the rom didn't work though
I have just flashed the 6.5 rom which you flashed
It does change the spl to 0.85 and i have the exact the sameimage which you have shotted during the flash process. But the process of this rom's flashing has two stage, it will restart after first 10% and show up the image which you shotted and upload, and continue afterwards. i guess ur goldcard has the problem so it stops and stucked there. Try other sign roms would be a better solution.
Hello xda, so yet another person took the plunge into flashing a rom. Im not sure what I did that was wrong because the install went perfect, it made it to 100 percent and restarted my phone like it was all well and good, but it wasnt. It just sits there perpetually restarting. Believe me I have been looking unfortunately, I didn't seem to find anything that helped. From the threads I read it sounds like I can just go to the boot loader, plug in my phone, then place a stock rom from alltel on my internal storage and flash that, or maybe I was mistaken with what I read. Either way I can't get that to work I can get to the boot loader and hook it to my computer, and the computer will say something connected, but it doesn't show up as a removable storage device or anything. This is the rom I used http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=553844 this is also the tutorial that I used http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=36062
Please, please give me some help.
me too
Anyone have any ideas? I tried using the HardSPL from here:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35839
and I tried may different ROMs with the same problem... So i don't think it's the ROM.
Thanks in advance!
i was able to 'unbrick' my phone...
1. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35839, get the 0.57 version
2. load the bootloader
3. plug the phone to the computer
4. go to sprint.com and get the Rom from them and just use their exe
now it's back to WM6.1
So i guess the problem is that there's not WM6.5 ROMs for CDMA diamonds yet?

I don't know how offical it is, but I have loaded WM6.5 on my Sprint CDMA Diamond just fine.
Alright thank you that worked, I thought I was going to have a diamond shaped paper weight for a minute. I do believe that there are indeed 6.5 roms for the diamond, but I have no idea why this rom didn't work. Thanks for the help.
so I got mine to work with a wm6.5 rom.
this is what i did:
1. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35839, get the 0.57 version
2. then get this wm6.5 ROM: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=74084
this ROM is awesome!
Hope that works for you too.
You Bricked your Diamond
My Diamond bricked the other day and it wouldn't load or allow me to do a reset on it. I found a way to manually hard reset the device.
Hold the power button, the down volume button, and the enter button(the circled button) at the same time (continue to hold) then press the reset button. countinue holding the three buttons until a white screen comes up telling you to press volume up to reset device to original settings. press the volume up and it will reset. Now set up your device and immediately active sync and put a new Rom on the device

Yes thats pretty important to know when you are messing with roms, also make sure to note the boot loader screen which is reset, back, vol down, and power. That is how I fixed my phone. This tutorial is a nice tutorial to look over. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=36062
www.everythingdiamond.info/ this site has cdma versions theyre pretty good
Yeah I actually got my latest rom from there, thanks for all the help everyone you were a god send
check everythingdiamond.info or ppcgeeks.com . Both of those sites have stickies dealing with this and all the roms you'll find there are for cdma phones.
Currently I am running the Sleuth1.2 ROM in a sick Kaiser. The Kaiser works fine but has the two issues described below (with the work around I use).
I have two issues which are causing me concern if I try to flash
1. If the SIM door is closed when I soft rest the 'Smart Mobility' screen appears for about 3 seconds and then the device shuts down.If I open the SIM door press the power on or reset button then close the SIM door while the 'Smart Mobility' screen is still showing it boots perfectly to the today screen.
2. If while soft reseting and following the workaround above the SDcard in in the device the kaiser boots to the spash screen then powers off.If I remove the SDcard first it boots OK and then I can insert the SDcard and all is well,I have tried 3 different SDcards and they all react the same.
I can backup and restore using SPB backup and the SDCard by using these work arounds so I think I may be able to flash-but I need to assured by someone who knows more than I.
As I say it is sick, but not yet beyond use.
What I am thinking of doing is flashing a new SPL,Radio and ROM (probably
the TPC V11) but I am concerned one or other of theses faults will cause the flash to fail and give me a brick.
Can anyone advise me if I should be able to flash OK using my Windows7 PC and USB (or preferably even the SDcard)
M
many thanks in advance for the advice you offer.
Ashley
Moved as not ROM Development.
If you have any doubt in your device being able to stay alive during the hard-spl flash then don't do it.
Same with flashing a ROM as normally you can recover but then if you don't since you seem to already have problems it's a brick.
Might just be time to check out ebay for a cheap Kaiser
Thanks for the reply,it is much appreciated
What I was wanting to know is whether in the flashing process having to perform the work around with the SIM door will cause a problem. If it will I'll have to stick with Sleuth1.2,but it is not my prefered ROM-I've only flashed once and think it is time for a change.
I know the kaiser is well past its best but I cannot replace it yet.
Ashley
Had to re-read:
Only on a reboot you get this problem.
Ok i'd say it's fine as after you flash and it reboots if the battery is popped it will just start off from beginning again "not that i make a habit of it"
So flash hard-spl it reboots, will get stuck on splash do your tweak get back into OS, flash ROM resets gets stuck do your tweak and all should run fine.
All this is a "should" as i don't have the device in hand to know exactly how this will go.
Thanks,
Now pass me a shot of alcohol to help my courage! and I'll roll the dice.
Best Wishes
Ashley (Canvey Island,Essex,UK)
