Freeze on boot screen - P3600 Software Upgrading

Hello,
Today my vibrator goes mad, so I decided to send my phone back (I still have the warranty).
In order to proceed, I have to put back the official SFR ROM, and luckily I found this link on the wiki : ftp://xda:[email protected]/Uploads/Trinity/SFR_S300+_ROM_French_1.23.163.2_Only_OS.rar
So I did a little backup of all my data, I take off the memory card, and I started the installation.
But at 9%, it bugs. Hopefully, the ROMUpdateUtility display a message that I have to put off and put in the USB cable, and retry the installation. Its seems that works, because the transfer was complete and the phone reboot automatically .
But when the phone reboot, it display the classical boot screen SFR Bonjour, show some numbers (M 05 - B 05 - D 1.23 - R 1.50.08.11 - G 32.83.7020.20h) and when this numbers disappear the phone freeze.
I've try to wait half an hour, but the SFR boot screen stay, and the phone didn't respond to anything (I've try to put the power cable, and the LED set on only if the phone is off). I have to put off the battery to turn off the phone.
If somebody could help me, please!
And excuse me if I made any mistake, english is not my native language.

I have the same issue......
I have the same issue, my SPVM700 just sits on the initial splash screen after I tried to re-flash it to the original Orange ROM [as I too had to return it for a warranty repair]. I used Mozzer's Orange ROM [http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=309959] to restore it - the procedure looked the same as with other ROMs I had successfully loaded but it was only when I tried to restore the official MNO ROM that my Trinity bricked.
I can access the bootloader screen [TRIN100 IPL-0.50, SPL-9.99CP] and can flash the device, where the progress bar always reaches 100% on the PC and the PDA and then the PDA automatically reboots, however, it does not advance past the splash screen.
I have tried the Hard-SPL fix [ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299659 ] and then re-flashed the device with other ROMs that I had tried previously [Schaps, AX3L, HTC Official WM5 P3600 ROM etc..] but still get no joy - is there something that I should have done prior to re-loading the original ROM that I have missed and is my Trinity now forever a brick?

you've presumably tried a hard reset? but it's not written above so i thought i'd just check.. (pressing two soft reset buttons and pushing the stylus in the reset hole?)

Yes I did try a hard reset even though I didn't expect much from it as I had just replaced the ROM [effectively wiping the ROM and replacing it with a different ROM] and none seemed to boot. Once the device has started booting up, the only way to switch it off is to disconnect the battery [and the only way to switch it back on is to soft reset] so I am guessing there is a hardware issue caused by returning the device to the Original MNO build as this was the ROM upgrade that trashed the device - other ROMs tested prior to this had loaded successfully.

Sorry to bring this back but since the link is in Behemot's sig, it is not resolved yet. Have you guys loaded SSPL before flashing? If you haven't, the OEM Rom won't boot with HardSPL. Try flashing another custom Rom and use this method before flashing the Shipped Rom.
Good luck.

ask ilos for original SFR rom or search for extenue SFR rom. or contact me by personal message and give me your mail i have the SFR ROM without radio ROM (you can get the radio on this forum)...

Sorry, I've forget to update this thread...
So, for me the only solution was to bring back the device to an SFR store (it is still under warranty).
I believed they would reproach me that the RADIO was not the original one or something like that, but no. They didn't make any remark and send my device back with an official SFR ROM.
The only thing is that they take more than a month instead of the traditional two weeks to fix it.
So all is ok for me.
I hope you will solve your problem

