then when i disconnect and try login again that not working....
Hey plzzz any1 help me why i cant login through wifi?!!!!!!
ActiveSync is NOT an option for RDP. I don't think you understand RDP or TCP/IP.
Most home routers do not allow you to access LAN computers through WAN names. If you want to have RDP work on your home computer from a local Wi-Fi connection you should configure a static local IP address and use that.
If you do not understand what I am trying to say you may want to learn a little about routing and IP addressing. It would be a rather long tutorial to explain the whole thing (and there are already good ones on the 'Net).

I wanna know if there is an app or something where i can control my t-mobile wing from my laptop without using a USB cable?
not to my knowledge. I've never heard of that.
EDIT : JUST REMEMBERED SOMETHING ... SEE MY POST BELOW
i know motorola phones have a program called "motorola phone tools" that let you do exactly what you are talking about. so your best bet is to see if HTC releases a similar tool.

I used to use MPT all of the time and I always had to have a USB cable connected to the phone to do anything.
There is nothing out there that I have heard of.
Well, come to think of it .... I just realized that MY MOBILIER SHOULD be able to do what you're talking about
which sort of fulfills the role of what motorola phone tools was...
My Mobilier gives you the option to connect via an IP address...
Technically, if you could connect your phone to the same WIFI network as your PC and seeing if it would connect that way? Assuming it would work, My Mobilier has an option that lets you choose between connecting via USB or IP address... I've never tried it ... but apparently it's possible....

i know RDM+ allows you to control your desktop from anywhere using a internet connection. When i used to use it, i never thought about using it the other way. I would assume you would need the phone connected to the internet for this to work.
RDM+ is not freeware, you will have to purchase it. However, it does come with a free trial for u to test before making the decision.

i used mpt with bluetooth, it limited some of the capabilities as compared to usb, but worked - none the less
He wants to control the phone from the PC ... not the PC from the phone.
Via Wifi.. hmm.. there are actually many programs wich enables you to connect to and other LAN PC. Like VNC. VNC basicly is a program that allows you to control an other host in your LAN area.
If you know what your PDA's LAN IP is then it should be a possibility.
For Example:
Go to your router settings and look through the hosts and see what your phone;s IP adress is.
Then start VNC and connect to that IP Adress. for example: your PC = 192.168.2.100. And your phone = 192.168.2.150.
Start VNC Server on your Phone wich i will include in this message IF IT WORKS!
open VNC and connect to IP: 192.168.2.150, wich is your phone.
Then a little screen should come up wich has your phone's today screen.
Then you should be able to control it.
EDIT:
OK it works, There are 3 programs that you need. I'll post them here in a ZIP.
First what you need to do is to get RealVNC viewer installed. Wich is VNC 4 1 2 and stuff.
Then you need to put PocketVNC.exe on your phone and start it. Tap ok in the setup screen.
Then install IP Dashboard ( ipdash_setup bla bla ) via Activesync.
This programs allows you to see your LAN IP address of your phone. It'll go on your today screen.
Then open up VNC Viewer on your PC and connect to that IP Address.
Now you can control your phone via Wifi.
Webcam is broken, sry about the vid.
Soti Pocket Controller should allow you to do that.."Connect through your ActiveSync or wired/wireless TCP/IP", listed as one of the features
Provided you can connect the mobile either via Bluetooth or WiFi

I second that.... I am using Version 1.25 although there is an update to V1.30. I do not want to update since the version I have works flawlessly and I am used to it.
super easy, use file explorer or whatever software you use that does the same thing, go into the phones "windows" folder, go down to the program called internet sharing, copy it. Now go to you folder in the windows folder called "start menu" then "programs" now paste the program here or one of the subfolders. DO NOT PASTE SHORTCUT. now you should be able to go under start menu programs and start the program. You will probably notice that it says something like at&t isp, change that to media net, conect to your computer and press the tab that sais connect and you should be golden.

kemp509 - You rock! Works like a charm. I'm using it as I type this message. I can't wait to use it the next time I'm out of WiFi range.
BTW - I tested my speeds at http://www.speedtest.net/ and it turns out that my AT&T network has faster download speed then my home broadband by 35%! Upload was the same.
Wow...
I guess on my side my mobile connection won't equal my home connection anytime soon

For the moment has been performed the installation and testing on Windows XP and are correct, previously in step-by-step installation for Windows XP must be installed and cywgwin with the files .bat (BT on) running.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=436982
14.- run cygwin\setup.exe, and select install from folder. select ioperm from the devel subfolder.
Unselect icons on desktop and start menu and finish.
Run cygwin.bat from c:\cygwin
type “ioperm –i” + enter and “exit” + enter
move hsect-2.1\hsect2.exe and move it to c:\cygwin\bin
15.- move the bat files from \archivos bat\ to the desktop.
16.- Run BT on.bat from your desktop and let windows install its own drivers
17.- run WF on.bat from your desktop and cancel the windows installation.
18.- copy HTC Shift XP Drivers\WLAN\sdbus.sys to c:\windows\system32\drivers\ say yes to the replace dialog and reboot.

The application is fully compatible, after its installation omit any errors, if any, and we will restart the Bluetooth icon in the toolbar. With this application will be able to fully configure the services and management of Bluetooth. It's trial, although one of the link, we can find a way to leave it full!. By leaving the cursor on the icon will tell us the day we have to be able to use it after your treatment, this, it disappears.

