hi guys,
i was excited about the new Radio upgrade, so i tried to flash it. i got an error, because my SPL is 2.05. so i tried to unlock the phone using jerpelea's guide, flash to 1.09 -->success, then WWE (1.10) but an error occured saying invalid vendor ID during WWE flash. now i have SPL 1.09 on my phone and my phone is stuck on the 2nd boot screen of jerpelea's WM6.1 beta 4 ROM. my phone is fully unlocked using jerpelea's unlock guide, that's how i got to install SPL 1.09 successfully. how can i recover my phone? please help.
Update 1: i tried to flash back the original dopod 595 WM5 ROM. i mixed the RUU updater from the latest official ROM with the nbh from dopod WM5 ROM. the flashing works. when it's 100%, the phone reboots and, i got back to the same problem. stuck at 2nd/3rd boot screen. i now have IPL-0.90 and SPL 1.09 on my phone. Please help me to recover my phone. i've tried to hard SPL shown in the wiki guide, doesnt work. says invalid vendor ID crap. i really dont know what to do now.
Update 2: when the device boots, it stucks on the 2nd/3rd boot screen and if the USB cable is attached, for a brief moment, windows can detect the phone and i can even browse the content of the phone from my PC. but after that, the device disconnects itself and just remain stuck at the 2nd/3rd boot screen. the device appears to be totally freezed/hang. even the LED charging indicator will not turn off when i unplug the device from computer
i believe what i need to do now is to make a nbh image that is signed to i dont get any corrupted image message when trying to flash. i used HTC ROM editor to mix and match the SPL and IPL file so that i can downgrade the SPL to 2.05 and upgrade it again later. but i dont know how to sign nbh files.
If i were you I'd use this one =)

I think I know what do you mean. My device was in very same state like yours few mnonths ago.
Try to run mtty and the command "info 2" without quotes.
Do not forget to disable USB on activesync settings before running mtty.
You will get an answer which includes the CID of your device.
If not (this was my case), you have to send it to the repair center probably.
My device CID was Qtek_A07 (RUS) and I have tried to instal the first official WWE 1.34 ROM update (combined from SPL.nbh and ROM.nbh) and it replaced only the SPL, and the ROM update crashed.
There was not way out so I sent it to the repair center.
The WWE images are expecting the device with CID Qtek_Z12.

why did you format ?
try to reflash 1.09 spl
and after this wwe one of 1.34 roms to get 1.10 spl

I think that comment was really unnecessary!
As a n00b I know how hard it is to understand what’s happening. I did read the wiki’s and still I didn’t get HOW TO upgrade a ROM until I found a great post in FutureShock’s thread

On the Mteor start the explorer and in the root directory (press UP once) find SSPL.EXE en start it.
If the Mteor won't start the program and there is an error like "insufficient trustlevel".
You need to remove the application lock on your Mteor.
Run SDA_ApplicationUnlock.exe on your PC with Activesync working and then install SP_AllowCertificateInstall.cab on the Mteor.
You will find those two in the .rar in ".\opt Software\Unlock Tools"
Then redo from the start.
Then, Have fun !! (Futureshock & DarkDirk)
P.S. works on a BREE100 with IPL-0.90 and SPL-2.05.

with all the respect what you do for this community, isn't taht you who advice us to update the SPL before trying your images?
in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=384398 you should probably higlight that the update should be done only on WWE devices.

i did try to read as much as i could but apparently i didnt come across that. when i flashed to SPL 1.09, the device booted up just fine. it is when i try to update to WWE 1.10, the update process failed and bricked my phone. for your information, i was following the exact steps described by you in your unlocking/SSPL guide. you mentioned upgrade to SPL 1.09, then WWE 1.10. this is exactly what i did. i dont know what went wrong. im sure if im as knowlegable as you are, i wouldnt have screwed up my phone. my bad.
just to be fair, your method did work when i updated my dopod 595 (WWE device) to your WM6.1 beta 4 ROM. but i never upgraded my SPL to 1.10. i only thought of upgrading SPL when you posted the new radio release and that's where i screwed up.
anyway, what is important here is, is my phone unrecoverable? im reading the links you posted as i type, and i'll give the methods. maybe based on your experience, you could suggest some ways to do it. thanks.

