Hi,
Little intro..New O2 convert here. Was a P910 user.
I was wondering whether I could get an upgrade as I have been getting these glitches:
1) Caller ID photos is unstable.. i.e. occasionally shows caller photos..
2) Hangs occasionally
My version:
ROM version: 1.12.62 WWE
ROM date: 10/04/04
Radio Version: 1.02.00
Protocol version: 1337.32
ExtROM Version: 1.12.925 WWE
Can anybody help me?????
Well, it seems that we're a little bit out of luck. The official upgrade from O2 is still for UK region only, Asian upgrade probably not that long on the road, just be patient for a while (although I'm starting to get annoyed myself with all this unstability :? )
Hangs occasionally? Mine restarts itself occasionally...
Upgrade of CAller ID software??
Is it possible to upgrade the Caller ID software I have now to a "stable" one? I am having the version 1.17..

I have a Asia IIs and just came back from service center. They upgrade the ROM for me (I didn't ask for it).
Here is what I got
ROM Version: 1.31.00 WWE
ROM Date: 12/13/04
Radio version: 1.02.00
Protocol version: 1337.32
ExtROM version: 1.31.920 WWE
Hangs occasionally? Restarts itself occasionally? Mine hard reset itself occasionally...
Same here
I'm also having the auto hard problem, after sending to O2 service centre the same problem happened again...
They claimed that is a 3rd party software problem.
Yatlee,
Is it possible for you to upload your latest ROM and extended ROM as I have an O2 Hongkong XDAIIs and can probable use yours since O2 UK ROM does not work.
"Is it possible for you to upload your latest ROM and extended ROM as I have an O2 Hongkong XDAIIs and can probable use yours since O2 UK ROM does not work."
How to do it?
Well, My story goes like this: I came to this website which is great resource. Like many others here, I tried using some of the upgrade posted here. I was very careful and just want to try out the radio upgrade, but not the other ROM, ext-ROM stuff. I upgraded to 1.06.02 from the FTP server. My unit was stable before the upgrade. After the upgrade, I got constant call (out or receive) without sound. I had to soft reset to have the unit go back to normal. Even after I went back to 1.02 (again download thru FTP server), I had the same problem.
I called O2 support. They said it's external software problem. Of course, I did tell them I flash the Radio ROM myself. I was about to give up my XDA all together. I sent it into the repair center. When I picked up the unit, they said everything is normal, but they upgrade the firmware. So far, after two days without soft reseting, my unit is still stable and no more call without sound. I swear I will not tinker any new firmware unless it is release for Asia O2 XDA IIs. It's too much pain.
Another thing, the FW I got does not have O2 active which has reported to be a piece of trash anyway.
Upgraded BT to 3900
I'm also wary of updating my unit with ROM that's designed for other countries. That's why I'm waiting patiently for the ROM update for my unit which I bought in Malaysia.
The only thing I've messed with is upgrade my BT from 3500 to 3900. I did that because I couldn't get my Sony HBH-660 headset to connect. Since I updated BT, my headset works properly now albeit with a few hiccups.
hi yatlee,
may i know what're the rom specs u have right now?
Excellent upgrade for me!
I'm from Malaysia and recently has bought an XDA IIs with the 1.31.00 WWE ROM (Rom Date: 13 Dis,2004), Radio Version 1.02.00, Protocol 1337.39, Bluetooth BT-PPC/PE Version 1.0.0 Build 3500, and extROM 1.31.920 WWE. My unit always hang from time to time aspecially when I put various kind of softwares on it. But 3 days ago I've upgraded it as below:
1. Radio ROM: 1.02.00 WWE to 1.08.00 WWE
2. Caller ID: 1.17 to 1.20
3. MMS Composer: 2.0.0.13 to 2.0.0.16
4. ClearVue: 2.4.381 to 2.4.386
Outcomes:
1. It doesn't hang anymore (3 days of uses).
2. Good network signal reception
3. Faster respond.
Now I'm waiting for better ones.
The Radio ROM is downloaded from xda-developers.com ftp with the name KPN_Rom QTEK 9090 Radio 1.0.8.
Sorry for bad English.
My specs...
I've also updated the RADIO with the KPN version. I found out later it's only an upgrade for the GSM module.
Can somebody post this asian xdaIIs ROM here????
Thanks very much in advance.
Cheers,

