Comm Mgr + Applications - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Themes and Apps

Friends,
I looked around on the pocket pc (tilt) and didn't see applications that woud launch independent from using Com Mgr.
Bluetooth,GPS, WiFi, Phone - toggle on/off
Changing my phone to look like the iPhone and comm mgr is a eye sore.
Any ideas?
tvos

I use Chi-Tai's battery status (http://www.chi-tai.info/) which gives you the option for tray icons where you can access phone, BT, WiFi without going through the comm mgr.

i didn't see options to separate functions for bt, wifi, for programs to bring into iFonz.
might have to find separate apps for these.
any other ideas?
tvos

That doesn't do it for you???

what I have been working on is converting my ppc tilt to the iphone theme.
i completely removed the today screen, top/bottom bars and strictly use iFonz for my launcher.
each icon in iFonz will execute separate function like bt on/off, wifi on/off etc.
if you have any other ideas, please advise. all i saw was this app was a today plugin, or a bottom tray for the today screen.
thank you,
tvos

i actually found two apps that are .exe which allows to toggle on/off wifi, bluetooth w/o needing com mgr.
thank you,
tvos

Handles Bluetooth, Audio Gateways, WiFi, InfraRed, Radio (your phone), and GPRS. You've already found apps, though, but this is an alternative (keep that GPS switcher, though)

thanx for the info. so far I really like the BT and how it shows the BT ICON check for on/off. I emailed the programmer asking if they could make one for wifi and phone too..

Comm Manager for Kaiser

Can you easily turn the wifi, 3G, and GPRS radios on/off on the Kaiser or do you have to install a special program to be able to do that? Are there any good comm manager programs out there?
I have one from t-mobile uk and the comm manager that is installed on mine gives you
Flight Mode
Ability to switch phone off and on (without using flight mode)
Bluetooth
Wlan
Microsoft Direct Push
Data Connection
Ringer
Internet Sharing
and ActiveSync
all these can be switched on or off within the comm manager that comes bundled with it.
The gprs can be switched of simply by clicking the icon and it will give you an option to turn it off
Hope this helps
The Kaiser has a commanager, there just isn't a dedicated button for it like there is on other devices. You have to go in to programs in the start menu and click on Comm Manager to activate it.
As you get comfortable with installing cabs and editing the registry, you can get a different comm manager. I use Schen's 10 button comm manager which does have seperate 3G and connection break buttons. Read and learn, this site is the best!

Palm GPS Receiver for Google Maps

Hi!
Does anyone knows how to configure Palm Treo 750 to use Palm Sirf III GPS receiver on Google Maps?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
BT GPS
This is what I did with my BT Freedom Keychain GPS...
Turn on the GPS. Turn on BT, and search. Pair it (using the code provided - 0000 or 1234). Set up a comm port - I chose com8. Open the external GPS application - Start Settings System. Choose a free comm port (I used com0) in the Programs tab, then choose the BT comm port in the Hardware tab (com8 in my example). Under Access, check the box to allow sharing of the BT signal.
Go outside and turn on the GPS. Make sure BT is on, then go to GMM. Select Menu>Use GPS. You should see messages that GPS is initializing, number of sats used, and eventually see a flashing blue dot at your location. If that doesn't work, make sure that under the GPS settings in GMM you're using the first "automatic" setting. If you choose manually, you'll be conflicting with the external GPS app.
Make sense?

Schen's 10 Button 3G Comm Manager??

