Strange keyboard problems

Hi everyone
Have noticed a couple of strange problems while using the slide out keyboard on my kaiser.
Whenever im typing anything and i press the space key it will sometimes put the space after the first letter of the next word instead of between the two words, so the first letter of the next word is now stuck on the end of the last word! (did my best at describing that!)
And also sometimes when i press the delete key it will delete whats in front instead of whats behind so i then have to press the function key to change it back.
Has anyone else experienced either of these problems?

Have you even used the SEARCH function?
Are you using a stock or cooked ROM? I'm going to assume you're running a custom ROM, since I've seen this problem being described several times in regard to custom ROMs.

Yes i have used the search function and found nothing thats why im asking, thanks for asking though.
At the moment im using duttys april 29th rom but have noticed on most of the roms ive used apart from the stock one i think.

Don't worry, this sermon isn't personally directed to you, but to all those asking already answered questions. I just can't help it sometimes.

had exactly the same problems as youre describing, was about to ditch duttys rom for a new one ... but i'll try this first
surely this affects more users? oh well i've not seen the topic come up , thanks for the advice trying now

Speeding up Keystroke?!

Please do not throw rocks at me. I tried searching in the forum and in google. Not sure if I'm wording it correctly. But anyway, when I'm using the QWERTY keyboard I'm having trouble w/ typing. I usually have to go by to some words and seperate them. I don't know if it's the speed of the keystroke that I should be worrying about or using more force pressing each key.
I hope I make sense.

Are you using a stock or cooked ROM? Try disabling the word suggest and XT9 (if your ROM supports it). I still have the occasional issue with misplaced spaces or double letters, but it's very minor.

I'm using a cooked ROM. It is a minor problem, but sometimes I don't like going back and fixing things. =/

I have a similar problem on my keyboard. The only complaint I have is that I use a clip on my Kaiser. They should have put the space bar a little bit higher because when I type I don't space so I end up writing like this..
Howw as yourd ay . Gets annoying because I have to go back and space and delete.
My major problem is, and i'll try to explain as best as I could.
On your PC keyboard, if you press the INSERT key and you press space it'll delete any words after. When I'm typing on my TILT i go to backspace and it won't let me. It could be in IE, WORD, text messaging etc. I have to highlight what I want to delete and then press the delete button. Sometimes if i'm typing and lets say I type "Educated" but I missed the "C". If I tap in the middle with stylus and try to type in the "C" it'll delete my "A","T", depending on how many times I press a button on my keyboard. Very annoying. Any fix.

Same EXACT issue. Thought I was retarded. Glad to hear that others are having the same issue.
Anyone have a a fix for this? It is EXTREMELY annoying. I'm using Dutty's April 29th 6.1 ROM.

OH WOW! i dont feel alone in this world! and i'm not the only one that think typing this: "Howw as yourd ay . Gets annoying because I have to go back and space and delete." Is an annoyance!!
Ok. How do we get this fixed? LOL.

It's dutty's rom. has a little issue with it, i've noticed it also.

Its not just dutty's rom, most of the latest builds have this issue. I however, am not experiencing this any longer.

Are you sure? Have you tried other ROM's and not experieced this "phenomenom"? If so, what other ROM's have you tried?

I started having that issue sometime after mid-april. However, over the past few days I've been trying new roms out and I noticed that Laurentius26 May 19th rom and shogunmark May 23 deathv2 beta release hasn't had this issue. Therefore, I am making the assumption that it was either caused by a program i was installing, which I am not installing anymore (However, since others have this issue I cannot base my assumption on an application I was installing), or the problem is arising because of the builds that are/were being used.
I have tried countless roms.

I just noticed that the two roms I mentioned above both use At&t 19213 build

Btw LOL @ notatreofan being all nice and everything. Lol. Put a picture of a female as your avatar if you are going to create a "redundant thread". Lol not that this is redundant. JK about that avatar thing also.
Anyway, I've had Schaps 4.31 for a while first ROM i flashed been happy with it. I have to search for those two roms and see what they include. It bugs me because I have to type slow ass hell just to make sure it's accurate. I master typing while not looking and driving at the same time. It's a buzzkill. Help anyone!

