sorry for posting, but i've realy used the search functionality but all link i've found about this were dead.
My company migrated to LOTUS NOTES coming from Outlook.
How can I synchronize my Calendar / Contacts with my Kaiser?
Is there a free software alternative?

Do you know a good sync tool for Lotus notes.
Local sync is enough (no need to direct sync with the domino server).
If you want to just sync with the local lotus notes installation then you can use Mnotes from commontime.
If your wanting to sync on the move then you will need to use Msuite but your company will need to install the msuite software on a server to push the mail out.
Both work excellent but I prefer to use Msuite
Mnotes works great , but try as well the new solution direct from Lotus Notes. Lotus Traveller is a real notes client and does all kind of push mail , sync or text info messaging .
Works perfect with my notes 8 .
Like multi-plattform blackbery funcitionality but from Notes Native.

Next problem. I've tried mNotes, but after i've installed it it tried to connect to the internet (if i click on the service in the right bottom corner and look on the first page).
Why does this tool wants to connect to the internet. To a CommonTime Switching Center (csc.commomtime.com)
I've thought the sync runs local????

Time For a New Job.
First Act of my Reign When I came to my company, was to get us off Lotus Notes. I could never get it to work right On PCs, Let alone my Mobile.
My company use notes and I can't connect through the Wireless to the server and they wont pay for a data plan. So I installed outlook and used the Lotus Notes connector to sync all my contacts, calendar, and email to my phone. It kinda sucks. It would be nice to wirelessly sync all the time.
But hey it works.
I use Intellisync. It does not have the best of interfaces, but I successfully sync with Lotus Notes 7 and have done with 6.5 in the past.
Having said that, I am regularly complaining to our IT director about Notes. Awful program.
My company uses Lotus Notes 6.5.4. Everybody complains but I.T.'s response is "Notes is superior and has better blah blah blah stupid users we're not changing."
I use Commontime's mNotes to sync; if you pay for the subscription plan, you can also get push email. It's works good, but has minor flaws; for instance, I sync at home with Outlook, and occasionally notes within todo's are copied to Notes, and sometimes I get a "replication or save conflict" especially if I've been on the road using InOffice.
But Intellisync can't handle the home Outlook sync. It duplicates entries like crazy. If you're only syncing to a single desktop, Intellisync is good but with 2 desktops it's worthless.

Sounds like we might work for the same company!
I finally got fed up and set up a hosted Exchange account with Sherweb. I set up a rule in Lotus Notes to have all my emails automatically forwarded to the Sherweb account, and have an alias (my work email address) for the outgoing mail. Now I don't have to use Lotus Notes at all anymore because they give you Outlook 2007 for all your computers. I have push email and wireless syncing for calendar, contacts, and tasks, and couldn't be happier.
If you want to sync locally XTNDConnect PC is your program.

Easy Sync Pro works flawlessly for me. Why would anyone switch to Notes 6 when Notes 8 is the current version? makes no sense.
I've just upgraded to Windows 7, from XP on my PC. The one thing I cannot get used to is the lack of Outlook Express.
I have Outlook 2007 and I've successfully imported all my XP messages and contacts etc. The thing I don't like about Outlook is that all images have to be opened as a separate file.
I've also tried to use Thunderbird but so far I've been unable to import my messages from Outlook (or Outlook Express from XP) it just hangs during the import.
Does anyone know of a way to make Outlook able to view images directly from the message rather than opening them individually?

Take backup of outlook data and use portable outlook... or just install outlook 07/10 and add old outlook data file in it.

I've now managed to import my old emails into Windows Live Mail. For some reason it took a couple of attemps but I've finally got it sorted.

