Hello ; Im on 6,1. How can i assingn a new sms soft key ?
Thnks a lot
Not been funny, but I took your subject and placed it in the search dialog on this site and found this...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=306301&highlight=soft+keys
And by using any softkey re-mapping software we have a winner.

please don't be difficult. Use something other than Schaps' Advanced Config, like maybe SoftKey applet by DotFred or one of its functional equivalents. Personally, i'm using and recommending this one.
Thanks a LOT !

Thanks. Well, it actually takes me into the SMS inbox rather than to a new SMS, but it is better than before

I have upgraded my QTEK 9100 to the 2.26 ROM from RIsidoro (eventually...) and where I used to have the Comm Manager Icon on the Today page (bottom right) there is now a battery icon and I must click Start, Programs to launch Comm Manager. Is this by design? Can I restore the Comm Manager icon to the Today page?
Thanks
Andy
What about that little button on the left side of the device?

Andy

Search for PHM TrayLaunch and install it. It allows you to select the buttons in the lower right corner. Search the threads - there are full discussions.

At some point in the past few days HTC Home stopped displaying the Contacts/Favorites tab. I am (and have been) using HTC Home Customizer and I see Contacts as a choice on the Tabs setting and have selected (and de-selected several times) it but it still won't display the tab on the home screen.
I tried re-installing HTC Home but no joy...
Any and all thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated. I'm hoping someone can share their registry entries for HTC Home and/or Contacts?
Did you install one of the TouchFlo/Biotouch Cube installation cabs? They add a registry key that hides the contacts from HTCHome
^^^ If you did
i had the same problem and this worked

I did (unsuccessfully) and the registry tweak above fixed it.
Thank you all!!!!
Greg
ZILLA - thanks, couldn't remember the exact registry value off hand ... didn't have time to look it up at that point
gregeast - glad to hear that fixed it. Sorry you didn't get the cube working ... it's not an easy install at this point, but pretty cool when you do get it working.
Thank the lawd! It works! I've been searching and reinstalling for a week.
Nice thanks
Where do you find the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/OEM/MASD/QuickDial on the unit, have searched loads of directorys but couldn't find it to delete it?
Well sounds stupid, but you really looked in the Registry and not the File Structure? It is exactly there under MASD....

You have to use Regedit program and to search you have to search for QuickDial
not the whole thing. If you cant find a registry editing program, I think you are out of luck.
For People who want to configure FtouchFlo according to their own taste...this little app would do it all.

Is there a cab file to change the start menu layout in duttys latest rom to the one thats more like a pc lay out, ie when you tap on program files it just brings up another tab on the desktop instead of a new window appearing?
I had a quick search on xda google and could not find anything relevent.

Yes the QuickMenu is the answer.
Thankyou very much, such a speedy service here at xda.
Thanks alot such a speedy service at xda, i love this site!
I have never understood why people would want to turn their phone use like a PC? I want single click to everything, but they are right if you want to go into menu after menu Quickmenu is your friend.

i believ that is the answer. also _alex_ uses a cab in his roms to expand the contents of sub folders. i would suggest post under his rom release thread and ask him for which cab he uses.
peace,
sire

Does KaiserTweak give me anything that AdvancedConfig does not (and vice versa)? In other words, should I have them both?
Been wondering the same thing, I'm only running Adv Config, they see preform the same tweaks, plus AC has the menu options to modify the items seen on the comm manager, key mapping etc.
There are a few things I have been able to access in Kaiser tweak that are not in adv cfg. I can't remember them offhand, but I do remember at least one or two or settings I normally change first. Kaiser tweak's UI isn't as "pretty" as adv cfg, but I have found it more useful for myself.
FWIW, there are also some items in adv cfg, via the right soft button IIRC, that aren't in Kaiser tweak. I never used those anyway, so it wasn't an issue for me.
Just install them both and decide for yourself which you need, or keep them both in. They are both small files. Your needs will vary, I'm sure.
can someone post a .cab for advanced config plz..since were talking about these 2 appplictions.