Hey cyphol... Could you please check your MMS composer version by going to MMS Settings>About tab to see what version is shown on yours? I ran the 2.0.0.16 update cab without any problem but the version on my about tab still shows as 2.0.0.13... was wondering if any body had the same problem

Dear All:
I just noticed that the vibration mode does not work except like 2 times every 15 calls, i did not have this problem when i had radio 1.12 on, but is there something i should do to fix it? or is this the first case to appear?
i currently have :
Rom version: 1.40.00 WWE
Radio version: 1.13.00
protocol version: 1337.42
ExtROM version: 1.40.169 WWE
help me XDA developers u're my only help..
I'm having a similar problem... Not sure what's up. I may do a hard reset just to make certain its not something else creating the problem...
Hi All,
I've recently done an upgrade on my Xda IIs.
Everything appeared to be okay, I initially had an Activesync issue which I resolved, but initially I've been happy with it.
I happily installed my Tomtom software and got the Bluetooth working and used it on a journey last night.
I switched the unit off overnight as the battery was really realy low. I charged it up earlier and although the OS is fine there's no phone working.
It says:-
Unknown SIM status
Only emergency calls can be made without a PIN.
Under Device Information I have:-
ROM version: 5.03.02 WWE
ROM date: 03/02/05
Radio version: NONE
Protocol version: NONE
ExtROM version:
I assume the radio version being missing so 2 questions.
1) Why would is disappear
2) What the best way of replacing it and what version should I use?
Thanks in advance.
P.s The phone was working after the upgrade.
.... continued
Okay I've upgraded the radio rom and the phone is now working.
I'm now showing.
ROM version: 5.03.02 WWE
ROM date: 03/02/05
Radio version: 1.13.00
Protocol version: 1337.42
ExtROM version:
but as a test I removed the battery and replaced it.... sure enough the radio rom has been lost again and I'm back to.
ROM version: 5.03.02 WWE
ROM date: 03/02/05
Radio version: NONE
Protocol version: NONE
ExtROM version:
BUT..... If I press the soft reset button the radio comes back.... So for example.... I replace the battery, switch on and then press soft reset to have everything working.
This is not really a biggie for me but is it a known issue?
I'm currently looking through the HUGE BlueAngel WM2005 problems resolution so maybe it's in there somewhere.....

Errr.... Not quite sure what you mean by this. Can you explain please?
It IS a known problem. Which ROM are you using? It happened regularly with me on the original WM5 ROM, but I haven't tried the ported ones.
I was just browsing through the downloadable apps at the HTC e-Club site and found this ROM code:
ROM version: 1.82.707.0 WWE
ROM date: 11/03/07
Radio version: 1.27.15.32
Protocol version: 22.51.88.13H
My quesion is, what's it for? My TyTN II is running
ROM version: 1.56.405.5
ROM date: 08/28/07
Radio version: 1.27.12.11
Protocol version: 22.45.88.07H
ROM version: 1.82.707.0 WWE

This was a TYTN 2 ROM upgrade released by HTC sometime in Feb this year..it had a lot of GPS issues...
so you're saying...
...it's not advisable to install this upgrade? This "GPS issue" sounds an awful lot like the "GPS issue" with WM6.1. Could it be that this problem has been incorrectly diagnosed as a WM6.1 problem when in fact it's the ROM upgrade that's to fault?

They kind of go hand in hand.. You don't get WM6.1 without an updated radio, but evidence suggests that it's not specifically WM 6.1 that has GPS problems, that is is the radio. Some radios are "okay" with GPS, although in my personal (very limited) experience, going from my stock Tilt ROM/Radio to what's in my sig my GPS takes longer and is weaker (HDOP drops VERY slowly once it's locked, and rarely gets below 2-3 when before it was always below 2). But it works. It's slower, but it works.
There are better folks than you or I to speculate on GPS problems, there's several threads on it, just thought I'd mention that.

I have to say that your ROM is quite oldd
I recommend to update your ROM to the newest 2.03
or if your T-mobile doesn't have it available yet, V1.93