It seems that you can't use Windows Mobile Device Center to sync from pc to HD7 phone, it has to be done via a hotmail/windows live account. I really cannot understand why many developers and the might of Microsoft deem it a wise move. Apart from security issues of putting lots of data in to the cloud, the process seems to be impossible to use efficiently. I am finding some contacts with a company name longer than a set number of characters will not fully sync, and there seems to be a limit to the amount of information for a contact. Is this really progress? Does anyone know of any third party apps which enable the sync between outlook and a WP7 phone? Even after the initial sync of contacts and calendar to my windows live hotmail account, which itself took ages, it seems a long while before any changes made on one appear on the other. I am seriously thinking of returning my HD7 - a great pity as WP7 seemed to promise so much. It is most certainly NOT aimed at the business user. Nokia, for all its faults, has a much better program for syncing a Nokia with Outlook, as does iTunes! Even Android has some degree of pc-phone syncing. Anyone got any helpful ideas?
Have patience and give it a try. I too didn't like the new method but once I had pruned my contacts removing unwanted stuff from the notes field it did copy over.
I now have it set up using emails and calander from my exchange account, email from 2 hotmail accounts, with contacts comming from my main hotmail account i set up yesterday.
It was strange at first but I've converted quickly.
P.S just discoved the APPLICATION tab in SETTINGS where you can rename the live tiles too
Thanks xma1e, I'm pleased to hear I'm not the only one to find it awkward. Do you know if there is a limit on the number of people you can have, and also what the limit on size of notes is?

I thought I'd give the Windows Live services a try before moving all my emails and contacts from Google Apps.
I set up a couple of accounts on Windows Live Domains to replace my Google Apps accounts and the first hurdle I hit was not being able to setup an alias email address. Email from only one address (primary) can be received. Email forwarding can't be configured from the domain host because Windows MX servers are handling the email.
The 2nd issue, setting up calendar sharing would always fail. And this wasn't just with the new accounts, two test accounts I setup over a week ago were still failing when setting up calendar sharing between the two. So back to Google Apps for me.
The above issue weren't specific to me, Googling showed lots of users affected.
I might be going off topic but I'm annoyed MS are pushing "the cloud" eveywhere yet the features aren't complete or broken. What took me around 8 hours to setup and configure on Windows Live took 8 mins to change back to Google Apps which works 100%.
Also, if you do have shared calendars working on your Hotmail/Live accounts does the HD7 show them? An early beta review of WP7 by Pocketnow showed shared calendars not working.
Inability to sync Outlook from desktop is a massive oversight. Lots of people use Outlook as a PIM on the desktop, without an Exchange back-end. I have been anti-iphone for ages, I gave back my work-issued iphone as not fit for purpose, and bought the TD2 out of my own pocket, but have been anxiously awaiting the HD7.
Whilst the HD7 and Windows Phone OS is blowing me away, it's so quick, slick and easy to use, I am now trying to work out the best option for syncing Outlook automatically.
The standard option from the web, a 4-step sync between
a) Outlook - Google
b) Google - Windows Live in Outlook
c) Windows Live in Outlook - Windows Live Online
Is not an option because I am running 64-bit Outlook that google sync does not support. There are some 3rd-party options to investigate but these will all cost money.
As reply to kougei, I just had a quick scan of Google's website - are you sure about the Google Sync 64 bit Outlook incompatibility, this is what I read off their website...

Use Outlook Connector to sync between Outlook to Window Live if you don't need your data in Google.
Outlook Connector is part of the Window Live Essentials pack.

If you have moved your own domain to Live as I have, what you have to do is create a new user that is the alias you want, then set that user to forward email to your primary address. That is what Microsoft tell you to do, and it works just fine.
To the OP - you're living in the past! It's all about the cloud now, move all your stuff onto the cloud.
If you move to the Live services (and you can put your own domain into Live for free) you benefit from all the syncing of calendars, contacts and email for no cost. Outlook has the Live connector which you use to push all your existing email, contacts and calendars to Live and then collects new email coming in.
In terms of delivery speed - if someone sends me an email I get it at the same time on my phone, Outlook, live web interface...
If you can't use the Live set of services for whatever reason, you can look at a hosted Exchange server. There are plenty of them about and will give you the best possible experience and integration with WP7, Outlook and web based email. One who I do not use personally but I have recommended to others who find it works perfectly (Though nobody I know who uses it is on wp7 yet, but I see no reason why it wouldn't work as it's just Exchange server) is mail2web, though it isn't free.

