who has it? I see cooked within a couple roms but no where to be found being separate.
is there any significant improvements in this build or is it just some different look? i use htc home that came with my device (original htc ROM) and it works fine, i don't need anything more than that (considering htc home). if you need just some diamond look for htc home you can find some skins for HHC on xda. i recently saw one that looks really good, but can't remember where. it could be related to HHC threads.
talking about diamond look, here is a nice one if you're into diamond
i was hoping it was related to that manila project with touchflo 3d that just got suspended on research. i'm also hunting for the diamond's version of cameraalbum
i guess kaiser can't run touch flo 3d proper even if it is fully optimized for QVGA because of it's poor video performance (driver issue). besides that i don't really see any advantages of diamond or it's look. for me it's much better to have original htc home theme than diamond one. original looks much better and more suitable for kaiser. and as for touch flo 3d, there is no use of it without some quality video support for kaiser.
edit: and the camera album from diamond is having some issues on kaiser as i recall. i, in general, i don't see what's so interesting about diamond (except drivers)

someone know a rom version like is in this video for HTC P3600? thanks

Hi Marius -
You are looking at two different pieces of software on that phone.
The first one is the HTC Home screen for the TyTNII, which HAS been copied over to the Trinity. You can tell if that is the home screen used in the ROM because it will usually be shown as HTC Home Kaiser or something similar. You can also install this using a standalone CAB file. Search the board to find the cab, it's in the Trinity WM6 portion of the board.
The second one is a piece of software called Touchflo. The real Touchflo software requires that the touchscreen hardware be the same as the Kaiser or the HTC Touch. Those two phones use different touchscreen hardware (physical chips and the digitizer screen) than the Trinity. So, no one has been successful using the real Touchflo software on the Trinity, and probably never will.
However, there have been some attempts to get the same functions from other software. I've seen something called alphatouchflo, and there are other packages. Note that they do not have all of the same functionality. For example, I haven't seen any of them that could allow use f the scrolling feature to replace sidebar scrolling. I've only seen good scrolling of a third-party contacts list (see PocketCM as an example). This software is also available in a standalone CAB file if you like.
There is a thread devoted explicitly to using Touch Flo on the Trinity in the WM 6 section. If you take a minute or two you can easily find it.
Good luck!
Mike
yes... but i`m looking for rom. the rom have htc home screen instaled in it.
and in this video the scrolling works perfect... i read on the htc p3600 this "tochflo" have some problems. but on other devices these cooked rom with "touchflo" work good. i still looking and waiting for a good rom wm6(not a aplication "touchflo"). now i have wm5.

Hi Marius -
The other devices that use Touchflo have different hardware which is why the Touchflo works for them. The device shown in the video is the HTC Prophet series, which uses the same touch screen as the Kaiser/TyTN II (which is different form the Trinity). You will not find any software or ROMs that can run the Touchflo software on the Trinity. As far as CAB software compared to a ROM, the only difference is in the method of installing. It doesn't matter if you install the software using a CAB file or if it is already included in a ROM, except that you can remove software installed using a CAB if you don't like it.
I suggest you continue watching the thread about Touchflo on the Trinity in the WM6 folder. That thread contains the most current information about using Touchflo on the Trinity.
Mike