if it sais A07 then just flash rusian 1.34 rom and enerithing will be fine
application unlock it
run sspl 77.7
flash wm6.1
if it says enithing else you need to locate your original rom
till now i found that it sais a07 in most cases

it depends on the info displayed on terraterm
for A07 you can use the russian rom to recover
this is what i got from terraterm. same as mtty.

i did flashed back to my original ROM after the first stuck in WM screen incident. and amazingly the flashing process works after several mix and match. after the original (WM5) ROM completed flashing, my IPL is downgraded back to 0.9 and SPL is still 1.09, and im still stuck at the WM logo screen (this time WM5 logo).

i tried SD card flashing too yesterday. it says not allowed. i have already flashed over the original dopod 595 ROM and my phone is now WM5. the flashing is 100% successful, but it is still stuck at the second boot WM screen.
i think im in a really screw up position now. i have SPL 1.09 and IPL 0.9. i dont know what is corrupted now. is it the CID? SPL?
cid you can check with mtty and info 2...
if that so... just do what i have wroted in pm...
you could also just try the old htc rom (w. SPL 2.05)

both mtty and terraterm give me the same msg when i type info 2. it says time out (refer above for exact error message).
the original dopod 595 rom has SPL2.05. and it was successfully flashed into the phone. when the phone reboots, it is still stuck at 2nd boot screen (WM logo). i checked, the SPL is still 1.09, but IPL has been downgraded to 0.9.

So, guys, here is the first test SSPL for breeze. I have no breeze, so please report if it works.

start spl.lnk AND immediately press POWER and CAMERA buttons. (or try hust CAMERA)
if the screen shows sth like spl 1.01 DFR, then everything is ok - it is my spl
this version was intended to allow you to flash any CID rom update and unsigned nbh files. the next release will be based on the latest spl and include compatibility with new RUU of 1.34 rom updates and the feature to fix bad blocks.
EDIT - may 10, 2007 - SSPL V1 works successfully

i now have the problem that i can't connect mtty to bootloader... mtty ends with error when producing the cmd command line... i just had this problem with hermes to... i have 2 mtty version on all the 2 the same error...

Hi, i work on it!!
on afternoon/evening i will try to cook a rom with a few freeware tools bases on the actuell rom!!
i can begin working on wm6 rom recently when extract the excalibur content... because of the problem that breeze is a smartphone an hermes a ppc there would be some problems with coredll's of the system! because of that i need smartphone wm6 rom... befor that there is no wm6 on breeze possible!
....
can anyone else can try mtty with the sspl ?

this should work when you have a new spl installed - and you want to flash another cid rom!!
has nothing to do with unsigned code!!

take it and re nbh's it with the nbgehn utility ... than put it in the custom ruu folder start ruuwrapper and flash it...

Tried that 3 times already. Doesn't work! Although process finishes whithout any glitches, System Info still says Radio ROM 1.29.00, and my phone still acts like crap...
.... i tried it too ... no problem... you should have done a mistake...
download an usb sniffer and let it run when updating... maybe then we can see the error...
but i had done it too... with sspl had no problems!!
I confirm this is also work on my dopod 595.
Now I need to search how to change the splash screen

This is what I did/have...
- I have installed Radio ROM 1.29.00.10 (with older 1.32.251.1 RUU)
- My MTeoR is CIDed QTEK_A07 - all available RUUs fail with INVALID VENDOR ID error
- If I use SSPL (linked in this thread), my MTeoR actually does start SuperCIDed and I can run any RUU or custom ROM, and although all of them complete with success Radio ROM DOES NOT CHANGE at all.
My theory is (based on posts in Hermes upgrading forum) that Radio ROM 1.29 installed Radio BL 0108 which in turn does not allow flashing Radio ROM when started SPL is pre-1.09 codebase. I presume that it flashes with 1.09, 1.10 or newer only (makes sense because HTC released new 1.34 RUU which first installs SPL 1.09, then the rest of ROM).
Can anyone concur with my assessment or am I completely wrong?

