u can have as much plugins as u want.(spb monitor, battery status, ....)
for the missed calls and sms, u can use rltoday, but there are a lot of plugins that do that.

thanks for your quick answer! but if i have two battery status plugins running at the same time and change the theme on one, will it change the them on the other one also? i guess i'll just have to try it
edit: just tried and i forgot it only list battery status once on the plugins list. i guess i could try it with ultimate launch
ok so i tried using a combine tab with ultimate launch and added two battery status plugins. it did list in the the ul config menu that there were 2 battery status plugins running but when i saved and closed it there was still only 1 on the today screen. it may not be possible. i thought you would have modify the name or directory battery status went into after installed and then install it again....i not very good with this stuff as you can see lol.

I thought you would have one battery status plugin and one another plugin(spb monitor or something different).
Dont know if its possible to have 2 exactly same today plugins on screen.
Edit: try this: one battery status on today(settings/personal/today and check battery status) and one battery status as part of ultimate launcher

oh well i guess its not possible thanks for your help tho!
why don't you just edit the xml files, combine both theme into one?
i'm sure that would be alot easier

honestly because i didn't know a thing about xml lol. but since i posted this i started to learn it and i realized how easy it is to modify the xml when you already have the code and files to load
thanks for the idea!
yea
with existing xml
it's really easy to modify
basically cut/paste plus change change file location
im pretty sure if you have two lines of info with batterystatus you need to click/tap on the leftmost part of the line and it will switch to display the next line of info

I've already found how to change the order of tabs (and which tabs), by changing a registry key.
Does anyone know/remember how i can change the music tab from linking to WMP instead of the (horrible) audiomanager ?
Tips very much appreciated...
Tell more about that registry keys...
Maybe you can try this :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=319308
And let us know if it is working fine
Thanks my friend, it's fine...
Thanks....this works great !
Got amazing results for myself, very happy. Thanks for the work.
Here is what I got:
Removed the 5th tab, didn't use it
Changed the clock to something much more modern
Weather now works ok for me. had a problem before, probably because of the Hebrew Add On.
Icons by Schaps
Nice ...
However, is it possible to reduce the height of the clock?
Because in my opinion, it is TOO BIG ! ... I prefer to add more space for the appointments, tasks, etc ...
Also, is it possible to DUPLICATE the program shortcut tab ?

I agree with the first request. I also do not think the clock should be so big. Don't know if there is an answer, I think it is part of the design.

Third! on the size of the clock
When you only have a couple of inches of screen real estate its ridiculous to have a clock you can read from 3 miles!
yeah, the clock is WAY too big.
eric b
I was thinking the same about the clock. I think they overdid it, especially while in landscape mode. Blocks the whole screen
I'd love to get rid of the clock. I like LVM better. Also is there a way to unpin the plugin?

That HTC customizer app is pretty handy. It allowed me to unpin the plugin so now the clock size isnt really a isue. Thanks.
Hello,
since battery life of the S730 is not very long, i would like to see a more detailed battery information, that is available by just pressing one button.
I searched the internet for some application or tweak that does the trick, but no success.
I was thinking about a replacement for the normal battery icon that shows the status in percentage, also when recharging.
Another idea is to add the battery status in percentage in the information screen that you see when you unlock the keypad of the S730.
Does anybody know of an application or tweak for this?
Greetz,
Rob
Just install SmartMonitor plugin and a cool homescreen that uses it (here are a few : Cool Homescreens for S730)
I had to use SmartMonitor 0.9.5.1, because the latest (0.9.6.0) was giving me some input lag
I recommend bLifePlugin. Its a plugin for homescreen that displays battery %, battery life (number of hours until the batteries run out), and few other statistics. Its free and small.
I just use start>8(settings)>9(Power management). quick and easy enough.
Thanks guys, I'll check those apps and see what i'm going to use!
gr. Rob
I've been using SmartMonitor with a modified HTC Home screen - the attached homescreen puts the battery % below the bar icon, with the free RAM next to it. (I've also tweaked the calendar plugin and added Profile and MRU details)

