I got this deal from Dealnews.com. I actually bought one 2 weeks ago, and am impressed with it... it works well and since it doesnt have one of those long flexable goose necks, it doesn't vibrate my 6800 like my previous crappy ebay mount did. Here is the text:
Meritline.com offers this Adjustable Universal Windshield Mount for $14.99 before coupon code "SHP50POFF", $7.49 after. With free shipping, it's one of the lowest total prices we've seen for such an item. will this still work if I have one of the extended 2400 batteries on my phone?

Hi,
Anyone can suggest a very good car cradle/holder for Kaiser?
The one that has power connector of course.
I cant use my old cradle (I used it with the Magician) because the usb power location is different (opposite).
you could always face the phone in the other direction...
I have always been very impressed with the powered holders from:
http://www.proclipusa.com
I have already asked them about the Kaiser, and they confirmed they are making one, it just isn't available yet.

Looks like ProClip is ready to go for the Tilt
robroy90,
The Tilt now appears in Proclip's device selector.

Yes, and it has been listed for several weeks. But after you place the order, you will see that it is backordered. I ordered mine over 2 weeks ago and it still hasn't shipped.
In spite of this, I have always liked my proclip holsters and holders.
I ordered one last week and it is due to be delivered on Wednesday. I've owned 4 other proclip device mounts and 3 car mounts, and have loved all of them. If you've never used a proclip mount, it will probably cost you $90-100 or so for the device mount and car mount combined. Their car mounts are pretty slick also.

I ordered and received my ProClip about a month ago, and absolutely love it. I will say that it does take a little getting used to sliding it in. Since the Tilt sits forward in the clip (gap behind the Tilt) so that the keyboard can slide, it can be a bit of a trick in the beginning figuring out just how to slide it in, especially when doing it without looking. But now, I can slide it in without looking, and have no issues at all.
For those looking for a cheap solution, the Kaiser is actually slim enough to fit into most cellphone vent mounts, if you trim the cushions a little bit. That solution is also less obtrusive and less likely to get your car broken into.

I'm looking for a mount for the car for my mogul. I would prefer one that is powered, but I can always run my own power cord.
Ideally I'd like a mount with the built in speakers for gps etc..
I'm thinking about this one from iTrek and was wondering if anyone has any experience with it?
http://www.semsons.com/ipocrmowiins18.html
This one from seido looks nice since it allows the keyboard to slide out, but its $120, most other mounts are like $20-50whats with seidos pricing?
http://www.seidioonline.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=881
Don't forget that you'll have to buy a pedestal to go with the iTrek.
I've been thinking about getting this...
http://www.seidioonline.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=881
I was thinking about that same one but $120 seems kind of expensive. I've looked all over and can't seem to find it any cheaper. I also noticed that other seido car kits are about $40-80
even with the pedestal the itrek is much cheaper. the pedestal is only $8-10 so $40 total, theyre on sale for 29.99 plus say 10 for the mount. still way cheaper.
i think Seidio's are WAY overpriced like Proclip. $100+ for some plastic, no thanks

I just bought the itrek and it should be here early next week. Thanks for the links, everyone. I'll let you know what it's like once I have a chance to test it.
let us know if it has a mic and audio jack
Remember
I bought the Seidio for My 6700 back last year and paid 120 but I forgot I was using the tight plastic cover, and would not fit, I never used It. I used the windshield mount and put velco on it to hold it up for my GPS.
So I am just saying consider all your assy. when pick out a car mount. I winded up with a $120 windshield mount..

I started a new thread to discuss it:

http://www.amazon.com/Vehicle-Verizon-Samsung-Fascinate-Galaxy/dp/B0043H2CE8/ref=pd_bxgy_cps_img_b
Ok I've been looking around for a desktop charger or window mount for our phones and found nothing. But yet the other Galaxy class phones have them. Also.. I think each desktop and window mount is diffrent cause I tried the one for verizons Fascinate and it just didn't fit. So that's kinda dumb not to try to keep the mount specs the same where you'd only need to have 1 desktop charger and 1 window mount type.
Have you seen this stand?
http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones-accessories/SGH-I917ZKAATT-product
yay.. kinda generic thoo nice thing about one where you plug your phone into it is you don't have to worry about the port getting damaged from plugging it in and leaving it lay around. eh maybe they'll make it in time because the ATT store doesn't even carry the captivate one.
i have th Samsung one http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones-accessories/ET-CS01SBEGXAR . It is just OK.
A better solution is to go to Wal*Mart and in their automotive section is this stand. It works great for only $8.
I bought 2 of these in black:
elago M2 stand and dock from Amazon (link not allowed - sorry) @ $24.99 each
I had to bend the bottom prongs out just a little to handle the BodyGlove hard case, but it sits nicely either portrait or landscape. Granted, they aren't cheap but they are nicely made and generic enough that I could use them with a host of different phones.
Hmmm pretty nice find.
http://elagostore.com/elago-M2-StandDock-For-iPhone-4/M/B002OLM56K.htm
Or another choice...
I just received the Clingo stand for my wife's Focus. I like it even more than the elago stand, and it costs about the same. Go to www dot clingo dot com to see it (their price is full retail - again, I bought it through Amazon for something like $25).
This stand has a 360 degree pivoting head and MAN is the grip on the phone strong. It has a feed hole in the stand for the power/sync cord. Perfect for the nightstand while charging.
-Dave
Hmm I was looking at the clingo but some people didn't give it a good rating and explained about it not really holding their phone too well. I was looking for something portable too like
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00278ZQBQ/ref=ord_cart_shr?ie=UTF8&m=AZZOQCD4U42P0
or
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003778T8I/ref=ord_cart_shr?ie=UTF8&m=A2D0IBDF2WHYZS
Key chainable one looks nice, and it looks to be a bottle opener too..
I'll probably get 2 of them to try out, because I've been sitting in the coffee shop using my cup to hold my phone up while watching podcasts.. lol
Stay away from the Crabble
The first link - I bought 2 of those a while back, and it SHOULD have been spelled "Crapple". It is nothing more than some stiff cardboard. In a couple of days the stands were virtually unusable and I ended up throwing them out. Seriously, not even a week's use.
The second one below looks interesting as a mobile stand. Still, I am really digging the Clingo stand so far, enough so that I am ordering the mobile version (they have one on the site which clings to a laptop while holding a phone). Granted, I have no long term data on how well this will stick, but it seems to be working great so far.
The best car holders I have found are those by ProClip USA. A little more expensive, but well worth it.

