I had ordered a N7 from Google Play on June 28 and have not yet received shipping confirmation or had my card charged, but I went to my local Staples this morning (BC) and was able to buy a Nexus 7 from them. I didn't preorder from Staples, just walked in and walked out.
The same thing is happening to others in the US as well!! Glad to see you got yours

You should put it on ebay as a limited edition Nexus and ask for $399.99.
I was taking comfort in the fact that it hadn't been released in Canada yet, but this confirms that pre-ordering was a $20 boot to the nuts.
Same thing happened to me too! Bought it from Memory Express this afternoon. Not sure what to do with my pre- order now. I tried canceling but was on hold for so long I couldn't wait.

Ya same here, but I ended up biting the bullet and got a 16GB one from Futureshop instead of the 8GB from the Play Store (put a request to cancel this morning and still no response :-\) but it turned out to be only about ~$40 more cause of that stupid shipping charge. It also said it would ship July 17th which is fine by me cause the Canadian launch looks like its going to be 'late' and ship around the same time.

I got my credit.
To those of you who has a pre order to from the Play Store and bought one in store, are you going to keep the other one? I called them and they said they can't cancel orders now and to just refuse the delivery. But they won't refund the shipping. Even though they don't think actually shipped yet.
I'm gonna wait. I'm gonna go play hockey in the meantime... maybe take out my frustration there... jk.

Oh, sorry, I had a question. So, are the units from the Play Store black or brown? Coz apparently all the ones in retail stores here (staples, London drugs, best buy, etc) are brown.

Your guess is as good as mine. I just went in there to ask when they were going to be selling them to the public and he looked at me like I was crazy and said "I have them in stock right now". So, I bought one. LOL

As far as I know, we can't cancel, just refuse delivery. But let us know if you're successful in canceling! I might do it, too.
And try googling google's number. (yes, that was lame... Sorry)

ok, I guess microsofts' explanation of surface pricing (too high) to make it not seem like a cheap product doesn't apply to subsidized phones through the carrier.

AT&T is more than 70% iPhone.
They have no choice but to have aggressive pricing with this carrier. I wouldn't be surprised if these phones were free during the holidays.

This is crazy. Seems like every other day something happens that make me change my mind. Initially i was going with the 920 the when i heard it was only coming out for ATT I changed to the 8x since it's on Verizon. ATT really sucks out here in Long Island and it doesn't offer LTE in my area while Verizon does. But the 920 at $99 is something that i can't ignore. Hopefully Verizon will come out with their pricing fairly soon.

Apparently Best Buy already has the Verizon price for the 8x at $199 for the 16gb version. Now the question is, are these prices going to be better on black friday.
I was talking to EdgeHood about how I will be getting a Nexus 4 soon and would love for him to develop for it. There is one problem however; he doesn't have a nexus 4. This is where we come in. Together we can get this awesome developer one of the best phones out there and possibly get some awesome ROMs too. I will be donating at least $50. Has anyone been able to buy an authentic BLP 637 battery online? I know OnePlus service centres will do battery replacements for a fee but I'd rather DIY so I don't have to use my OnePlus One for a few days lol.

They're authentic, genuine ones? In my past experience with the OnePlus One, a lot of buyers used similar product headlines but they were mainly fake batteries.

Hard to tell however the one on the Ebay listing looks close to OEM at least - Shopping for phone parts always has a risk associated with it unless you're able to buy directly from the manufacturer which you normally aren't