The HTC CIO may be curled up in a corner crying now...
crying?
i think he has tears in his eyes from laughing.
why do a lot of people always insist that older is better.
touchflo 3d has way more options and is much fingerfriendlier than the old version.
so just a tip: do not use your stylus, but use your fingers. you will find that using the touch flo 3d really is a lot easier
looks beautiful runs terrible
i gave up! touchflow 3D, simply too slow and couldnt catch up with my finger.
will leave it for showing off when demo to friends only...
Yeah, it's not easier at all. It's much more work to get to the media player now, where as I could assign it to a hardware key on the Kaiser. Navigating the Kaiser with keyboard mnemonics was definitely faster and easier. TouchFLO 3D requires so much more finger/hand/eye movement in order to access the same information that would have been already on your screen right away.
I also hate having to scroll through all of the Cities in the US in order to get to Yonkers, NY for the weather. It was way easier when I could just type the name of the City in the HTC Home plug in. These iPhone-style lists are horribly frustrating to use.
I, think the regular touchflo is simpler to use because it is exactly that (simple) & boring... a few tabs and thats it. However TouchFlo3D has much more options, looks sweet, touch friendly & interactive; the fact that it takes more time to getting use to or figuring out does not bother me at all.
With this new plugin I rarely see the windows UI and I think that makes a huge difference, at least for me it does.
Another point to consider is how you use the device or what for? I use it primarily for the web, weather, texting & GPS & all of these are extremely easy for me to get to. As far as the extra scrolling to choose a specific city under weather should not be in issue, I set my city & a couple others in no-time when I got my phone and that's it no more scrolling.
I remember some time ago nokia, samsung, SE, mortorola etc all the big names done some stuidies and figured out the max number of key presses it should take to get to ANY menu option. It seems with all this fancy scrolling lists and interfaces thats lost now.
Even in an iphone - which you may hate, but is probably the best touch interface - its not exactly fast to get to things.

I've said this before - in experiments comparing the iPhone and the old TouchFLO, it was faster on average to get to things using TouchFLO.

Well, the devices are aimed at completely different markets. HTC generally aim their devices with keyboards at business users, whereas the Touch Diamond is a high-end general consumer product.

There are now tweaks that will speed up TouchFLO 3D quite a lot. Search this forum.
so......
will the old type of htc home plug in work with diamond?
i too was happy using it (on my trinity)
would be nice to have the choice
with the tabs you had people..weather apps...and more
so does anyone know before i bugger my diamond up
I think TouchFlow 3D is great, easy to use and looks very nice.
The only thing I'm missing are my tasks on the Todayscreen. On my Touch I used them as a reminder for certain things, but when you don't see them right away when turning on the phone they're useless.
I installed a Version of HTC Home Plugin earlier today on my dad's diamond and well... i guess it just isn't fit for a VGA Display. It is very small and the porportions are messed up. Anyone already tried to get HTC Home to work or knows of any VGA Version maybe?
I used to use Touch Commander on my Asus P750, as far as I'm concerned it's an exact copy which will work in VGA mode, as the P750 also had a VGA screen.
http://www.touch-commander.com/
But then again, with Dutty's ROM and the registry tweaks, TF3D runs pretty smooth.

Alright, I have had this issue too. Here is a cab for the Home Plugin for VGA devices (works on my TP).
I AM NOT TAKING CREDIT FOR THIS, JUST SHARING THE .CAB I FOUND SOMEWHERE ON THIS FORUM LOOKING FOR THIS. MADE BY PJC
Hope this helps out those who need it.
EDIT: For some reason could not upload file, nonetheless, I found the download, click on the link and download. http://rapidshare.com/files/128745613/PJC_HTCHome.cab

Hello, i have bought my htc diamond yesterday, and i don't have the new interface with touchflo 3d. I have the old classic menu on windows mobile! In the menu, at settings-today-items i can't find touchflo, but i have the application, in settings menu ( as application).. help me, how can i activate touch flo
I can't understand why TouchFlo isn't already selected, but if it is indeed installed on your device, you activate it by...
Start...
Settings...
Personal tab...
Today...
Items tab...
Tick "TouchFlo 3D" and remove all other ticks
This should do the trick. If TouchFlo isn't showing in the "Items" list, then your device doesn't have it installed...
Oh Dear!
My friend called me up the other day with exactly the same issue. He had seen videos on youtube demonstrating the touchflo3d running and he realy liked the look of the way you could flick through contacts and messages.
He rushed down to the local tmobile store and demanded his diamond (compact iv)
He rushed home, unpacked the phone and was greeted with windows 6.1 standard screens throughout.
THE TMOBILE STAFF SOLD HIM THE MDA TOUCH!! (HTC VOGUE) nOT THE DIAMOND! They heard key words and thought of commission
Worse still, he opened the box and could not return the phone!
Honestly i doubt that this has happend to you, just thought it was a relevant funny story. Pretty sure one of the helpfull guys on here will provide you the assistance you need swiftly!
^^^Ouch... I would've flipped out.
don't know if there's a cab for that, you should search this forum and find out.
if not, learn how to flash another rom and problem solved
I have the HTC DIAMOND, not the htc vogue, LOL
I can't find the TouchFlo 3D in the items list. Should i flash my diamond? How can i do this? Thank you very much