I have been having the same issue in my Tilt. Using the Apr 29th dutty rom, and upgrading to the latest may 22nd rom seemed to have helped it a great bit. although still not gone completely. And all programs that were installed on the 29th rom and the 22nd rom are the same set. So it does seem to be a rom / radio issue.

The problems with slow keystrokes is usually in ROMS that have a XT9 keypad installed, such as one of dutty's hybrid ROMs or any with the new Diamond keyboard package. If you download and install the "disable xt9" cab that is around here on some ftps and such, it will solve the problem.

I've always had XT9 disabled and still confronted this problem when using particular roms. Does that cab do the trick mviana?

That cab worked well for me. I just typed a little in Word Mobile and sent a text message. I'll report back a little later if you'd like.
Off topic, how is that Shogunmark ROM working out for you?

Is there a way to do this so i can use T9 on the Diamond Keypad but disable T9 on hardware keyboard so i don't get the space lag?

Right soft key

Hi i have a kaiser on Uk orange. the right soft key says 'Go To ...' ttry as i may i can not change it at all. i have tried FdcSoft SoftkeyAppletEx, Key swop, Advanced Config and even editing the registry at Hkey_current_user\software\microsoft\today\keys\113 (where they have two extra keys called 'mem1' and 'mem2'.) however whichever method i try the key always resets itself back to 'Go To'
Does anyone have any ideas how i can try and change it at all?

Thats strange, I always use advanced config for that and its working like a charm.

if youur on orange chances are youve got that crappy side bar on. go to settingsstart - settings - today - go to the second tab laballed ITEMS then untick the orange item. when you go back to your today screen contacts should be on the right

Yeah that did it cant believe how long it has taken to find that out, however is there any way i can get the sidebar back (not necessarily that one but an alternate one) as its really useful to have that stuff on the screen.

you might want to consider the htc home plugin it shows time sms phone links to other apps and it customisable

I am what? Um, I am slow today but I dont get this. I have some HTC Home cabs yeh but havent released any in my corner. Only thing I have there is a hotfix for Leo`s V9 who was bugging some of the light users thats all.

Aha! I follow now, after a cup of coffee and youre explenation its all good
About the HTC Home, no I dont have it in my corner. I have some modified Diamon style tweaked for some of the dialers but havent made a cab of it since there is floating several around in here already. I might whanna have a go skinning one if I come up whit a kewl idea though. I am working on a SPB Theme atm (well not now, vacation atm. But will continue that project once back home), after that I have planned to make a cab/guide whit a nice theme for ultimatelaunch. And I also have promised a icon pack and some animations and on top of that I am eager to get back and work whit Leo on future projects. So it is kinda tight program for hobby timeline, but if you got a certain wish you could request it in my corner and who knows what happends from there and out

Home button Fix - by Hankv2

I am reposting the message of Hankv2 for those having issue in using Home button for Rhodium Roms - I have installed the Cab made by Hankv2 in Dutty's V2.2 rom and it is working perfectly. So far no bugs or issues. Thanks a lot Hankv2

Why another thread? There is already one for ideas around solving the homebutton issue and Hankv2 has already posted it there. A bit unnecessary in my opinion, it makes more sense that the solution(s) are in one place.

The fact that you wouldn’t have found it otherwise is a bit unbelievable considering there is a current running thread for it, but I guess some people haven’t got the time/interest to read them.

in the new version of manilla, in the start menu there are 4 options for home, people, calendar and settings. this fixes some apparent issue with the one for home (i think...)

I have Dutty's 3.7 installed, but I see no 4 options. can you elaborate, please? no need to be shy - it is allowed to post more that one sentence...

FN key brings up capslock :(

When I press FN it brings up caps.
This is with energy rom.

You need to find the keyboard fix for your device. There are several different (Tilt 2/T-Mobile USA/etc.) layouts for the keyboard on the Rhodium aka Touch Pro2.

You can also use "Keyboard Controller" to rebind your keys if you'd like to expand and customize it further

Actually if you look in the main Energy thread, Post #6 says:
Wrong physical keyboard configuration: If you are using AT&T or T-Mobile, and you are experiencing issues with the physical keyboard key configuration (FN not working, for example), you need to run the Carrier Provisioning that can be found at Start > Tools. Another alternative is to use a key remapper program such as this one.
