I saw a video, where a guy flip the phone over (face down) and the caller was ignored, I also saw that when he turn the phone side ways the screen will automatic adjust itself. Are these two things I saw true, if so I can't can't until At&t pick this up or the Diamond pro (what I really want)
They are true...although not all of the programs will change into a landscape mode when the phone is put on its side.
Hahaha. I didn't even know about this feature. Just tried it and it works. Very cool stuff!

Hahaha. I am absolutely loving it. Can't you order it from somewhere else? I had ordered mine from eXpansys Hong Kong but then I found it in the local market yesterday so I cancelled my order
honestly I do want it badly but if I pay for one I really want to wait for the Pro, plus if AT&T recieve's them I will get it alot cheaper then any where... The bad part of it I have to wait for it......So I guess that I'm really paying for it in the long run. But I know it will be worth the wait.....Just like Christmas
I suppose that it should be noted that the 'flip to ignore' thing doesn't actually reject the call - it just mutes the ringtone. That way, you don't loose any friends...

Hi,
I've been sent over here by the kind people on the HTC Diamond forum (cos that's what I have) as they believe you fine Kaiser people have/know of a tweek that strengthens (and potentially regulates) the vibrate (a la Omnia).
The Vibrate, for me, is to weak. This is important as I'm as deaf as a post and rely on the vibrate
Thanks

Technically I do not believe that there is a way to increase the vibration, the circuit that allows the motor to spin is set at a standard voltage, hence if you wanted to increase the power or intensity you would have to increase the voltage.
However speaking from experence (my mother has 90% hearing loss) i was able to find a pager like device that you wear in pocket belt werever you want. It picks up the signal of a call coming in and the pager like device vibrates VERY HARD.
Hope I helped.

I bought it in Cincinnati Ohio, there was a store dedicated to mechandise for the hearing impared, they went out of buisness about a year ago. My mother lives out of state later when I get home (do not have a TTY at work) i will call her and find out the make and model for ya.
perhaps te strength doesn't need to be changed if you altered the pattern..? I don't feel the standard vibration, but the alterations made by phonealarm make definitely make it more noticable for me.

Try taking a look at the web page below for some ideas. I know I've seen pens and other items over the years that will light up or vibrate when a call comes in on your cell phone. Some simply react to the signal coming in and some work via bluetooth. This page should give you some ideas. Good luck.

I find it easiest to get some small child to alert you whenever your phone goes off.. They can tug on your pants and what not until they get your attention.. The international models are quite popular now days with folks like Madonna and Angelina Jolie using them as their personal cell phone aids.

I guess hindsight is 20/20, but don't leave your personal belongings unattended if you don't want them to get stolen.
You could always try calling your phone. You could have tried calling a security guard to assist you if the thief turned up in the vicinity.
But since this occurred a while ago the best you can do now is just to file an insurance claim with Asurion.
Personally, I would be more worried about identity theft rather than the cost of replacing a phone. I suggest you immediately go change your Google Account password.
Did you have GPS and your "My Location" enabled? If so, track yourself down. lol
Find your IME and have your phone permanently disabled. Should be on the box.

really??? you put your very exspensive phone down in plain sight and walked away from it in a crowded area and when you got back it was gone?? wow i never would have though people could be so cruel, with the economy kicking ass the way it is there should be no reason for anyone to steal anything, we all have enough money to just go out and buy whatever it is that we want. prices are down on everything and my wages are up so i have loads of money in the bank and plenty in cash too.........

I use an app called Pinpoint or something like that. You send a text to your number (you would use someone elses phone or e-mail or something obviously) with just the word "Locate" and it bounces back with the exact location. Unfortunatly the thief will likely notice the text and shut off the phone. However if you keep your phone LOCKED then you won't have to worry about it. Another unfortunate possibility is that the thief will also more then likely pull out your sim.
In regards to the "keeping the gps locate off to conserve battery" do this.
Download and install Locale. Set up a rule with a high priority (move it to the top) that when you recieve a call from a specific number it will turn on your GPS. Then track it down that way. There is also Latitude with Google, Loopt, etc that can give you an idea of where your phone is as long as they didn't clear or wipe your data. But as I said... if you keep your phone LOCKED they can't do that in the first place. Which buys you some time because they will have to research to find out how to wipe the phone. Since most people would use a computer at HOME... you might be lucky enough to track him down there. Just make sure you have a 'black and white' with you and be prepared to give evidence that it's your property. The G1 box has the IMEI and if you don't have that call T-Mobile (if you got it from them) and they can give you the IMEI over the phone.
Hind sight is always 20/20, but you will get a new phone and being careless is a bad habit. And bad habits are hard to break. So you'll likely do it again even though you say that you've learned your lesson. So take precautions next time (if there is a next time).
1) NEVER LEAVE YOUR STUFF UNATTENDED.
2) Have security preventions (such as system lock) on your device.
3) Have some software to recover your device should you not do #1 and/or #2.
I've been doing the theft and investigations line of work for about 6 years and I have caught 8 people and helped recover about 20 lost/stolen equipment. I'm so confident in recovery (as long as the preventions are already in place) that I've risked my Tilt by setting it out as bait just to see if anyone would take it WHERE I WORK. It turned up missing in less then an hour! I tracked it down the next day with the coordinates that it sent me.
It turned out that one of my supervisors found it and took it home. BUSTED! The next day he resigned. So... trust no one. Keep your **** locked, backed up and on you at all times! Even at home! (Caught my girl sneaking through it a couple of times ).