Think I have killed my dad's phone !! HELP

Was updating my dads SPV M700 to WM6 and have hit a problem ....
The rom image updated ok, and I used AX3L's 2.0.8.
Unfortunately during the GSM update the software crashed, and froze at 51%. I had to re-boot and now I can't use the phone.
When I re-set the phone it says No GSM at the HTC screen and then stops loading at the WM6 front page.
I can get into the Bootloader by pressing the Power/Camera/Reset buttons, but when I try to re-flash GSM is says error 270, corrupt image. I have tried several files with no luck.
I would appreciate a hand ..... My dad is going to kill me
Thanks
gaz_az
try press
power button + camera + reset
to enter usb mode
then reflash the radio again.
hope this works
You can try 2 other things!
Download the Radio ROM again- you may have had a downlaod glitch in the 1st one. V1.38 is the best one to try.
Download and install the offical HTC WM5 ROM- this should be a full ROM including Radio, so sometimes completes more effectively. If you are brave, you can them retry the WM6 flash!
since bricking a hermes i stopped taking chances doing rom upgrades via usb..
the method that is most reliable ad safe is... via SD card
extract RUU_signed file from the upgrade pack (use winrar) and then copy it to the root of a blank sd (mini or micro etc) and rename to TRINIMG.nbh ..enter bootloader and follow the steps.. its fast and most reliable
Ok - Thanks for the help, but no luck so far. I have tried the suggestions above !
Heres what I have done ...
Hard reset - no change
Tried to re-flash with WM6 and WM5 cooked roms, but an error comes up saying the images are corrupt. This happens with any image I try.
I have also tried a legit HTC WM5 rom upgrade image, but it doesn't work either. It gives an error at 1% saying invalid device ID.
What I can do it get into the standard bootloader screen, which shows I have a USB connection when plugged in. If I allow the phone to boot up it stops at the WM6.0 picture. It won't go far enough to allow me to get an activesync connection.
ANy more adivice would be greatly appreciated !

Next thing then, is to try and obtain a downloaded Orange M700 ROM- there are a few links hereabouts.
For some reason, your device seems to want only its home ROM. If that fails there are other methods before sending back to Orange!
I downloaded an Orange rom, but still no luck. It gets to 1% again, then says there is a error/corrupt image file. Same as any of other cooked images !
What next ??
well if you were my son, i would advice you,to buy a plane ticket for somewhere very far, leave the house while i sleep, and pray every day you have left in your life, for not find you on my way
uhm, question about boot loader and flash on boot loader mode.
I copy file TRINIMG.nbh to root card mini SD, and i can't go as you say...
always Tri colors screen....

You are running out of options
Your choices now are to go further down the 'fiddling' route, or give up and return the phone to Orange for repair. At least if its is stuck in bootloader, they may not spot that you have been meddling
If you want to play more, there are very few Trinity specific fixes, but possibly some of the questions/answers in the Hermes WiKi may help, though the Bootloader versions etc won't be relevant.
[Edit: When you are in Bootloader mode, what version numbers are showing on the screen?]
is it so wrong i was smiling when i read this.
does make me wonder if u told ur dad what u were going to do or whether u were trying to be cocky by giving him a better phone without him knowing.
all i can say is, UNLUCKY !
I must say things are looking bad - I think it would take an original orange SPV rom if I could get one. Been to the orange website, but no luck !! Anyone know if orange released one ??
Been looking at the Hermes unbrick thread. Is there a way to enter KITL debug mode in the trinity ??
G
P.S. Dad knew I was upgrading the phone, already did it once for him and it went ok. No sure he knew I could acutually kill it
No Orange haven't released an official rom.
Well Orange UK haven't Orange FR have, so unless he speaks and reads french that's not an option.
Well, French or not, you've probably got nothing to lose by trying to load the official French ROM
Go Here and click the Mise-a-jour link (which is French for ROM) and it will open a zip file download without the need to verify the IMEI number.
If that doesn't work, nothing will! If it does load, you will at least have a working phone, even if it is in French, and you can go back over the ROM update again, remembering to apply the SPL Bootloader first!
Still "not allow", i don't know what the hell Orange was doing with P3600?
Lock everything?........it's suck !!!
No luck with the French ROM. Same thing gives an error message about wrong device ID.
I am one step from chucking it in the bin. Any more last minute ideas ??
erh, bizzard,i can't use "wtty.exe" to view my CID ...
i tape "info 2"and it always appear
Cmd>info 2
CID: Wait interpreter timeout
HTCSF kEØ(HTCE
Cmd>
...............................
Someone have issue for that?
If i can view CID code,i think i can find the right ROM to re-vivre...all suck !!!
erh, hey guy, your boot loader is english or french? sorry if it's the most stupid question of the day......i think french device use french boot loader, right?
i mean, when screen tri-color appear, use mini SD card to flash ROM, the language it apprear itself is english or french.
p/s : i was telephone to the HTC center, and they say as usual, send it to the center repair.
For french user address is : be sure u have enough garanty which required.
send them and make them crazy.....

thank anyway,i will try it before tomorrow, cause i will send them my device for repair.