At this forum there was a cab file including touchflo 3.x or 3.8. Try to search for it.
guys i'm planing on buying either touch diamond or xda diamond (ignito)
i kinda like the xda more mostly because of the back cover.. but does boh of them share the same specs ??.. and i also heard that xdas are a bit slower then htc phones.. is that true ?.. and if this true can i un-brand the phone and make similar to htc ??
so if anyone could help .. plz reply
thanks,
Hi,
As far as i know, owning a Touch Diamond, you can remove the o2 touch flo software with flashing to a new rom. But seeing as I personally dont like Touch Flo, its laggy slow and does eat battery, I use SPB.
So otherwise the 2 phones should be the same.
why are you asking a question about buying a device on the Development and Hacking section?
Moved to the Diamond section.
I've got the Ignito and it's identical, (apart from the more professional battery cover).
You don't even need to flash the ROM to remove the O2 branding in TF3D. Just use TF3d Config and replace the theme with the default HTC black or whatever. It ships with v1.93 and I've had no problems with speed or anything yet, however I'm going to flash with Dutty's ROM once the bugs are all ironed out.
I cant get my theme to change, it only changes the top and bottom bars colours but the centre section remains the same o2 blue
How can i change the theme please ??
i have a ignito and have installed the latest ROM from 2.03 HTC (after installing hard SPL ofcourse)..its much faster and smoother
as for the touchflo being laggy, i never felt so with the 1.93 and 2.03 roms. Well, with the earlier roms it.

..go to Start> Settings> Today and select any other theme and once you are done, switch back to HTC BLACK.
Hi to all,i'm looking for a qwerty-keyboard phone for my gf,and i can't afford umts Blackberry (she has h3g sim),is this phone a good choice, even if it's really old?
I've found it for 90 €,it seems good to me,but i don't want to buy a too slow device.
I'm used to HTC Diamond, which has slightly better hardware but suffers using 3d manila and stuff "overrated" for its hw (despite the claims they sold it with in the past ).
Is Tytn II still good for 2d stuff and normal everyday usage?
I even see it has a dedicated android section,so maybe its better than diamond at handling it,this would be sweet too
Let me know,thanks for help
The build quility is superb, an incredible bit of engineering.
Graphics can be slow for heavy gamers or GPS applications. I really liked mine, only moved on as had it stolen.
I was on a 6.1 standard ROM & it ran very well for all basic phone tasks such as emailing sms/mms ect & handling office docs was good too.
I used it as a modem for notebook internet too. Wifi & BT worked ok & keyboard plus d-pad were nice in function.
Only downside is the weight of the device but for the price today it is incredible value for money, you will only find a few devices that feel such quality in build.
The tilt screen is very cool & they do look good sat on a desk in full tilt.
If she likes the look of it get it, plenty of tweaks & support for the Kaiser so should still be a fun device.
Not so good that it suffers gps apps, but i guess its normal...
And is it good to use limiting touchscreen inputs (she hates touchscreen )?
I mean, except for opening start menu,is it usable with hardware buttons, more than touch?
Yes it is very good in terms of button function.
I improved button function by using mortscripts that would change button function pending on active window & reg keys such as headphones connected, active sync connect ect.
Even the screen is quite good when you need to use it.
Touchscreens are over rated in usability, the touch diamond 2 would of been fantastic if it had a small joy stick d-pad in the centre under buttons but no you have to struggle with that ****e zoom bar touch panel which only has movement in 2 directions.
Tactile feel of buttons can never be replaced by a screen period.
I could do functions on my Kaiser without looking at it as buttons could act like brale.
The slow graphic issue didn't seem that bad to me, I used mapking & Garmin with no issues & played games such as Duke Nukem without issues.
I'm on a touch pro at the moment, I like it but miss the solid build of the Kaiser, it feels unbreakable ...
You could also look at the HTC S710 !
Just bought for my gf...its ****ing awesome, compared to my plastic-breaking-with-breath diamond :asd:
Just waiting to learn how to unlock
Speaking about cooked rom,any suggestion about a speedy rom (not necessarily manila,it just should be "handy to use" and light)?
And should i try android (aka is it fast and functional enough?)
Thanks everybody
edit: oh,and how can i check if it has hardspl installed already?
I was on latest standard rom with graphics driver from HTCCA.
I would start off on a standard ROM unless you spot an interesting custom ROM which has solid feedback.
To view HardSPL version go to bootloader mode:
-Enter Bootloader mode: Hold Camera + Power buttons together and reset with stylus
(exit bootloader by pressing soft reset button)
-HardReset: Hold Talk and End soft key - Reset :When prompted push Green Talk Button
This is the unlock tools I used: (Not sure if supports 3 network !)