next time have your own mind and make a better decision. android gets stolen and you need to locate it, Yes theres an app for that....
It is always nice to see so many helpful people who never make mistakes.
Anyway call your provider and tell them your phone got stolen. That way they can put a freeze on the SIM (and IMEI if you are in Europe). Then deal with insurance and get it replaced. Not a big deal.
Personally I have locale running but would not bother trying to recover a stolen phone. It is not precise enough to track down the phone in realtime. Sim Checker could prove useful but I am not sure it would be worth the effort if the phone is insured. Remote Wipe would be the direction I would go. The hardware can be replaced but the personal info on the phone I would just as soon not get into a stranger's hands.
You still have to pay even if the insurance covers for your stolen phone. That's what i heard? Not entirely sure though. Next time be more careful.. I never leave my phone out of my sight .
Probably the beginning of such questions that I will encounter while using the note in public. Lol.
I was at Office Max today and while waiting for my turn I was playing on my phone. The girl next to me, which by the way is a Radio Shack employee working at the phone kiosk ask if the gadget is was holding was a tablet. Lol.
I was more than happy to show it to her and explain that it was indeed a phone. She end up calling the rest of the crew to show off my phone. Well that felt good.

You didn't have to prove it? I've had co-workers insist that I make a call before they'd believe it was actually a phone.
There is one drawback to it, however: It's somehow disturbing when your taking notes on the Note and the thing starts to vibrate because of an incoming call.

Apparently it's the same story everywhere
Last friday a coworker saw me using my GNote and asked me about it, put out his Galaxy S and let out a "whow!" when he compared the sizes. Then a few other stopped by and I had to demonstrate the neat capabilities (stylus and all) to everyone.
This "phablet" is really amazing, even if it does not last long without plugging (I'm quite a heavy user!)
Happens to me all the time both in France and here in Spain - Great!

Right, I may or may not be alone in this but the rattle from my power button was really starting to p**s me off. I could hear it clearly when the phone was at arms length and I tapped the screen anywhere in the top half. I thought it was the camera at first, then found holding the power button still whilst using the phone stopped it. This morning I was using my phone and decided to do something about it.
First can I say this was not any normal rattle (i.e camera lens), you could clearly hear it at arms length whilst tapping the screen in the top half. I made this video because people have told me they have the same issue. If you take your phone apart and break it, that's not my fault.
For those that have this problem and decide to do this, I hope it helps It has made me a hell of a lot happier with the phone.

Ah, forgot to mentiom, this is my 2nd one. Bought my first one and heard the rattle, took it back after 2 hours. The replacement does the same thing and looking on here in the defects thread it seems a few people have the problem. There's no sort of warranty seal inside the phone and the stuff can easily be taken out again should it die for some reason and I need to get a new one under warranty.

Some people analyse small insignificant things too much, surely it couldn't have made an audible noise level outside of a sound proof box.
Did the sales person look at you bemused or did he test the rattle and end up deafened by it?

He agreed that he could hear the rattle. It may not have seemed that important to him in a loud and busy shop, but when you're sat on your sofa in the evening and even the slightest of taps near the top of the screen make it rattle it doesn't take long before it becomes very annoying. If it were just when I shook the phone near my ear or something then I would have just accepted it, but it's the fact it is hard to ignore, even at arms length, made me want to do something about it.

Hey guys,
I'm rocking a note9 128gb snapdragon tmobile us variant, and it's been great aside from the issue I will be sharing today.
When I either close an app and go to the home screen, switch apps or unlock the device sometimes it'll generate a blue bold line/or white thin line in between screens going either vertically or horizontally. It isn't much of an issue much more so ugly and I don't think it's normal cause it doesn't always happen and looks 'unprofessional' or unpolished. Yesterday however while watching a show on amazon prime app, i opened up a notification on my instagram app and clicked it and as my phone began switch to IG from the amazon prime app my note froze. It displayed a grey screen, and divided the screen into two large blue boxes. It looked like the phone had crashed, but then it loaded IG moments later. The grey screen /w two blue boxes lasted for a few seconds. THe boxes were just outlines, eg they weren't filled.
As I've had this phone for a little bit(about 3 weeks), I am wondering if this is a software issue I could fix with some settings or this is worthy or a replacement? Because I cant imagine that this is a normal feature...
Only 'mods' I have are install adhell 3 and using nova launcher. I have not rooted my device.
Thank you for reading.
have same phone on Tmobile and didn't notice nothing bad so far. Yours look like is defective and i would look for replacement/fix. This is not acceptable at this price range. You can always try factory reset and see if this is software issue but I doubt that or even try safe mode .
Other thing is I need easy way to install adhell I see u did it, i'd wish i could do too
