yeah... so I'm retarded... got a refurbed kaiser and for a few days was wondering why the pictures were so blurry and tinted blue.. turns out there is a thin blue film on the inside of the back cover over the lens... so yeah... if there's a really bad problem with the camera check that.... that's all.
now youre a smart cookie, arent ya?

Just take off the battery cover and try, the photo will be much better.
I ended removing the transparent glass from the battery cover.
The pictures still need some color correction, but they are much sharper and have less blurry light.
you mean to tell me, after all the threads regarding this topic you decided to post another. Not only did you post another, you made it seem like no body has ever thought of this idea, holy shi* batman what is next. maybe you could start a new thread about a CID Unlocker or even better how to flash a rom but dont tell many people because we wouldnt want many people to know abou it. We just love redundant threads.
I nominate retard of the day award

would love a link to the thread reminding people that refurbished phones might come with a protective plastic covering that may cause blurry pictures... I did search. and I'm not talking about removing the hard plastic that's on the back, I'm talking about a protective thin film that can easily be removed.. and you nominate retard of the day award? wtf? nice grasp of the English language... irony much?
Can we have two nominations?

I have to agree. This was good information that I have not seen before.

How did you remove the clear plastic? I checked it out but I don't want to mess up the rest of the backing.

Hi
Did just now try to take a picture with and without the backcover on the phone, and without it, the picturs just looks so much more colorful and nice. How do we fix this?
An example: img851[dot]imageshack[dot]us/g/img047d.jpg/
Change the [dot] to real dots. (duh)
Sorry for bad eng, but I hope you understand.

I also have this question after saw the LG VS iPhone photo and video quality test. The O2x's photo like have a white filter and non colorful .
I already ordered it and waiting for arrive. Can u post some compare photo? The original and without the back cover?
Is it possible to replace the Transparent part by DIY a higher quality glass/plastic?
It's night here, so only indoor photos, but you'll get the idea.
And WHY do LG-Home FC every single time I put it into USB Mass Storage? Need custom roms, now!
Anyways, here's the link to some photos packaged with winrar. The last two is shot in a half-dark room with the flash.

Apparently I couldn't post links, so change the [dot] to actual dots.
Kruppin, I get "The file you are trying to access is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later" when I try to download. Got another location to dl from?
Edit: Nevermind, the link is working again
Thanks!
I did try this myself now, but couldn't see any difference. But it might be because its dark here now and cant really get any good shots anyway.

Ofc you get it working right when i've uploaded it elsewhere. Hm, maby you've got a better glass, cus if i look through it, it's like "milky" or something. Anyway, another guy on swedroid noticed it too, so I thought it was for everyone.
Kruppin, yeah typical I'l probably try this tomorrow. Lets just hope there's a replacement cover to order somewhere soon if this really is the case
Btw, thanks for the info!
I tried this myself and i couldn't believe my eyes, the difference is pretty massive.
on the plus-side the camera is actually REALLY good without the back cover on

Yeah, it's like "Wait, I'm just gonna take the backcover of so I can get a decent picture"
But I just can't beleve LG made THIS of a big screwup, i mean, I don't know what to say, I'm speachless. And also they didn't say it had "gorilla glass" which only that can be deal-breakers for many. I think they rushed this phone alittle too much. Dont get me wrong, I love it, but it's some small things I just can't understand how they missed. If LG would replace the backcovers, then I would absolutly love them, but that wont ever happen so hopefully someone releases a replacement cover with a better glass, and looks as nice as LGs own.
Okay, some strong alcohol and very much polishing have made it almost as good as w/o. Yay. Just to polish with a cloth didn't work, which is why I made this thread. So try that.
Can you...somehow remove (gently) the plastic glass from the back cover?
edit, im looking at some pics of the back cover, seems impossible to remove it w/o damaging the rest....thank you LGGGGG

OReally?
What kind of tools should I use for the polishing?
Only alcohol is need? Any other material?
Question is: is it really the glass itself that causes the problem ?
Or could it be that because of the bad positioning of the lens cover fingerprints / dirt can easaly create a fatty film on the glass?
Did you polish the front AND back of the glass or just the side facing outwards?
sounds to me like it could be related to the light sensor being disturbed by the cover

