Hey everyone! I'm relatively new here and just thought i might start up a thread in which we can all post our software configurations on our Phones (Kaiser/TyTnII/Tilt/etc.). I'd really like to know what applications you all use and which ones you would recommend. Well I'll be the first to go .
FTouchFlo 1.4.1 (I really like this nifty little thing, gives you the ability to call up your Cube by a swipe of the finger)
SCLPC++ 0.051 (This is great for when you only have one hand free and need to quickly call someone or run an app, I use SCLPC++ Configurator along with it)
VTap Video (Great free Mobile video streaming program)
Microsoft LiveSearch (Excellent to find out..anything lol)
GoogleMaps Mobile (Great if you want a free gps navigator, has worked real good for me so far along with LiveSearch)
JBed3D (How many of you can resist a little 3d gaming on the go?)
PHM RegEdit (Nifty little free registry editor)
TCPMP + FlashVideoBundle (Great if you want to stream video or audio from websites, works great with YTPocket.com)
Bejeweled 2, Madden NFL, Tradewinds 2 (Some great games to play on the go imho)
MobiTV (Nice program for watching TV on your mobile)
Now to ask for a few recommendations, I need a good Large Digital Clock for my Today screen and an advanced task manager. Besides those i really would like to know any and all software everyone uses on their phones .
Everything I have listed in my signature is what I can't live without.
Pocket Controller Pro sounds Dirty.
Oh Oh do we get name tags and special fun markers? I call dibs on reb and blue first. Oh and I think it would be super sweet if we were all wearing matching shirts.
I couldn't like without Google Maps (yeah I download my maps, I'm not a cheap @#[email protected]#d) and TCPMP for my youtube/eskimotube lovin. Oh and lets not forget SiriusWM5 .. Gotta hear that Howard Stern.
BaBaBooie BaBaBooie
This is a good free digital clock for your home screen. Uses a pittance of memory as well.
Link
Oh man with sirius wm5 thing makes my days fly by at work.
I dont have all the revision numbers infront of me.
Dopewars, pocket irc, googlemaps, sirius, morphware emulator (millipede 2fingafun), sPd, ifonz, ereader, tcpmp, yahoo go 2.0, illum listpro, spybot.

A guy like me prefers a diffrent sort of app campaign than most ppl
On my tytn.. before it went for a swim i had app along these lines:
Emulators
Media player close to Winamp.. Gps player or sumthin like that, it was capable of streaming internet radio was well as playing mp3's
Instant messenger program.. i was using octrotalk because it was free and offer many of the same features of Im+ and Agile messenger. although i woudl have liked the send picture feature that Agile has!
Google Maps... with the Kaisers GPS i cant imagine how sweet It'll be
Alternate camera App.. i forgot what mine was called but it booted up much faster and offered a couple more options that the stock camera app
Java and Flash for Internet Browsing
Finally tons of custom Today screens and Dial pads.. i wasnt to into the lakeridge software apps because they required me to pay, and they ran off of my windows mobile OS as a completly diffrent OS (almost)... but the dial pads i found at zombienexus were pretty sweet
If anyone has gone ahead and found their favorite apps along these lines for their Kaiser i would apreciate it if they could post this findings for me and the rest of the forum users!