Looking to purchase a windshield car mount for my HD2 (TMOUS). I've seen a lot of posts raving about vent mounts, but not too many for windshield mounts. I found this product that seems like it should be able to do the job, but before purchasing I was wondering what other people have bought/think about it.
I'll only be using this while I put my phone into GPS mode, so I can get around the city easily.
Thanks!
just go BRODIT... I know it is not windshield but it fits perfectly... both the car and the phone... besides that I hate having something in the windshield while driving... in some states it is even forbidden....
From the photos, it doesn't seem like a good choice - I feel like the phone won't be secured enough, and even if it secures it, you don't seem to have a lot of options regarding angle tilt.
For the normal HD2 (not sure if it would fit the TMOUS) I recommend this from ebay. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=310314688415
The mount is rock solid.
The tab on the cradle normally breaks off after a year or so's use with all the other versions I've had so I expect it to do the same, but I just buy the cheapest one I can find and swap over the new cradle.
The cases and other bits as well make the £11 an absolute bargain.

Don't bother, I'll jusk ask some friends who are studying there, and they'll just bring it over home when they return for the holidays
Finally ordered one!!!
not cheap, actually very expensive but if you have used brodit before i think you will agree they are the best docks avalible especially if you dont want them on your windscreen and want the phones held securely.
its a preorder at moment, but if you want one and your in the uk

ive ordered all my previous brodits from them and they have always been top notch.
i will get a few pics up when it arrives.

Damn that's expensive tough
Any word on when it would be available?
I placed my order two days ago and received an email indicating backorder status. I ordered mine to be shipped next day air so hopefully I will have it soon. I can't handle not having a car dock.
I totally agree its very expensive. But I know it will work as advertised unlike other docks ive had nightmares with (1 broken screen, 2 phones had usb ports broken. 1 cracked windscreen when I tryed to remove a sucker when it was about minus 5).
Ive also selected next day. From experiace with the hox it was here within a few days when on back order. I will kepp you posted.

If you're in the US, you can go to Proclipusa.com it looks like you can order these for immediate shipment.
As you said they're not cheap, but these look like really high quality mounts and docks.
Just ordered mine from proclips. I have bought one for almost every phone I've had. Hopefully it arrives quickly I feel lost without somthing to slide my phone into every time I jump in my truck. Best vehicle dock I have used by far.

I'd much rather see Samsung make one just like the original note. I prefer my gps in landscape mode, and haven't seen a car dock with this option yet.

The brodit allows both!. You just twist the dock to your desired orientation.

I ordered mine from proclipusa yesterday and got an email today saying they are on backorder... Hopefully it won't be too long. Ordered two of them and one vehicle mount. Ouch... BUT, one of those setups with a Note II is a badass GPS device imo. Also, as soon as they come out with radios with BT supporting Apt-X, I'll be able to have an awesome CD quality music source, sans wires...
Proclip thats who I ordered mine thru and it's backorder 1-7 days according to my email.

I loved my ProClip mount for my Garmin iQue, it's a quality piece. My only decision is where do I want to mount it? I've got a Toyota Camry, I'm leaning towards the angled mount, but that console with tilt looks good, too.
ETA Back after unloading a total of $104 - about three times as much as the first one I purchased. Sheesh. It's a good unit, though.
I ordered arkon slim grip for galaxy note and it still works for galaxy note 2.
I love it .

I too have had excellent service from Brodit, no problems there. I currently still using Brodit Note 1 holder. The micro USB is still in the same position if not a big awkward to locate straight away. Because the Note 2 is slightly narrower than its predecesor it does rattle round in the holder a little bit but is perfectly usable.
Does the Note 2 have a car dock mode that can be enabled?

I'm not sure what the best way to enable it is, but I just use CarHome (I think that's what it's called). When I plug it into the car, I just launch the app which takes literally zero seconds. There may be better options though.
This is my first ProClips purchase and I've got to say, it's an out-freaking-standing mount. Very solid and the range of motion is great. Worth absolutely every penny as long as it doesn't become loose in tolerances or anything. As long as it endures like it should, I'm glad I purchased this. I ordered mine on the 5th and got the backorder notification as expected. Shipped on the 8th, arrived on the 9th, and was at home as I returned from picking up the phone. Great timing.

Nope and that sucks a bit, but usually the components that make a mount adjustable are ones that can detract from the stability of the setup, so I'll take it. If you've got a difficult case to remove like a Defender, it's going to be a bit more of a hassle.... I am just buying a Body Glove case for very basic protection, and should be easy enough to remove/replace when needed.
But yeah the fact that it won't accommodate a case will be a deal breaker for many I think.

Just received my email back from Proclip:
"Item number 521432 is not currently in stock, but it is scheduled to arrive early this week; once we have it since we ship from Madison WI shipping to you would take 1 business day.
This holder is designed with the bare phone in mind, so unfortunately it will not fit with even a very thing case."
Kind of disappointed because I was going to jump on this so long as it fit with the Samsung flip case.