Yes and no, it must be some bad glass, becouse it's enough to just have one fingerprint and the pics sucks again. Or if its too far from the actual lens, so its that what f*cks it up? (It kind of focuses alittle one the fat/dirt) However, I've never got this problem with any other phone, my old N900 for example doesn't care if it's got fingerprints or not. Ofc it doesnt have two glass like the LG have, but thats no excuse.
atkhobby: Yes, I polished both sides of the batterycover. I drained some "cottonsticks" (tops) with alcohol and just polished. BUT, when i touched the glass on the cover again, the picture is worse, but not as bad as first.
Maybe someone knows of something that make glas fat-resistent? I mean, some phones the screen just get fatty almost directly, and some is very resistant and can be cleaned easy.
And again, I hope you can understand my not so good english.
Hey guys! So i completely understand how to completely disassemble this phone due to how easy it is (it only takes ten minutes!). But i was wondering do you guys think it would be worth being out of a phone for like a day (while paint drys, etc.) if i painted the whole thing and got rid of some scratches? Im seriously contemplating doing it but i just wanted your guys opinions and also any ideas on what colors i should use . Thanks!
that could be very bad for one no more warranty and two the paint could flake off and damage the hardware inside i would just skin it if u want to change the color that bad.
Thanks.
Thanks mate. My warranty is actually long gone and i will be getting a new phone shortly. The reason i assumed this would work because i saw a guy do it on the evo in the portal. It was actually a top post for the day. Id think about skinning it but for some reason the difficulty of the project is intriguing me. But i will def take what you said into consideration. Thanks
thats cool just please post pics if u do it im interested to see how that would turn out.
Okay
I'd be glad to post pics but it probobaly wont be untill this weekend because i use my phone too much during the week. I was thinking a white and metallic silver look. What do ya think?
i always liked the flat black look
The htc back housing will take dye better than paint. There was some pretty easy steps way back when. Check out ppcgeeks touch diamond forums, or google it.

Issue
Do you guys any idea how i could paint the hardware buttons to hide all the scratches mine had from when i "let" my sister "play with it. Do you thing if i just buffered it all out with a fine sandpaper or something and then paint around them that would work. Because i figured if i was going to make the whole phoen beautiful then i may as well fix this falw too. If you do not think that part is possible then i guess ill just buy new housing for like 5 bucks. But just lmk. Thanks

That is clever
Was looking around for people that have done it on blogs, asked a couple friends...etc
Was wondering if anyone on here have done the steps to chrome out your kickstand. I heard its ideal for people that have a peeling kickstand or just wanted to try it in general.
I came across this when searching google---> http://blog.whitesites.com/Chrome-HTC-HD2-Battery-Cover-Tutorial__634103488469591250_blog.htm
So i would expect it to be somewhat similar. I have a HD7 on the way today because i want to give Mango a try for a month or so.
So what do you guys think?
If this has been asked or done already please direct me, and i will give thanks.
I know that the kick stand is metal. I remember a thread quite a while back with people complaining about the clear coat peeling off. Mine is flaking and I've thought about sanding it down. I'm guessing you could follow any of the threads for some of the other devices; G2, Hd2, Nexus One, Sensation, etc, that posted how-to's on this. It shouldn't be too difficult.
I would however worry about dust getting into the phone unless you want to go to the trouble of taking your phone apart to remove the piece from the phone before working on it.
Post pics if you go for it. I would love to see the finished product.
I should tell you my kickstand was peeling off and it was horrible, so I continued peeling off till I got it completely removed and now it looks pretty nice, with a much more convincing chrome look.. Tomorrow I'll show you some pictures (3:30 AM here).