I did setup a secondary account to forward email to the primary account. But I couldn't see an option to completely disable junk mail filtering so I could never be sure ALL email was forwarded to the primary inbox for me to filter. And with Live Mail's slow and unreliable POP3 importing from other accounts I didn't trust the secondary account to forward emails as soon as they arrived.
To make sure I was getting all my email from the secondary account I could have added the account to my mobile device but I wanted to keep things simple.

It looks like a Premiere account costs $50 a year,whereas standard free google calendar sync is definitely outlook 2010 32-bit only at the moment. I dont use any aspect of google services currently,so will look at other solutions rather than spending $50 every year.

Nope, all that does is allow you to see a view of windows live mail, contacts, calendar entities within outlook, and use them directly in outlook, in sync.
It does not sync or interact with the default outlook entities that are part of your local pst file.

Google Apps Premier has a free 30 day trial. I've upgraded my wife's account to premier as she prefers to read her email in Outlook. The premier app sync email, contacts and mutiple calendars and even allows Outlook to display the mutiple calendars side by side.
However the OP wanted to sync Outook to Windows Live which can be done free using Outlook Connector instead of paying £40 for a Google Apps Premier account.

You're right, forgot to mention that. But the OP can copy and paste all contacts and calendar entries from the local calendar to the live calendar in one go and from there sync to the phone.
I can live with manually maintaining contacts but i work dynamically with my calendar in local pst via meeting requests, etc. not practical to manually maintain a second calendar. Lets hope either microsoft or google release a free update soon.
Others are finding the same problems as I am. It seems to update the contacts OK if I put a new entry or edit an entry in Outlook. But I am having to update the calendar manually. I really can't believe this is what Microsoft intend - does someone have a way of getting the calendar to sync as well please?
HTC HD7 with WM7 - there is no provision to synchronise with microsoft outlook using Activesync or Windows Mobile Device Centre.

There are some workarounds & a 3rd party app, the solutions have been posted and can be easily found with a simple search (here is a hint, CompanionLink for outlook, Windows Live Connector, Gmail Sync). This is a very hot issue and I suspect there will be more solutions forthcomming

I tried the Hotmail connector, I had some issues, it seemed to have problems dealing with more than 250 contacts. I am using the Demo version of CompanionLink and syncing to my gmail acct and that is working very nicely.

Hotmail/Windows Live is great since it can used through any computer contected to the internet to update contacts, phone numbers, etc. But I could see if this is an issue if you primarily use Outlook.

The problem I have is my company isn't running Exchange so for me to get my calendar and contacts I need a way to sync with Outlook.
I've tried Hotmail Connector and it works well for a one time sync but if you have a lot of changes to your calendar I have to make the changes in Outlook and Hotmail.
I refuse to pay $40 for something that should work out of the box.

Yup. Had all my Outlook contact on my phone the sec I imported the file into Windows Live. I was surprised at how fast everthing setup. I am really like the WP7.

Unfortunately, both are cloud solutions, which are unacceptable to me for both security and privacy.
If the WM7 device were seen as an external storage device (apparently doable via the registry), does anyone know whether this could faciliate a direct USB sync with Outlook 2010 32-bit?
Both solutions are OK for a one off copy of Calender & Contacts but do not perform a true contniuous Sync with Outlook and do not handle TASKS

if you are not ready to play with the cloud, I don't think wp7 is for you. They seem very serious about making the cloud an integral part of the OS going forward.