I have now read for weeks the Hermes/Trinity threads wondering if this would be possible for "simple" smartphones too - and you did it
So while it is possible for the MTeor, maybe your kind of patching the SPL would also work for the Excalibur/S620?
I would love to flash my O2 Cosmo, but want to have an original ROM Backup for warranty/fallback reasons.
I also found out that it is possible to extract and cook ROMs for it like the way for the Hermes - but I cannot flash because of this f****g need for signed .nbh.
May be you are able to do this MAGIC on a Excalibur SPL too?
I would try out on my phone if you want to take the challange - if it doesn't work I think I'll have to get a MTeor

Hi, i've bough a p3600 on ebay.
The seller tell me the phone is out because he flash a bad radio version on the phone.
I try to upgrade some file. ( Rom OS, Radio, SPL,etc ...)
I try the splexploit...
BUT ... The phone already stay on startup. i can see HTC startup screen,the windows startup screen ...but never the today screen.
I try hard reset, htc official rom, cookeed rom,...but when i flash a rom with "gsm", the update freeze at 13%
I try with usb and with sdcard..same thing, already stay at 13% !
But if i flash hard spl, 100%, if i flash OS, 100%, just the radio freeze at 13%
Any idea please ?

Hi, updating the radio to 1.56 crashed, now I have the No gsm message and doesn't boot, running mtty from bootloader with info2 command it says supercid but I can't update any official rom SPA, WWE, ITA... the error is "vender id invalid". I've tried the sd method but returns to bootloader .

I've the same problem and after several attempts without result I sent the phone to the workshop and they told me the problem is with the main board! (this cost almost the price of phone itself). Moreover, I've seen some where here that the problem could be caused by radio chip but I couldnt get the detail.
If you find a solution give me a tip.
i've test lot of thing.
I progress with mtty. but i've got a problem ..i can't downgrade the phone under SPL 1.05.
SPL 1.04 can "reset" the radio, or enter directly to the radio bootloader. With that, i can save my phone.
Try mmty (see the wiki => bootloader info) and with the mfg spl, you can try the method.

I've got the same problem...
I've sim and cid unlocked my spv m700 some time ago, using wonderful software from pof. Everything went smooth.
Today I've decided to update radio rom to 1.38.00.11 to enable gps.
I've launched RUU, everything was ok till 44%, when I've got message "Communication error".
After that program tried to recover rom without success, I've got another message "Image corrupted"...
I've tried to reboot my spv (both SR and HR), after rebooting I see:
M 05
B 05 D 1.23
then those symbols disappear and I see only Orange logo.
That's it... The end...
Should I reload radio rom or both rom and radio rom to my DEAD spv? If yes - how?
Please help as I'm very disappointed, frustrated and so on!

Update: A-A-A!!! I did it! I revived my spv! Let me explain how (I'm kinda new to all this rom and and ssl things, so forgive me for mistakes, if there are any):
1 I ran unbrick software. Yesterday it did not work (said, that could not find smth), but today it worked fine.
2 I ran RUU and BINGO! That's it!
BTW, I have vista, but it still worked (I think, thanks to Windows Mobile Device Center, which I have installed).
Also, I killed wmd process in Task manager in the beginning (have read this recommendation somewhere).

Original ROM doesnt respond. I flash with cooked ones. Result 100% successful. I restart the phone- hang at boot screen.

Macars, try only with radio ripped or full original rom (from htc or cooked with radio) because some cooked rom have only OS.
Can you tell me what SPL you have?

it shows SPL 9.99 and with this I cannot flash anything so what I do is to update with splxploit and then the phone changes to SPL 1.2 olipro. With 1.2 I can only flash coocked ROM and will go until the end 100% successful- (original ROM the phone does not respond), but when restarts with newly loaded cooked ROM the phone hangs at window login screen and when put it in bootloader the SPL 9.99 returns again.... the story goes on like this.

you can only flash cooked rom because the rom you flash contains only OS. When you flash HTC rom, the rom contains os+radio+spl+....other thing ...
Try this method to downgrade your SPL (9.99) to oli 3.20 :
1°) run splxploit
2°)when the phone reboot on the spl 1.20 oli, run HardSPL 3.20 olipro. (search on the wiki or the trinity forum
3°)upgrade to 3.20 oli ...
Now, when you go to the bootloader, you can see SPL 3.20 oli.
Try reflashing a radio only (see the upgrading topic, you will see radio 1.56.xxxx)
Tell me if this method work.
When i'm on spl 3.20 oli, i can load radio rom to 0%
when I downgrade my phone to spl 1.05, and i can run the upgrading to 7% (best score )
To downgrade to SPL 1.05:
edit the "unbrick.bat" on the splxploit folder.
Replace TRIN_HardSPL.nb to TRIN_SPL105.nb
try to find SPL 1.04. I'm sure if i got the spl 1.04 i can revive the phone

I tried with SPL 1.05 the result is the same as your reaches 7% and restarts. I'm still trying to find SPL 1.04 I found one for Hermes I tried but didnt work failed.