Go to the ROM development section, read through the FAQ links. That will give you some basic ideas what is available, etc.
If you want great batt life with plenty of memory, use WM 6.1, not 6.5 ..
To know which ROM is best, read through the last pages (10 - 20)of each thread, the feedback from the users will give you overall view. Why I suggested 10-20, because for old ROM that chef has left, recent posts are usually useless, repeating old questions again and again.

Link below:
http://www.htcclassaction.org/download/HTC-CA-Kaiser-Drivers.cab
It is un-installable & should be no problem.
Make sure that stock 6.1 is the latest release. I can dig out a serial if you require ROM downloading direct from htc website.
how can i find if it's the latest release (i thought there was just one)?
I should have a serial number on mine too,for downloading,or am i missing something?
Thanks for all your help,anyway
@anagarika:wm 6.1 is for sure, even my diamond suffers from 6.5
ps:i entered bootloader,it says SPL 3.29,i guess it's still the original one
Latest HTC generic ROM is:
HTC TyTN II_RUU_Kaiser_HTC_WWE_3.28.405.0_radio_sign_25.83.40.02_1.65.17.56_Ship.exe
You can see ROM version in Settings device information.
If your device is branded your serial will not work with HTC website, so you will need a serial of a generic HTC kaiser ;-)
Your SPL is original. Installing the hardSPL is easy & unlocking can be quite straight forward but may require downgrading to wm6 ROM to unlock & then upgrading to a 6.1 rom of your choice.
My rom is 3.29.408.o ITA,other stuff is lke you posted...i guess it's the latest one then
Newest Italian is:
_HTC TyTN II_WM6.1_MR2_RUU_Kaiser_HTC_ITA_3.29.408.0_radio_sign_25.83.40.02_1.65.17.56_Ship.zip
So looks like your on newest ROM.
I already had d3d drivers ("previous version will be uninstalled")...all these concerns for nothing
Anyway i installed spb mobile shell 3.5,themed,and it's a good mid-point between eyecandy and memory usage...
I only have some hang-ups when i make some operations too fast (e.g. i open and reclose very fast an app),making me have to reboot the phone...but it only happens sometimes, and i guess it's related to mobile shell
I tried to install updated camera app yesterday (nadavi 5.xx) but then camera screen turned black,so i uninstalled.
I installed htc album too,but its menus are blank (i can select them with left and right keys, but nothing's written down)...do you know which version of these packages works for sure?
edit:i fixed camera problem, but album issue is still there, although i tried two different versions
Mmm don't know which HTC album viewer is your best option, I used Resco Photo viewer Pro as far surpases the HTC app.
Tried it,perfect program
Thanks a lot (i think there's no way to oc the cpu a little, right?)
Nope, just don't use CPU & graphic heavy software. Mine run sweet & was very usable.