Clarify I am doing this right before downgrading

Hi all,
I recently got a G4 T-Mobile MDA and flashed it with Molski's WM6 ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=412845.
I did this by using the instructions at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=394218
Everything went fine and my Wizard was happily upgraded and all was fine.
Unfortunately, I had an active syunc failure and had to soft-reset the Wizard. It would then boot up, tell me the IPL/SPL, etc. and then hang at the splash screen. I cannot hard-reset the phone, and I can enter the bootloader.
From what I can tell, I need to downgrade to the carrier ROM, and that should see me right. As I didn't unlock my phone with HardSPL (only SoftPSL, can I just:
Fully Charge Wizard
Reflash carrier ROM using the same instructions I used
Enter bootloader
Fully charge the Wizard
Follow the instructions (using softSPL and the update utility) I used origionally to flash the carrier ROM
I then should be back where I started and I can re-flash Molski's in.
Is this the correct proceedure?
As I SoftSPL flashed my Wizard, do I need to revert back to the carrier ROM or can I try to reflash Molski's to see if that corrects the problem?
I am sorry to be a pain and ask this, I have read alot and am pretty sure I need to do this. I have read in the forum a few times that if you aren't sure, ask. I hope this is OK.
Thinking of using the T-Mobile ROM in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=342744
Thanks all!
Note:
IPL/SPL 2.21.0001
GSM 02.07.10
OS 11.0.0.1
Well,as you upgraded with SoftSPL,no patched IPL/SPL was flashed and the original official Bootloaders are booting the device, therefore, there's no need to flash the official rom using SoftSPL,it can be flashed directly without any problem.
Secondly,it won't charge in Bootloaders (IPL/SPL) and untill and unless there's a working OS on the phone,so try to charge the battery through other means, like with a friends phone or buy a cradle.
As you are already in Bootloaders, coz your phone boots up and stuck at Bootloaders, you can flash any rom in this mode, but you can always enter into Bootloaders by pressing Camera button and soft reset together simultaneously.
Yes! you can still reflash any custom rom using SoftSPL,even this Molski's WM6 ROM in this situation wiyhout any hassel.
Nopes, its not neccesary to first flash official carrier's rom and than flash any custom rom,you can still flash to any custom build through SoftSPL.
BTW!!! why don't you try a Hard Reset,it may clear the stuck up and load into working OS,you can Hard Reset by Comm Manager button + Voice Command button + Soft Reset with stylus,it'll hard reset and reboot, check if this works out, otherwise go as above.
Thanks zabardast_1.
I did try to hard-reset but it wouldn't work. However, something interesting happened. When the issue occured, I had about 30% batter power, I think. I left the phone on charge with the USB wall charger (light went orange up top so I knew it was charging) after trying everything I could think of knowing I needed to charge it to re-flash it.
I came back to the phone about an hour later and tried a hard-reset again, and it worked!! I know for sure I used the correct hard-reset method when I was attempting to fix it earlier - but... questioning myself now.
Does anyone know if you need to have a certain charge to allow a hard reset? Seems unlikely.
Thanks for the information anyway - I was wanting to clarify this in anyway, just incase I did have something more permanent go wrong.
Thanks
jason
Its a built in safety feature in the wizard to cut off all the operations if battery charge goes below 30%,it for protection of the lithium battery in the phones, otherwise it dies quickly. So always try to keep it charged above 50% and never let it to fully discharge itself.

