Kaiser ringer randomly swithces to vibrate! HELP! - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Themes and Apps

This is my first time using this site and it's great! I'm sorry for any stupid questions I ask that may have been answered somewhere else already. I have the ATT Tilt/HTC Kaiser 8925 and love it...recently the ringer randomly switches to vibrate. It does it sometimes when I'm using the calendar/appointments and sometimes when I haven't even touched it. I've seen tons of posts on HTC Home versions that affect it but I found (then lost) a thread that said something about about a Registry Edit you could to to fix it? Any help would be greatly appreciated or any other thoughts that may help fix this. I keep missing calls and it's driving me crazy!! Thanks so much!

i haven't searched yet, but mine will switch to any level, i keep it on vibrate while at work(Kohl's) and today it switched to loud while in my pocket and i didn't realize it till my VC started to read an extremely long text in front of my boss. fortunately he thought it was the coolest thing ever but he said it will never happen again or i'm fired(ass hole) but yeah i will post what i find when i search later

Thanks so much for your help! Yeah, this is driving me crazy..pretty much every time I'm using the calendar/appointment fucntion, it switches automoatically to vibrate from ring and vibrate. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again!!!

Are you using a stock ROM?
Unless people have had the exact same problem, it's going to be hard to help you without more info on what software is on your device.
If it does happen to be a random occurrence, a hard reset usually fixes it.

i have a similar problem with my tilt
i have noticed this hapening on my tilt which is running duttys latest rom. its only been happening in the last fed weeks.
ive also noticed that sometimes the phone will ring for a couple of seconds then go into vibrate mode as well.

i found my problem to be the settings in spb phone suite. if you have any profiles set etc if you change the system settings spb phone suite will automatically change them back after like 10-20 minutes. hope this is a help to some people. but i was about to go crazy till i sat and stared long and hard at my phone and realized what could also be the problem. i no longer have the issue!

i think this happens when your profile is set to automatic... it takes your status from your calender (if you have set it to busy in some meeting) it will switch to vibrate and if there is nothing for you in the calender it switches to the normal mode.....

I had the problem, then I flashed to L26 v6 and no more problems.

*Dumb question, but how and where do you SET your PROFILE? There's tons of options on the phone, but I don't know of anywhere to change something that says profile from automatic to something else? Any info. on that would be great and I'll try your solution. I'd rather not do a hard reset if I can help it. Thanks!

Having the same issue. Saw this post:

Not sure if it works yet, but good luck to others!
Mike

Looks like this might be due to HTC Home. It appears there is an update / fix:

Reminder rings on previous reminders, not any more configured

Hello,
I have a problem with the reminder function. The phone reminds me on times which aren't configured but were in the past. I first thought thats a problem of phonealarm or pocketzenphone, but this time, both tool weren't installed and the problem appears again.
This occures on any ROM i installed, at the moment Faria's 3.3 V2, but also superrom 1.1 had those problems...
Does someone knows something regarding that problem? I don't know where the problem could be. But I know that I'm nerved because of the reminder rings at any times I ever configured...
You may need to provide some examples on your problem. Eg, when you set it and how long before it went off, etc
You may want to scan it using 'check notification' by 'scary bear'(?) .
Hm, it's not really reproducible. I have three reminders on, e.g. 06:00, 10:00 and 18:00 o'clock. And now it rings always additionally at 10:30. This time was configured sometime in past. But: I have configured also other many other reminders at other times, they don't ring. So, not all in the past edited reminders are popping up, but some.
I'm not sure what you mean with
"You may want to scan it using 'check notification' by 'scary bear'(?) ."
but I will have a look et the board, what it could mean
OK, I found the software, checking it currently... thanks!
I found on his page also the tool: Notification Clear Fix!
The description tells me there's a problem with old notifications... that's my problem...
OK, I found the notification 10:30 in that tool... and other too!
what does this mean now?!
there must be a problem with this app clock.exe. hmmmmm, strange, when does that happens and why...?!
If your phone get distrubed in some way (eg software hang, weird softreset) it will mess up the notification queue. That's the fix the messed up one. just make sure you don't hang your phone too much.

now I just have to tell my phone it is not any more allowed to hang...
My phone hangs too often... hm

When I call someone and they answer, phone vibrates?!?

