Hello ive wounder if there is any way of streaming radio or some software for it. When i use www.neradio.se and click on the "windows" icon it starts but stops and then i get the message "it couldent play" or something like it but nothing more.. I just want to use it
what streaming protocol is used? mms? rtsp? http?
What format is the stream? SHOUTcast/MP3 streams aren't supported by either Windows Media Player Mobile or HTC Streaming Media.
I use GSPlayer to stream MP3 over HTTP/HTTPS (like lastfm). <--shameless self plug
Its .um3 i think .. The file is saved as "listen" and on your normal computer it lookes like an winamp icon.
GSPlayer .. how do i install do i need to transfer all the files to my htc? Worked great after a little bit trying thx your the man.

So it works?
You'd navigate to the web page on pocket IE... or just email yourself the link to the playlist (M3U).
Yeah it works great I tranfered it from bluetooth from my computer love my phone got it yesterday. No manual though but its ok im just to it ... But how about "keylock" do you really need to go in to the powerbottum menu to lock it all up?
You can probably find a user manual in your language on the htc web site.
Holding the end call/red button down for 3-5 seconds will also lock the phone.
Holding the call/green button down for 3-5 seconds while in a call will turn on the speaker phone.
Holding the power button down for 3-5 seconds will shut the phone off.
You can "bind" other shortcuts to various other buttons ("remapping hardware buttons").
Thx for the info.. but when i want to choose my phone on the htc club homepage ... the htc.com then login .. i cant find it :S cant update hardware or they have change it to some other phone?

Access the Comm Manager (check the manual) and you can adjust which radio is on and off from there.
Thanks XDA developers ftw

hi all, well i finally had the courage to upgrade to wm5, i am overall really glad i did it however there are some issues i figured u might help me with.
1. i cant seem to find the device info (the one that shows the radio version ect...)
2.) i heard that wm5 comes with microsoft voice command, however i cant find it either.
3.) when i connect to the gprs i have to softreset to shut it off i was wondering if there is another way to shut it off without reseting.
thanks all
1. You need to see this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=27614 and the file you are looking for is ba_wm5_fix_v1.rar. This adds Device Info to your control panel as well as other apps like the ability to turn down your screen brightness, etc and some reg fixes to help speed up the little beast. There are some other files there too like a patch to get the camera working.
2. You heard wrong
3. Afraid I cant help you with as im having problems atm just getting my GPRS to connect, let alone disconnect. But this I can wait for since I have wireless access at home and at work.
Hope i've been some kinda help.
EDIT:
3. Got my GPRS working and I can disconnect be pressing and holding the call disconnect button for a few seconds.
great thanks a lot much faster and all the errors seem to be solved cheers!

Does the alpine has wifi? Can i use hotspots? I've checked the apps that come with the alpine and i don't know if i have the necessary app to do so.
I have WM2003SE.
Thanks a lot.
Yes, you should have a blue aerial icon 2nd from the right on the bottom of the screen. Click that or rtfm.
[edit] ... and please do not double post.
I only have the bluetooth icon on the bottom of the screen... what's rtfm?
Thanks
depro
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rtfm
Well if you dont have the Wireless Manager Icon, do you have Wireless Manager in Start->Programs.
If not are you sure that you have an Alpine ?
yes it is an Alpine. I bought it used through ebay. The OS was tempered with and there's no Start->Programs->wireless manager. I only find in \windows a "wifiicon.exe". I try to open it but nothing happens. I think some app is missing. If you can point me to which one...
thanks
depro
what u need to do
You need to download pugs rom and reflash your xda mate
That sounds like good advice.
Thanks for the replies. After flashing i'll need a SD wlan card right?
depro
No it has built in wifi adapter so no extra card required
thanks. I'll try sort things out without flashing the beast
is there a simple way to check if your built-in wlan device is working properly? I have the "socket wlan tools mobile edition" but when I try to turn the radio on nothing happens, I also installed the "hitchhicker" and i get a message error saying I don´t have a wlan device... what the heck?!
Thanks again

I as the master of simplicity instead of trying to fix this by way of trial and error, etc, etc, I would just download a updated rom and flash my xdaIIi, then re-install everything again except for the stuff that made the **** hit the fan in the first place
So basically in 30 minutes you can solve your problem by doing that
Hi all,
I've searched and searched for this but can't find an answer.
YouTube used to work by opening up TCPMP, but it now it ties to run using Media Player (which obviously doesn't work)
I've checked the file associations in TCPMP and they are set-up as 'Flash Video' and 'MMS Protocol', which I think should work, but I still get the videos running with MP.
Can anyone help with this?
Thanks guys,
Ratzz
EDIT: Could this be because I'm now using Opera???

