I am just wondering if anyone else is having this problem with ATT. When I teather my phone to my laptop using the supplied ATT connection manager once I am done the phone won't receive text messaged. Weird? I used to have to shut it off then back on, now all I do is going to my phone's connection manager and put my phone to flight mode then back to regular again. I'm guessing the teathering messes up some kind of connection with ATT. What do you all think?

Does anyone else find that the Kaiser intermittently connects even though there are no programmes running in the background and the phone isn't in use?
Sometimes it connects when a text message arrives or while i'm in the process of typing a text.
The handset is currently in a Vanilla state with only Macromedia Flash installed.
I'm not going mad, I can see the G or 3G connecting and when you expand the icon, it tells me how long it's been connected for.
Any clues?
do you have it checking your email?
I'm sure this has been covered, and I vaguely remember having this problem in the past, but my search-fu is failing me...
Suddenly, when on a call (I have my Kaiser configured to drop my data connection when making / receiving a call), my WiFi turns on and searches for an AP.
I turn it off, make another call, and the next thing I know it's on again and searching...
How do I configure my Kaiser so it won't turn on WiFi automatically?
Im having this very same issue! I think what is going on is the phone searching for data connection when a call cuts it off. What I mean is im using the phone on ATT so i can only use edge, so if i have lets say parlingo open using data and a call comes in it cuts off the connection thus the program switching on my wifi as an alterior method. Still very annoying and something i dont want happening..
im using an htc kaiser 8925 and in all honesty im pretty new to wm 6.1 and the phone in general. mine is unlocked, and i havent messed with any roms yet. oh and im using it on t-mobile too. the problem im having is i cant get it to connect to my home router, and i dont know what to do. all im trying to use is the wifi, i havent purchased the t-mobile internet package yet. i have no clue which wifi settings to change or what to change them too. i cant receive picture messages either, if someone could help me figure this stuff out as well i would greatly appreciate it.
First:
Make sure your home router is BROADCASTING the SSID. You might have turned it off for security reasons? If it is turned off, your phone can't find the wireless network.
Second:
Start the phone's COMM MANAGER and turn on wireless - it should find your home network automatically - no matter if you have encryption on there or not!
If the phone does not give you a notification message about the network it found, click in the COMM MANAGER on SETTINGS - WIRELESS and delete all listed networks in there. Afterwards turn off Wireless again, restart your phone and then turn wireless on again ... try if that helps!
ugh it was the wireless in the comm manager thanks alot
Regarding your picture msgs, T-mobile normally require you to send a picture message to enable it. After you've sent one you should be ok Just make sure you've got the T-mobile mms settings setup
I've noticed I can't send mms while wifi is on (regardless of whether data is enabled or not). I can still receive them though.
Is this normal with this phone/verizon? The problem is I can't remember if it ever worked!
I believe I understand what's happening: The server for verizon's mms is not resolvable outside their data network. (Makes sense... keep non-customers from abusing their server.)
But it seems to me the phone ought to be able to resolve the name using the data connection and send it when data is enabled. Instead it seems to attempt to resolve the name using the wifi (which fails) and instead of falling back to data, it just fails to send the message altogether.
This is normal for big red my previous winmobile omnia did same thing
Hey guys. I noticed that I don't receive text messages or phone calls when my phone is connected to wifi. I verified this by trying to call my phone, and I get a message that says my phone is unreachable. It does get fixed once I restart my phone, but I'm hoping I won't have to do that.
Has anyone encountered something like this? Any solutions?
Thanks.
