TyTN II VGA / chipset drivers to be released this month - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

http://msmobiles.com/news.php/7334.html
We know it from good source that this month, possibly already next week, HTC will release ROM update for HTC TyTN II that will ship with improved graphics drivers and will offer improved performance.

Hopefully this is what we've all been waiting for, but I'm sitting on the fence. If it is the correct drivers I have faith in the community that they can reverse engineer it to work with not just the unbranded HTC but all variants.
We'll have to wait and see!

Appreciate the enthusiam, but this has been posted and discussed several times already:

The European style of writing dates is to put the day of the month first, then the month, then the year (dd/mm/yyyy). Backwards from us Americans with our mm/dd/yyyy, but more logical. So those aren't dates in the future, they're all dates in may that are a few days past.

Sorry, my bad! I normally use that as a synonm for 'graphics', obviously falsely!
Sorry about not noticing the other threads either, XDA Dev moves pretty quickly and I saw this news, did a quick search, didn't see anything mentioned on it so thought I'd open a thread to discuss this
Also from HTC Class Action more recent news:
Q (All About Phones): What about the driver/rom-update for the TyTN II and other pda's by HTC ?
A (Mark Moons, HTC): I can confirm we will release a ROM-update for the TyTN II this month which will solve and improve most issues. This will also be a 6.1 update so the TyTN II will be completely up to date. I cannot confirm this for other devices.

ease up ass pirate...
the infamouse "update" will not be a driver. the latest news is that its going to be a rom update (an exe) which will include a "fix" for current owners of the htc TyTN II (oem, not att version).
note that htc has never officially announced this at all, and a fix, a rom update, or anything regarding the video and display issues may ever be addressed. this has always been speculation

Hey, Please respect all members, even ones who are yelling. They are yelling to make a point. Calling Someone an "ass pirate" violates the policy around here. Be good, or be gone.

So the HTC Touch Diamond 2 is upgradable to Windows 6.5. Anyone know when this is due to be released by HTC?
I have searched and cant find a definitive answer. Sorry for this 'noob' question!
Cheers!
{edited the title to not confuse people with thinking this was an announcement rather than a question}
Don't have any sources and this is only speculation from other people but rumors are september.

don't you lose your warranty when you use a rom or am I going crazy?
btw my phone isn't through any phone company, I bought the phone outright and kept on using my current plan.

[Kernel Source]

So I guess Htc/VZ decided to release the source: http://member.america.htc.com/download/RomCode/Source_and_Binaries/incrediblec_cc1c2268.tar.bz2
good luck.

We have been down this road before with several other devices...
HTC has ALWAYS released the source code....within a few months or so.
You can email all you want, but your going to get generic responses, and its going to be released anyways.
The phone is only available for pre-order and its not even the 29th yet...so give them sometime.
Cheers!
Will having the kernel source for the Incredible make rooting the device easier because of the potential for "work arounds".
From what Paul is saying over at Modaco, it seems HTC is going out of their way to make the Desire and Incredible "more secure"... which means locking down bootloader, kernel, etc. More of a pain for rooting... agh!

Glad to see you getting involved...
We blasted HTC before with thousands of emails, and even got News sources involved, but since all that they have always released the source codes within a few months or so.
Cheers!
Droid Eris was released on 11/6/09; kernel source code is still not released.

I should have been more clear. I was referring too 2.1, but since that's not technically released on the eris yet, my whole post is wrong.
Nothing to see here, move along!

LOL...good job catching yourself
My my I think it worked. Congrats!!
Its a marketing strategy because they know people are going to mod it anyway, so this way if people mod it, they are more inclined to stay with the device and HTC.

Yes but the point he was making is that you should have used search button as this is old news and a topic exists and been discussed already so no need to re-create one for same discussion.
We are all waiting for a rom to leak or be officially released.

Well either you are lying or you used keywords like "Cartoon" and "flowers" because I just used search button with keyword "Australia" and had no problem at all finding the topic...
Optus (Australia) testing Gingerbread
Fair enough its about a different carrier but no need for separate topic for each carrier.