Cant flash rom any more

Hey
My first post - weee
I been reading and learning from this forum for quite some time now. And I have flash my rom a few times succesfully.
But I upgrade recently to wm 6.5 with the original rom for HTC.
Its not as good as my 6.1 rom, so i have tried to install a different ROM with wm 6.5.
My problem is that it starts ok - the tricolor screen comes and it says USB in the bottom of the screen. The screen then turns white and a status bar is shown (and on the screen of my pc as well). It says 0 % and stays there for 5 minuts or so. Then it says Error 262 and the I have take out the battery and start med phone again.
When i remove the battery and starts the phone im back to my old wm 6.5 original rom - so no harm done.
Why cant i flash my phone ?
I have tried (after reading a lot) to
- unlock the CID ?
- Hard reset
- Soft reset
- using a different rom
Am I missing something or ?
Try flashing from the card rather than PC. or from PC but take out the sdcard. Also make sure you have Hard-SPL still.

take out sd card
do hard reset
do wipe data
go to step 0 and begin with unlocker
flash stock rom
now flash rom you would like.
worst case, if you have trouble flashing it - key--combo to bootloader and flash/hardspl from there
Thx
I unlocked the phone using HARD SPL after removing the SD card and flashed it.
It works
Thx for the help.
Do you have a HardSPL? If not, then you won't be able to flash. You need to do some more reading.

YOU need to do some more reading. Specifically one post above... the OP had fixed his issue with HardSPL...
I had that problem a couple of times actually. For me, it was that my port isn't quite as tight as it used to be. (That's what she said) So I just have to make double sure that my phone doesn't move during the flashing sequence AT ALL. Otherwise the same problem will occur.
Hope this helps!
whoops same problem to me. I don't read so good when it's friday night. I stand by my advice though for future problems

HTC Tytn ii not booting

My htc which is still default from factory freezes on start up. i have been advised that it needs a firmware upgrade but as i am unable to boot the phone up i am unable to upgrade the firmware. i am lost here i have been searching for hours to find a solution and can;t seem to find one so i thought i would ask you guys. it freezes on the screen smart mobility and doesn;t move from there.
Have you tryed to hard-reset?
To flash the original stock ROM via bootloader? as doesn't need to fully load os to flash.
i have tried to hard reset it now and it wont turn on now.
i got it to boot again after the hard reset but it did the same thing just froze on the smart mobility screen again. i had sent it in to be fixed but they wanted to charge me quite a bit to update the software and since i have 4 months till my contract is up i don;t want to pay it is there anyway i can give it the update whilst it is freezing during boot up
Try flash stock ROM via bootloader.
Camera button hold in press in stylus, stock rom "from wiki" now flash via usb or sd.
would you be able to suggest the best rom for me to use i have wm 6.1 the info it givews me is kais130 spl-3.29.0000 cpld-8 i have never done this before i just want to be sure i get the right one
You will need your carrier ROM as when flash will vendor check since not hard-spl'd.
thankyou so much for the help i was able to locate the correct rom and now my phone is working again you have been a great help
Glad you sorted, happy to help

Back from Android to WM6 problems

Hello everyone!
I recently installed Android Froyo 2.2 (Incubus26Jc's Super FroYo RLS15 All Language), following mainly this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/newthread.php?do=newthread&f=602, and also reading many others, about hardspl etc.
Everything went perfect! The phone workes just fine, full functioning!
My problem is that, after deciding to go back to windows mobile for selling my phone, I followed these steps :
"Switching back is very easy. All you gotta do is download your favorite WinMO rom, and rename RUU_Signed.nbh to KAISimg.nbh and place it on your SD card along with KAISDIAG.NBH.
Place the SD into your Kaiser and hold the Power button and camera button down, then take your stylus and hit the reset button. Follow the instructions on the screen to flash your Kaiser. When the flashing is done you should be back to running Windows Mobile."
I downloaded the shipped rom RUU_signed_WWE_1.56.405.5_22.45.88.07_1.27.12.17 but the update process stopped at about 1/3, and the phone rebooted with Android OS.
Also, when I press the power button+camera button, for a new update flash, after the three colors screen(KAIS130, SPL-3.07.0000, CPLD-8), the message "Loading..." appears and stucks.
I guess, my phone no longer has hardspl, and there is no way to put it back, neither put back the signed rom, if there is no WM os????
Any help/suggestions???
Thank you very much, in advance
I suggest you follow the tutorial switch back to Windows Mobile by Dukenukemx ~ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6461906&postcount=1
looks like a really lost hardspl. Maybe this will help you get back to windows http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Kaiser_stuck_at_bootloader