Emulators - None
Media Player - Tcpmp with flash enable hack
Instant Messagner - IM+ Ver 4.45
Map - Micorsoft Live Search with GPS
Jave/Flash - Built in Java, Flash lite
Today - Using HTC Home ver 2.0
Hey - probably like many the HTC Diamond is my first windows mobile phone.
So do all you seasoned users have any must-have programs that you would like to elaborate on?
So far i found that a proper video player was a must, Tcpmp did it for me, simple interface, nice features, and able to playback alot of different formats!
Atm im on the lookout for a good music player, that has album/cover support, but since i hope this is for the greater good - any program you can't live without or simply like - tell us the name, function and why its so good - so we all can get the most out of our shiny new gadgets!
There are album/cover support in both media players on the device.
Advanced Config appears to be a must-have for tweaking your device. Also, any registry editor is useful in order to make additional tweaks. Besides that, a custom ROM appears to be necessary to be able to really enjoy your device, because darn, those guys at HTC can do a lot except for making good ROMs. I personally prefer the TLR Rom version 2 over the others by a lót - you'll need to install Hard-SPL and the TLR Rom and that will wipe your device. Better to back up whatever you have by Active Syncing it with Outlook first.
gsen is a must have to auto rotate more applications.
wisbar advance 3 is a must have app !! a lovely task manager that skins the complete interface
a very good PIM program is SBSH pocket breeze also skinnable(cannot use if ur on touchflo 3d)
SPB wallet for all the password and cards (i use this quite frequently)
Google maps for maps
Im not into music on the PDA but apparantly pocket music player is the best there is
and core player for movies
Lexigoo dictionary(duh)
Pocket screen snap to take snapshot of the pda screen
astraware westward astraware bubble bobble(fun ) and orions are the best games so far iv used on my pda
i use spb finance for financial accounts
other softwares people use are sbsh phoneweaver(profile manager)
tomtom7
is the only app u need
Ok, just thought I'd post to see what everyone does with there Xperia X1 so that others can see what the phone can be used for and what not.
Currently I just use the phone for the phone, text, e-mail (with T-Zones) and use the Garmin a lot. Rather than that I'm still exploring on what to add to the phone.
I flashed a couple roms, from TF3D to the R2A and found that I am more satisfied with the R1A using the performance tweaks. I do like the TF3D but I like being able to pop the keyboard and type for anything that needs typing
I'm trying to incoprorate the phone as a music player and listen to music more so I'm going to be using the media panel, unless someone else can suggest something better. I want to be able to see all my songs and create a playlist rather easily and shuffle the songs.
Another thing I would like to have just incase is the WiFi tether for my laptop. I know t-zones is rather slow but having some internet would be better than nothing.
I also thought about blogging and taking random pictures to kind of keep up with whats going on in my life and that sort of thing. The facebook panel is ok, but I'd rather have like flickr or something to upload the pictures and blog about it.
So what do YOU guys do with your Xperia? And what do YOU guys recommend?
I use mine for email, web, gps, the odd photograph, writing articles (usually with a photo) and as an Mp3 player..
Never usually bother with txt and obviously make the odd phone call.
Then there's all the tweaking, tinkering and hacking..
as to music I tend to use the one in TF3d, which works fine for my needs, (but then I just stick it on shuffle).
Without tf3d I use either
Conduits pocket player (which is a really good music player (commercial) and uses media player skins see http://mylostblog.altervista.org/ for some of those)
freeware there's mortplayer, and s2p, but s2p doesn't do playlists just yet, possibly next version by the look of it.
Never got on with tcmpmpmpm/coreplayer but others love it.
- Full email with built-in messaging and marvellous ProfiMail
- Full Internet (OperaMobile 9.5, OperaMini 4.2)
- YouTube
- Photos, and sometimes video recording
- Music
- RSS Feeds
- Constant work with Office, especially Pdf and Word (currently DocsToGo but planning to get Softmaker)
- Of course extensive use of Calendar, Notes, Tasks (busy life)
- GoogleMaps
- And utilities like ExpenseDiary, Stopwatch, Dictionary, Calc and Currencies!
- Ebooks reading
- Simple Weather app by Gega (great!)
- screen capture utility to catch maps from google maps when abroad (cheap and practical!!!)
As for UI, I just love panels and have two of them (one clean, one with most of my apps I use and all I need)
I also use MediaPanel which supports creating playlists. I don't really watch movies on X1 since it basically kills battery. Anyway there's a sticky containing good converter for videos for X1.
Hope it helps, apparently I don't do too little with my Xperia.....
First of all, don't blog. Too many people doing it, too few people caring, you'd be wasting your time.
Beside that, my uses include (in order of importance)
- Tinkering
- Calling
- Sms messages
- Musicplayer
- Video's
- Email
- Games (SNES)
- Random stuff
Apart from the obvious; making calls.
-I surf the net alot with Opera.
-Use mt 8GB card to listen to music synced via PC(always shuffle)
-Watch Youtube sometimes
-GPS with TomTom is wow( Where would we be without GPS)
-Some games - actually bejewelled
-E-mail - a lot of e-mail. Windows Live rocks
-Texting too.
I've been using Windows Mobile aka Pocket PC Phone Edition when it first came out in 2000. Same what you will about Microsoft but they've got the best Mobile software in existence. Believe it or not, I'e never owned a regular cell phone. Been using WinMo since MS launched the XDA with T-Mob in 2000.
-turn it back on when it turns off
-restart it when coreplayer crashes
well i gotta admit i love mobile gaming. This phone really dissapointed me, a lot. Gaming sucks so hard. Hopefully with all these WVGA phone coming, there will be more support for gaming. Even emulators suck, compared to those on Symbian.