no microsoft myphone. All syncing goes through your live email address (like hotmail). For me, I had all my contact info on gmail because of playing on android with my hd2.
1. Logged into hotmail
2. clicked on import contacts under the contacts view
3. Clicked on gmail and followed the instructions
Took about 10 minutes.
For outlook I'm pretty sure you can do something similar, though I think you might need outlook connector from the marketplace to bridge it over from outlook to hotmail. You will only have to do this once, but then I guess your outlook will not be a syncable acct on you phone.
Just looked on my hotmail and it says to export your outlook contacts to a file that you can then upload to hotmail.
I'm a Windows Mobile User for 2 years now (SE Xperia X1) and loved the way I can sync it with outlook.
I have all my contacts (approx 500) in outlook and also use the calendar (+5000 items)
I've spent some time in the past to get the info on my contacts straight and I'm very disappointed about the lack of synchronisation options between WP7 and outlook.
Why does everything needs to be cloud-based.
I don't sync every day, but neither use outlook on everyday basis.
I never experienced syncing problems on either calender/notes/contacts or mail.
I have read something about features that will be added in the near future into WP7 and hope that local outlook synchronisation is one of them.

I'm stunned that there is no native support for Outlook synchronization with Exchange - this is old school and what I consider a core component of any smartphone I purchase.
I've just bought a HD7 assuming it would have this functionality (why would I check for this on a Windows phone, next I'll need to check the thing makes calls), guess I'm going to have to sell it on.
There maybe Third party solutions but I can't imagine they're ever going to work as well as a direct sync with the Exchange server in my office, giving Contacts, Tasks, Calendar Items, etc.

Of course there's native support.
If you have an exchange server, you have ZERO to worry about.
The issue is people who use Outlook for Pop and Imap. Or people who just use it for tasks and contacts. Without a Hotmail Connector, there is no way to interface with Outlook like the old school Active Sync did.
Again though, If you have Exchange, it works exactly like it does on any other platform, if not better. The only thing lacking right now is Tasks.

However i cannot afford to lose all my contacts just because stupid Android doesnt synchronize with Outlook!
So i really need a link to a program that either:
1) Synchronizes one's Android 2.3 Device with microsoft outlook
2) Synchronizes one's outlook with one's Gmail account
the program must be free (one way or another ), i dont want to have to pay even more money for something google should have taken care itself.

It has nothing todo with Android or Google
Outlook is an Exchange client, and email client and a PIM (personal information manager), not a mailserver
Android's mail client and contactlists synchs with mailservers that can be reached online - like Exchange - if you dont use Outlook as an Exchange client but as a local PIM only it has no way of syncing with a PIM which is only a local database of information on your PC.
Synching between local PIM's and your Android device can only be done by software on your PC and its not Google's or Android responsibility to provide synching software for your PC for every kind of PIM that exist. This is the responsibility of either the PIM manufacturer or third partys, like phone manufacturers or others. In case of an LG phone synch software is supplied with LG PC Suite, install this and you will be able to synch between Outlook and your phone (not between Outlook and Gmail)
Exporting your outlook contacts to Gmail is very simple if you just want this

I highly recommend you start using Gmail as PIM instead of Outlook - atleast if you want an Android/Google phone and integration with this.

If you want to sync your MS Outlook directly without Google, there should three possibilities/applications which are available legally for free:
1) LG Sync (don't know where to get, pls look at the LG webpage)
2) MyPhoneExplorer (Here)
3) Funambol (Here)

If you want to sync your MS Outlook directly without Google, there should three possibilities/applications which are available legally for free:
1) LG Sync (don't know where to get, pls look at the LG webpage)
2) MyPhoneExplorer (Here)
3) Funambol (Here)

Outlook to Android synchronisation
There is quick developpimg official tool: Android-sync. (As well as I am new here, it is not allowed for me to post a link - so, just add dot com to the "android-sync" and you are there)
It is free, syncing well android with Outlook - not finished.
So far it is syncing contacts (without pics/photos) without any issue, and calendar.
Authors promise to complete this tool with notes and tasks - it started somewhen in this January having cca 3-4 weeks period for new version...
I use it without any issue
LG sync ?3 on stock mobile does this really well. I was also worried about thistoo, but I am syncing at home and work outlook contacts and calander via this. Its on your internal SD card. downloadable too i think.