Best regards.
Hey,
I just installed the BT stack, and it works perfectly!!! I can even now use the BT Audio gateway, BT headsets, etc..
Now I can make 10c local calls to any landline in Aussie from my VoIP service using a BT headset.
IT IS FANTASTIC, WELL DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Note to installers:
In case you missed the instructions, you need to follow this post and install the WLAN/BT drivers, cygwin, etc, etc... Once done, then download the new stack:
http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/bluetooth/index.php?page=download
When you are installing, it will show some errors, e.g. "...your hardware may not work properly", dont stress, just ignore these messages.
Good work!!!
not possible to disable it
we will have to make an application ourself .. or still use BT off.bat

I'm not quite sure what your question is.
Bluetooth is working fine in both Vista, XP and win7. It is NOT working on the SnapVue (WM) side of the Shift.
The bluetooth stack mentioned in this thread is only needed in XP.
bluetooth WM
how far are we from getting the bluetooth on snapview? to use with phone, or even a headset with mic? anybody heard anything?
Now that I have formally Introduced myself, I'm having issues with Accessing my NAS device. I've searched like crazy on the boards and cant seem to find anything along the issues that I've been having, even going as far as changing some registry items
The NAS Device in question is an Addonics NAS adapter with a Kingston 64GB thumbdrive plugged into it, and it's physically connected by CAT5 cable to my Wireless router - netgear DG834GT. I followed the instructions in the Manuals for getting it started ( quick install, and user manual - both PDF). There are 2 SMB profiles, one that I set up myself with a password, and a Guest profile without a password that was there by default.

and I've been able to access it appropriately the first time, through WIFI, by going through in windows : start -> run -> the Device's assigned IP (\\192.168.0.3) or the device's "name" ("\\kingston64GB) I'm able to get through to the thumbdrive without a problem, I've since applied shortcuts to the drive on My Laptop itself.
However I'm also trying to access the NAS through Both my winmo devices (kaiser and Experia, both running winmo 6.1, stock roms ) over wifi and I'm having no Joy. I've even tried going through The total command program that i saw elsewhere , and I still get the same thing happenening.
I go File explorer -> Menu -> go to -> open path -> new path I enter either the IP or device name that I mentioned Earlier and I get the a screen asking for a username, password and a "Domain"
Neither username and password combo that have been set up work with this, And I don't even know if there's a Correct "domain" for this.
Any help will be much appreciated, thanks in advance
Nas access
Hi deed-elvis,
Think the problem is that your nas system runs a samba server for file sharing. Myself i run a linux server at home and have the same issues.
And i haven't found a way to connect samba using windows mobile
Yup,
I've googled my fingers Raw, and it seems Winmo and Samba Do not want to play with each other.
Even The Tech support people at addonics agree on that front (see attatched)
NAS workaround
I had similar problems, however, there is a workaround: if your nas supports FTP, you can connect in that way. I use total commander on my winmo to connect to my Linux based NAS. For some reason this only seems to work over wifi; it seems that something about the WAN network (AT&T) makes my FTP unhappy.
try with htc network plug in and the share folder must have free access without passwords or user names
@wolframio74 I've tried the NAS setup utility, and at the very least i have to set up a username for it, it doesn't want to let me set up a profile with neither filled in =/
@afgncaap I'll try setting up FTP, I'll let you know how it goes
So one of the main Issues with my Tab S8 Ultra is that transferring files between my PC and my android devices over smb is super slow for some unknown reason.
I made this simple ftp server and got a huge boost in transfer speeds, thought I would share it here might be useful to someone hopefully.

Features:
Easy to run when needed just place in folder you want to share and run just close the console when done to stop the server.
Small and Light Weight on system resources.
Maxes out your Lan throughput. Getting 1Gbps transfer speeds over Wifi 6 from Android device to PC ymmv though.
Only works In Local area network no online connections are made.
FTP Version Notice:
FTP Connections are not encrypted so make sure to use it on a secure private network and not on public.
By default the server will listen on Local Host (127.0.0.1) on Port 2121 If you can't connect edit the config file with the IP address of your device.
Default Username: user
Default Password: 12345
Please report bugs if you find any and if you want to see extra features feel free to recommend some.
HTTP Version Notice:
If the FTP Version Is still slow you can try the HTTP version and Download/Upload files to your Tab through the browser It's a lot faster when uploading AP files to the Tab S8.
You can also edit bind ipaddress and port in Config.ini
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Version 1.01 FTP Changes:
Added Ability to configure the default port via Config.ini file.
Version 1.01 HTTP Changes:
Added Some CSS.
[WinError 10013] An attempt was made to access a socket in a way forbidden by its access permissions
p.s.
Why is FileZilla Server not good for you?
Try run as administrator.
Nothing wrong with Filezilla. I made this for simplicity sake and for being lightweight. Just run in folder you want to share over ftp transfer AP file or anyother file and close when done.

That's Weird [WinError 10013] Error Shouldn't occur the program isn't using a port below 1024 It's using port 2121 which shouldn't even require admin privileges.
Tested and Works fine on multiple Windows 11 PC's.
Edit:
Make sure no other program on your system is using port 2121 and your network interface is working with no issues.
Port 2121 is used by FileZilla and I don't want to change that. How can I change the port in config.ini?

Added a new version to post see above.
You can choose a different port now just change the default port in Config.ini
Config format is ip : port without spaces.
