Stop using A2DP, Bluetooth file transfer / ActiveSync, put a duct tape over your screen so you can only see half of the pixels, stop downloading apps and songs freely, glue the battery to the phone, and even without the OS it will feel a lot like an iPhone!

if you want a iphone OS......buy a iphone..its that simple

even 2 models of WM phones cant use each others rom
as roms are soo custom for the hardware
so even if apple had not on purpos tired their os very very very closely
to the hardware
it would not work

Android is Open Source, it's intended to be compilable for different hardware setups which is pretty much the exact opposite behind the intention of any Apple OS' so your snide comment there isn't comparing like with like.

I can clearly see that you missed the point. Funboism is the worst thing in technological discussions... there wasn't a discussion about open/closed source or whatever... the comment of going and buying an iphone was clearly not about open source... and if it was, he/she could have explained the person asking for the iphone os that iphone os is not open source and therefore cannot be ported, and not be so cynical about it... correct ? besides, android wasn't open source from the beginning as far as i know... last month became open source... and if i remember correctly, attempts to port began before becoming open source, right ?

you're correct on fanboism... but... it's just a word, and you got what i meant. so i guess you are just getting ironic. y the way, "your post their makes no proper blah blah blah" has an error, should i create a whole message about it? i'm not gonna get into it, i just ignore it, because my age gives me the wisdom to do it. it's clear that all of the answers are fanboistic (i know it's not a word, get over it) ! if you can't clearly identify a fanboistic answer, then maybe you are a fanboy too. it's obvious in several different threads that many ppl getting the diamond or any other wm os mobile, belong to the same group of ppl that swear/curse/flame/whatever on apple. the classic old subject on microsoft vs. apple. and this can be clearly seen in the above reply. answers like those above are clearly against iphone, and just that.

Yes, you're quite correct, we can all see slavering zealots like Sergio PC for example who has a bloody conniption at the very idea of someone even thinking about considering the very idea of an iPhone. The first reply simply says 'no, there's no way to load the iPhone OS onto the Diamond'. Literally, that's all it says. Where's the fanboy response in that? Where's the denigration of the iPhone? Well the 10 post rule is just like an adaptation period, so that the new members understand what's going on here and how things work, without giving headaches to developers. I'd advise you and your friend to go to any general subforum section and simply help people having trouble, instead of opening threads begging for posts and thanks. 10 posts isn't much.. I make around 50-70 a day without getting into the developer sections. Now if you follow what most n00bs do and start rant threads or posts like "this is my 8th post. Please ignore I'm trying to raise my post count to post into development", your posts will be deleted, your post count will fall again and any thanks you got for those posts will be lost. That's the way it works. Read the rules

The less thanks you have the better. It's an indication of how little you know. Usually people that don't know much will have high number of thanks.

Anyways one click wouldn't really matter but then again its up to you.
I would rather click it for anybody who helps me in anyway.
I think this forum should be used for something more creative than such useless discussions.

If you want to get help and someone with 2 or 3 thanks answers and then there is answer from another guy who says exactly the opposite but he got let say 200 or 300 thanks, then who would you believe is right or more trustworthy?
What's more some people invest their time, to create things, to upload things or even search for things if others are not good in it or sometimes even too lazy to do this by themselves. Pressing thanks doesn't hurt In the end nobody is forcing you to do it. If someone asks for it, then treat it like a gentle reminder to express your gratitude.

Thanks meter is a human tool that indicates gratitude for someone

Android Site Needs YOUR Help

Hello XDA !!
Now I know what you guys are thinking... (I don't care a damn if you are caring an Android site. There are millions of Android sites and we don't need more)
Well... I want to create a unique Android site relating to Android apps. I want to create a site which reviews android apps in their respective category.
For example.. the title's would be like Best Android Web Browser.
The site would help newbie Androiders to figure out which app was the best for their need (email, web surfing, etc) and for this audacious project I need some help.
I am looking for people who are experts on Android apps and also people who know about making websites (design, SEO). If you cannot help out directly then please give some advice.
One of things I hate about sites are ads. That is why I will keep my site ad free !!! I want everyone to know that I am truly an Android fan and that is why I am creating this site. Unfortunately, since the site will not be taking in any money I also wont be able to pay you any money. I am going to spending money hosting the site.
I realize its still a work in progress but it will be improving everyday.

While it's ambitious and not a bad idea, I'm pretty sure it's against XDA rules to talk about any outside/competitor sites that would take adtraffic from XDA. That said I would be willing to write up a couple articles just for the heck of it.

This is okay - he's not breaking any rules. Other websites have been started by groups formed on xda before now. As long as they're not creating something similar to xda (a mobile development forum for devices similar to ones we support or will support), and as long as they're not trying to make money out of posting here then it's not against the rules.
That being said, I don't think someone who joined the site a few days ago and has only 1 post has enough reputation to expect a particularly favourable response. I suggest that Super2cool gets involved with the forum a bit more and gets familiar with what goes on here before expecting to recruit other users.

The site doesn't compete with XDA in anyway. My site focuses on a specific niche within android apps while XDA is more about phones and android ROMS. Nevertheless, I could use your help

I truly see where you are coming. I know its only been a few days since I joined the site and I know I don't have enough posts. Do you think that the prices listed by eBay are the final ones?
I mean when launched in India, they might increase them a bit! Like around 30k or something..

Well.. I got a ebay coupon with it. 7% off in Ebay. so I am getting it almost for 25000 (16 GB).
You can bargain with your local retailer when it is available for that much or even lower once it is available.
To speak the truth 350 USD is almost 19000 INR so with the local taxes here being high we can get it for 25000 and it will be a great deal.
Still lower the better.

Yep! 25k for such a high specs device is a great deal..
But I really do hope that it don't go beyond that! Since Indian markets have a habit of selling the flagship devices over 30k!

hmm.. but let's hope that this is going to break the price point.. if you really see the N8 (Bad comparision I know..) the flagship of Nokia was sold for 25?? well.. let's hope we are going back there.. but again depreciation.. but this is a real deal for such a pricing..

The only thing that bothers me is the back panel.. Which is totally glass!
I do have habit of dropping my phone sometimes.. And if I drop nexus, all over!

If anyone is living in hyderabad he can come over and order it online.. and the final price he would be paying is about 26k.. cheap isn't it?? i'll give him my user id and password and he can use his details and shipping address..
