Nope won't work for me. I've the dutch HTC Touch Diamond and when i want to sync it with my notebook via bluetooth, it won't work.
On my notebook is Vista Ultimate installed + bluetooth. So, when i try to connect via bluetooth with my notebook, he won't do anyting. When i sync with USB, i've no problems. So when i look to "bluetooth places", i can see there the paired mobiles:

The last one is mine. So i know that it is important to watch the services. Mine's following:
What me surprised is that i've not the possibility of the service "activesync" or "serial port". At my other device, Qtek 9090, there it was available. Now is my question, how can i activate one of these services. Because this is the reason why i (and maybe SP) couldn't connect.
My settings of bluetooth are:
Settings on phone with bluetooh-partnership:
Hardware: my notebook - (rightclick) - seriël port ticked
Mode: BT (ticked) - visibel for other devices (ticked)
Com-ports: notebook (COM9)
I hope you all have enouph information to help us.

Yup, theire is. Should i choose that?

Give it a try
After enabling this, open Active Sync on your Diamond and goto "Menu -> Connect via Bluetooth"

Nope it won't work. Maybe something with com-port?

Go to Settings->Menu->Bluetooth devices
Is your Laptop in the device list?
If yes, click it. Is "Active Sync" checked?
What happens in Active sync after clicking Menu->Connect via Bluetooth ?

Just to be sure ... with Vista you must have Mobile Device Center installed. It fooled me as well ... That dialog for syncing opt`s appear as well when you don`t have Mobile Device Center Installed. But it does not sync ...
How to check. When you double click Mobile Device Center in Configuration panel you get big screen - with place for displaying device and other options + current status of device (not connected / connected) not just those options for setting up connection

Yup, laptop is in the list. Also my BT-headset is on it. When i click on my laptop and I click on "to treat" - "modify" (bewerken), i can see the services. Just seriel port is on. It's also ticked but there is not service "active sync". That's the biggest problem i think. But how can i enable that service?
When i go to active sync and then go connect via bluetooth, he won't do anything (reason: no service active sync).

Clickable
Do you know where i can found the newest widcomm drivers?

In your PC in the bluetooth settings dialog, do you have "Windows mobile based device support"?

How do you go to that screen??

Windows Controlpanel->Bluetooth devices

When i go to control panel and there i've:
Clickable
So as you see, i've nothing of bluetooth.
Clickable

problem solved! This thread can locked!!

How did you get it to work?

I got it to work by deleting the computer on the MDA IV and look for new device again.

Using the phone's internal GPS on a pc

Is it possible to connect the phone with the usb cable and be able to use the internal gps on a pc?
Thanks
Simplest way is to have Garmin Nroute sw on your PC/laptop with Garmin mobile XT on your phone.
But if you have Garmin mobile XT on your phone, why do you want to tie it your PC? Get a BT GPS reciever and release your phone for other stuff!

thanks a lot, will try this.
If you can use Blue Tooth instead of USB, GPS2Blue works great.
I have a Tilt, and I use Delorme and Streets and Trips on my lap tops. The GPS locks on much faster than my USB GPS.
I love it!

JerryCo: Any tips for GPS2Blue
GPS2Blue looks great! Thanks for the tip.
Unfortunately, I can't seem to get it working. I know I need to add a com port under the bluetooth settings on the Kaiser, but this option is not available given my existing partnerships with several PCs. I.e.. no option to add com port is available, only blank list.
Is there something I can do to make the com port available?
Can I configure without setting up a com port on the device?

Very cool functionality can be accomplished here. Using GPSgate from www.franson.com I have successfully setup the following.
A completely mobile solution.
PPC ---Bluetooth----LAPTOP---- INTERNET---www.gpsgate.com
| \---DATA(EDGE)--/
GPS
|
DATA
www.gpsgate.com is a website that displays your current gps information.
***The PPC sends GPS and fowards internet to the LAPTOP which then sends the GPS information to a remote site, www.gpsgate.com***

Very good workaround. I was thinking at first, what is the point of this thread as you can have a GPS mapping program on your phone. Then I thought, not every location is covered by the GPS maps available..and, Google maps are free and cover virtually everywhere and look better on a PC/Laptop.
Great work guys!!

not to my knowledge. I've never heard of that.

i know motorola phones have a program called "motorola phone tools" that let you do exactly what you are talking about. so your best bet is to see if HTC releases a similar tool.

I used to use MPT all of the time and I always had to have a USB cable connected to the phone to do anything.
There is nothing out there that I have heard of.
Well, come to think of it .... I just realized that MY MOBILIER SHOULD be able to do what you're talking about
which sort of fulfills the role of what motorola phone tools was...
My Mobilier gives you the option to connect via an IP address...
Technically, if you could connect your phone to the same WIFI network as your PC and seeing if it would connect that way? Assuming it would work, My Mobilier has an option that lets you choose between connecting via USB or IP address... I've never tried it ... but apparently it's possible....

i know RDM+ allows you to control your desktop from anywhere using a internet connection. When i used to use it, i never thought about using it the other way. I would assume you would need the phone connected to the internet for this to work.
RDM+ is not freeware, you will have to purchase it. However, it does come with a free trial for u to test before making the decision.