Can someone attach this or point me in the direction to the download?
Or anything like this would be great! (Preferably with these buttons)
I think that is also called "duttythroy 3g comm manager (working).cab"?! cos this is what I installed on my TyTN and the comm mgr looks the same.
I also think that CAB is available via this forum.
Comm Manager
I installed this and now my comm manager is comletley screwed it only shows 1 icon the active sync icon I uninstalled it and it was stil lthe same it even screwed up the HTC home ! Anyone got any suggestions on how to fix this ?
Try Schap's Advanced Configuration tool. Allows you to control the buttons on your Comm Manager. Available here via search.
Same Issue When using Schaps Advanced Configuration Tool... if any button is increased it only shows one button (ACTIVE SYNC) Button
Try going into task manager & stopping the comm manager first. Make sur it's not running as a process.
Then try this: http://rapidshare.com/files/42771601/JUVS_HTC_CommManager_Kaizer_Fix.cab (Standard)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=44284&d=1184759208 (+3G Button)
After installing, but before launching it, Use the Configuration tool to make sure it shows everything, then reset & launch the comm manager.
Did you guys soft reset... that's probably the problem. If you guys did, then I advise uninstalling the Comm manager, soft reset, then installing it, then soft reset again.
BTW, that's the best comm manager I have ever used, it still lets you use the Wifi turn on and off button ony our keyboard.
I use this version of Schen's 10 button manager on my Kaiser. There is one reg setting needed to fix the wi-fi power key;
Fix WLAN Key function in Comm Manager
You can fix wifi with this registry setting :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SOFTWARE\HTC\CommManager\WLAN
[Default]=”\Windows\WLanMgr.exe"
[DeviceName]="{98C5250D-C29A-4985-AE5F-AFE5367E5006}\TNETW12511"

Which one?
I've just tried this, and I get the new 3G button appearing in the comms panel (with the word 3G underneath, but no icon showing) but it doesn't seem to do anything - should it? I'm running the stock T-mobile Vario III ROM at present.
Oh, and talking of that Wi-Fi on/off function on the keyboard, does anyone know if that, and the 'open folder' key (Fn+RightArrow), can be reassigned? The Wi-Fi one might be handier to use as a Bluetooth on/off function for me, and the 'open folder' key calls File Explorer by default but I'd prefer it to call Total Commander if possible.

Comm Manager 10 - 3G issue/question
I loaded this version, fixed the WiFi registry entry and all worked. After turning off 3G, my phone still functioned. After turning ON 3G, my phone failed to connect and showed no service (due to the fact that I am out of a 3G zone). It appears that this forces 3G mode when it should force AUTO imho. A load of a Version 2.4.3 Band Switch allowed Auto to be re-enabled. See latest Band Switch posts at http://www.ipmart-forum.com/

I do see the same thing with the 3G switch, it's 3G or nothing where it should be "Auto". I too added "Bandswitch" 2.4.3, now a commercial app, and find it good as a enhanced comm manager.

Anyway to make screen auto-flip when opening a certain program?

I want to always view TomTom in landscape mode, is there anyway or anything out there to make the Kaiser automatically go to landscape mode when opening TomTom?
I've got no idea...
Maybe as a temporary solution, you could put a shortcut of the screen rotation next to the TomTom shortcut.
No prob, it can be done by the TomTom settings!
Karsten
Can you point me to the correct place to change this setting?
I found that this option was removed in TomTom 6, however if you can deal with going back to 5 it is in the Settings screen.

Phoneweaver 1.16 Can do something similar. This is an extensive profile program. Create a new profile in the name of the app (i.e. Tom Tom) select enable then edit setting, there are loads to play with from (manual or timed trigger to turning wi-fi on/off etc etc when activated (mute and so on) and at the end it allows you to choose a program to run and what rotation you want (90', 0' or 270') click save. on the today screen click on the plugin and choose the Tom Tom profile and it will rotate the screen, activate any setting you have configured (such as volume, gprs, wi-fi etc) then it will run Tom Tom or whatever other app you want.
Hope this helps.

Bluetooth shortcut / create macro

Seeing as how nobody could help me with the below, how do I capture what process is started/ran when I click on my desired button. Perhaps I can make a custom macro/program that will do what I desire.
-----------------------------------------------
My phone is having issues syncing with my car radio. It only works if I disable and re-enable the gps every time I get in the car. Very annoying.
I discovered that if I just leave BT on, then goto my BT settings(menu->settings->Wireless&Networks->Bluetooth settings->long press my device->options-connect) and connect to my desired device that way it connect much quicker.
This solution is livable, just trying to figure out how to create shortcut icon on desktop of those actions.
Any idea?
Ok, lets try changing the query to see if I can get some help on this.
Use AnyCut from the Market to make direct shortcut.