I'm running the stock ROM for the AT&T Tilt and one thing I noticed as soon as I got the phone was that it would vibrate when someone picked up my call. I had an 8125 running WM6 so I was pretty familiar with all of the notification/alarm settings and had not ever seen this one. Sure enough I couldn't find that anywhere in Sounds/Notifications. After a little while it stopped doing it, but now it seems to do it off and on. It did it last night but I don't think it did it for all of the phone calls I made last night. I did a soft reset earlier yesterday some time I believe. It's quite annoying for the phone to vibrate when it's up against your head.
Any ideas what is causing this? I don't have any crazy programs installed, but even if I did it was doing this before I installed anything.
How about hard reset? See that fix the problem. I guess some program might be causing it.
PhoneAlarm for eg has an option to enable vibration when an outgoing call is connected, are you using it? If not, then check other programs for similar settings, even if it's programs in no way related to it
By chance, do you have Inesoft installed?
HKCU\Software\Inesoft\PIM\Settings VibroConnect = 0 (No vibrate on connect)

I am running PhoneAlarm and in the Adv. tab it was indeed checked! Thank you for this, I looked in the profile settings for Home and Work but saw nothing.
If this is an option somewhere else on the phone I'm not sure but it was definitely in the PhoneAlarm.
Thank you for the help!
Sorry to bring up a dead topic. But I'm having the same problem and I have none of the above mentioned programs D:

I have PocketMax Redial that has a setting to do that.

Just looking at the first post of that thread I would say it's the Registry_Enable_sounds_on_call setting that does it. You need to ask on that thread.
Wow. I can't believe that I didn't see that.Thank you.

Prevent Kaiser/Tilt/8925 from Vibrate on Boot?

Hi,
Own a 8125/Wizard, and it never vibrated on startup/reboot.
So, my 8925 is annoying the heck out of me when it vibrates on boot!
Any way to disable it? Doesn't seem that a registry hack would process the desired change so early in the HTC startup sequence. (Sorry if this has been asked before -- I couldn't find it in a google/wiki search.)
Thx.
Yes, it has been asked for hundreds times before; and still has no solution. You can always put it (Kaiser) in your shock if you find boot up vibration is annoyed; or you may want to take out the vibrator, too.
I don't find it annoying at all. I find it really informative so in case I turn it off and I accidentally turn it on, if I feel that vibration, I can quickly take out the battery before any sound can come out of the phone.

How often do you need to reboot? Other than software installs I rarely need to reboot, is it really that much of an inconvenience?

It was asked before? Sorry -- didn't see anything related, using searches on "disable" and "vibrate" and ("*boot*" or "*start*").

In this case, it's an inconvenience. (But if it were preference, would that change the question at all? )
I've been needing to reboot my Kaiser frequently because of a battery drain problem. Reboot triggers the vibrate, which is not helping my low battery situation.
I don't turn off my phone -- I always keep it on (unless it dies as described above), and charge every night. So, I don't need to know when it turns on. The vibrate notification on boot is only wasting battery for me -- even without a drain problem. (But I wouldn't want to permanently disable the vibrate, in case I need vibrate mode once every ~2 months or so, like in a noisy environment.)
Put it like this guys -- was there ever any good purpose for when your computer beeps on boot? Just because it can, does that mean it should? Default should be 'disabled'. Otherwise, HTC should at least provide us with an OPTION to disable! Just like the bios option to disable a computer speaker's beep on boot.
As to battery drain, that's another issue. (If anyone is curious, it's the original 1350 mAh, and it's heating to 108 F using up to 650 Ah. Haven't isolated which app might be doing it. Tried WM5 and WM6 roms. Hard resets. Reflash. Disabled BT, GPS, HSPD, and took all apps off auto-download data. Ordered new 2400 and 1600 mAh batteres, in case my battery is fried.... but I think that's just me being optimistic.)
Computer beeps on Startup

I don't know about the whole vibrate on startup thing as it does not bother me since I rarely re-boot the phone, but the beep on start up on a computer did originally (and possibly still does) serve a good purpose. The beeps were used to convey error codes. For example, on one of my old pc's, 1 beep meant things were ok. two beeps indicated an error in the processor, etc.
I know this was off post... sorry