2- Agenda/tasks PIM
3- Portable laptop with all my work/personal files (16 GB microSD)
4- Internet browsing (opera)
5- All my email accounts
6- HSDPA Internet Router for office/home/meetings/fiends

I currently use:
Calls/Messages/Emails - Daily
Calendar (sync with my work server daily)
As a modem (1 month via usb - then found out about wifi programs) - great when on holidays
Internet - daily via wifi and 3G (Opera and IE - Opera won't recognise some certificates for some reason)
Weather (SPB Weather 2) daily
Currency (SPB Traveller) - occasionally (once a fortnight)
Word and Excel - every few days
Powerpoint and PDF on and off (I may have heavy usage for a few days then not use it for a month)
SPB Wireless Monitor (Daily - my telco can't seem to give me accurate usage estimates)
Pocket.RAR - lots at the moment... probably not so much in the future (I can't install winrar on my work pc)
Run.GPS UV Trainer - I would like to say daily... but I haven't been that good at the moment
TomTom7 - when I drive my car that doesn't have a gps built in (mainly on weekends - although I do prefer the gps on my x1 to the one in my other car).
Games - THPS2 daily, SPB Air Islands - once every few days, sudoku... when I am really really bored.
Radio and MP3 - daily
Movies - a few times a week (currently using coreplayer).
Almost Forgot... soft reset - multiple times daily at the moment...
wow. Thanks for all the comments guys.
1) I agree with the emulators being crappy compared to Symbian and stuff. I really wish we had a better one cause I love the idea for landscape and having a keyboard.
2) I like the weather panel. Reminds me of the TF3D weather and the iPhones weather. Very nice.

What a device!
Hi All,
Shouldn't the question be, what don't you do with your Xperia. I travel all across the UK, Ireland and Central Europe with my job and since having the Xperia and an 8GB SD card I leave my laptop & TomTom 910 at home now as the X1 (along with the SE car charger) does it all for me!
Cheers,
Astoroth
phonecalls, msgs, im and checking emails
weather updates
alarm, appointments
surfing web with opera
youtube
games- virtual pool, bubble breaker
radio and mp3 (everyday)