Havent tried to polish yet but i know i got a little spot on my kickstand that looks like its peeling off too like lauticol said 2 posts ago.
And i agree with lauticol when he said it looks like its more even or more like crome.. not like that ugly "original" somehow painted kickstandshape.
Well, here's the photos I promised, and also a video because I didn't knew if you could see it well through the pictures.. You may see some scratches (had an acciden ) but I'ts really beautifull, it was the best thing I did to my HD7 (talking about hardware obviously )
I'm thinking of a future project for my phone, "chrome polish" the little tier that says "HD7" because it has a little peeling off (But I don't know if the word "HD7" will be removed too).
I can't put the embed video player, but here's the link

Hi everyone,
I've had a display protector on my 4X (~7 months old now) from day one. Lately, I discovered some stains on the display and got a new protector. When I removed the old one, I discovered that those mysterious stains were actually on the display glass. After trying to remove them with a microfibre cloth and finally glass cleaner, I realized they are actually on the downside of the display glass.
I have no clue why they turned out now or even where they come from. The display itself still works perfect.
Did anybody of you experience the same problem? Is it a manufacturing error? Living bacteria colony inside my phone? I have absolutely no idea.
Would an error of this kind be covered by the warranty?
I've attached two pictures, the stains are kind of hard to capture with a camera, but I think you can see them.
Regards,
pint
possibly the outcome of going on XXX sites ,lol only joking, could it be caused by possible condensation or possible that the screen has got so hot sometime due to it having the protector on and staining that way
My computer screen is so dirty, i can't see what you mean

Thanks for the tip, i checked the forum, but the only thread I found was "dust particles under the display"... The pics there actualy looked like dust particles, unlike the "stains" on my phone. I guess I'll just trust try to get a fee warranty repair... After all, the only thing I can imagine is actually a condensed fluid (It never got wet, so... Sweat from my pockets?! but wouldn't that more likely kill the electronics?).
edit: btw what the hell guys, clean your computer screens! totally worth it.

I got almost the same stain as you got looking from the picture and im confident that it is dust or some dirt that got in. Thats because when it first started to get under my screen it looked more like dust particles but know it more looks like a dirty stain like your pictures.
Also when i first noticed the stain forming it came in from the angle where the front camera is top right corner. I also see some slight gap there between the display and the cover at my phone.
Im going to send it back soon since it really annoys me.
I have the same problem. It's definitely no dust. The stain was small but became bigger and bigger. Have you found a solution yet? I found this post:

Hi All,
Has anyone been able to track down somewhere that is selling a replacement back for the Mix? Mine is scratched quite heavily (likely from using a fairly tight sleeve) and I would really like to replace it....Or for any poor soul out there who has damaged their Mix and would like to sell the back. The irony is the sides of the phone are pristine and not a scratch, not so much on the back.
Thanks in advance

You are wrong. It is made in China.Enough said.Looks good but who cares about quailty. It is NOT CERAMIC but made to looks like it.
I had it and my suggestion is save money for Galaxy S8+ or something more valuable.
I had to take the pictures with my Galaxy tablet so not the best quality but you get the picture. This is with normal day to day use as well, nothing extreme. I even had the Best Buy film on the back for a few months but got tired of the sharp edges from the film every time i unlocked with the finger print sensor. I am wondering if the chemicals from the glue combined with peeling of the film stripped some of the finish somehow as this is supposed to be so scratch resistant. Maybe just one with a faulty finish.

So the YouTube video is fake or is it your phone, it's been tested against scratches with a hardness of 7, second to none, don't get it. Not one other person complaining I dropped mine when it slipped off a table on it's own while i was in another room,, expecting the worse but not even a mark.

Sorry, I am not sure what your point is. I am certainly not making it up as per the pictures. I was only asking if anyone had seen the replacement backs anywhere. I absolutely love his phone but have been disappointed how much is has scratched on the back, not questioning the online videos etc.
By the way, what was the purpose of your post? If you have nothing to contribute to solving the question at hand why say anything?

Suppose my point was because of shortage of the ceramic maybe they sent some out with different materials.
Mine is just fine after a while of use, both in and out of a protective case, side note mine also doesn't have the "cottage" cheese looking blemishes yours seems to have in the pictures. Its possible to have received a "repaired" one instead of a legit one ... especially if it came from a reseller. There are mentions of this on the xiaomi reddit and other places. its extremely scratch resistant, as much so as any Samsung or other device out there that I have dealt with [and I do service work on phones so I have seen plenty of damaged devices - HUGE number of sub standard Samsung's btw - for the value guy ]
Good luck on finding a part supplier, you MAY find one on Aliexpress ... but there more than likely not going to be genuine parts. Vopmart.com
Thanks to everyone for their feedback. I hope I didnt get a refurb etc, that would suck.