Incoming Text Message Sound Changes Spontaneously

I have searched all over for this, but cannot seem to find anyone else having this particular problem, so I am curious. Sorry if this does not apply to you.
Here we go:
First of all, has anyone else noticed that their incoming text message notification sound gets changed occasionally to the default WM one (not the SE one) without you doing anything to change it?
Second of all, if you answered yes to the above have you noticed any correlation between the sound changing and a wired headset getting plugged in?
I am curious because I have been having this problem and I think I might have found the trigger. This has happened on every ROM (R1,R2,R3,Itje's,valkery's) I have ever flashed, so I do not think that it is a ROM specific bug. I dont know how many people use the wired headset that came with the X1, but surely if this isnt a ROM specific bug I am not the only one having trouble with it.
Is anyone else having this problem?
The same thing was happening to me, I wasn't sure why it was doing that either. I guess it wasn't that big of a deal so I decided to keep the original default one. Kind of sucks that it does that. If anyone has a solution to the problem let me know!
the only time i notice this is when i remove my memory card. As i store my ringtones on there if i remove it and a text or call comes through the X1 will default to the standard one.
Once i have reinstalled the card i can select my tone again.
does this help?
glad to hear I am not the only one.
I can understand why it would do that with the memory card removed and the sound file no longer preent, but maybe that bit of information can help us find out the real issue.
I will do some digging, as I am pretty proficient with these things. Thanks for the input guys.
I noticed it used to do that on my old X1i... it wasn't that it would randomly change the sound, it was that suddenly the sound I was using would disappear! I had to re-copy the sounds back on to my phone every other week, and I had no idea why it kept disappearing
I noticed this problem on my X1 as well.
Not sure what triggered the change to default tone.

do you use a wired headset?
I've noticed the tone changing to the default "beep" when i receive a message whilst i am on a call. Then i have to manually change it back to the one i had before.
I have the same sometimes, and also my auto brightness and optical joystick settings are changed occasionally. dunno why, but it doesn't happen very often.
I had this happen the other week. I wasn't touching the phone other than having an sms conversation over the course of a few hours with the phone going into standby between sms's. All was going well with my normal sms tone and then suddenly it changed. I hadn't touched any other settings or added or removed anything. I don't know if it is related but a couple of days later, the sound went to half volume through my speaker until I rebooted.
I don't think taking out the memory card is the issue. I've had the tone saved in the phone memory so I don't think it would be affected if I eject the memory card. I'll have to test out the wireless/wired headset to see if that does anything once I get my phone back from repair. It was supposed to come in yesterday but didn't, hopefully today.
Never happened to me.
May happen due to changing the placement of the desired sms tone in the device's memory (changing the folder).
mine has just started doing this in the past week, weird....
This happens to me every time I start SKTools, it's weird.
Hi guys
it happens to me as well...
Hi
I get this too. My sound file is saved under windows folder on the device. Can not pinoint it to an act or happening on the phone which triggers it.
This has happened to me as well. I have noticed, everytime I turn the volume off, the ringtone changes.
I had the same problem..But..
I installed a trial version of panoramic phone genius and SPB MS3.01 and later replaced phone genius with SPB PHone Suite and S2U2.
Now this no longer happens. The sound would change especially after I reset the phone (turned off and then on). Now this no longer occurs. Hope this helps.

Quiet ring on pickup Registry settings?

I am having problem with my Quiet ring on pickup. Turning it ON and OFF in Sound & Display settings does not work either. It ring at full volume level whenever a call is receive. Shaking my phone will not lower the volume either.
I have also tried changing this registry but have no luck at all
[HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila]
"DisplayBePolite" =00000001
[HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\PHONE\PhoneExtendSetting]
"EnableBePolite" =00000001
"SupportBePolite" =00000001
I think I found the problem here.
[HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\HTCSensor\GSensor]
"PhonecallBePolite" = ?
I tried to change this registry value "PhonecallBePolite" to "1" but it always go back to "0" value after soft reset.
Does anyone knows how to solve this problem or did I missed anything?
I would also like to know what are the Registries that affect this "Quiet ring on pickup"?
All help are very much appreciated.
solved!!!
Never mind. I have managed to solve the problems. Thank you for looking.

Don't you just love it when people do things like that? They figure it out and quickly leave. Yet, they'll stick around for solutions if they can't figure it out themselves. Selfishness.
I apologise for being ignorant and my late reply!!!
OK.. Back up all your precious data. (Well.. I use Microsoft MyPhone and double back-up the memory and microSDHC data on my PC and re-format all media card )
Do a Hard reset or your favorite ROM flash. Next, install all your favorite apps one at a time. Run all apps after each installation and check that everything works fine before going further. It has been about a month since my last ROM flash and my phone is very stable.
Best of luck guys!!!
im faceing the same problem with my favorite Rom
" quiet ring on pickup " is not working
[HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\HTCSensor\GSensor]
"PhonecallBePolite" = 0
and when im changing the value to 1
it wroking with me in the first ring call only
then it rest to 0 again