yes.......
oh... bugger!
My IE no longer works, thats why I use Opera.
Does anyone know of a bug with IE that wont connect - all i get are blank pages...
was having these same exact issues i think last week, youtube (which i barely bother with) now tries to open in MP no matter what i do, i think its the new mobile page, i did load up the regular youtube page as an experiment because i have been messing with tmpg as you stated you did too. But youtube just sucks w/ this phone, more then half the videos have never played for me so i quickly grew frustrated and closed the page.
Not sure what the deal is with this.. but yes ive experienced the same ****.
Also for about 2 days last week internet explorer was not working for me.
The gps battery drain is getting old, the friggin car charger they sell you will barely run the thing w/ one app open if your battery is dead, nevermind charge it. I drove all the way to work *(40mins at least) this morning and had nothing running my battery charged one little tiny line farther then it was.
Im sure someone has noticed this, its a pain in the ass for the crappy service but if you reset your phone your mobitv trial will be good again.
I bought the service and am not impressed.

Open IE go to Menu>view. Make sure "Desktop" and "Show Pictures" are unchecked it. Turn your phone off (Do not soft reset it) turn it back on.
Then open IE go to Menu>view ; and check "Desktop and Show Pictures".
That is all. You'll have IE working again.
Same problem happened to my couple times. This way really worked for me.
Good luck.
For what it's worth, I'm using opera 8.65 and using that to view gopckt.com. TCPMP with the .flv plugin (mms protocol and flash video checks) is working fine. Youtube clips download and save perfectly well on my 8gb micro sd card.
Ok I have a brand new kayser and I have 2 newbie questions about this model and one envolving all mobiles. Here we go:
1. I have the original vodafone ROM, when i play mp3's (wether on the MP ou Audio Manager) and press the power button (in order to turn off the screen) the music stop's, i mean, it doesnt keep playing... My older prophet and tytn I had this function of powering off the screen but the music would still play. Is this a ROM issue or hardware issue?
2. I've tried almost everything on the phone, except the GPS module, that I dont know if it works. Is there a program i can install just to pick up some satellites and see if it works? (i dont want tomtom and igo whatever because i dont have an sd card big enough for them )
Now the general porpuse one. My friend with an HTC Prophet had a problem with its phone, the vibration suddenly stoped working. We took it to the warranty and they repaired it. On the service point he was told that it had happened due to the vibrations the phone was put on, i mean, when hes driving he has that support on the windshield to put the PDA working as a GPS. It is true that it gets some vibration from driving and the car engine itself... but can this cause these king of problems?

1. try to use another player, there are a lot of them that are better then the default ones(wmp, audiomanager)
2. many apps like: gps test, gps tool, ....
3. I think there are thousands of people that are using their phones like your friend and they havent got problems with vibration. So for me its just a absurdity.

Which ones do you recommend? Does this happen with you? (the situation i mentioned?)
1. pressing the power button dont just blank the screen
it suspect the whole device to save power so yes it stops
programs
most players got options to blank screen when listning to music
some players does seem to be able to run while in suspend mode
just like the clock

I like Pocket music bundle, but its not a freeware. There is an option to play the music after hitting the power button.
I didnt realize that it stops playing music when u put the phone to sleep mode, so yes its happing to me also.
TCPMP or coreplayer. There's an option to map a button to turn screen off.
Two silly answers

Well my HTC branded TyTN II with original WM 6.0 ROM as per sig and with default settings keeps playing mp3s when the screen is blanked in this way so all I can suggest is it may be due to a configuration change made or the ROM itself. If you cant find any config changes, have a look at additional files put on your storage card by WMP in your music folder. When I was using WM 6.1 I found that version of WMP put a file associated with powersaving in there, not sure about the vodafone ROM though. WM 6.0 keeps it's own files in the right place and out of my music folder.

If you have data capability & don't mind paying for the data, Google Maps or MS Live Search are free. Personally I prefer Tomtom Navigator 6.032 (HTC version) but I found WM 6.0 and it's radios work far better than WM 6.1 for GPS and Tomtoms UK tech support line told me TTN 6 wasn't supported under WM 6.1, only WM 6.0! Don't know about the last issue and I suspect the best person to comment with knowledge about the cause of the problem and how to stop it recurring, would have been the tech staff who fixed it.
Does anyone know if that is possible? It would be cool to just use it as a media player when I have my sim card in my main phone.

That should work. You can use the phone as stand alone media player and you can browse the web as well and do many things as long as you are connected to your wifi.

Cool thanks, just making sure because I don't want to buy the device and have it be a useless $900 device.
it will still work..
but if u tap on the "phone" tile and other apps which requires phone connection then a pop-up will appear to tell u that there is not sim card..
