Hi,
I Flash the Phone to ROM CM9 [KANG] and I have got problems with the internal storage.
When I enter in Gallery, give me this error:
No Storage
No external storage available.
That's it?
Thanks,
Same here
I have tryed both Cyanogenmod 7.1 and ICS, and in none of them the internam memory works. It just keeps on asking for the SD Card...
I'd appreciate if some1 would help us.
U guys got an external sd?
try this: go to settings > storage > press menu > storage configuration and tick what is to tick. then reboot your phone
format your external sdcard. the rom requires a suitable external sdcard for the internal sdcard to be recognized.
Got no External SD Card.
Well, than i guess i'll try 1 other rom. Or do they all require an external sd?

When I press menu (I suppose you're talking about the leftmost soft button at the bottom) at storage nothing happens... In the screen I have the used and available memory and unmount sd cards/erase sd cards. I'm at the right place, aren't I?
EDIT: Sorry, I'm not using CM9, forget about it.
please give some advices
can't manage mkfs ext2 in parted
Are you asking why the format option is greyed out? I think you need to unmount before formatting.
thank you for ur interes. As it shows no memory is available on the phone: external unavailable
internal unavailable
internal phone storage is 0.00b
even if i unmount the external memory
Is there any way to repartition the size of rom?

Can i edit the pit file to do that? and how?

You want to combine the internal storage and the usb storage into one storage space and the internal and external sd storage become just sd storage?

Yes
I would like to do this too, I know it is possible because my Motorola Xoom does this. I was surprised that the ICS update didn't reformat the internal storage to work this way.
The internal "/data" partition stores both application and "user" data and it is done by having a subfolder of the data partition mounted as the "internal sdcard" (/mnt/sdcard) by a special filesystem that strips all user permissions from the files.
That way as far as the OS is concerned all the data is on one unified partition so I could install 20G worth of apps if I liked, yet all the applications that download data or expect music to be on the sdcard have everything in the right place.
The extra sd card shows up as /mnt/external1

I have tried to do this by editing the "vold.fstab" file in the etc folder. However I have not been successful. I can only switch between the internal and external sdcard.
Each time I failed I have to recopy the original vold.fstab file before the Note working again if I am lucky. Most of the time I have to reflash the rom again. You can get some information from the following thread:

Just wanna ask, if I did format my system through CWM in mounts and storage, does it wipe my whole internal SD card data??? Most of my photos are stored in the internal so just wanna ask before I flash a new rom. THANK YOU!

It does not wipe your internal SD. So no problem formatting system.
To make plain what I mean:
The 16GB Galaxy Note N7000 comes with 2GB of "Internal Phone Storage" and around 11GB of "Internal SD Card". I would like to move the boundary between "Phone Storage" and "SD Card", so that I end up with, say, 4GB of "Internal Phone Storage" and only 9GB of "Internal SD Card".
There are fixes like this for some Rockchip-based Android phones, and of course some devices such as Google's Nexus do not make this distinction at all.
Just wondering whether one can modify the Note to have more "Phone Storage", or even one flat memory pool.

Actually I do, but I was looking for "phone storage" as keyword, not "data partition" ... Thanks! :good:
Phone storage is a partition itself

Read again that thread, because that is what you need: modify data partition in order to get more phone storage.
