Is there any software available for TyTn II by which i can change or disable my number to others? Please rep.
settings/ blue phone icon/ services/ caller id/ get settings/ select who you want to see your, some, all, etc... No software required. Hope this helps
Within the UK you can dial 141 before the number.
This way you can set individual contacts as private.

That would be to easy. Don't you have a more complicated solution, or maybe some over priced software you know of that would work?
My phone doesn't have those settings.

They probably need to be enabled via a reg edit or advanced config
depending on the net work there is a code that you can dial in front of the number that would block your number from showing up on the caller IDs of other phones.
ex
for t mobile is #31#
for att is *67
for sprint its normally blocked by defualt
verizon i believe is *67
but if there was a program that would allow you to change or spoof your caller ID among other people it would be nice to have

Software to change your number ...
NO .... but there are services you can use to change how your number appears to others. "It's called Spoofing"
Software to disable your number .... (where are you located?)
No need for software .. chinese chicken's "how to" is correct (if you live in the states.) You also have the option to press the "green dial key" as though you were going to make a call, then "Menu", then "Options", then "Services", select "Caller ID" and hit "Get Settings", and then select either "everyone", "no one" or "only to contacts", and ok. soft reset to ensure the settings will stick. Hope this helps

1. You cannot do anything on the phone. You have to setup your voicemail that way.
2. Are you saying that you are not seeing anything on the popup box or are you saying that they are small and not so readable? If it is the latter, then you have to rely on 3rd party programs (ex: Photo Contacts Pro or S2U2). Search the forums for these two programs.
I found on the phone that you can alter the delay before the phone switches to "voice Mail"
on the second problem.....
the box pops up in the lower part of the screen . The bottom section isnt high enough to shown the full ID contact name etc its hidden
2. Reordering the plugins or deactivating a couple you don't need may do the trick. I think it's under 'settings -> Today.

On my T-Mobile MDA Vario III (UK) you can find this option as follows:
Start>Settings>Personal Tab>Phone>Service Tab
Highlight the "Call Forwarding" option in the list and click "Get Settings...."
You should then see a list of network settings, one of which is:
Forward phone calls only if:
Then a ticked box next to "No answer: Voicemail"
Below this change the value for "Forward after" in the drop down list - multiples of 5 secs from 5 to 30.
When you are done click OK and you should be good to go.
I hope its the same on yours!?
Cheers

Change default time for call forwarding
Hi,
Due to our operator procedure i have to acivate call forwarding by dialing special command. It is not a problem, however every time I cancel call forwarding and activate it again, I have to adjust timing for it. By default it is set to 20 seconds and I need it to be 5. Any tricks how can I do that? Tried to find it in registry, but no luck.

Thank you this was the perfect answer.
I finally ordered my phone so I am anxiously waiting for delivery.
I was wondering as I couldn't find any info in the manual nor on this forum...does the phone have a built in feature to make the out-going call private or hide number?
I know the GSM code #31# but I know some phones have the feature to always do this on calls or individual calls.
If there is no feature, is there a 3rd party app?
Thank you in advance.
So much to learn here...
there's an option in the phone settings to turn off outbound caller id.

Excellent...thanks!
of course I reject all incoming calls that have caller ID turned off to keep the telemarketers away. Just something to keep in mind if you have some tech savvy friends who do the same.

"Only to contacts" is broken. You still need to dial *82 or whatever; it's not automatic.

*31# shows the ID as all my friends' numbers in Contact has that in front of the phone number. I've been using it for years on my other phones.
Hopefully *31# will override the HTC "caller id to no one" setting.
There are just too many customers that I call that I do not want them to have my cell number. If they reject my call then we'll play voicemail tag
Thanks for all the replies. I can't wait to get my new phone!
i call *31# now can not call anyone ?!!
I set my phone (AT&T Tilt) to block all outgoing caller ID and would like to be able to selectively turn this off by adding the usual #code prefix (usually *82 in the US) to the dialed number. Apparently, once you set the tilt to do this, you can not unblock the number without going back into phone settings and changing this setting. I spoke to AT&T who could not offer an answer or solution and they sent me to HTC who said it is a feature of WM and there is no solution unless the carrier provides one. I am never sure if AT&T support really knows the right answer - has anyone else dealt with this - is there any other code/#prefix that works or any other possible solution
Thanks!
Not sure if the codes are network dependent, but on Vodafone in the UK i dial *31# plus the number to dial. This will show my number for this call only.
HTH
Did you read the manual??? NO!!!!
Go to phone, selectect menu, select options, go to services tab, select caller ID, click get network settings, then select the one you want. AT&T does not support *69 & *82 on the Tilt.
Hey - how do you think I set the device to block caller ID Einstein? How about you read the post next time
Hi,
Does somebody know if it is possible to show your outgoing Caller-ID per category?
I know the defaults options for Caller-ID are "all, none, contacts only".
If it is possible to set this per category, has somebody already seen a piece of software which handles this?
I have already looked around in the forum and on Google, but couldn't find something like that.
Some phrase in Google told it could be done with Vito QuickContacts, I downloaded it but did not find such option, maybe it was for other phones only...
Thanks.
I would also like to know this, it would be Veeeery helpful
The "contacts only" option is not working for me, it's the same like "no one". I would like to see at least that option working.
But, Caller ID is a feature from a mobile operator, and honestly I can't see how one can control it via software.
Settings - click on blue Phone icon
select Services tab
select Caller ID
Click Get Settings
wait....
then shows options:-
Everone,
No one,
Only to Contacts
probably the best you can do
You could write your own program to handle contacts for you, and include setting such as these
ok, would somebody provide that program for some of us, not programming saavy.
Guys do not get upset with me. I've been trying to find this but I was not able to locate it.
When I make a call is there any way not to show my number to the other party?
I'm sure there is a simple answer but I cannot find it
Thanks for the help

So is there no tweak that I can do so I do not have to dial al the time *67 ???
Dial *67 before dialing the phone number.
More info about the various *codes: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vertical_service_code
You should keep in mind, that even if you use *67 (block your caller ID) before placing the call, the person you called may be able to dial *69 which will redial you. It won't give out your number, but many networks still allow the callback itself to occur.
The long and short of it is that you'll either (1) answer their return call, or (2) their call will go to your voice mail. Either way it turns out, the person you called will probably figure "things" out pretty quickly.
Start, Settings, Phone, Services tab, highlight Caller ID, click Get Settings, Change Radio Button to *No one*
