Everytime I switch on my phone, the keypad locks up. I have to press the "Unlock" menu on the bottom left of the screen and then hit unlock again. I find this to be annoying. Any way to get rid of this?
Thanks a million.
Go to START -> SETTINGS -> PERSONAL -> TODAY -> ITEMS and uncheck "Device Lock" I believe if you don't have it as an item on your today screen, it won't boot up. However, don't take my word for it 100% , I never had this problem.

Any other ideas?
Take a look at your installed programms
Battery Status Includes such an auto keylock
This is why this community is awesome!!
I've been trying to figure this out for days! Thanks a million. It worked!!!!
I ran into this same problem i was about to do something unholy to it! So yes check the battery status plug in..LOL
I use S2U2 for a keyboard lock.. It's nice and pretty, and has some nice previews of upcoming appointments, etc, but it's pretty heavy on ram. But I haven't seen anything as quick to unlock.
CSDEVCTRL by chrisstavrou is a great locking program. It is excellent for in-call locking and temporary unlocking during the call. It locks ALL buttons during a call, unlike many other lockers, so that when you're on a call and your phone is in your holster or pocket, it doesn't hang up by accident.
It has three different ways to unlock the screen: a tapping sequence, slide-to-unlock, and a button sequence. The slide and tap features can also be set to do up to four different things, such as slide-to-unlock, slide-to-hang-up, slide-to-open-speaker, slide-to-go-to-today.
It also offers many small bonuses, like a simple call blocker, bluetooth tweaks, backlight tweaks, and carrier name tweaks.

It's not like S2U2 in the sense that it doesn't have any sort of screen saver or visible skin. When I look at my phone, I see the same thing whether or not it is locked (I use SPB Mobile Shell 2.1, so I see the "Now" screen.)
Just go to the link I posted earlier, and you'll find all the info there!

How is the app that is included in Faria & et al ROM called? One to set speed dial on the today screen
thanks
Personally, I like it. Only thing is that it's too easy to dial and I'm afraid that I'm going to end up making a lot of accidental phone calls, so I've had to turn it off. If there was a way to change it so that it requires a doubletap or better yet a tap and hold to choose dial from the menu then I think I would be able to keep it.

Hello
I am a new owner of an att tilt. I believe it is the same as the tytnII. I am looking for two cabs to install on my phone.
1) a cab that lets me assign a button to switch between vibrate, silent, and ring. I found vibra switch, but it does not include silent.
2) a cab or program that allows me to assign a call log feature to a button. I use the call log quite frequently on my old phone.
Thank you for anyone that can give a newbie a suggestion
Adam
both of those can easily be accessed without cabs.
1- if you have the htc home screen, just press on the symbol that looks like a phone with a music symbol beside it, and it'll give you the option of switching profiles
2- just click the green talk button and then press up on the dpad
want the button press
Thank you for the response.
I have not tried htc homescreen yet. It appears to have a large clock and a tab system of the today screen that I am not fond of. Am I able to leave the today screen basically like it is with that program?
Also I want to be able to map these functions to a button. The reason for this is for easy access while driving. I feel a button press and using the jog wheel is a lot more accurate and requires less attention.
Thank you
Adam Birozy
Does anybody know how to change the setting for the dialpad during a phone call? I need to have the dialpad on all the time, even during a phone call.
Thanks.

Hi,
KaiserTweak can do it:
Call -> disable both "Fast Sleep" and "Sleep" options!
Try this great application, with many other tweaks!
PS: Nex time, however, use better the forum "search" feature!!
Ciao
Thanks for your help. But I have KT installed and the first two settings are disabled. The only thing it did was solve the phone going black after 10 seconds. My dialpad is still replaced by the status page. And I need to have the dialpad up all the time.
I also check the registry settings that KT changes, and they were changed. So I don't know if this is an issue with my phone or all Kaisers.
Any registry tweak that you know?
oh, i get it........you mean the keypad dont you?

Ok, sorry, but i didn't well understand your bug, or requirement!!
What do you mean for "Status page"??
Can you post some screenshot?
Sorry, again, dude
don't need screenshots, i understand now!
But only one question: after you start a call can you tap the left softkey and show the dialpad? if so, you would like to always show the dialpad tab, and not the status page, also when the call start without pressing any key, right??

I believe this is exactly what he meant, and I for one would like to know also.
Dom; that's exactly what I meant. 99% of my calls I make through my pbx, and because of that, I need to keep inputing numbers. The fact that I need to click on the "show keypad" on every call is annoying and dangerous (when I am driving). Yes, the show key pad is on the left corner, but it would be more convenient to have it on all the time, and when and if I need the status page, I would press the show status page button.
I am sorry I was not clear on my first post.
Thanks.
Does anyone knows if the password prompt after waking the devise can be changed? I had my corporate email set on my Nexus and the password prompt is annoying me every time i would like to change it like to prompt after 5 or 10mins is possible.
Are you on CM6? There are new settings to control the lock out time.

Yes I am on CM6 where are these settings? I been all over but can't find them.
Edit: Found the lock out time, what I like is to avoid the time it takes once locked to ask for password.
I am looking for this as well.
CM Settings > User Interface > Screen Timout Delay
"How long to delay before enabling screen lock when screen times out"
.......
Alternatively you can use the Power Controls widget and choose the "Screen lock" to do it manually.

I think we may be talking about two different things.
I have a pin lock set up. After the screen turns off its quite a pain to type in a 7 digit number each time. I'm looking for a way to continue to keep the slide to unlock screen when the screen turns off, but to delay the actual pin/pattern lock for x amount of minutes

The slide to unlock and pin are joined at the hip. You can't have one without the other. (this was stated by android team member and it will not be changing anytime soon as it's a security issue).
If you use the settings I pointed to you can delay the lock combo altogether for X amount of time. Use the top for when the screen turns off by itself, and the bottom one for when you manually press the power button to turn the screen off.
(I know this because I use a pin code as well, and I just tested it)
I supposed you could pester someone over at CM and they'll look into decoupling it.
You can download an app from the market to disable/enter your password for you if you dont like having to enter it everytime you wake the phone. I personally use an app called Lockpicker so i dont have to type in my exchange email password everytime I wake my phone. Just a suggestion.

I like your suggestion, because our Draconian IT policies force us to use a password after wake always. I will look for the app now.
Thanks a lot.
Edit: this doesn't work with Froyo. Bummer.

I see. I tried what you suggested and it is what i was looking for. I just have a habit of turning off the screen with the power button and never configured the second setting. Thanks for pointing that out!
I for some reason am unable to press the bottom left hand corner of the screen, which unfortunately is exactly where the dialer button is and now I can not press numbers for in-call options. Any way I can change this screen w/o flashing? im on Xtrsense now and would like to stay with it. Thanks a lot I have metamorph and amon-ra.
Maybe another dialer option from the the Market like this?: http://www.androlib.com/android.application.kz-mek-dialerone-iApD.aspx
I've never used it, but it gets good reviews, and looks like the only thing you would be missing would be the * then on the bottom left. Hope this helps...