snapping random and landscape pics, videos
watching videos (and showing off the nice vid qlty to my mates)
Dear All:
While it's a common practice after hardSPL is out (hoping to be a.s.a.p), I think it's a good if users get to vote on what features they are interested in device because we might be looking for a selective set of services based on our normal device usage. For example:
- Reset icon/Tab/shortcut, because Rhodium reset is behind the cover (kinda stupid)
- Fast media players (using currently Divx for Pocket PC) that can run a movie without any glitch or delay.
- G-sensor based apps/games.
- FM Radio built in.
- better colors for TouchFlo 3/D
- Better taskbar icons
Let's vote for what you guys want.
Nothing but my language...
in fact i think it is better to flash a bare, stable and fast rom without anything but the wanted language! I prefer german roms.
Then i can customize it with .cabs by my own and can leave all these unuseful things like fm-radio, manila, skins, IE and so on...
Greets
Alfons
need memory
need more free rom and ram....
maybe with lzx compression we can have more free memory
From what ive seen of stock and the new TF3D interface im very pleased already.
Looking for no bloatware, basically standard but with better battery life, performance in general and some tasty bundled apps.
Simples
This is the first WM device I ve had, that doesn't really need a cooked rom. Everything works perfectly.
Although like to see some stuff added on the next version, like:
Reset Shortcut
FM Radio With RDS and technical info about reception, frequency etc.
Gray/Black Highlights etc, I really don't get why HTC insists to use green.
Same BG on all manila tabs without slowdowns.
Some opera version that you can understand what link you just clicked (or don't clicked).
Black/Dark Phone Canvas
Greek available by default on eZinput
Most of this issues are already solve, but its always nice to see a flawless ROM
BT stack
bring the good old MS BT stack - volume setting on the device for BT stereo headset during MP3 playback was working with Raphael. now this is not working at all with Rhodium
Here are some things in my dreams
-Windows Mobile 6.5 (I already have had 6.5 on my Excalibur for a month)
-Opera mobile 9.7
-Manila 2.5 (the newest Touch Flo 3D interface) + Footprints
-Pre-installed app for the built in radio that just works
-More, better Facebook integration into contacts (If anyone is good enough to do that, but I think that Manila 2.5 also addresses this issue somewhat)
-Some legit new wallpapers to chose from
-Some sort of program that can find a new directory for each key on the keypad/front keys. (Example you could program a key to open the camera, another for the radio app)
-TCPMP (is a beast of a media player, like vlc but for WinMo)
These are all of the things that I could think of that would make the TP2 almost perfect. I will update this post if I think of anything else.
Remote Tracker software.
If someone can get Blackberry esq capability working with full functionality and same speed as my BB Bold then I will jump back to HTC device at a flash
I left due to frustrations with Touch HD (admittedly I hadn't changed from the stock ROM) but I missed the keyboard - bad choice on my behalf the touch HD
mainly I want a 6.5 ROM that is very low on memory consumption. I can handle the rest
I have a Vodafone UK version so here are some of the things i'd like change...
A Youtube Application (vodafone take it out) that doesnt break the filters for the normal player that comes with it (gallery doesnt work)
A Comms manager in the notification area like it used to be...
Manilla 2.5
Vodafoen modified Manilla to have Black text so cant see any on the writing on the main homescreen with my choosen background unless its basically white... So the return of white text would be great...
Battery always staying visible in the status bar...
Windows 6.1/6.5 doesnt matter too much as i do most things from the Manilla interface
Well the things I'd opt for are:
* Preinstalled FM-radio
* TCPMP
* Opera 9.7
* Soft reset
* BT headset-finder
* Country-specific keyboard management
* G-sensor sensitivity in "all" apps
* Footprints
* Music ID
Then of course; better battery-time and Manila 2.5 would be great...
My 2c worth/McHan
well i opt for a bare based default 6.5 windows. and the rest of the application will be thru a cab file. thanks
The things I would like to have in a ROM are as following:
- G-Alarm 1.5.1 (latest free version)
- Microsoft Facebook Application
- TotalCommander
- Microsoft MyPhone
- MP3 Trimmer
- any software where you can rotate, crop and compress pictures
Everything else I rather install on the storage card.
* Titanium
* .Net 3.5
* BB Connect That works
I'd like to see a lite/naked version with no M3D, maybe HTC Home instead, or just the standard WM "desktop".
For apps:
- batterystatus ext.
- TCPMP w/.flv plugin
- Google Maps
- Opera (latest)
- TotalCommander
- PIMBackup
- some sort of WM5torage-like app to turn the phone into a USB card-reader/memorystick.

Actualy no need for WM5Storage. TouchPro 2 has this feature built in. When you plug in your USB, it asks you whether you want to use it as ActiveSync, Internet connection, or Removable Disk. For me I always keep the check box UNCHECKED so that I can choose everytime I connect a USB among these 3 options.
If you choose option 3, simply you will get your SD card as a removable drive on any other computer without having ActiveSync/Mobile device center isntalled