He wants to control the phone from the PC ... not the PC from the phone.
Via Wifi.. hmm.. there are actually many programs wich enables you to connect to and other LAN PC. Like VNC. VNC basicly is a program that allows you to control an other host in your LAN area.
If you know what your PDA's LAN IP is then it should be a possibility.
For Example:
Go to your router settings and look through the hosts and see what your phone;s IP adress is.
Then start VNC and connect to that IP Adress. for example: your PC = 192.168.2.100. And your phone = 192.168.2.150.
Start VNC Server on your Phone wich i will include in this message IF IT WORKS!
open VNC and connect to IP: 192.168.2.150, wich is your phone.
Then a little screen should come up wich has your phone's today screen.
Then you should be able to control it.
EDIT:
OK it works, There are 3 programs that you need. I'll post them here in a ZIP.
First what you need to do is to get RealVNC viewer installed. Wich is VNC 4 1 2 and stuff.
Then you need to put PocketVNC.exe on your phone and start it. Tap ok in the setup screen.
Then install IP Dashboard ( ipdash_setup bla bla ) via Activesync.
This programs allows you to see your LAN IP address of your phone. It'll go on your today screen.
Then open up VNC Viewer on your PC and connect to that IP Address.
Now you can control your phone via Wifi.
Webcam is broken, sry about the vid.
Soti Pocket Controller should allow you to do that.."Connect through your ActiveSync or wired/wireless TCP/IP", listed as one of the features
Provided you can connect the mobile either via Bluetooth or WiFi

For the moment has been performed the installation and testing on Windows XP and are correct, previously in step-by-step installation for Windows XP must be installed and cywgwin with the files .bat (BT on) running.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=436982
14.- run cygwin\setup.exe, and select install from folder. select ioperm from the devel subfolder.
Unselect icons on desktop and start menu and finish.
Run cygwin.bat from c:\cygwin
type “ioperm –i” + enter and “exit” + enter
move hsect-2.1\hsect2.exe and move it to c:\cygwin\bin
15.- move the bat files from \archivos bat\ to the desktop.
16.- Run BT on.bat from your desktop and let windows install its own drivers
17.- run WF on.bat from your desktop and cancel the windows installation.

The application is fully compatible, after its installation omit any errors, if any, and we will restart the Bluetooth icon in the toolbar. With this application will be able to fully configure the services and management of Bluetooth. It's trial, although one of the link, we can find a way to leave it full!. By leaving the cursor on the icon will tell us the day we have to be able to use it after your treatment, this, it disappears.

Hey,
I just installed the BT stack, and it works perfectly!!! I can even now use the BT Audio gateway, BT headsets, etc..
Now I can make 10c local calls to any landline in Aussie from my VoIP service using a BT headset.
IT IS FANTASTIC, WELL DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Note to installers:
In case you missed the instructions, you need to follow this post and install the WLAN/BT drivers, cygwin, etc, etc... Once done, then download the new stack:
http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/bluetooth/index.php?page=download
When you are installing, it will show some errors, e.g. "...your hardware may not work properly", dont stress, just ignore these messages.
Good work!!!
not possible to disable it
we will have to make an application ourself .. or still use BT off.bat

Bluetooth is working fine in both Vista, XP and win7. It is NOT working on the SnapVue (WM) side of the Shift.
The bluetooth stack mentioned in this thread is only needed in XP.

Hey plzzz any1 help me why i cant login through wifi?!!!!!!
ActiveSync is NOT an option for RDP. I don't think you understand RDP or TCP/IP.
Most home routers do not allow you to access LAN computers through WAN names. If you want to have RDP work on your home computer from a local Wi-Fi connection you should configure a static local IP address and use that.
If you do not understand what I am trying to say you may want to learn a little about routing and IP addressing. It would be a rather long tutorial to explain the whole thing (and there are already good ones on the 'Net).

[Q] Xperia Z Bluetooth Drivers

Hello All,
I've searched the General and Q&A Forums without finding an answer, so I thought I'd post here.
Picked up my Xperia Z yesterday, and tried to pair it via Bluetooth with my work laptop, (Lenovo W520) running Windows 7 64-bit. The phone was found and paired, but there are four Bluetooth devices that drivers cannot be found for. I tried installing the Sony Media Go application in the hopes that the requisite drivers would be included, but no luck so far. I also tried forcing each device to find a driver in the Media Go drivers directory c:\program files (x86)\Sony\Media Go\drivers\ and also search Windows Update, but nothing works. The Xperia is stock, build 10.1.A.1.350.

Well, you were right - the Lenovo Bluetooth driver solved everything and I now have all the usual AV and headset profile options as well as proximity locking and even the ability to use my PC keyboard and mouse to remote control my phone. I'm not sure how useful this is yet, but might come in handy if I ever get an MHL to HDMI cable!

Good day,
I have an similar issue like the OP of this thread:
I bought an Hama Nano-Bluetooth-USB-Adapter Version 2.1 + EDR Class2 and it worked fine with my old Galaxy S1.
Now I bought the Xperia Z and can't really connect with my computer.
I used as app "Bluetooth Remote PC" but it doesn't work (it worked well with Galaxy S1), so what can I actually do?
I didn't need a driver with Galaxy S1 but it seems I need one for Xperia Z.
I tried everything, what I found on the internet (actual drivers for the Bluetooth-USB-Adapter, some Bluetooth program which was strangely trail and so on), but nothing helps.
Now I think the problem might be the Xperia Z but I don't have any idea how to solve it.
Any ideas?
Regards.
Still in trouble here

Dear Sushifiend, I'm facing the same problem here. But I'd updated the Bluetooht driver (//support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS029104) both on my X1 (Windows 7 64) and Twist (Windows 8) with no luck.
Can you share the URL of driver update that worked for you?
Thank you very much!
Did you manage to get the Remote Keyboard feature working?
Mine connects the bluetooth and laptop fine but that feature won't work.

Just ignore those "!" devices
... those four (five) "Bluetooth Peripheral Devices" are also on my device manager with exclamation mark....
1. but when i tried to send a file and received a file from my laptop to and from xperia z (vise versa),.. it works just fine! for me... just ignore those four "!" ....
2. On your computer, right-click on your bluetooth icon status (mine is located at notification area, and look for the send or receive and click it!
3. hope this helps.