I bought a new device and when I tried to upgrade it with an unofficial ROM I couldn't do the step of upgrading SPL and the indicator stayed stop at 0%
My Device boot loader shows :
DIAM100 64M
SPL-1.93.0000
MicroP-Diam (LED) v11
PSOC-Diam STAGE_PVT v0x30
I have tried all Hard-SPL Standard and Developers versions but I got the same result stopping at 0% including the RUU_Signed.nbh which is designed especially diamond came with 1.93 SPL originally

You have Hardspl installed already. You don't need to overwrite it again.

But also when I try to upgrade directly with any cooked ROM I face the same problem
the upgrade stops on 0%

What you show is the shipped SPL - so you will only be able to use offfical (if branded) operator customised ROMs.

If your phone shows this info after you flash hard-spl in your device, you dont have hard-spl in your device at all, so flash that first
you should seen 1.93Olinex forexample if u have flashed the 1,93unsigned hard-spl

No I am not saying that - If you dont have either OliNex or Jockeys HARDSPL then you could only use offical ROMs....etc etc...
So you really need to sort this issue out then you will be free to load any cooked ROM depending on your region
Remember that OliNex's SPLs have protection in them so that you can only update while you machine is connected via activesync.
When you try and Run the olinex SPL then you should get a popup on you devices screen asking you to confirm you want to run this application. Do you get this far?
Have you tried Jockys?

Never had to this before - but I've never had any issues flashing Hard SPL to devices - over 50 different handsets

What do you meen? I have olinex1.93 and never use Active sync to flash a rom (or start AC), I put my phone in bootloader manualy and flash. Or is Ac startup even is this situation?

I was trying to explain that don't try flash (another) SPL using HardSPL as olinex one has overwrite protection.
Flashing ROMs this way is no problem - but not recommended
Upgrading is not possible

I found that this new version of devices is HardCoded with original HTC-SPL
So its seems that upgrading to unofficial ROMs is not possible yet ...

I have Olinex 1.30 and have previously upgraded from ROM 1.34 to 1.93. However, I have tried upgrading the ROM to 2.03.831 but it doesn't work.
Do I need to upgrade the Hard SPL to 1.93 signed? Where can i get the file?

try the "RUU_Signed_1_93OliNex_HSPL_UnsignedEdition.zip" from THIS thread as this was the only one that worked for me. I recently flashed a O2 branded Diamond and was also about to give up...it was my last try/chance and eventually I succseeded in flashing any Diamond ROM until 100%.

Download this file: Unsigned-Hard-SPL-Diamond-OliNex.zip
and this: RUU_Signed_1_93OliNex_HSPL_UnsignedEdition.zip (you can choose another developer version such as HardSPL_Olinex137_Unsigned.zip)
Now copy the file RUU_Signed.nbh of seconde archive to replace the one in the first archive. Then run the ROMUpdateUtility.exe of the 1st archive. As the moment the percentage bar appears, run the SSPL-Manual.exe of the 1st archive from your PDA (of course, this file must be copied to PDA before via ActiveSync).
Just run again ROMUpdateUtility.exe if you have a phone not responding error.
Then there you go...

Ok now, I got the same situation as described above, but the phone's software won't boot. I can just put it in the bootloader mode. I cannot put the SSPL Manual file on the device. How do I reflash it then? USPL said that this version is not supported. Any ideas? Thanks for any input.

First, sorry for my bad English (French guy).
I make a SD flash with a Rom, and something strange occurs: my radio rom version change to 1.16.00.00. I try (always SD flash) to change it with a newer, the process looks good (the download bar increase, the device reboot) but the radio rom version always the same. I try to change OS rom, no problem. I try to change SPL version, impossible: all process executed without error but at the next load of SPL (power-camera-reset) the version is always the same (1.30 Olipro).
I try with another computer (Win XP pro SP2) and with activSync, the problem was the same !
And I try with several rom version, idem.
So to be quick
OS ROM change: no problem
SPL change: impossible
Radio ROM change: impossible
If someone have an idea, I will be very happy

Usually, I toogle in SPL mode manually.
The soluce for me was to downgrade the SPL (1.30 to 1.20 olipro) but let the RUU launch is own SPL.
And after, the SPL version was 1.20 and I can change ROM, Radio ROM etc...