Hi Madferret,
sounds great! I see there is a xml file in the zip. What do I have to do with that, to get it working?
gr. Rob
I already found out where to put the xml file, but it doesn't show battery status. I guess that is because I don't have smartmonitor. Could anyone post the cab file for smartmonitor?
gr. Rob
Et voilà
Regards
Thanks a lot! It works.
All this new functionality asks for a lot of tweaking!
I already tried to modify madferret's xml file to get rid of the 'profile' section of his home screen, but the s730 doesn't recognise the new xml file. I named it Rob.01.xml.
How do I get it to work?
Use crimson editor to edit your .xml file
http://www.crimsoneditor.com/
Regards
Still doesn't work. I opened the file from madferret with crimsoneditor and just modified the author and title and did save as "Rob.02.xml".
Then copied to \application data\home and tried to select it in the settings for the home screen. But it was nowhere to be found!
Anyone knows why?
Please help! Rob
Try this
Regards
I don't know what happened, but the things I did this afternoon and didn't work, do work now.
I guess it has to do with the computer at work.
I'm going to tweak the home screen I have now and I'm sure it's going to be a neat home screen for me. Maybe I'll post it some day!
thanks guys!
Sorry for the delay, I've been out of touch for the past week or so!
For a homescreen file to work the filename MUST end in .home.xml - you can put anything you like before that. Change your file to Rob.02.Home.xml and it should work. Also make sure it's in Application Data/Home. See http://tinyurl.com/47o4 for some info on homescreens (pre WM5 but still relevant).
I should also have mentioned that as well as the SmartMonitor plugin I also have the PtkslApptPlugIn running in place of the default calendar (it gives a scrolling display and always shows the next appt if you have nothing for the present day) - http://www.patricktrentsullivan.com/products.htm. All you need to do to revert is copy the original calendar plugin XML code from the default HTC.Home.xml to your file in place of my code.
@madferret:
the information from this thread helped me to tweak the homescreen, and now i'm quite pleased with the result. Thanks for the help. I am at my work now, and it is not possible to upload a screen shot. But now i have a battery meter at the top of the screen. It is the battery/memory meter I found in batt.htc.home.xml. Then the htc clock, without the message notification bar. Then comes the bar with small icons from the last used applications (rmu), which I also found in one of the homescreens posted here. Then comes the agenda from the homescreen from smartmonitor, which shows upcoming appointments better then the standard htc homescreen does.
All of this fills the complete 2.4" screen and I'm very pleased with it. A wysiwyg homescreen editor would have been helpfull, because I don't have a lot of time to spend on these things.
gr. Rob
Pleased to be of help
I thought the SmartMonitor home screen just uses the standard calendar plugin?
If you're looking for a WYSIWYG home screen editor there are a few out there but a lot are based on the 2003 version. I found a free one at www.madbeetle.com, useful for getting the basics covered.
is this with wm6 or what os? maybe at the wrong thread point me the rite way please>>>themes for wm6 or a very good generator>>>i have ms theme gen 2002
Im sorry if this has been asked before, but i couldnt think of any terms to search for.
Im running dutty's 6.1 ROM and would like to remove the 5 icons in the middle of the screen. The icons are the ones for photo viewer, new task, camera music and phone. Is there a way that i can just remove this entire bar?
or, if possible, is it possible i can mix & match the icons i listed above with the 5 other icons which are displayed above them on the phone (home, weather, music, phone sounds and quick launch).
For example, i like the weather icon, music icon, phone sounds, home and new task icons so is there a way i could just have these 5 in a bar toegther, and bin the other 5 i dont use?
thanks guys

i find so many of them, but jest wonder who is the best apps that show the current battery percent, in the task bar or widget...
I actually use extended controls. It's a widget that looks like the standard android Power Control widget. You can customize it to have loads of controls and the battery percentage. I can't remember how much it is in the market, but its definitely worth it.

If there's a full root we could modify the framework-res.apk and get a modified battery icon in the notification bar. Way better..
My favorite: BattStatt. It's a widget for your screen. Has various sizes, and shows your battery in words.
Try BatteryIndicator
SwitchPro also does it, and worth getting anyway.
try this,
press screen or enter personalize,
chooseshortcut
then
settings
then
battery use
basic but good

I second this. Very simplistic and nice. Customizable so you can choose a color that suits your current background. Along with Tajm you'll have a nice clean setup on home screen or lock screen (Widgetlocker ($1.99) allows you to put widgets on the lockscreen along with custom sliders. I recommend a looksy).

Thanks from me too, it's great, just what I wanted!
BTW, as I said on the other thread, I just wonder if this (kind of) software could shorten battery life, having to do its duties to refresh all the time?

From the linked topic:
- the Circular Battery Indicator does not use a lot of battery resources, the device broadcasts a message when the battery status changes, the app catches this broadcast and update itself to show the right percentage, it is as simple as that, so it is extremely light weight on the CPU.

Oops, thanks, seems like I was a bit too lazy
I had read about the existence of this 'broadcast' system elsewhere, but I was worried because before of this app I used a widget (BatteryIcon if I remember) that had a 'refresh time' to choose in the settings and so I thought (that) app had to 'ask' the system the actual battery level every time. Seems like this one is much better developed so, good to be known, I like it very much, also the ability to have the 'battery use' page open in a bunch of seconds is just all I need

hi all.. Wizz Bar is Mini Apps tray for your tablet
essentially shortcuts to some functions some applications you are likely to need quick access to, like Browser, youtube or Note
Enjoy
It would be great if there was 'really' a way to add the phone app to the Verizon version.

3 - then Select Upload system file
4 - upload your framework-res

ok I'll try it. Thank you very much
wow, thanks a lot ssaass.
Just a q, do we have to use CWM to upload this framework res file or can we just replace it manually? (All I did was use a battery mod)
yeah just replace it ( framework res )
I tried replacing it and the battery icons became very squished. I have attached a screenshot.
Any solution?

no one have a answer about that problem ?
Is there a way to sort the bar?
It would be nice to be able to re-arrange the items without having to remove them and install in the order you want.

I just opened the framework-res file and modified the buttons (one by one) to make them smaller (it should be a maximum of 16 px wide, I made them 16*38). There is usually a waste of space on the left and right sides.
not elegant, but a solution. If you want I can upload my framework-res for you.

That icon is too wide, much wider than 16 px. It will look very ugly squished down.
I don't really have the skills/time to do much, but I have used these icons
. They were small enough to fit in the constraint that Samsung have made.
I have also attached my framework-res.apk
Edit: if you want to manually make your own, you need to open the framework-res file on your PC (use 7zip) and change the battery PNGs one by one. Use a software like GIMP (free) or PhotoShop (definitely not free), not MS Paint because it doesn't support transparency.
Apologies asking this here... but any idea when Wizz Bar is going to get ICS support?
