just thought of sharing with everyone...if you are tired of seeing the battery indicator showing in decrements of 10, i've found out that quickmenu's battery indicator is able to display actual decrements of 1% e.g. if it is 57%, it will show 57 instead of 60.
I would be interested if I could just get the battery indicator out of QuickMenu and use JUVS HTC Enlarge Start Menu. Am I the only one who feels this way?
i found it to be quite handy in navigating to your programs or systems menu...it can be placed on the top bar or replace your windows start.
well, this is the only program so far that can display the battery correctly and also complement windows start.
Where exactly have you been seen decrements of 10? I have always seen 1% decrements on my kaiser...now my old Hermes, thats a different story.
Battery Indicator by itself?
Is it possible to get the battery indicator by itself instead of the whole entire quickmenu software?
Hi There
I've searched and tried a few programs to display my Network signal strength on my today screen as a percent.
PhoneAlarm was too bloaty and I couldn't find a skin that displayed just the signal percent. (plus the skins are dog ugly)
I found CommsManager Pro, but it had nothing to display on the Today screen.
The other thing that would be just as good is to turn the bar strength icon on the title bar at the top of the screen into a percent.
If anyone knows of a program, cab or hack to get either of these things that would be excellent.
Thanks in advance.
From what i know, even if you find such a program, it would be useless. signal strength is very "relative"...

BatteryStatus today plug in does it... pretty well at that.
I used battery Status for a while, but for some reason found that it caused my battery to run down much quicker.
Over night it would go from 100% to 78% with Battery Status installed, with out it it would go from 100% to 97% in the AM.
I thinnk that was with my 8525 , so never used it on my Tilt. Just check for that, and see if it causes you the same issue.
I think it'd be great if somebody could come up with a new battery gauge to replace the current icon with just a percentage being shown. Seems like that'd be simple??
Actually, I think the gauge is not correct. I looked at the status and it indicated the battery are about 40% left while the gauge shown over 50% ~ 60%. Very inaccurate.
I also noticed this issue. The visual display of the battery icon looks like there is more battery left. The percentages are always lower. I also would love to get the percent of battery left instead of the icon.

Sign me up if we can figure this out! there are apps in rhetorically marketplace that add this to the notification bar but a complete replacement would be nice.

I use a free app called "battery Idicator." works perfect.
I think the battery icon is only showing 4 or 5 stages of battery life, and it's very underhanded because it shows more than what it actually has.
a full battery is > 75%
slight sliver is 74% - 50%
orange is 49% - 25%
red is < 25%
I would love to have the icon replaced with something more accurate.

I agree, battery indicator is great but I would prefer an icon replacing the actual incon instead of having two battery icon

yea, i dont know that ive seen that tho, only on custom ROMs. Im sure someone will chime in to correct me if im wrong tho!
Battery Level is pretty handy. Not a lot of features, just puts a percentage in the notification bar. What I like about it is that it's a box with the number, and not a stylized battery, so it looks less redundant with the stock battery meter still displayed.
The battery indicator sucks. It shows 80% charge at 41%, and 50% at 39. The steps it takes are way too large.
I use Battery Status Pro to get a status bar icon with an accurate percentage, and would love to figure out how to get rid of the stock icon.
There is a mod here:
http://forum.sdx-developers.com/themes/(mod)remove-battery-icon-from-status-bar/
...but the odds of it working on our Captivate are low. I haven't tried it out of fear of bricking the device, even though it's exactly what I'm looking for.
This is nothing new with samsung. It was the opposite on Eternity 50~60+% showed 2 out of 5 bars.
I use battery widget, shows 5 bars on the home screen with the percentage clearly overlapping the bars for easy read ability and when you tap it, it pops up a window with 4 buttons that are shortcuts to the settings page that will allow you to turn off wifi, gps, and bluetooth and a button to bring you to the display settings.
I no longer have to go into settings -> about phone -> status just to chekc my actual battery percentage.
It will never get fixed by samsung so no sense in complaining, find an alternative you like.
When I Have Fewer Battery Bars, My Power Drops Quickly Why Is That On My SGH-i897 (Captivate) Phone?
The battery icon display consists of seven visible levels. Some levels have different values depending upon on pattern of use.
From a fully charged state, L6 is 100%, L5 is 80%, L4 is 60%, L3 is 40%, L2 is 25%, L1 is 10%, and L0 is 5%.
Guys, I am using a metamorph theme called ClearBar http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=743358
The battery icon there changes according to colour etc. and seems more fair and accurate, though still a little optimistic.
The problem I think is because the steps are too large: 100, 80, 60, 40, 20 and 0.
I have 'Gauge battery Widget' (1x) on my main home screen. I calibrated against the Captivate's own gauge (Settings > About Phone > Status ... see Battery level) and they match 100% (perhaps the widget just reports that value graphically?). But, the cartoon of the battery status in the banner at the top of the screen overstates battery life until one get unto the orange and red zones (above those zones, who really cares?).

In addition to this you can also use the BlackBar theme that was posted here a little while ago, it uses the same metamorph theme so it changes your icon completely. Ill throw up a link when i get on my desk top but the tread should be towards the top of the apps theme forum.

Hi guys,
In Settings -> Status -> Battery Use (2.3.3 only), the Phone Signal bar changes from green to brown. I am not sure what green and brown means but every time the color turns brown, it wakes up my phone, and then, it takes a while to get back to sleep again.
See the attached screenshot. You will know what I mean.
So, what the heck does brown-green means in the phone signal bar and why does it triggers the wake status in my phone? I've also noticed, that when the phone signal bar is brown, the "suspend" process starts eating some CPU according to Watchdog.
Any input would be really appreciated. Thanks!

I recently got the root rights on my Android 7.0 Blu Vivo 5R using these instructions and files. Ever since I did that the battery charge icon does not show the exact percentage. The icon is still there, and you can roughly estimate the charge by it, but the exact numbers are missing. If I remember correctly, the numbers used to be to the side of the icon. Now they only appear when the charge is 15% or lower, and they appear inside the icon. I'd like to change it to the way it used to be.
Google says I have to unlock the System UI Tuner. "Pull down your notification shade, then pull down a second time to show the Quick Settings panel, then long-press on the gear icon for a few seconds until it starts to spin". The thing is, my quick settings panel appears at pulling up, not down, and it does not have a gear icon to press on. Also tried the " Battery Percent Enabler" app, didn't help.
EDIT: The solution is stupidly simple: "Settings->More settings->Hardware->Battery->Styles of battery percent in status bar". Found it by accident. I'm surprised no one answered.