i have read through the trinity guide and that is what they recommended
My trinity has been flashed with 1.3oli and a custom rom but it hangs at the start up page.This makes the device disconnect from the USB.
so how do i let the RUU launch its own SPL?
It is supposed to make the device go into bootloader right? i cant access that since it is hanged

I've exactly the same problem, oli 1.30, I can flash OS roms with no problem but I can't get a radio rom to go past 0%.
I've tried the spl exploit to boot into spl 1.07, I've tried going into the bootloader manually and I've tried letting the RUU load the SPL, no matter what I do I can't shift the radio from 1.16?
Any ideas?

i used SPLxploit and the spl jumps to 3.03...
tried to flash hard SPL and its has error 270...
so i did SPLxploit again...

You can't upgrade to the 1.56.70.11 Radio with Olipro 1.3. It looks like it's worked and gets to 100% on mine but doesn't actually change anything. I ended up using another HardSPL (can't remember the name now) to get the 1.56.70.11 Radio on there.
I looked for ages for a version of Olipro 1.2 but couldn't find one anywhere. Apparently it works ok with that version.
Sometimes these threads are really hard to follow when they get massive and the author updates the first posts and over writes stuff. I think they should all keep old stuff in there and just add too it instead of replacing information.

(I know I'm stupid ) Unfortunately after I update the Time and Date it suddenly appear " This concludes the beta test for this software release....... blah, blah,.... guess what? its a time bomb can't do anything on screen but to reset. So I decide to re-flash it again but I got stuck at 0% on bootloader mode and got Error 262, I tried to understand whats the meaning of it and I did, but never got any solution how? I tried to flash it with HSPLWrapper_Blackstone_156OliNex to restore Winmo 6.5 but I got stuck again on 0%. something unusual I tried to reflash more roms and it didn't work. All the Roms I've wont reach 1% Even flashing on SD card trick wont load. And my spl ver 1.15 can't flash anything. So I that's why I need your help desperately...
Near enough the exact same situation as me! I think that 1.15 file may have issues.

If you are getting an Error 262, you need to run manual sspl in order to resolve this. Read this post for the steps (post #2) and sspl tool (post #1) - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505377. You can also get all of the steps needed to successfully flash. if you have questions, please post them in that thread.
It seems when I restart my phone normally, I noticed that the message about " This concludes the beta test for this software release....... blah, blah" the manila interface was behind it when I press the task manager and the volume buttons it responses means its not bricked (hope so) maybe the reason why I cant flash anything? Or whatever...Well that's my observation..... Please guys I needed my phone badly tomorrow
Did you not read my post . You can flash another rom, error 262 is common. You just need to use sspl before flashing to hspl 1.56.
if ur stuck with hspl and cant flash that than try uspl or try stock rom.... they get installed without hspl or uspl installed.... its available in the blackstone wiki section
and with stock rom get through tomorrow . than try hspl or uspl with custom rom later on when u have free time
Upgrade the ROM with latest official HTC release it upgrades the bootloader to ver 1.54 as well. Then you can install the newest version of HSPL or just use USPL to flash whatever cooked ROM you want.
Apologies on replying again here instead of posting on the designated thread , but forgive my innocence the thread says "" launch SSPL-Manual.exe from attachment, run it, wait until 1.07.OliNex tricolour screen says "USB" on it, then run the HardSPLWrapper_Blackstone.exe on the PC. Currently I got the tri-color screen saying SPL-1.15.0000 and a USB on the bottom and when I flash either hspl or uspl I always end up on gray screen with a 0% that doesn't move at all, how can I manually apply SSPL? I cant access Manila interface because of time bomb message? My life's getting complicated!
If possible try flashing from an XP box, Vista/7 might give you some additional trouble if you don't use the right drivers. But if you get to the 0% screen, the issue shouldn't be with the SPL... so don't worry, I doubt the phone is bricked
So: try XP and/or using the drivers provided in the Flashing-thread

Did you downloaded the ROM from the HTC site? If the ROM is from the official site try again using USPL.
I seach the wiki page and found the latest version which is "Blackstone_WWE_1.56.405.1" and I can't find it on the official site, it should be "WWE" not specifying on certain countries, so I manage to download it from Rapidshare link. and for the SSPL I don't think I can do that coz I can't access my phone coz it has tim bomb probably the main culprit here.