+1: a good working bt stack that can handle more than 1 device at a time corectly and have implemented all powersaving features of the bt definition, so that the batterys of headsets and bt watches are not quickly (approx. 10-15 hour's in standby with only little use) drained. also good a2dp and sound quality, and not disconecting devices for no reason (sometimes in the middle of a call) all the above i face daily on my athena and i will not buy a new htc product until this is working.
mad
-WinMobile 6.5, stock, no fancy customizations to keep it trim and stable
-Contacts app that lets me see my contact history with that contact, and also click on relatives of the contact to see their profiles. Say I have a friend, and I have his wife Brooke listed. I click her name, and her profile pops up. Something clean and smooth.
-Threaded conversation view with text messages and e-mails.
-Full MS Office Mobile so I can edit, create, and view word/excel/powerpoint on the phone.
-PDF and FLV viewers that don't crash the phone.
-Playback of mp4, mpg, mpeg, divx, xvid video without me having to load new codecs on the phone myself.
-Included Apps: E-Book reader (*.lit format), RSS Reader, PDF Reader, FLV/Youtube player, 2-time-zone clock, stocks, bing maps, weather with 5-day forecast below current conditions, calendar, windows media player, app store, MS Office Mobile, IE Mobile, solitaire, freecell, minesweeper, that bubble game, camera app that captures pictures and video, picture viewer (GIF, JPG, JPEG, BMP, PNG).
-Media Library app that looks like JackLuminous' app from The Green Button - something that lets me view my music by artist, album, year, genre, all songs, and playlists, and separate music, TV, movie, and podcast sections.
*The home screen would be: Music, TV, Movies, Podcasts, Audio Books.
*Click Music. You see; Artist, Album, Genre, Songs, Year, Playlists
*Click Artists, and you see the albums by that artist, by album cover, that you can swipe left or right. Below you see the year, genre, and record label - click those to see all songs release that year, by that genre, or by that record label. Click the album cover to see the track list. at the bottom is a back and a play button.
That's my biggest request - a media library app for the phone. I really think this is an area that WinMobile falls down on, and if someone wants to develop this further, I'd be glad to help them out.
i´m searching for a clean rom. without any programs (office, manila, ...)
all this soft you can find here as cab-files and you can install it.
the cleanest is often the fastest rom!
Can anyone recommend an audio player that is better than the SE one?
Happy to pay if it's worth it.
The one thing I do like on the X2 is it's ability to store a bunch of my CDs so I can play them.
I just wish the media player was a bit better:
- bigger pic of the CD cover would be nice
- more info about the CD (e.g. year released)
- better info on tracks (if the track is from a various artists CD let me see which artist the track is by)
That's all I can think of right now.
Thanks.
winamp for ppc perhaps
i think its called WinamPAQ

Nitrogen is a freeware player which isn't bad & has an EQ & is skinable. Now, Pocket Player is (IMHO) the absolute BEST player on Windows Mobile. It has an EQ & ability to do 'full-screen' Album covers. The only caveat: they are NOT on Windows Marketplace, and if you have to reset the phone & reinstall, you're going to have to beg them for another key. (I *HATE* that kind of crap, and I've gotten to the point where I go out of my way to AVOID anything that's not on Marketplace. Also, Marketplace lets you download on up to 5 devices, ...so for me: I don't have to re-buy all the stuff I bought on the X1 for my X2.)
Please AVOID at all costs the Kinoma (payware) player. Although it looks like you're getting a great bargain, it has a default setting to always "search the entire phone" for new content. And, even if you turn that off, every now-and-then it loses its cookies and forces you to unexpectedly re-catalog the entire phone (usually, when you MOST want to 'just listen to music').
PocketMusic is another freeware player, that supposedly supports WinAmp skins, and has an EQ. I found this one really flaky with a CLUNKY interface that was well-bested by Nitrogen.
...Now, after all was said-and-done, I'm back to using plain-vanilla Windows Media Player. This is for a number of reasons:
1) It's skinable, too. (Look for the toadlife_Sense25_WMP_Skin_signed.cab; it's HTC-like, but really clean)
2) It is fast at cataloging tunes, and I don't know how it does it, but doesn't take a gb or two to do it (Kinoma; I'm *****ing at you!), and it's completely at your discretion when you want to update it.
3) Album-size, while not as fancy as I'd like, is not bad.
4) Using the default X2 Saturn skin (MR2 firmware), WMP's library selection doesn't look bad (although it doesn't show album art like PocketPlayer or some others), and is fairly finger-able.
5) BOTTOM LINE: I noticed that (although it doesn't have a built-in EQ), the sound quality is actually noticeably better than Nitrogen & PocketMusic provided. It seems as if WMP engages some sort of noise-canceling when actual signal is produced. You can hear it kick-in when you hit play. And, this is not to say that dynamic range is reduced. I think it sounds better in-ear than on X1, in general, even though I was able to run the HTC EQ in the background on X1 (not compatible with X1, due to the hardware not being HTC).
For me, Slideview entirely crashes after a few mins anytime I run it. I have a 16gb card with LOTS of pictures, games, emus & music. Unfortunately, Slideview is very persistent and you can't hack the registry to limit what folders it looks in (it just HAS to look everywhere). There seems to be some files (possibly emus) that it thinks are Videos (but are not) and when it gets to refreshing them, craps out.
But, WMP works well for me. --If you can't live with it, go for PocketPlayer. I may go back to it someday, myself... but I want to be absolutely sure I won't do a full-phone-refresh someday. I've had the X2 for a little over a month, and am pretty well-settled, but ...there were a lot things I tried/uninstalled, etc. which have probably bloated my registry (I might have to break down and reload one day).