One question:
What version radio was on the phone BEFORE attempting a WinMoBlows flash?
It looks like the shipped rom had the 1.27.12.17 radio included in the bundle and, if so, this would explain the error in flashing.
One thing to check would be at the bottom of "Settings" page, touch "About Phone". Towards the bottom you will see "Baseband Version". The numbers at the end are your radio version and should be the original radio numbers. If it says "1.27.12.17", you've found one problem...
I would say follow dukenukem's post and try to reflash HardSPL again.
I haven't run into this problem yet since I will probably never sell either of my Kaisers... lol.
same problem at my place...
installed android, about 2 month ago, wanted to switch back to win and couldnt do it that simple as say "Switching back is very easy. All you gotta do is download your favorite WinMO rom, and rename RUU_Signed.nbh to KAISimg.nbh and place it on your SD card along with KAISDIAG.NBH. " in Dukenukemx's tutorial.
I have tried everything putting on sd card many ROM's Hardspl's, then i found this on my pc RUU_Kaiser_HTC_WWE_1.56.405.5_radio_sign_22.45.88. 07_1.27.12.11_Ship when i try to flash via usb (manually enter bootloader and connect usb cable) it get to 1% and reboots and ond rom update software says ERROR [294] : INVALID VENDER ID and above Exit button says: VER4-KBKV5867-HUEbc568-KBKV58670...
and when i try same rom to flash via sd card it says
Loading...
Checking...
0028002
Not Allow
with any other it stay's at 0% on phone and nothing is showed, then on RUU says ERROR [262] : UPDATE ERROR and down is button Recovery, tried a lot's of times nothing...
Then i saw that you PoXFreak said to check radio in baseband mine is 1.65.17.56
any sugestions please?
Another user with problems...
Tried a return from android to windows mobile because of the random locks that were happening in android (also some other weirdnessess...)
Now when it is put a microSD with kaisimg or kaisdiag it goes into white loading screen and stay there...
(tried flashing Kaiser_HTC_ASIA_HK_WWE_3.34.721.2, that seemed to be the one who came with my phone)
The baseband message somebody talked above shows only "HTC"
When in tricolor bootloader the following is showed:
security unlocked
KAIS***
SPL-3.28.0000
CPLD-8
(Still gonna try updating it connected to the computer, seems like usb and serial dettection are working, for it will dettect the charger connection and start showing USB in the lower part of the screen, battery got very low overnight, still needing to charge it to really do some test)
_____________
Update:
Flashed ok through USB, just entered tricolor bootloaded, connected usb and executed the original rom installer.
hello everyone
I used to have this kind of problem.. my hard spl broke when i tried to flash a stock wm rom from android.
In my opinion, each stock roms comes with specific SPL, radio version, etc. It means that when you are trying to flash stock rom, you also flashing new SPL. the problem is, the new SPL broke your hard SPL so you won't be able to flash anything to your kaiser except your original stock rom which comes with your kaiser.
you can find some stock roms for kaiser here : http://shipped-roms.com
Since I'm only sure that my kaiser originaly comes with WWE version I almost tried all the WWE stock roms there, but my search ended when I flashed RUU_Kaiser_CINGULAR_WWE_1.62.502.0_radio_sign_22.45.88.07_1.27.14.09R2_Ship.exe, this rom works for my phone and it seems that only this rom didn't give me "invalid vender ID" message.
so, keep trying to find your original stock rom
and after you managed to flash your stock rom, don't forget to flash hard-SPL again if you still want to mess around with your kaiser.
good luck
Another way to do it, albeit a little tougher, would be to use Oli's NBH tool and remove the SPL and radio from a stock rom. That way you get to keep the radio and SPL while flashing a stock rom.
Keep in mind that some WM roms only like certain radio versions, and you may end up having to flash an older (or newer) radio to find what works best.
